My Android phone was pure frustration, especially the lack of enough memory to support all the apps I need and the amount of data I generally consume. Worse, I got stuck with many of the same problems on the two previous mobile phones. Multiple annoyances. Sam and Angelo showed me a Motorola Android upgrade that can handle all my technical needs, including the cell software I need for work. They were very patient in explaining plan features and costs, showing me phone models that fit the bill, and even transferring my data to the new phone. I recommend this store. Meticulous. It's hard to find another business that fits the essence of this word so well. The owners here are efficient, good communicators, and VERY VERY organized. I've never had such good service at a Verizon dealer. I've never had such good service, period. But first a little backstory. I am shit with smart phones apparently. My first phone I accidentally took kayaking with me. It didn't survive the adventure. I've lost, replaced, or destroyed more smartphones than a classroom full of angsty teenage girls. The deal is, I'd been having major issues with my S3 for months now. The thing is a molasses speed piece of crap that never knows where I am (read: the GPS does not lock on---apparently this is a reoccuring thing with Samsung phones, because I've gone through 2 of them now and its the same issue each time). S3 #1: No GPS lock after 6 months. Dropped once. Screen dies a slow painful death. Time to renew. S4: Came with new contract. Works great. Flies out of pocket on a motorcycle ride to OC. Fuggin Weep. S3: #2: Not up for contract renewal. OC Verizon says fuck you and makes me buy one for $500. Works great for 2 months. GPS dies a slow painful death. Back to square one. So I check in to MD Wireless. The problem is my contract doesn't renew till August. No good. I'm not gonna shell out $600 for another new phone. This is where everything was different. They were not only able to keep my unlimited data plan, which Verizon is dickishly trying to phase out, but also explain to me, step by step, how they were going to be able to hook me up with a new G2 for ~$200 (read: this was a $500-600 phone at time of purchase) by tweaking my account. They were consummate professionals throughout the entire process and explored every opportunity to save me the most money possible in my transition to a new phone. Cannot recommend these guys enough. Now I am having a hard time understanding why a business with construction going on that has a big banner hanging over the door that says open during construction but when you go there the doors are wide open open but they say they are closed. So apparently they are open cause the doors were open but as far as open for business as they stated that's a total understatement so maybe the sign should come down and say they are closed is more realistic. read more

I went into the Verizon Store on Midway not expecting much at all. In fact I was highly irritated with Verizon's terrible customer service at the store on Garnet in Pacific Beach. Worst service I've ever had. So I went to the Corporate Store on Midway. Kat approached me and helped me. I had numerous issues, she took care of ALL my problems. I just love this place! Hands down the best Verizon store I've ever been to. My iPhone went for a fatal swim in the bay about 9 months ago and at the time I also needed to switch accounts and branch off to an entirely new plan. Not only did they have the iPhone I wanted in stock (in the most popular color), Peter went above and beyond to help me out with my tricky situation and I left the store with a brand new phone and plan, which he walked me through every step of the way, making sure I got a plan that worked for me at the cheapest possible price. No smoke and mirrors here! Today I returned to the store because I was so happy with the screen protector and case that I purchased along with my iPhone that I wanted to get an exact replacement to keep my phone in tip top shape. I want to be careful what I say here to be fair. I have done business with this store for many months. The boost mobile service had a lot of problems with it, such as international calling plans not always working in Mexico. I have never been impressed with the boost mobile company per se. I stayed with the phone because the people at the store were alaways very helpful, even on the multiple occasions when the problem was not boost mobile but my own technical incompetence. For that i am grateful, and if you like boost mobile itself i think this is a pretty good store. However, I received a free phone for switching calling plans and the battery is defective. The warantee has not expired. Boost mobile made things very very difficult. Rather than a live oerson i was instantly funneled to a trouble shooting line with a recorded voice that told me i couldnt call from my own phone. When i went to the store, the employee helped me out. We were put on hold for a half hour before we could speak to anyone. Finally a woman picked up and when the employee explained we knew what the problem was and just needed them to honor the warantee she claimed not to be able to help me because my pin was supposedly incorrect. The employee stood up for me, telling her he knew that was a lie because he was the dealer and had all the records right in front of him. She put us on hold again for over half an hour yet again. Finally the manager, who has always helped in the past, said they obviously wouldnt talk to us and asked me to come back later because they were doing inventory. I explained that i had to take time off work because the service promised wasnt being delivered and i didnt think i should have to lose money closing my business another afternoon so he could keep his open when I was not profiting from Boost mobiles poor if not dishonest service. I said if boost wouldnt help he should just give me a new phone or stay on the line and keep helping me. He woukdnt. I understand his position but i make extra effort in my company to honor customer commitments and i think he should have too. I cannot recommend boost mobile and i no longer think their customer service is able to make up the difference. read more

I went in here to get a new Verizon plan, and totally got what I asked for without the annoying hassle that other Verizon retailers try to sell you on when you just come in for a simple thing. I have been with Verizon for over 20 years and have been to many other San Diego locations and by far, this was the best customer service I ever received. I was getting ready to switch carriers because of poor service from other stores and then received an email stating I could upgrade early. This location was near my gym so I walked in and showed Cody the email. He confirmed I was eligible and reassured me my monthly phone bill would stay at a similar price point. I was on my way to gym, so left my phone with him so he could transfer data and take care of paperwork. I walked back in the store an hour later and EVERYTHING was taken care of...even all the rebate paperwork was in a postage paid envelope and all I had to do was drop it in the mail!! WOW! Look at all the five star reviews- for a PHONE STORE!!! take note, Verizon, etc. This place ALWAYS has Impeccable service. Peter is polite, goes the extra mile, and smart. If not for this place, I would not be with Verizon because like all the companies- they are the Devil, but Peter and the staff I have encountered here have taken a previously nightmarish situation, and Boop! problem solved!!! I have come in here several times because Verizon was just too hard to deal with over the phone and in the store on Sports Arena- Horrible!! I randomly stopped in here, and it was like the clouds parted and the sun shined on me again....all of my problems solved...quickly, painlessly...He reversed the charges the petty Verizon person charged me, and they were off, and then Verizon tried to sneak them on again and Peter had to take them off AGAIN! But he did it, happily- and it was so nice!!!! AND THEN....Months later- I'm across the street at the Home Goods store and I realize I left my phone in my friends car-- I ran over to MD Wireless, and Peter used find my Iphone and found my phone, and helped call my friend and get it back for me!
