The technician was very nice and respectful. Since I was there in the morning around 11 there wasn't a wait. I went for inquiries about fixing my old Samsung Galaxy S II and cutting my SIM card into a microSIM for my new OnePlus One. Galaxy SII - Performed a cursory check for most common problems, such as battery. (less than 10 min) - Offered a free diagnostic, which I didn't take since my budget was only $30 and didn't want to waste their time. (the phone is too old to worth more than that) - Didn't insist and bother me when I refused the service. SIM card ($5, less than 5min) - SIM card works as expected (calling and LTE), contacts are retained. - Technician double checked to make sure all functionality are retained - Technician double checked that sim card and new phone are compatible (locked phone or not, format of card) before cutting the card and didn't just blindly took my word for the format. - The price is exactly the same as I have expected. Even though there are other options such as DIY or wait until summer and go back to my service provider in my hometown I think the price is worth the hassle I saved. Yesterday I came into Fennex fox to fix the fan in my laptop-- my computer was making a very loud noise and I was worried the fan needed to be replaced or cleaned. I gave them my laptop off around 4 pm, and they said they'd call me the next morning to update me on the problem. The next morning they called me and had me come in to show me how they fixed my laptop. I came in they ran a bunch of tests on my laptop right in front of me to show me how the fan was now working. While they cleaned the dust in the fan of my computer, there was nothing wrong with the laptop as a whole. One thing I admire about this business is they do free consultations and screenings; since there was nothing wrong with the fan itself beyond the dust, they did not charge me anything. Fennex Fox is an amazing place to get your laptop and phone fixed! I have been here several times and have never had a subpar experience here. The employees are quick, reliable, professional, and overall amazing. The guys that work here are really good with computers and did an amazing job with my laptop. Have you ever woken up drunk/hungover, looked at your phone and remembered that "goddamnit I smashed it last night"? Well now, you can literally walk to Fennec Fox Tech Repair located on Dryden, have a little hangover brunch, and get it back by the time you're done with your food! I just got my iPad and my S4 fixed there. Went in at 1130 AM, and got them back at 2.05PM. He (I forgot to get his name) did an excellent job, both of my devices look brand new! The prices are also not only reasonable but actually might be the best I've seen, either in the city or in Ithaca. He knows exactly how to run a business, offering appropriate discounts depending on the type of repair you need. While you shouldn't go in expecting to get anything fixed for 20 bucks, the prices he offers are extremely competitive. All in all an excellent experience, and while I hope I never have to go back in, I will definitely choose Fennec Fox for all my tech repair needs. My mouse and keyboard got disconnected after my MacBook Air took a small fall two weeks ago, right before my summer courses' final exams. I first visited another repair center, where I was told that the issue could be fixed in a week for over $100. Someone suggested that I visit Fennec Fox Tech Repair to see if they could resolve the problem more quickly. I ended up paying much less and got my computer fixed the same day, in only a couple of hours, which allowed me to study for my exams as I had planned. What a relief! They also have a policy that states that you are only charged if the repair is successful, that they contact you before undertaking a pricier repair to ask if you would like them to move forward with it, and that if the issue reappears in the following weeks they fix it for a fraction of the initial repair cost. I broke my Galaxy S5 screen, it was shattered and I was sure I would be out $500-$600 on a new phone! Even the white frame was shattered and falling off. I took my phone in and the technician was able to replace the screen and it looked like new! It was so quick also! I had called other places and they said I might have to wait a day or a few hours, but as a working college student I do not have that kind of time to be without a phone!! The technician fixed my phone in a half hour, I barely went and got some coffee and it was done when I came back. My laptop has been through alot in the past few years; I have a 2017 macbook pro, which has had so many issues from the butterfly keyboard being broken to the screen developing weird aberrations; this time, the hinges in my screen were loose, and Fennec Fox was kind enough to try to repair it, even though they said that it was likely unfixable due to the hinge being inside of the screen. This business does not charge unless the problem is perfectly fixed, and I wasn't charged since they werent able to fix my screen without replacing it, but they did a very thorough cleaning of the inside of my laptop regardless and now it seems that the dust being gone has fixed an overheating issue my laptop used to have. My touchscreen had stopped working, and he did the repair right on the spot in about 30 minutes for $80. He had no problem telling me outright how much it would cost, was very open and straight forward about what he was doing, took his time, and thoroughly (twice) checked all the functions of the phone afterwards to make sure everything was in order. He even noticed that I was missing a screw on my phone and replaced it for me! He also installed a glass screen protector for me for $15 extra. In short, this is a convenient, well-priced business with great customer service and integrity about the process of fixing your device - they in no way try to cheat you. Great experience overall. The technician was super fast and clearly knowledgeable. I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of at all. The location in Collegetown is super convenient, and you can go get a coffee or food while you wait -- not that you will wait long as he had my phone ready in about 15 minutes! The shop is small but clean and nicely decorated. Perhaps the best part is prices; I am a grad student and don't have money to throw away so I definitely shopped around, the prices were significantly cheaper here than other places I called. Fantastic, speedy service at a reasonable price! I took my iPhone 6s in after getting caught biking in a downpour--my phone was stuck in headphone mode, and the audio was struggling. I was able to make an appointment online, and the store was clean when I entered (just me and the tech were present). He evaluated the phone and gave me all of my options as well as his recommendation. Within an hour, he had replaced the charging/audio jacks, and everything was back to normal. these guys are the best... I brought my laptop in to be diagnosed and (sadly) found it had water damage. My mom accused me of spilling something on it... She didn't believe me when I explained it was due to rain that seeped into my backpack. I called in the evening with a non-urgent issue, and they still managed to get me in the next day without any issue or extra charge. I had a stripped screw on a laptop from trying to replace a battery with bad tools. I only came for the screw, but when they saw that I had the battery on me, they replaced it and screwed everything back on for free. The screw ended up coming out without any fancy tools either, so they charged me less. The whole thing took me like 15 minutes and 40 dollars, when Dell wanted me to send it in for 200+ and wait weeks. Would highly recommend. read more

I brought it in and the tech, Alex (who was very friendly, helpful, and professional) gave me a quote and a time estimate (about an hour and a half - so quick!!). He was extremely pleasant and, noticing that I was interested in watching him work, was more than happy to teach me about internal iPhone parts.
