Verizon ripped me off so many times they scam people they said I owed them 5 grand my bill was on time every month they kept raising my bill even higher I wouldn't recommend Verizon to anyone read more

Verizon abruptly cut off my "landline" service so that I cannot make or receive calls. About 9 hours of dealing with bots and a chatline put me in a loop that never ended and solved nothing. It's Christmas, my phone account is paid up, and I can't use it. Worst customer service experience in my life [and I'm 77]. read more

I travelled 30 miles out Of my way to go to this location ! My phone batt was completely dead And not charging so I had no service to call ahead! when I arrived on a weekday afternoon 3 pm ish to an almost empty store ; 2 customers being helped on the floor and 2 managers standing behind the desk Who greeted me half heartedly And told me I'd have to wait a few minutes before they could help me; Then one walked away into back room While the manager greeted me ; " HELLO Sunshine"! Took my basic info and told me soneone will be with me shortly ! I proceeds to wait 15 minutes while no Other customers arrived ; 2-3 employees showed up and went into the back room and then one Additional employee came out on the floor And stood with the other staff already helping a customer! So there appeared to be at least 5-6 employees at the location 2 on the floor and 4-5 in the back room and I sat waiting for 15-20 minutes never receiving any help ! I finally left and have gone 4-5 days without a working phone! ARGH Hopefully the next Verizon store I walk into will Never be that poorly tended! Very disappointed and frustrating ! read more

Service in the store was slow and felt like i got the run around with understand why we got billed one more month after we moved. Prices have gone up so much we moved to consumer cellular for a $100 less per month for same service! read more

I went to this location because a friend was having trouble reloading his prepaid minutes. Upon entering I noticed the store was not very well kept. There was a young man behind the counter who greeted me. My friend would not go into the store because he had a bad experience there before. I thought he was just over reacting. Everything went well after I had to go get info for Michael to look up why a 30.00 credit could not be added to the phone. He stated that I had to to call Verizon to have the credit added. Maybe I am thinking outside the Verizon mentality, but I am in a Verizon store? I said, "you call." He looked at me put the phone on the counter and slid it to me and said, "we are done, no one tells me what to do." WHAT? I said, "please" he said "No." I could not believe it? I will admit at that point I was so frustrated I may have dropped the F-bomb as I left shacking my head. I contacted Verizon customer service, I also canceled my order with Verizon for 2 new phones and service. Michael lost the commission for a fellow employee and a new customer all in one act of BAD customer service. I am staying away from Verizon and Michael. How about you? read more

As someone else has said, Nick IS the best. A few weeks ago, my wife and I had come in to take a look at possibly getting new phones, but mostly to get me switched from my parent's family plan to her new Verizon plan. The first visit was okay. Sure, we had to wait for other costumers to be helped, which is great that everyone takes time and care with each customer. The gentleman who was basically a 'bouncer' was funny and kept us entertained as we waited outside (iPhone 7 just released so there were security measures... understandable) When we got in, the salesman we were partnered with (I can't recall his name) seemed a bit condescending to my wife as if she had no tech experience (she is as tech-savvy if not more than I) and instead of working on what problem she had with her current new phone (she wasn't WOW'd) by looking more in depth at the features of the phone itself, tried to direct her to a newer, more expensive moto phone and all of the attachments that cost upwards of 100-250 dollars.. yeah, no. Once we figured out everything we needed to do to get me switched over, we left with not much changed. (although I think she bought a charger case, which broke after a day...!) The next time we came in, we were placed with Nick. Now Nick was the best. He was polite, he was patient, and he was understanding when my wife said she didn't like the phone, and went over neat tricks, new apps (that are free) and Hum, (which is amazing, we will return for it) Everything was quick, the exchange of the phone case, (no restocking fee as it was defective) explanation of the phone glass cover return instructions, etc.. and then we got to my phone switchover. So, my number got ported to Verizon. I waited for a confirmation that everything was fine when I inserted the Verizon sim card, but nothing. Half hour, forty five minutes went by and still nothing. Nick figured it was because my phone was still locked. I tried to call ATT to get my phone unlocked but found out that it has to be done online. He let me use their computer to do this, and the final page says... phone will be unlocked after TWO DAYS!! So, 10 minutes before closing I rush over to ATT to see if they can unlock it. Nobody greets me, one guy looks up and asks for my name after a few minutes, and the manager comes back inside after a break and finally talks to me (meanwhile Verizon is about to close) and tells me there is nothing she can do and that it is all done online (and sneaking in a question of why I'm leaving ATT... yeah right) So I rush back to Verizon, the door just barely didn't lock, and Nick helps me after his last customer. We decide to have ATT port my number back to them so I can have service for the weekend. Seems easy, right? Well, after being put on hold, having a Verizon Port manager be on the call WITH us and the ATT port person, being put on hold a half dozen more times, after coming in at 7pm, I did not leave until 10:30, when I should have been out by 8. Thanks to INCOMPETENT ATT employees... Thank you again Nick for staying way passed you should have, letting me just text you to switch my phone over after the weekend, and just being a cool dude. -Steevyn read more

Be prepared for a long wait when you go... in order to get some face time, you need to sign in first (I guess the computers in the middle of the store are for this but I didn't try them). One of the employees can also take your name down. Then, let the countdown begin... I like to bring a book, newspaper, etc with me because it might be a long wait. Employees work hard and seem to be endlessly working with a customer. Yay for Nick and Zack(?)! I think those are their names... very helpful and to the point. The managers, on the other hand, seem to be in the back doing paperwork or something... When I did see/interact with a manager, he was not really helpful, and seemed like he would rather be "in the back." They took care of my needs, though it took two visits and a few hours of my time (mostly waiting for other customers to be taken care of). Luckily, I spent them reading and enjoying the air conditioning so it was no big deal. read more

My children and I met in Ithaca this weekend to celebrate my twin daughters birthday. Last week (on Long Island) I purchased new phones for my older daughter and I during the buy one get on XR promotional sale. Unfortunately we couldn't transfer my daughter old phone to the new because her old phone was so old and she didn't know her Apple ID password. Joey Griffin was amazing with us!! He tried so hard to fix her problems and get her info transferred. Although we didn't get it completed (only because her phone had not backed up on iCloud since 2015) Joey set us up for success!! He was part, understanding, professional and so personable!! I can't thank him enough for all his help and patience!! read more

We were given dishonest and misleading information. We tried to cancel the add-on service and were told there was a huge cancellation fee and that we signed a two year contract. Never told this at the store. We are extremely disappointed. We have lost trust with Verizon Ithaca. It is a shame, we always had good serice there in the past. Too bad. read more

Worst business internet service in Ithaca with the worst customer service in the world! Many of the service reps were on the other side of the world and had no idea what they were talking about. After 6 hours with customer service they insisted the problem was on our end. We were not able to run credit card transactions for an entire day. Problem was ultimately determined to in fact be on Verizon's side and service was restored 8 hours after it went down. We were forced to change to a more reliable service provider and were charged termination fees even though we were 2 1/2 years into a 2 year contract. The communication at Verizon is so bad the repair man still showed up the next day to fix a problem that had already been fixed on their side. read more

Verizon Wireless on South Meadow street in Ithaca my is the worst.. Manager "Rob" is super unfriendly and has no customer service skills at all. My suggestion if your looking to Upgrade or just need a new phone. Buy on line that way you will avoid all the Upselling crap they try to push on you!!! And avoid long waits as well. read more

I've had a salesperson telling me misleading information just so that he could get another sale. When I came back to return the item, I found out I had to pay a restocking fee, when I hadn't even touched the item at all. If I had opened or touched the item, I'd be fine with the fee but with the salesperson telling me misleading information and not telling me about the restocking fee beforehand, it ticked me. Also, many people who work there have attitude problems. I'm not asking for them to be welcoming, friendly but please, just at the least be polite. I've met very few people there who were friendly or helpful but in general, very bad experience from this store. read more

In general, the employees have been helpful and friendly. No real complaints there. Wait times can be long, but that depends on where you go. The real problems are with their policies and their managers. They sold me a defective glass screen protector (which didn't even cover the entire screen) and as soon as I noticed (less than 30 minutes after purchase), I tried to return it. The manager refused to do so, saying once the protector was applied, it couldn't be returned. How are you supposed to know if the protector fits BEFORE it's applied to the screen? Of course, stores can stick to their return policies, but the manager was completely unsympathetic and unhelpful. Instead of being understanding and apologetic about what is obviously a flawed product, she tried to convince me I was wrong for wanting a something that actually works. Whatever the return policy, that's just bad customer service. Why make a loyal Verizon customer feel defensive and foolish? I had much better interactions with customer service reps on the phone. I beg to disagree with the negativism of the other reviewers. I think the reviewers are misplacing their ire towards Verizon. While I entirely agree that Verizon should be doomed if it continues to mechanically take advantage of its customers by blatantly focusing foremost on profits rather than on the customers' good will (from which profits flow), I know from (too much) experience that the Ithaca store is staffed by highly competent individuals who really are focused on providing customers with the best possible resolutions to their problems. Just tonight I was there again (fourth time in four months), because some Verizon jerk in Seattle had screwed up my request to add my son's account to my family plan. The jerk simply added my son's bill to my bill, with no discount for a family plan. (I was floored when I saw the monthly bill jump by well more than $100.) But, knowing from experience that visiting the Ithaca store is far more effective than trying to work with Verizon online or on the phone, I simply stopped by the store. Yeah, it took a while, but everything got straightened out, even better than I had hoped. My opinion is that, yes, Verizon had better get its act together, but given that Verizon most definitely does not yet have its act together (not much time left! other providers are looking really good by comparison!), we in Ithaca who are tied into Verizon should be thankful of having a store with very competent staff. I had such a bad experience at this verizon store. The man that helped me was rude and in no way helpful. I actually found him to be insulting. I understand that verizon now has a activation/upgrade charge, but since they call the phone free, and call it a "free upgrade" I found it ridiculous that I was being charged. In short I do not intend on ever returning to this verizon store, and am very disappointed in verizon in general. read more

Their service is TERRIBLE. There is one lady, she won't care to speak one more word other than "I don't know..". Is this what we should get from Oligopoly? I hope other companies can do better than Verizon so that they can get a sense about how to train their service people to retain their loyal customers and to attract new customers. I can't put to words how aggravating the service at the store is. Passive aggression, sarcasm and leading false advice. Everyone on the floor ignored us at first. After we asked for service the attention we received was dismissive and unhelpful when asked questions. When the problem was being explained it seemed that he would interrupt with an excuse and not fully listen or wish to help us. The friend I came in with to help left very upset and crying. read more

As a long time iPhone user, I was apprehensive about the switch, but Nick patiently walked me through the available smartphones. Long wait aside, staff, mgr and sales clerks alike r so well trained to rip u off to the max. Never have I experienced such a nightmare with any phone company.
