3 star pizza, 5 star calzone. My daughter and I were craving deep dish and decided to give Vero's a try. It was our first time visiting. The crust was nice and the bacon was delicious, thick cut, and crispy. That said, the pizza looked a bit thrown together and the sausage tasted underdone, which was surprising considering it took nearly 45 minutes to prep and cook. My son ordered a calzone and was audibly demolishing it. It was very large and he said it tasted great, so that was a plus. Our intention was to dine in and enjoy our meal there, but the very limited seating and the fact that the table is positioned right in front of the register made it feel awkward. We ultimately took our food home to eat. I would not consider this a dine in restaurant. It feels more like a pickup and takeout focused spot. It is definitely on the expensive side. It was about $60 for one pizza and one calzone. Both items were priced as cheese only, so each topping was charged separately. $3 for sausage, $3 for bacon, $2.50 for spinach, etc. The total came out to $37 for the pizza and $19 for the calzone before tax and tip. We might give it another try, but it is unlikely. read more

I love Vero's!!! I have ordered from Vero's numerous times. It's almost embarrassing, but not. Everyone eats pizza at least 2-3 times a month...right? They have a couple small dining tables in the lobby area, which are convenient to sit out while you wait or if you want to dine there while your pizza is still hot. The staff is great. They are always friendly and helpful. They know me well enough to give me ranch dressing, which is fabulous. I love their onion rings with the honey mustard, dipping sauce. I know it sounds odd, but the combination together, is just great. I would've never thought to put those two items together. I have never been disappointed by their pizza. It is always top-notch. Vero's does not skimp on ingredients. MY PIZZA always weighs about 10 pounds or more. I have always picked up my pizza and it has always been hot and fresh when I get home which is another plus. After some rail-fanning in Maricopa at the Amtrak station. We had a taste for a deep dish pizza. Lucky for us Vero's was only a couple of miles from the train station, we also went to Martin Auto museum the builder/designer of dwarf racing cars. Cool museum south of Maricopa. Don't miss that!! Called ahead for their deep dish, clean restaurant and was ready on time!! Plenty of room for parking, big restaurant to fit 2 to a family reunion. Plenty of tables to enjoy a lunch or dinner. That being said; the food was of high kind and quality. We got the butter crust Sears Tower, which is something akin to a supreme, and it was delicious. The smell on the drive home was almost enough to get us to open the box! We also ordered the boneless wings and the calamari, and we were very pleased! It is not a restaurant for the overly-thrifty, as we paid $60 for one 14" pie and two appetizers, but the food was worth the price. Definitely worth a stop in to pick it up and try it! We started our order online. We decided to try the pan pizza with pepperoni and bacon. It said 30 min pick up time. It was ready at pick up. It was nice and hot when we got it home and the smell was so good. We tried it and it was so good the sauce was so flavorful tangy herb seasoning not overly salted or over powering. I was told by the young man that it was started in Chicago from a Billy's Pizzaria from the North side. Customer service was great. Cashier was friendly and polite. Place is clean and only has two tables with four chairs so if have big family I recommend ordering to go, but for my family of 3 it was comfortable. The inferno wings had good flavor and nice heat to them, next time I'll get the xxxhot tho because personally wasn't that spicy. For the thin crust pizza we really enjoyed but I see why some reviews say lack of seasoning the sauce could use just a tad bit more salt but for others I can see it being just right. We also had the ceaser salad which was actually really good they make homemade croutons and you can taste the freshness of Parmesan cheese and homemade dressing! Not sure how this place has almost 5 stars, or maybe it was just our order today... Ordered a regular pizza, pretty simple with pepperoni & olives, we received a deep dish instead. Also ordered 1/2 buffalo & 1/2 bbq wings, Got all buffalo. The wings were mostly breading with hardly any chicken, and hard to chew. I like to be early so I can grab it when it first comes out hot! I was there 15 minutes early and they told me it had just came out. My drive home is 5 minutes max and I grabbed a slice right after I came through the door. Stone cold!!! It was like a soda cracker with a tiny bit of sauce and piece of cheese! Absolutely terrible! The food was yummy but we built our own pizza with custom toppings, when we brought the pie home to eat, one of the toppings was wrong, we had ordered Italian sausage on the pizza but we got Italian beef. When we checked out, we got the food from a younger guy who definitely looked stoned. Not professional. I hope that wasn't the reason our pizza toppings were wrong. Never had it and decided to pull the get family let's do something new for dinner card. Ordered on through the app and got a sears tower, Italian beef, 3 meatball app, 12 no mess wings, onion rings, cheese curds, and a kids spaghetti with a meatball. I've got six people in my house and everybody loved this. I can't tell you how many times each of them said this is such a good idea. This place is great. We need to do this again! Tried Vero tonight! Placed an online order for pick up. A bit bummed that the $5 store opening discount is only available for phone orders. Pizza had great flavor!! Thin crust is a bit thicker than I'd hoped and the Italian wings need a little toss in butter first and a few extra shakes of seasoning. Wings have the potential to be great, cooked perfectly but they were flavorless! I'll try butter crust next time and a different wing flavor but it may be a bit as it was pricey! $60 for a pizza and 12 wings. read more
