We decided to see what Verizon had to offer my wife and myself, so we went to the store at grossmont. Michael helped us switch over from AT&T and made it a smooth process. He was very patient and explained everything in detail, and we were very happy that he helped us start a new contract with Verizon which saved us some money. I'll keep this short because, let's be honest, how many people want to read a rambling story about how awful a place is? Not me, and I assume you don't either. SO, if I had to choose one word to describe dealing with this place, it would be soul-sucking. We researched, signed up, got all the bells, whistles, and discounts a phone user would dream of...then the hammer dropped. Turns out we were just being told what we wanted to hear, none of those upgrades or discounts existed, and now we're out hundreds of additional dollars, and NO ONE will return our phone calls. This has been going on for TWO MONTHS. Please, heed my warning, and don't go to this Verizon. Better yet, go to another carrier altogether. Others may not be great, but anything is better than dealing with people who swindle, ignore, and trick you into losing all your money. I think I would lose less money at a casino! I don't recommend Verizon to anyone. They give poor customer service. I closed my account with them & transferred my number to another company I can't get my final bill. I am getting the runaround. 1. Can't get my bill because I no longer have an account. I did my transactions online (paperless). As soon as I transferred my account, I can't get access because the account is closed. Can't pay the bill without a copy or pdf of my final bill. I went in for the new iPhone XR and I'll admit I was a bit complicated with the way I wanted to add it to my plan. BUT HUNTER WAS AMAZING. Horrible service just came for upgrade to iPhone 12 almost did all work on my own with his own made u chargers whicH makes no sense. First day upgrade fee is $20 the five minutes later tells me it's $40 if I don't do it through my app. Second trip tried to activate my Apple Watch three times had no idea on how to do that. Beyond done losing money with this store. My last time going there. Been with Verizon for 11 years might have to get me a new provider. read more

We came in and the associate that helped us out Emory had an air pod in his ear listening/watching music videos on a tablet the entire time that he attempted to help us out. We asked for 2 iPhones 13 and were provided the iPhone minis, both phones were for my parents which are older and were not aware that they were provided the incorrect ones. Once we realized the associate had no idea what he was doing, we went back to the store to speak to the manager and of course he hid and did not want to speak to us. I bought a new IPhone from this store. I was told that part of the deal was trading in my old phone. I later found out the Store should have given me an envelope to mail it in. When I returned to the store (which you cannot reach by phone.....how ironic is that?) I was told I would need an appointment or have to wait 10 -15 min. An hour later, I was still waiting and after asking again, "Just give me the envelope....I don't NEED an appt....just an envelop", I was again rebuffed and left. Today, I went in to exchange the new charger I bought at the same time I bought the phone. "You need an appt!" "No, I don't need an appt, I just need you to exchange this". "We can't until you have an appt". "Yes, I can.....all you have to do is walk over there, pick a new charger off your display and exchange it for this one". "Well, I might have, but know that you've got an attitude, I don't think I will. If you want to go sit over there in the corner, maybe I'll get to it in a bit" No, I'm not making this up. And this was the Store Manager!!! At least she said she was when I asked. So, to summarize, unless you really relish abuse, I would strongly recommend that you take your business to a company other than Verizon! read more

Let me get the typical credentials out of the way Verizon customer since 1996 I pay way too much for what has typically been better service. When I have to go to a VZW store, I only go to company-owned stores, not the shady Mall kiosks. I have 4+ lines on my account, and often more. This store flat out lied to me like a guy selling speakers out of the back of a truck. I went in to assume my GF's line to help her save money as I have allot of data on my plan and she was paying too much. It should have been simple. The sales rep says to me, if you take a jetpack we can bundle the lines and her line charges with the jetpack will only total $36 instead of $40. I'm really taken aback as it was a flat out lie, the line charges are $20 for the jetpack, no discount on her line, it's still $40, and they want to charge me a restocking fee for the jetpack that I told him I did not need or want but took for the bundle that simply did not exist. I called him on this in the store while reviewing the receipts that VZW emailed me, and he said the discount won't apply until after the billing cycle. I called Verizon and they said this was not true and that I had to go back to the store to sort it out So I need to waste my Saturday fighting with some Verizon store manager? These tactics are why I go to Verizon-owned stores, but it is happening here now too. I am just too trusting I guess. I should also note that I did not sign for any of the account changes he put a small line in the box and just clicked next on his VZW tablet POS. I'm sure a lawyer would have something to go on just based on this fraud, but it is not worth it. read more

Don't come to this store. I had a problem with my Blackberry Tour 9630 and they replaced it with one that had the same issue after two weeks. It's not their fault, issues with the trackball are widely known, but they refuse to upgrade my phone until I sign a new contract, even after admitting that particular phone had issues. The BB Tour was so bad they were giving them away (two for one) but who needs two things that don't work as opposed to just one? Anyway, a manger there agreed to give me a new phone, different type. I went back a few months later to take him up on it and was told that I waited too long?! If you really want to know how bad this store is, try calling the phone number listed for them. I was wondering why this location had such a low star rating. I was used to going to the location in Oceanside and was always happy with their service. When I walked in, no one greeted me or signed me in. This was my 1st time so I was like ok.. I just needed to get a Zagg glass cover for my phone. So when I couldn't find it, I found someone who was now at the front who checked me in. He was pleasant. It was the next guy, Eugene-The I'm Too Good To Work Guy. He truly sucked at being nice. His whole demeanor and attitude was like whatever. I asked him what he needed from me and his answer "Well I'm gonna need your card" in a condescending tone. It takes a lot to offend me. From the moment I met him until the end, he didn't impress me at all. If most of the employees are like that here then I will go somewhere else. read more

First time at this location, and appears to be very under-staffed. When you have to wait in a queue of 10 plus people to simply checkout or do an exchange, frustration is inevitable. Get someone at the register to handle general transactions! People who want to check out (I.e. Buy a phone case or seshould not be required to wait in the same line as people upgrading phones or changing service. Very rude and belittling as we wrapped up the conversation and I expressed my concerns. A prime example of corporate America's lapse of communication between policy and procedure. I usually try & give stores the benefit of the doubt when i have a bad experience. This one CONTINUALLY disappoints and this last visit to this particular verizon store will be the last business they receive from me. 1st off, let me start off by saying that SHIT happens when it comes to your phone. I ended up dropping my phone into water (submerged actually) and removed everything immidiately and tried to dry it. I knew it was a lost cause & was due for an upgrade anyway so made my way to this verizon & went strait to the service tech guys on the inside of the mall (i have played this game once or twice before so i knew what to do this time) to see if a NEW battery would turn on my phone in order to transfer numbers. AND GUESS WHAT? IT TURNED ON! I was so completely & utterly happy UNTIL i told the guy that i will be going on the other side to purchase a new blackberry & would like him to kieep my phone w/ him so i wouldnt have to take that chance and remove that battery & pray it starts again w/ another. & GUESS WHAT THIS VERIZON "TECH" DID? HE IGNORED MY REQUEST AND TOOK OUT THE BATTERY & in the end my phone will no longer turn on & i can not get my numbers back!!!! I HATE that man w/ a passion!!!! read more

Sure, they try to put your name into the computer system how the Apple Stores do by tricking you into feeling as if you are important, but you're really not. Every time I have shown up with a cellphone issue, I have either been pushed to the side, or sent around the corner to that ridiculous kiosk where the employees tell you to go "back to the store" around the corner again; I feel like a dodgeball when I go here. My experience here is limited to helping my mother return a new iPhone 5 which was sold to her with the impression that it was the newest, latest, greatest IPhone. Of course it wasn't. The IPHONE 5S had just come out and they were sold out. Not missing a chance to have her sign a new 2 year contract she was given the impression that she was leaving with the latest and greatest phone. My 75 year old mother was pretty disappointed in the people there, and worse, she felt humiliated. I wasn't there for the sale, but the return. I patiently listened to the salesperson give the least logical explanation possible. She was clearly nervous and embarrassed, so I calmly asked for the manager. The manager quietly got on the computer and without me having to argue or raise my voice, unwound the entire sale. It was very much like catching a child writing on the wall and then see them hurry to try and clean up the mess. I hate writing such a negative review, but feel obligated here. I'm sure some of the folks who work here are fine people, but I have to say with regards to this specific transaction, it was an historic low mark hit by the team at this store. read more

Be very cautious with the staff here! They will attempt to up-sell you on everything. They lie through their teeth about "promos" that are non existent and will result in an additional charge on your statement. Do not accept the free first month of insurance! It's a total scam! When you call customer service to cancel the additional charges on your bill, they are only able to credit half of the amount because they expect you to read the 500 pages of fine print rather than trusting the staff. My cousin Laur Laur has Verizon through her job. Her phone needed some repairs so we went to the closest Verizon to her place, which is in Grossmont Center. The Verizon store is in between the Sports Authority and Wal-Mart. Parking can get tricky in this area of the lot so be patient. It was the middle of a weekday and we still had to circle around a few times. I'm not a huge fan of cellular stores because there's normally a long wait. Verizon's system makes you "check in" with a touch screen. You enter your name and why you're there. We were immediately called to the next open service rep. He was actually really good, cute, nice and down to earth. Gotta love local La Mesa boys. He helped us quickly. The only problem was, because Laur Laur's phone was through her work, she needed a password for the account. This proved to be more difficult than you'd think because no one in the office could remember it. We finally tracked it down and soon we were on our way. I was impressed by the quick service and enjoyed our guy's chatty personality. So 2 thumbs up Grossmont Center Verizon store! read more

Horrible service. They did not ask if I needed help even with three people behind the counter and only one customer. When I asked for help, the person behind the counter replied "What's up!". She did not offer any useful help so I left and decided to switch after 10 years. Customer service is very poor and their pricing is questionable. You get a different deal from every person you ask and at the end you end up paying just as much. They just put the pricing in a different way (all about perspective). I get a huge discount through work (supposedly) and although their chips are awesome and their actual signal speed is amazing, I just don't care about their customer service. read more

Do not walk in to this store. If you want to be seen, get an appointment. I walked in with my partner for a phone upgrade, checked in with no one else in the store, and waited an hour before leaving. The reps kept taking people with appointments ahead of us, which isn't the issue- we were never told a wait time. When we asked the greeter (quite nicely for having waited over an hour) the greeter got extremely defensive and threw his hands up saying "I can't give you a wait time, it depends and it always changes!" We understand that. A range will do. A number on the waiting list will do. They knew how many appointments they had. Just overall very rude and frustrating experience. I went in with my son last Friday to make some changes on our account. Everything started off smoothly, we didn't have an appointment and there was only one customer ahead of us. Right when we thought we were about done, there was a "glitch" that prevented us from completing the transaction. Haydee was extremely apologetic and reached out to two different store managers and the Verizon helpline. After two hours, nothing was resolved. The store manager took down whatever information they needed and assured us we'd be called the next day once they were able to work out the "glitch". As we were finally leaving, my son decided to look at a tablet. It was on sale and Haydee offered to waived the activation fee since we waited around so long. Sold. Several days went by and no follow up from the store. We finally got a call from the store yesterday AFTER I gave them a bad score on the survey I was emailed about my visit. The "glitch" was resolved the day before she called but the extra data we requested on our visit wasn't added... The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is for Haydee being so apologetic, as helpful as she could be during our visit and offering us water while we waited. read more

Her name is Sandra something. She smiled and asked if she could try to fix it. I thought really! This phone sucks! There is no way you can do it. We have tried everything short of hitting it with a hammer. Sandra just smiled and asked, May I see the phone.? I then told her that there is no way to fix. it. These people are ridiculous. They just write numbers all over their pieces of paper. Don't explain the fees. Don't tell you about fees. Then want to give attitude when you ask questions. It's horrible when one employee tells you one thing and then when you leave and come right back another employee tells you something completely different and acts like it's impossible and crazy that the first employee said those things. I have been a Verizon customer for years. For the most part I have had no issues with them except cost. I do feel I pay too much but not willing to switch. Went in a Verizon store in Rancho Mirage (Desert)..to hrlp my Mom since she list her cell phone. As we were leaving we were told they were having a manager special on a service called Hum..devices etc was FREE and charge was $10 a month. Its to have On Star service in car along with vehicle maintenance etc. The rep showed me all it could do on his phone. Really niffty features! I decided to go for it. First mistake, he put the account on my mom's account not mine? Huh? After I gave him all my info, Vin etc..I told him he HAD to FIX it. Went home, called, went back in store for another hour..Ok good to go..NOT. Had to drive back to SD where I live next day. Still not working. After 2 phone calls, 3 store visits, still not working. I'm DONE. This store 2 out of the 3 employees I dealt with seemed to know what they were doing. One thought the problem was my phone and suggested I'd upgrade..nope! No can do at this time. Heidi was the one who helped me return the service and was cool. Understanding.. I'm sorry things didn't work out as the service seemed pretty cool. December 16th 2017 The two managers at this store today, KANIELA and ALMA, were the rudest people I have ever encountered in a customer service capacity in my life. I had been at the store several hours trying to get help from Verizon, then Samsung to replace my brand new phone. When I approached them for help the last time they actually turned to each other laughing their heads off, and played Rock Paper Scissors FIVE TIMES in front of me to decide who was going to serve me!!!!! Yes seriously they did that. These are the type of people who are hired to represent Verizon in this store. I have had an account with Verizon for 8 years and usually do not go to this store as it is very noisy and the waits are long. Not only will I never to to this location again, I will cancel my account as soon as I am able if this is the type of treatment I am going to get from Verizon. My two month old Galaxy 8 quit working. Yesterday a very nice customer care specialist by the name of Tori Sarkis ordered a new phone for me and she told me to go into the store today so she could transfer my information from my non working phone to my new one. However I learned that the new phone they sent me was not a new one, but a refurbished one. Tori was out sick today, so could not help me. After 3 hours of going round and round with Verizon and Samsung I just wanted to change my phone to an Apple. I would have been happy to just transfer the two payments I made to the new IPOD. I got absolutely NOWHERE! Finally Samsung said they would send me a brand new phone. I asked KANIELA if he would transfer info from my broken phone onto the refurbished one so I could have a phone while I was waiting for my new phone to arrive. He said they don't transfer data. I had yet another problem with my Droid Incredible 2 and was so dreading coming in to the store because of past experiences, but my phone wasn't charging and I was almost out of battery. There were 7 people in front of me on the list, but it didn't take long before Shalia called my name and I prepared myself for a fight. Never happened. My phone was dead, but she tried cleaning the battery port just in case. Then we got into how I was eligible for an upgrade, what my options were, you know the drill. I was thinking it was about time for a new phone, and she gave us options about our plan and recommended a couple ways we could go. She went out of her way to try and find a discount through either my job or my boyfriend's, gave us lots of feedback on new phones, and was just generally awesome. We decided to both upgrade our phones and switch to a plan that should give us what we had been using and allowed us to keep paying the same every month. She answered a ton of questions, because it just took me awhile to wrap my head around all the different options. Shalia was professional, friendly, honest, funny and very useful. It's the best experience I've had in a Verizon, and if you go into that location, ask for her - you won't regret it. She's the reason I gave 5 stars. read more

David was thorough and had great communication about the options I could go with for my new phone in addition to saving money on our family plan. All six devices are now covered under a one year warranty. I feel safe now in case I get butter fingers again and shatter my screen. Our family have been loyal customers of Verizon for many, many years because we trust the company. They throw out a lot of information during the visit but always let me stop them to repeat themselves or explain something in a different way so I can understand it better. I totally get that Girl. Bad days are rough, but try to not take it out on customers! I saw her roll her eyes in response to another ladies issue...I get it, sometimes people can be annoying, but you work in customer service... then I got to meet with the person assigned to me and she seemed annoyed too.
