I brought in my 13 year old daughter's iPhone. It was locked because when she set it up she created an Apple ID and password, but didn't remember what they were. We had already looked online and seen that the phone had to be put in recovery mode, which would delete everything on it. But following the steps to do that wasn't working.Gadget Pro said they could do a factory reset for $40 but we would lose everything on the phone. We were already reconciled to that, so we said go ahead. It only took an hour, and when we came back they said it worked and now all we had to do was sign in with the Apple ID and password. When I reminded them that this was the problem in the first place, they said contact Apple support and they'll unlock it for you. Apple support did unlock it after we provided them with proof that we had purchased the phone 2 years ago. Unlocking it also did a factory reset. Then we were able to set it up again with a new Apple ID and password (which I wrote down and stored). So Gadget Pro was nice and did what they said they would do pretty efficiently, but it didn't solve the problem I had brought to them. I paid them $40 to do something that was useless and unnecessary. read more

MacBook gave messages "battery needs replacement ". Gadget replaces - for $350 - and within a week screen goes bad. Now Gadget wants $400 to replace screen. Call Apple directly and they say "well if screen broke soon after battery replacement we would give refund or credit but this appears unrelated". WTF like first 5 minutes? My advice - ignore battery replacement messages since MacBook was working fine and when it dies just buy new (go with Surface!) read more

Faulty service and poor quality control. Came in to repair my cracked iPhone screen. Had the screen replaced, and 1.5 weeks later, before I went on a trip abroad, I took my phone out of my pocket to see only half the screen working. Dead pixels enveloped half the screen, split vertically. The phone was unusable. I came back to Gadget Repair Pro, and there was no warranty whatsoever -- I would have to get the screen repaired again, for the same price as before. I ended up paying the $200 deductible on my phone insurance so I didn't have to deal with Gadget Pro anymore. Go anywhere else than here. read more

I can't say enough about Gadget Pro! I dropped my iPhone on a tile floor and, well, you know what happened. Brandon was super nice and fixed me right up. The shop even carries some basic supplies, which meant I didn't have to go elsewhere to purchase a new charging cable that I also needed. The only critique I can give is that it took about 1 1/2 days for them to respond via this Yelp contact tool. That said, when I phoned to ask more questions, he was prompt, and I had no concerns or issues. Could well be the way the information is transferred to them. For best results, be sure to call them! Phone was repaired promptly and at a fair price, and a case was thrown in for free, which was awesome.. However.. Within a few days the glue they used to seal the screen to the phone came loose, and eventually cracked, way too easily. My screen is now attached by only a cord. I'm going to AT&T, to pay the $200 deductible for a new phone, as the Pro Bros used a less-than quality screen/glass and glue, wasting $140.. read more

Can not thank the employees at Gadget Repair Pro enough for fixing my phone! Currently in Ithaca on an internship & the end of my charger broke inside of my phone. Being far from home for weeks with no phone would've been awful! I went to the repair store inside the mall & was quoted $75 and told they would need my phone for three hours. When I came to Gadget Repair Pro he told me it would only cost me $20 and he would fix it with me in store which took less than 5 minutes! Gadget Repair Pro (GRP) is my hero. About 24 hours before defending my dissertation, I spilled coffee on my laptop keyboard and the computer shut down. I started working on a backup laptop but I had so much precious precious data and PowerPoint slides that I knew I had to get it fixed ASAP. I explained my dire situation: I was willing to throw money at it to get the data extracted even if the machine was trashed in the process. It wasn't necessary because GRP cleaned the inside of my MacBook Air well enough that it worked again! I know this service usually takes ~48 hours but this was an emergency: GRP fixed my laptop in less than 4 hours!!! He could have made a quick buck for his shop by doing the work that I thought needed to be done. Instead, he diagnosed the phones' problems and patiently explained that, in the case of my two devices, it would be wisest for me to buy replacements. I was visiting Cornell for the 150 year anniversary and my iPad Air accidentally got crunched by a car door.  I saw the sign for this place when I was at Chipotle.  I stopped in to see if they might be able to quickly repair my iPad in time for my flight the next day.  They checked and had a screen in stock, and Alex had my iPad back to like new condition in about 40 minutes.  The fix was about $200, which I think is around market rate. This is a great shop, professional and friendly service. They fixed my screen for what I felt was a fair price and they talked through the issues with me beforehand so I knew exactly what I was paying for. They also make suggestions for products and accessories, even ones that they don't carry so that you can get them for a fair price rather than trying to sell you on everything they carry in-store. I was very pleased with the repair of my shattered iPhone 5s in May. The service was friendly and in about 2 hours I had a slightly darker but fully functional screen. I put an otter box on my phone in the store and was reassured that there was a 60 day guarantee on the phone. Today, about 40 days later, my phone (in otter box) fell about three feet off a table onto a carpeted floor and the screen shattered once again. I was surprised at my otter box and my brand new screen, but relieved to know it had been fewer than 60 days since my repair. I went back, and though the staff was still very polite and friendly, I was informed that the 60 day guarantee only applied to defects and not to breakage. I was disappointed in the longevity of the screen and will likely not recommend Gadget Repair Pro to any friends. I feel that this company should be able to stand behind their products and their advertised (if misleading) warranties. read more

I will start by saying this is the first negative review I have ever had to write. I took my fully functional IPhone 6 to have the cracked screen replaced. After speaking with the staff at Gadget Repair Pro I was informed that they could replace the cracked screen with the screen from another IPhone 6 without issue. (which had water damage, but nothing wrong with the screen.) I took both phones to them to make the repair on Friday 6/3/16. I asked the person working (Brandon) if he could place all of my pictures and videos on a usb flash drive (I would provide) before starting the repair, and he acted as if that was too much to ask and said "it would be simple for me to do from my computer at home." So I did not press the issue. He informed me that he had other devices to fix before mine, and the wait would be 4 to 4 1/2 hours. When I returned 4 1/2 hours later my phone was completely "fried" and their was "nothing he could do." He asked me to leave the phone with him for the next few hours to see if he could figure it out and that he would call my other phone with an update. 2 days later I did not receive a call from him and I returned to the store to pick up my "fried" phone. Not only was the $650. IPhone destroyed, but he also lost all the pictures and videos of my children for the last 1 1/2 years. I understand their are ways to back up pictures and videos, but when you are a professional working with electronic devices and a customer specifically states that their pictures and videos are important, you should find a way to secure them before starting the repair. I am completely dissatisfied, angry and upset. Had I known in advance they were going to destroy my phone, I would have dealt with the cracked screen, as I said before the phone was FULLY FUNCTIONAL. I was not charged labor for their "failed attempt." Although I will have to purchase a new phone outside of contract, the pictures and videos are obviously not replaceable and the multiple trips to and from the store were a huge inconvenience. This business did not compensate me for their mistake or failed attempt in any way. read more
