Over staffed and over anxious... to sell not help. Had an appointment, went in, and had at least three folks stumble over themselves wanting to "assist" me. I figured with that many people, an appointment, and the information I supplied on what I needed, that someone would have been assigned and prepared. Not so I went in to try and clarify some questions regarding replacing my phone. I had researched possibilities on the Verizon Wireless (VW) website. Once they found out I was shopping online, I had the plague. Not only not helpful, but they seemed to be purposeful in not answering questions. Since we have been customers for many years, I thought Verizon had more of a team attitude. Not so. Bottom line - shop VW on line (only place to buy their certified used phones apparently), do your research and buy accordingly. I'd give them zero stars if I could. The customer service here is awful! My husband and I went today and immediately received judgmental looks as if we were bothering the employees by asking them to work. I explained our situation. - adding my husband to my phone plan to replace a hotspot line, as the Verizon customer service told me to over the phone. The rude woman in the store immediately shut me down and treated me like I am stupid before I could finish talking the first time. I had to explain three times what we were there for but she clearly didn't understand and then she said "ugh I'm going to get a piece of paper to explain to you how phone plans work" ..my husband is usually very patient with poor customer service but he was ready to tell her off. She finally began to set up the phone plan but wouldn't replace the hotspot line like I was to,d would happen and went to the back where we watched her chill for 10 min only to come back to tell us the phone he wanted wasn't available anymore "for some weird reason" (even though it was 10min prior) so he had to get the way more expensive new version #upsellmuch she was also bothered we didn't want to purchase all the accessories for his $800 phone. We looked around and noticed every employee there treated their customers like they're stupid and completely bothered that people were in the store. So let's make their jobs easy and not go to their store. We both left extremely bothered. I've always had good customer service with Verizon whether its on the phone or in store so I'm completely shocked by how horrible these employees are. They provide good service but it seems as if no matter what time of day I go, there is always a huge wait. I would suggest making an appointment and even showing up 10 minutes early for your appointment to check in because any closer to your appointment time, you will still have to wait. I came in the Sunday after Black Friday. No wait, very friendly and helpful staff member, Lizett. I added on to my boyfriend's family plan and we ended up paying less per month than before, plus I got my iPhone for only $6 per month. The problem started when the iPhone I wanted wasn't in stock. Lizett assured me that the phone would be delivered by Friday, which it was, and that I could then bring in my old At&t iPhone 4s and trade it in for $35. I wouldn't get the $100 credit because the phone is cracked. Totally fair. Come Friday, I walk into a half empty Verizon store and wait 20 minutes to be helped. When I handed my cracked iPhone to Matt for my $35 credit he scoffed "who gives credit for cracked iPhones?" Needless to say his condescending attitude didn't set off the best conversation. I explained the whole situation and told him he had to honor the $35 credit. He refused, only offering $18. Some other person came in to get involved and asked me if my phone was cracked on Sunday when I came in. My response? "No it wasn't. I just happened to crack it in the 5 days since I was here and made up the whole story about being promised a $35 credit by Lilzett" They wouldn't budge on the trade in value even though Lizett was at the store and confirmed she told me $35. Their final excuse? That was Sunday, It's Friday now and things have changed. Needless to say they treat you like gold before you become a customer and coal afterwards. Fast forward to Monday -I receive a text from Verizon informing me that I will receive a $150 credit. Confused, I called 611 and was informed that I do indeed get a $150 credit for trading over from another carrier. A pleasant surprise that confirmed while Lizett was very sweet, she doesn't know all there is to know about her job. read more

Went in for the second time this month because my phone has had a problem reading the SIM card and was telling me no service. Today went in because it happened for the third time and Diana was our "specialist." She made no attempt to try any options on the phone to fix it and told me the apple store would not give me a new phone because my warranty was up. I have not even had my phone a year so I protested, which she then said oh yeah, you got it last month (which was still incorrect). When she finally found the right phone she confirmed they would give me a new phone because I hadn't had mine for a year. I then asked her if she could replace the SIM card because that did the job last time and she said "Yeah but it won't make a difference." While I totally want to praise Jered (S) the other part of me doesn't want to because if everyone else knows how fabulous he is he might be harder to be able to get! But really, he deserves if! My family has long sung his praises. They've followed him whenever he's moved to a new store. Frankly I figured they were probably exaggerating their praise of him, and surely some closer store would be able to help. After phone issues with my current phone had me at 3 other Verizon stores and no one had any thoughts or made any real effort to help figure it out, I finally decided it was worth making the trek out to see him in La Mesa. It's certainly not as convenient as the two I can see out my window, and the other just up the street, but man do I wish I had not wasted my time going elsewhere and had just gone out there to begin with. He's amazing: he's a fantastic multi-tasker, knows products well, can troubleshoot, and just truly cares about his customers. So grateful for Jered and his quick help for what I was dealing with, and making things as easy and painless as possible. Verizon would be in much better shape and much more beloved if they'd only hire employees like Jered!! read more

We purchased a phone at the Rancho San Diego Verizon, which is NOT a real Verizon corporate store, be warned. The screwed my activation up and this Grossmont store, a real Verizon store, fixed things up quickly and efficiently. Avoid these licensed locations like RSD, bad news. The Grossmont store manager stated that these stores routinely make problems for them and they have to bail them out. Also, make an appointment online if you can, it will save you some wait time as well. read more

I typically do not like writing bad reviews, however in this case I have no problem because of the back and forth this specific store had me do.I first went to this store to close my account and return the Jetpack device. I didn't even have a week with the account and the device didn't work the way I wanted it to. I spoke to the store where I bought it from, and Verizon customer service agent over the phone and both places assured me I would be able to return the device at any Verizon store. I went there after the Verizon customer service agent over the phone assured me this store should be able to process the return with out a problem. The second the "Solution Specialist" looked at me without even hearing of how long I had the device or where I bought it from, he told me flat out "You can't return that here". I was floored and I was confused because I was told by everyone but him that the opposite was true. After him assuring me he couldn't process the return, which I accepted as the truth, I planned to call the Verizon 1800 number again. He said they will not be able to process it either. Well I just got off the phone with that same number and I have both closed my account, and returned my Jetpack device (which they are sending me a shipping label) over mail. Rest assured the "Solutions Specialist" was flat out lying to me, didn't want to attend to me and wasted my time of going back and forth between stores. I have never had to deal with Verizon and thank god I didn't switch. I know no single provider is perfect, but at least the "Solutions Specialist" doesn't turn me away like that, lie to me about everything regarding the account, and tricks people so he doesn't have to deal with closing account. If you need to open a Verizon account please steer clear of this place due to the horrible business practice they run. The only wish I had was for a zero star rating. read more

The process of moving over my old phone's data had some curve-ball problems that Haydee figured out nicely. Finally, I did not think that my employer had any agreement with Verizon for discounts. Literally a bunch of incompetent workers at this store and even over the phone customer service. I have never been more disappointed with this provider. I ordered the Iphone 8 on 9/22/17 for them to say it WILL be arriving at my house on the 30th. When the 30th came around I waited all day long to find that it never came, I called them that evening to find out it had been backordered. I received absolutely no notification of this. They apologized and said it will come on the 11th, I was totally fine with this, I was just annoyed I wasn't notified. Then on the 6th I receive an email saying my whole order is cancelled. I called them and they couldn't tell me why. I spent 45 minutes on the phone placing a whole new order and reconfirmed everything I had said to the guy through phone customer service. He reassured me that it was going to ship to my correct shipping address and that everything was correct. I was already frustrated that I had to go through all of this and wait so long for a simple process that I am actually paying a lot of money for. A couple days later the phone shipped and I got the tracking number only to find out they shipped it to the WRONG address!! Brought my broken phone in, upgraded, had to wait 45 minutes. Once activated, none of my contacts, photos, etc. were transferred. Jessica assured me they would be, given the fact that I had a google account and password. Totally frustrated I requested my broken phone and $ back. Charged me $35 for activation fee. Went in for a tablet and to change my plan. I was previously grandfathered in with unlimited data on my phone. However Verizon decided to double the cost of unlimited data from 29.99 to 49.99, which made it more economical to go to an 18GB plan with a tablet (I currently have none). Jessica, my salesperson, was very helpful and explained all the costs. She also took the time to configure the tablet, an Ellipsis 10. However after I left, the tablet started shutting down randomly and has gotten progressively much worse. At this very moment, as I write this review, the tablet is malfunctioning horribly-- having shut down about 6 times and the text flashing uncontrollably. The problems with the tablet notwithstanding, the service was very good. If it weren't because I'm quite disturbed about the hardware malfunctioning, I'd have given 5 stars. I'll follow up tomorrow after I return the unit. I've been told they're going to replace it. Jessica responded quickly to my text letting her know about the malfunction. Good service, but a horrible tablet. I'll keep you posted. UPDATE: As promised, Mike the manager, was aware of the problem. As soon as I walked in they were expecting me and replaced the tablet with a new one. No problems so far, and I love it. Upgrading my review to 5 stars. Well deserved. read more

I went to upgrade my antique phone (Palm Treo) to a current smart phone. Previous to my visit to Verizon I had spent many hours trying to backup my MS Outlook contact list in preparation for the new phone. No luck. The sales associate at Verizon, Sara, assured me that she could do it and even tested the system first. She spent 30 minutes with this picky shopper, answering all my questions. I bought the package she offered. The contact transfer did not go smoothly but she was stubborn and persistent about delivering the result I wanted. With her colleague supervisor's assistance, they made it happen long after I would have given up. Thank you Sara and Verizon, you got a lifelong customer! read more

The idiot assigned to me didn't know how to retrieve my contacts. I told him that it was done before. Immediately after I explained that, this wretched woman w/ bleached blond hair like straw ( apparently the manager) marched over making an inquiry about my dissatisfaction. She took it upon herself to tell me to be respectful and vehemently defended the idiot. She threatened to call security because I expressed again my displeasure about the contacts. This is my second review for this location and I must say, this one is going to be much better than the last. Jessica went above and beyond to provide me with great customer service for my upgrade. There were some technical difficulties that were out of her control, but she did what she could to make it work and thanks to Sergon's special touch, I walked out there with a new phone, finally. I keep getting a 'SIM Failure' error on my iphone 4s. On the third call, I talk to someone who actually knows how to solve the problem. He says I can take it to the local Verizon store and they'll replace the SIM card, which was the wrong one that Verizon installed in my phone. Otherwise I wouldn't get one shipped to me for 5 days. The online hours for the local store show that it is open ti 9, but I called at 6:10 and someone answers but doesn't say anything. I hear people laughing in the background. Someone says 'we're closed, right?' After all these years I stuck with Verizon because I thought AT&T would be worse. Maybe not. read more

This is a follow-up to a post that I submitted a few months ago. In December 2010, I signed a 2-year contract for the Verizon 4G wireless network. The first 6 months was nothing but headaches. At least once per month (usually 2-3 times per month), I had to call customer service because the Internet would not connect, or kept disconnecting. (I have a new laptop computer, so that is not the issue). Finally, after 6 months they sent me a new device. I continued having problems. They sent another new device, then a new SIM card. So, all was well for about 2-3 months. Then I had disconnect problems again. We downloaded new software every few weeks). And, it works well for a few weeks. This has been my experience every since DECEMBER 2010!!!! There are times when the performance is worse than my old dial-up connection from 1997! (seriously). Well, last night, I had another hour on the phone with customer service trying to get connected. They say that the Pantch 260 does not work well with Windows 7. And, that I can purchase a new device (with, of course, a new 2-year contract). After my post a few months back, a manager posted and said "please call, we would love to help you". The help that I'm forever offered is, "you can get a new device for $19.99 and sign another 2-year contract". I've told them over and over that I have been a customer since 1998 when they were still AirTouch. If they want to keep a 20-year customer, all I'm asking is to give me the updated device, for the $19.99 -- if, I'm happy after 60 days, then I'll be a customer for the next 20-years. I have not had a 60-day period since December 2010, where I was not completely frustrated with this! Verizon, you can use some education in how to keep a 20-year customer. For now, I'm counting the days until December 2012 when I can go to AT&T or back to my COX DSL. read more

She was quick, got my Cell cover replaced "perfectly by the way" when prior visits for the same issue I got excuses why I had "air" underneath the protective cover. Today, we went back in (not angry at all, but confused) and were completely and satisfactorily accommodated by Jessica, who was totally open to listening to our situation and what was going on. Worsts customer service ive experienced in my life, i wont even have to pull the race card. 1:30 wait, passed up twice on the que meaning i was sent to customer feedbacks by verizon asking to me to rate my experience w/o ever talking to a verizon rep. The kicker, the one supposely placing me on the que was the "&" manager, some guy with contacts and grey hair calling himself the manager, but im sure it was the woman that pulled 5 employees off the floor named hanna i believe. Walked in and the wait was only suppose to be 20 mins. After the line died down as i patiently waited at their bar charging area, verizon continued to to take walk-ins directly as they walked in the door. As reps continued to tell me im next. Sitting her like what the fuck. Maybe it because im wearing sweat pants, and jewelry, maybe cause i sorta dont belong here, but im 6'4 365 pounds i know you cant say you didnt see the big black guy sitting here quitely waiting. After all the b.s. when the store finally dies down your only response is "sorry were willing to see you now" like im some beast. My phone was having issues and wouldn't turn on. I took my phone to this store to see if they could issue a warranty replacement for me. I was greeted very quickly when I arrived in the location and told the rep that approached me that my phone wasn't powering and I needed a warranty replacement. I grabbed a paper he had on the counter and told me to call the number on it and they would ship me one. I asked if he could assist me in calling since my phone wasn't working and I was informed the account holder could make the call. I told him I am the account holder and he still didn't want to help me. He never even asked me for my phone number to pull up my account or asked my name. Very poor service for a such a simple problem. I won't be returned to this location to purchase any phones or expect any customer service from them here. read more

OK I love Yelp but the reviews about the Verizon Store Grossmont Center were mostly bad and I had to change the vibe here. I've been going there for years ..every 2 for that matter and have always had amazing service. Yeah sometimes I get someone who is clearly new but always get treated great. This time I went for my upgrade just 3 days ago and spent my time there with David Sanchez. He was awesome! He not only helped me pick out my GalaxysIII but when it came time to see about car accessories he let me take them out to my truck to see which holder would be the best. I am super grateful for his help and I'm staying with this location for everything. Thanks David! I love my new Samsung Galaxy sIII!! Super great phone and love the camera especially. read more
