Today I needed to come back to Verizon to finish the fix of my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. I had only had this phone since June. Well don't know if I have bad mojo, but one week ago the bottom quarter of the phone was no longer sensitive to the touch. Texting was near to impossible.
Thinking I was losing it, I went into the store and was assured that there was something wrong. Jose ordered a new phone for me. Jose was great. Yeltsin has been my "go to" guy for awhile but he was busy. When Yeltsin was available, Jose did not have a problem with my having Yeltsin finish the transaction.
The replacement phone was delivered to my office the next day. I went back to Verizon a few days later to transfer the old phone to the "new" phone. I was not thrilled that the replacement phone was a factory refurb. This is the policy. Yeltsin spent time with me reviewing what needed to be transfered to the new phone. That was Friday afternoon. Seemed under control.
Just my luck, I was working late at my office on Saturday. When I went to grab my phone I noticed that it was "frozen". Ok, round two. Luckily the Verizon store was open at 7:00 pm. Valerie, the manager greeted me. She had remembered me from the other day. Yeltsin was gone. Again, Valerie checked my phone and lucky me, I got another lemon. She ordered a phone with the understanding that it should be available early Monday. So today, the phone froze again. It was 3:00. I cannot be without a phone due to work. I went back to Verizon. The replacement had still not been delivered.
Valerie was at lunch when I arrived. Another Manager (don't know his name) ok'd a new replacement phone. Yeltsin made the exchange for me. Although the policy is for the factory refurb, they considered the circumstances and made the right decision to take care of the problem. The phone situation has been a time consuming mess, but the people at this Verizon have made it as good as the situation allowed. The fact that I got two crappy phones was not their fault. They ordered a replacement as soon as the issue was identified. They were helpful and friendly.
I am even evaluating push to talk phone / radios thru Yeltsin for my business. Sprint / Nextell is not the best.
I have been a customer at this store for a very long time. There have been problems with various phones and some trouble-shooting. I read some of the bad reviews. As a business owner, I can empathize with the store. I have had a few very bad customer service people, but overall the experience is good. Who knows, maybe the customer is a "pain". I am sure some people think that I am difficult. Finding good employees is like winning the lottery. Sometimes you might get the jackpot, other times a different payout. I have had some employees that have not been great. You can't watch them all the time and sometimes you have no idea what might be happening without feedback. For me, the key to the person that doesn't seem to be helping with the right attitude, is ASK FOR ANOTHER SALESPERSON. Tell the Manager your valid complaints.
When you come to this store, there are so many people that have worked there for a very long time. That is usually a good sign. The couple of people that I didn't care for in the past, were no where to be seen in the three visits that I made over the last week. So my guess it that they are gone. Yeltsin, Valerie, Jose and today's manager all great.
I have been to other stores. I think overall this store has the best track record of most. I think that my experiences count for something as I have had cell phones since 1986. That might make me an OG.................. read more
