Came into T-Mobile at the Grossmont Mall location about 45 minutes before closing because I was having issues with my internet modem constantly lagging and not working well. I learned that my older modem had been phased out and replaced with a newer white 5G version that also includes an extender. I normally pay around $50 a month with AutoPay, so I was a little surprised to hear the upgraded modem package would increase the bill to about $65 a month. Still, I decided to make the switch in hopes that the upgraded equipment would provide a more stable connection with less lag and fewer dropped signals. The process itself went fairly smoothly and didn't take too long. The representative explained that I needed to return the old modem as soon as possible. Luckily, with about 15 minutes left before closing, we were able to come back and return the old box without any issues and were given a receipt confirming the return, which I definitely appreciated. As far as customer service goes, it was overall okay. The representative helping us was cool, although maybe a little rough around the edges personality-wise. There were a few customers who came in after us that seemed anxious or frustrated about their phone situations, and it just reminded me that customer service interactions can really go either way sometimes depending on both the customer and the staff member. Thankfully, I personally didn't have any major issues and was able to get in and out fairly quickly. I did like the layout of the store. Everything looked modern, organized, and they had plenty of displays featuring upgraded phones, internet products, and accessories. One thing worth noting is that some issues can be handled directly in-store while other situations may require visiting a corporate location that handles more advanced account or technical matters. If you're unsure, I'd definitely recommend calling ahead first so they can direct you to the correct location before making the trip. Overall, my visit was smooth, the exchange process was easy, and now I'm just hoping this upgraded internet setup performs much better than the previous one for the added monthly cost. read more

I'm writing to formally express my deep frustration with AT&T's handling of my recent attempt to activate service. My experience has been unacceptable on multiple levels. After paying off my phone with Verizon, I decided to switch to a more affordable plan--ideally around $40/month--and keep using my existing phone, which is in perfect working condition. I went to an AT&T representative, clearly stating I did not want a new phone--I just needed basic service activated on my current device. What followed was two and a half hours of wasted time--on my only day off--with my dog waiting in the car and a friend visiting from out of town. After all that, the representative told me I was being signed up for a new phone plan at $53/month, and that I would still be able to use my old phone. That was never what I asked for. To make matters worse: * The new phone was mailed to the wrong address. * My current phone still has no service. * I have been charged, yet received no usable service or device. * I've been told repeatedly to go back and forth between Target (the third-party vendor) and the AT&T corporate store--I've done that four times. * I've spent hours on the phone, transferred between multiple representatives, and no one has resolved the issue. At this point, I've paid for a service I never requested, been sent a phone I didn't want, and I'm still left with no working phone and no refund. All I wanted was affordable service on my existing device. Instead, AT&T has taken my money, wasted my time, and left me without even the most basic customer support. I am requesting the following immediately: 1. A full refund for any unauthorized charges. 2. The cancellation of any new phone plan and device I never agreed to. 3. Immediate activation of service on my current, paid-off phone--or assistance in porting my number back to another carrier. read more

I called and said I was ready to come in and upgrade two phones, I was hoping to make an appointment so they knew we wanted to discuss our options...all the guy kept saying to me was, "k," "k," "k," and I FINALLY hung up. I called about three hours later and got a woman who kept saying hello. Were they not hearing me? Neither person had the professionalism to even answer a phone call...how can they provide great customer service when I get there? Barely identifying where I called and who I was speaking with. Dial 611 and talk to the people there...Queue Torres at 611 was professional, polished and very good at what he does. I highly recommend this route to avoid this location at all cost. Hidden place and hard to locate if you follow the GPS, but when you are from Grossmont Center food court heading down passing the outlet store it will be on your right, by the corner of Walmart. Fast and easy service, came in for my T Mobile Tuesday and redeemed my umbrella, the staffs were very nice and friendly. Though he dropped the wrap of my umbrella but didn't bother to attach it back, I thought it was odd and had to open the umbrella to inspect myself to make sure nothing was wrong. read more

I went here because this was supposed to be the better location. In the beginning it was. Crystal was legit. She explained everything and I told her that I was moving etc.... She checked both locations said I was good. Omar was there so during the 26days I was a T-Mobile customer I was trusting and tolerant of him/them (she took time off or whatever) 1st 5g gateway... out the box it was broke. Screen was shattered from the inside. Can't call them because that number doesn't contact. If you don't believe me, call it. Returned it, dealt a stupid long line that had no order. Witnessed a person come in and snap. Also witnessed sales people shooting their shots with the ladies. Sales person set up their end on my gateway wrong. Found this out the 3rd rotation of 5g gateway expert (finally). Dude was legit. During this they made me go through the back twice. Like some old school segregation... I looked at this... again no order to this. Also Omar (on the time back there) was talking to me like I was a idiot. Mansplaining, gaslighting, condescending nature while having no real idea about the technology he was talking about. I put up with it... Whatever, my stuff worked... I'm out. Again with the segregated exit. 5 gateway takes a dump and resets during class. I go back (because it's quicker and easier than dealing with T-Mobile via phone). I go there explain the issue to make things easier. Freaking Omar lies to me, cuts me off while talking, puts words in my mouth and tries to upsell me. Apparently according to him my thing reset due to location. Even though I had good signal and it was the exact same setup (including issues) as the first place. Controlling narrative... Even though no narrative needs to be controlled. Cause I literally came in and just asked for a new one and to update my address. He backed away when his lies went to "code" and I said "oooh code, I know code, what about the code?" He really tried to tell me that the issue was "locked in" $50 unlimited and needs to be changed to a different plan... bruhhhh even though without checking my account he said that I work from home and use a ton of data. Also, I never said that but ok. I basically ignore his trash and tell him to don't update address and get me a new one. So I see him sabotaging the new 5g gateway. Because he's acting suspect and taking longer. Also he didn't test it in the store like he did last time. Oh btw I have 2 degrees in communication electronics and IT. And I have 10years professional, corporate IT experience. Some of which in this area. But since I don't fit techy stereotypes... Point is I know this technology WELLLL. It was so bad that when Omar when away the customer asked me about his gateway. I explained the technology to him etc. I didn't bad mouth anything. But Omar assumes that I did and tries to discredit me. Customer asked him a feeler question. Omar lied/fluffed up the answer. Customer said "thanks" and then customer genuinely thanked me. All the 5g gateway is, is a boosted up hotspot... nothing wrong with that. Hardware from this store is trash Talked to the 5g gateway expert (lucked out). Hardware was trash but also I was right. Location was good and Omar did sabotage it. Sooo even if it was good hardware, it wouldn't have worked. Told the person about the whole situation and he said they'll contact the manager cause that is poor behavior... I told them that, that was the manager. They were like "wow". Not going to go back for a 4th device in 26 days... especially when the manager is trying to force me into changing data programs so I pay extra on data that I'd go over or whatever else. Went to close my account. Some sales douche. He was a douche to me before. Kinda sad cause we're both vets and so was the girl he was trying to shoot his shot with before... The young man said it was a simple task of putting my SIM card from one device into the other. He worked hard to get it to fit but no go. Long story short, I purchased one that only uses WiFi, not cellular too. I didn't know to look for that! He said they run around $269. Ahh.. that's why the deal was so good! I had already told him I wasn't looking for another payment plan since I'm on one for my phone and didn't want to add another lime - the tablet would've been free. Wow. This t mobile store doesn't want your business. I came in the inquire about 2 different accounts. My mobile and my home internet. The 2 kids that were helping me wouldn't let me get a word out without talking over me using mobile-ease. When I asked him if we could communicate in one language he turned on me. Karina ( the very powerful assistant manager) butt in and said the same "it's not stackable ". To me. I asked if she condoned the way the kids were speaking to me. So I went to this store because they had a phone I purchased online in stock. I went to the store and had to wait 20-25 mins for assistance. The sales person then tells me that I have to wait another 25 mins because the phone I reserved for myself was now assigned to someone else. How this happened I have no idea. I called customer service and they said that my phone was cancelled at 11:57 am but the person actually cancelled the order at 12:23 per T Mobile customer service, why, neither I nor customer service knew. I generally like TMobile and the service at this location. This is to draw attention to an issue that has been bothering me. A few weeks ago I was in for a few routine questions. While the rep was tinkering with my phone I noticed him activate a couple of accounts that I'm not interested in. TMobile and Samsung updates and notifications that bog my phone. He probably thought he was doing me a favor or maybe he gets credit for activating certain accounts with his ID or some other promotional bs. What ever it is I wish he had asked my permission before activating them. All the bells and whistles can be very distracting. Don't to unauthorized stuff on other people's phones. It's inappropriate and can be a fing nuisance. Ask first. read more

I went in to get my screen protector changed (which I pay for the monthly insurance to do so) on my iphone xr and the worker took one look at my xr and said "we dont carry this screen protector in store anymore.". So I informed him that I just recently had it changed a few months ago. So I asked if he could check if theres any in stock at other T-Mobile stores and he said "no tmobile store would have this in stock" and I asked him to check and he didnt but responded with "i wouldnt lie to you" and informed me I would have to order it online through T-Mobile. I went to the T-Mobile less than a mile away and boom in stock. A simple look up would have been nice. This worker needs a job he actually likes. We decided to switch to T-Mobile because a couple of my friends were sharing how great their service is and I was having issues with my prior carrier, who shall not be named. I did not realize all the benefits you get from their standard service! A lot of great promos like Apple TV and Netflix!! Also free International text and wifi. Which if you are like me trying to complete your bucket list (outside the US) over the next few years, it's great to not have to pay extra for that!! Also the staff was amazing we were serviced by the associate manager (Ale) Alexandra, she was so happy to answer all my questions and, she was patient with me through the whole process. The guy that runs this store is awful. He and his employees don't know anything. Last year when we got our internet equipment he out the wrong information in the system and we had to spend ours with customer service on the phone to fix his screw-up. Today we went to return the equipment and cancel the account and he was clueless. He stay yelling at me when I asked if they had ever processed a return. He was rude and angry and crazy. Today, when we walked into the store, Anthony greeted us with a joyful welcome, and when we told him that we had bought 2 new IPhone 12s and didn't know how to work them, and that my husband did not like the color that he selected.... Anthony was so willing, capable, joyfully, and brilliant at helping us. He knows his talent better than anyone that we have EVER assisted us with cell phones. My experience here was not good unfortunately. I came in to trade my old phone in for a new one. In the past this has been pretty easy and the person was helpful. Not this time. I was taken care of by a young lady name Christina Espinoza. She was not very friendly or welcoming, in fact it didn't seem as if she wanted to help me at all. She immediately tried to suggest the least expensive phone, made a comment about me being sure what phone I wanted because I couldn't return it which was insulting. Left me sitting in the lobby for 15 mins or more . She kept telling me I was going to have to pay all these high dollar amounts to exchange the phone, turns out she was WRONG. She didn't take the time to review my account before giving me options she just made assumptions about me and my account with T-Mobile. She made my experience there confusing, insulting, unhelpful, an time consuming. She needs coaching and to stop making assumptions about customers before assisting them. To treat everyone with dignity and respect. I ended up having to go to another location because she didn't set my new phone up correctly. Very irritating experience overall. read more
