The ATT Store manager, Andre, explained everything carefully that I would experience if I switched my 4 lines from another carrier. He took the time to listen to my concerns and got to know something about me. He didn't attempt to "shoehorn" me into a plan I didn't need because he wanted the right fit...and he had done his homework about the plans ATT offered. But most of all, there was good "chemistry" in the way he interacted with me, sharing personal experiences that were appropriate and interesting about the phone and life. While I was there, a handful of other customers stopped by to pick up their phones that they had dropped off previously for apparent issues to be fixed. So there appeared to be "customer support" after the "sale." I don't think one can expect more than this in initial purchase or follow-on customer support for any consumer "thing"-- from buying a refrigerator, to tech gear, to a car. read more

Customer service leaves much to be desired. After going in to switch from T-Mobile, went through process of trading in and setting up phone for my wife and myself. After the new phone was setup, they went to process the trade-in. After an hour, they could not get the trade-in to process and said to come back tomorrow and they would be their to process. I went the next day and the original staff member was not there as mentioned he would be. Another staff member proceeded to tell me they cannot do the trade-in and I now need to go to a corporate store who has a separate system to process trade-ins. My husband and I stopped in here today with the expectation of paying our AT&T bill in person rather than sending in a check as usual. The reason for this was because we had changed to ATT U-verse a few months ago and they had sent us a credit card for the $150 rebate and we just wanted to put it back into the account. He was told over the phone that if he paid with it over the phone that would be a five dollar and some cents charge to use the card. He thought perhaps if we went in in person they could just swipe the card and use the full amount to pay our bill. The young man who helped us, Casey, was very very nice, but explained that because they were an authorized retailer, not a direct ATT facility, he could not run the card through. I think if we had just been paying a mobile phone bill with a regular credit card he probably could have done it but I didn't ask about that. I think the whole issue was the fact that it was the rebate card issued by AT&T. He said that we can pay it that way by going into the store in Santee, across from the Costco, or the one on Jamacha road. He even wrote down the addresses for us. So while we left with our mission unaccomplished, I still have to give the store a good rating for how pleasant the employee was to us. Grossmont Center had never had an AT&T store before which was somewhat inconvenient, so I'm glad there is one now. In fact there is not just one but two in the center now. I don't understand why there are two stores the same but for people using ATT cell phones I guess that would be a bonus. read more

Zaid (store manager) provided excellent customer service. He helped straighten out a mistake made over the phone by an AT&T customer service representative this morning when she was helping me setup my internet/tv bundle. Zaid explained everything in detail for both the internet and tv services that AT&T has to offer. He gave me the pros and cons of both Direct TV AND U-Verse. He was very polite and very well educated in his occupation. He even took time to make sure to see if Direct TV was going to work for my apartment, calling my apartment manager and speaking with her, because for DIRECT TV to work optimally, they have to have the satellite facing in the South East direction, and since my apartment faced North East, and my apartment doesn't allow any installation of satellite to the rooftop or to any foundation of the building, satellite would probably not be my best option. Zaid, provided me and set me up with Internet and instead of Direct TV, we agreed on U-Verse which doesn't use satellite, therefore being a better option for me. Zaid even went ahead and helped me set autopay, which I know I can simply do that myself, but the simplicity of him doing it for me was just easier since my account was pulled up already, saving me $5 monthly on my bills. This morning I was stressed out trying to figure out what went on over the phone when I initially set up internet and Direct TV and why it wasn't going accordingly to plan, but with Zaid's help with clarifying everything up and redoing my internet/tv bundle to U-Verse, I left the store stress free. read more

do NOT go here for any AT&T phone needs. I specially was helped by a female, I will withhold her name, when I received my iPhone 13. I turned in an old phone for a discount on each bill, and while I was there I saw a 25% discount for nurses. When she told me what my next bill would cost, I asked her why. She said I thought you would want this plan based on your usage, so she took it upon herself to make changes to MY account without MY permission. Also added insurance without my permission. (Clearly she gets commission) Anyways. My bill previously bill Pre new phone was roughly $69 and was now $121 thanks to this lady. had to call not 1 time but 3, where each and every time i was told everything she added was removed and it wasn't. Today, just today, I finally talked to someone in customer service who fixed my bill and credited me everything she applied to my account after 52 minutes of my time. I literally felt scammed. I hope I have the right AT+T store for my review. I visited the Grossmont Center La Mesa store # 286 today due to a few technical issues I've been having with my IPhone. Facebook kept crashing, not sure how to install the latest update but my TRUE issue was, HOW can I save all my photos without the fear of losing them. Juan (Nico) and Giovanni were SO awesome !!! They were SO professional and knew exactly how to fix all my issues. I was VERY nervous about losing my photos, as it has happened to me in the past with my last iPhone and I truly appreciated their understanding my fears BUT they assured me that would not happen as they fixed everything. Went in for first net...they put me as a regular AT&T customer so I was billed wrong for 4 months. Should of known it was an issue when 3 people had to figure out how to set up a first net account. I went back in to speak to estevan for a solution and he didn't care nor help with anything, he just gave me a number which was wrong! I'm still dealing with customer support to fix my billing. In May 2017, I purchased a Galaxy Express 3 from the AT&T across from the Bath & Body Works in Grossmont Center, La Mesa, CA. Marcelino was my sales person and he was very helpful in making the sale to me. However, the phone took only a very few photos and then it refused to let me view them or even delete them. It kept saying it didn't have enough memory. I had been recovering from surgery and figured I just needed more memory. So I purchased some SD cards at Costco for the phone. I expected to be home free after I installed the chip, but I was not. The phone kept saying it didn't have any memory. I couldn't open any photos and I couldn't even delete any photos. It was stalled at the same point saying there was no memory to do anything. This afternoon, I finally took it back to the same AT&T store and as luck would have it, I got Marcelino again. I was pleased b/c he had been so helpful initially when he was making the sale. But today was different. He fiddled with it and said it was fixed; that the SD card wasn't pushed in far enough. But when I tested it to try to open the photo Gallaxy, it did the same exact thing. I really needed the phone to take photos b/c my camera is in the shop and I needed the phone to take photos in the meantime. Marcelino told me there was nothing he could do. There were no other customers in the store and he and his co-worker didn't appear busy, so I felt he was just playing me. He said the chip had to be programmed by a "special machine" at Costco. That I needed to take it back to Costco b/c only they could program the chip and he could not. Even though I did not have time to spare on a Friday evening, I immediately went to Costco. There were two very helpful guys there. I waited until they were done with their customers and then they were very determined to help me solve my problem. Uh, btw, there is no "special machine" at Costco that does this! I was not happy b/c Marcelino had me running all around b/c he apparently couldn't be bothered to fix the phone for me after he had made the sale. At least that is definitely how I felt. The guys at Costco fiddled around for a bit and figured it out. THEY did it. Yey!!! No biggy. I LOVE COSTCO. They always take care of their customers. Bottom line is that I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the f/u disinterested assistance I received (or rather didn't receive) at this AT&T store. There are two AT&T stores at Grossmont Center, the one I'm complaining about is the one near the Bath & Body Works, not the one near the theaters. This is not so much a review of this store, but a review of AT&T as a whole. I was a loyal AT&T customer for 10 years, never missed a bill, never played the pity card with them, just an honest customer. Then one day I go into an AT&T store (not this one) and update my cell phone from a flip phone to a smart phone back in 2013. The sales people were helpful and made it sound like I was good to go. Then a week later and I am getting hit by a very expensive bill, something in the ball park of $220 bill for one month. Something about breaching my contract. I called AT&T, explained my situation and the lady on the phone said "too bad, we are going to stick it to you" in so many words. Needless to say, I quit AT&T and moved on to T-Mobile (a superior company with better prices). This is a warning to all AT&T customers, I would suggest leaving AT&T for good and move onto a better cell phone company. read more

Finally Grossmont changed their AT&T store. Because I went here before and tried to purchase a phone, and they said they weren't a "real" store. Haha then wtf do you do all day then I thought to myself. But now this store is a ALIVE and sells and functions like one of the other stores. The only reason I choose to come to this store is because of the location. I rather deal with Grossmont Center traffic vs. Mission Valley nonsense. I come here very frequently because I have the worst luck with technology and always lose my phone or I have a malfunction. People here are really laid back and are willing to help you. Everytime I go, there is no one in the store, which is a good thing for me because then I don't have to wait to get my problem solved. I actually went here the other day to get a new sim card because someone jacked my phone. Sluts! I didn't know how to tell my mom because I knew she would be super pissed off and it would just stir into world war 3 lecture blah blah blah. We were just checking but liked his service that we bought two new Samsung Galaxy S5 Active phones. Do NOT use this satellite/contract store. Go to a company store or regret it when you get your bill. We went in to upgrade my daughter's phone and got all kinds of assurances and promises that were all untrue. Then they added upgrades and insurance packages to my bill without my consent. I've spent several HOURS on the phone with ATT fixing the problems and getting credits, though not for everything. Apparently, small claims is filled with complaints from these type of stores. Bought a Galaxy S5 Active from these "people". I bought the Active because I'm a kayaker and it has an IP65 rating. That means it's supposed to be able to be submerged for 30 mins up to 3 feet deep. I had the phone for four months, I fell in the water, I was in the water for 3 mins max the phone was never deeper than about a foot. The phone failed. I brought it in and ATT refused to honor the IP65 rating and suggested I contact Samsung. Of course ATT expects me to continue paying for my phone that doesn't work. They have a surprise coming... Went in to the store to upgrade my Apple Watch. The young lady who was working was the only employee in the store. She was telling another customer her coworker should have been on the clock 10 minutes prior to her saying that. About 10 minutes later a man walked in and left his belongings in the back then walked out. Since he went in the back I'm assuming he is an employee so I'm unsure as to why he didn't help the young lady who had 5 additional people waiting to be helped. After 25 minutes of waiting the young lady attempted to ask what brought me in. She asked for my phone number and entered it into her tablet. She asked for it again and walked away and proceeded to help a different customer. I left because this was absolutely ridiculous. read more

Young male employee was unable to help my mom with her simple request. When she asked for the manager he told her there wasn't one available and he didn't take her name to forward it to a supervisor when one became available. Employee had no other suggestions regarding how to help her. Patronizing older people and not figuring out a way to help them after AT&T has been overcharging her for years highlights their abysmal customer service. Online support is just as bad and will not email her back how to reset a forgotten password. They only want to text a reset code to her but her phone is not functional. In order to get a new phone she needs her password but no one could help her figure out a workaround even after 2 hours in the phone and an hour in the store. She's been calling AT&T all morning again today and she keeps getting disconnected. Sprint /Ti mobile is cheaper and has better service. Shame on AT&T and their Grossmont center store. read more

My wife and I came into AT&T (store next to bath & body works) about 3 weeks ago looking to trade in our phones and activate new service switching from T-mobile. We were able to take advantage of the BOGO deal that was going on with AT&T and able to save money on our monthly phone bill while upgrading to new iPhone 8s for both of us. Mike did a great job setting both of our phones up and even stayed past the time he was supposed to get off to make sure we were set up correctly. We came into the same store today to trade in our old iPhones and turn in our old bill from T-mobile in order to get our trade off amounts. Zaid, the store manager was extremely helpful and went beyond what we were hoping to come in for. He was very professional, kind and very knowledgeable. There was a misunderstanding with how the process of the trade in works and where the money would be applied but Zaid took care of us and provided excellent customer service. Zaid made sure to break down our monthly bill for us, went out of his way to make sure we were covered and did the best he could to help us save money. This is the first time receiving excellent customer service in the wireless industry and I definitely recommend him to anyone looking for service with AT&T. He will definitely take care of you and provide any information and help that you need. Thank you again Zaid! Much appreciated for all your effort and help. Yikes. I went here for the first time today because I planned on getting a new phone. Back home, I have a fantastic AT&T and I expected the same service but was severely disappointed. I walked in and immediately noticed the lack of cleanliness and organization in the store. This particular observation was not necessarily important to me as long as service was on par...and it wasn't. There were three younger males behind the counter that appeared to be best friends killing time on the job. One was assisting an older woman and the other two just stood there and immaturely laughed and joked with each other. Finally, one associate remembered that he was supposed to offer assistance and asked how he might help me. Bonus! The phone I requested was unavailable. Typically, in this situation, I would expect an associate to offer solutions to this minor problem. Perhaps, mentioning the restock date so that I may return? Maybe sell me a better phone? With a big smile on his face, the associate simply said, "...go to radioshack." Two seconds later, I walked across the way to radioshack and experienced the best customer service I have ever had. Good job, AT&T Grossmont. You get 1 star for referring me to a professional place that could actually take care of me. I'll be sure to bypass your store and go straight to radioshack or another AT&T next time. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would have. So let's pretend that 1 star isn't filled in. *Buyer beware! I really wish I hadn't gotten involved with this company. It was an aweful, stressful, and frustrating experience. It started when I decided to try a Galaxy S3. I've always been an iPhone person, but I had never tried an android before so I thought, since I had just broke my iPhone, I would give the Galaxy S3 a try. After about a week, I decided it just wasn't for me. Before purchasing it, I had made it a point to ask about the return policy, and how my AT&T upgrade status would be affected if I returned the phone. The manager, who was handling my purchase, assured me that the upgrade would be reversed (allowing me to purchase another phone for the greatly discounted price that goes with an upgrade upon renewing one's contract). I was also assured that I could order the new iPhone 5 (not yet released at time of purchase) and hold onto the Galaxy until the iPhone 5 arrived (otherwise I would have no phone in the interrum). It all sounded excellent and easy. Unfortunately, this would prove not to be the case. The day before the iPhone 5 was released, I decided to go back to My Wireless and have them preorder the iPhone 5 for me. The saleswomen however, informed me that I could not do that, since my upgrade was already used for the Galaxy phone, and I would have to return it first (so the upgrade would be reversed), then order the iPhone 5. As I mentioned before, this wasn't an option, since I had no back up phone (and I use my phone as my business phone as well, since I own my own business, and couldn't afford to be out of touch with my clients). I left and decided to try and wait in line for the iPhone the next morning, when it was released. I was dreading this, since I had always been of the mind that I could just wait and get the phone when it was more easily attainable...and I really wasn't excited about waking up crazy early and sitting on a cold concrete sidewalk for several hours. I showed up in front of My Wireless at 6:30am and was the only person there (which threw me at first and I started worrying I had the wrong release date in mind!). The store should have opened at 8am, but they didn't open their doors until 8:25am. I was in high spirits though, because I was first in line, yay!:) I walked up to the counter and told the same manager as before that I would like to exchange my Galaxy for the iPhone. He then informs me that he can't do that. Exchanges will only be allowed for the 2nd shipment of phones (at the end of the month), not the 1st. I had to leave empty handed. I went to the Santee AT&T store, where the salesman told me that that was not the case at all, and had my phone come from AT&T instead of an authorized dealer, I could have pre ordered the phone while hanging onto the Galaxy, or I could have made the exchange now. They still had a couple of iPhones left, so I hurried back to My Wireless to return my Galaxy. The manager informed me that, they couldn't process my return until 2pm or later (it was currently 10:30am) because they were so back logged from the morning iPhone 5 sales. I stared at him in disbelief, I had never been told to wait several hours before I could make a return. He told me service was a first come first serve basis, and all these other clients (who had gone home and left their paperwork behind) had priority. I was thinking to myself, wasn't I technically the 1st person in the store this morning! At 2pm I finally was able to return my phone. And as the AT&T salesman had told me to do, I requested to see the screen that verified they had reversed my upgrade (apparently this store has a reputation in the phone world for poor service, shady dealings, and not reversing people's upgrades). I returned my phone, only to discover a few days later (after reviewing my credit card statement), that My Wireless didn't actually refund my money for the phone, they charged me a 2nd time for it! Back at the AT&T store, they had already sold out of phones (not surprising). AT&T was helpful and recommended buying a cheap $20 go-phone from Walmart to hold me over until I could get an iPhone 5. Thankfully, they received a new shipment the next day and I finally got my new iPhone. What a tedious, frustrating ordeal! I would absolutely NOT recommend My Wireless. Avoid this store like the plague! P.S. They also apparently hate the iPhones there. When I was buying the Galaxy (it took about 1-1.5 hours!) they spent most of the time bashing the iPhone. When a couple came in asking about the iPhone 5, one of the cashiers (who was the most vocal about disliking the iPhone) started pressuring the couple into buying an Android instead. It was very uncomfortable and bizarre. The couple left after a few minutes...I would have to, had I been them! read more

If only yelp can do negative stars. For YEARS I would get my phone from the Apple store when ready for a new one. Why?? Cause the people that work at Apple don't mess with your plan or screw you over. I should've just stuck with paying $850 for the phone instead of going here. I have been "grand fathered" into the unlimited data plan. I went in to this store because I didn't have $850 to crap out for a new phone. I decided that putting money down and adding $20/mo to my bill wasn't too bad. I was wrong and I REGRET coming to this store. Out comes Greg... "store manager" to help me with getting the phone. I told Greg what I wanted... "I want the Iphone 6S Plus 64GB. I'm going to put money down and do monthly payments (I did my research before going in). I do NOT want to mess with my plan. I. DO. NOT. WANT. TO. CHANGE. MY. PLAN." Greg tells me that we "don't use that much data... blah blah blah... You can save money." I STILL tell him "No. If I want to change anything I will come back and talk to you." Monday night I get an email saying that I have used over 75% of my data. Log into my account and sure enough my plan changed. Ummmmmm..... WTF. Call At&T Tuesday morning to be told that my plan was changed the day I upgraded. This d-bag took it upon himself to change my shit after telling him no. In 3 days... THREE DAYS.. I was almost over my data. Called him to confront him about it and he blatantly lies and says he didn't. And told me "why would I change your plan from an unlimited plan to a 3GB plan when I was trying to get you onto another unlimited plan?" Why you ask... Because you make more money getting me off my plan. Still lied and says he didn't change it. RIIIIIIIIGHT. It magically changed on its own. Just man up and admit it. You got caught. But he didn't. Figures. In the end... after an hour on the phone with At&T... I am back to my original plan. I do not... DO NOT recommend this store to anyone. And if you happen to go into this store hopefully it's to punch Greg! LOL! read more

I normally do not like to write bad reviews, but I don't want to see anyone else go through what I have been going through. I bought three phones, and realized they did not work because I did not have service at my place of employment. Four days later I returned the phones and I got my refund. Not a problem.. They refunded me for the phones I purchased. That was two months ago. I am getting a bill from their collection dept. for $380.00. I called AT&T and they say..... You are correct. you do not have an account with us. The $380.00 is just a mix up. Please go to the AT&T authorized dealer and they will call our collections dept. I went to this place and they said they remember me and they will also take care of it. I am still getting harassing phone calls and letters saying I owe this bill. Normally I would not even worry about it but they can actually put this on my credit report. End result... This has been an unsolved problem as I write this. I went back to sprint with no problem and actually got better service and a better deal than I had before. read more

14 days to return your phones or you're screwed with it. States on the receipt; understood, but day one starts on the day of purchase. Technically you have 13 days. Staff not willing to understand the situation. Manager, Chris said its out of his control. I'm pretty sure if it was one day or in my case 10 days over; they could waive it if they really wanted to try. He told me to call it in and they might help. I sense there's no need to go out of their way and call it in with me and ask to over ride it. The point of the tattle tale is that you only have 13 days before you decide to return with a restocking fee. This location seems dead, staff all on their phone, and they're great to you when money is coming in; but leave you hanging if you're trying to return anything pass the "14" days mark. I don't recommend this place, but who am I to say. read more
