They responded to my email more quickly than any other place I contacted and gave me a lower quote than anywhere else with a breakdown explaining what I was being charged for. They also were able to take my laptop and get it back to me in a turnaround of only a few days from when I first reached out. Ben in particular was very helpful and friendly. The Computer Room also has a well thought-out Covid drop-off/pick-up situation that meant I didn't have to go inside the store at any point. Both my laptops were in need of repair, so I needed help right away. I am new to Ithaca and repeatedly became lost. I called the store and although it was past closing, the technician/engineer was kind enough to wait until I arrived. He diagnosed and fixed the first computer probably in 10-15 minutes. I had run out of space on the other laptop and couldn't even get it to start. He spent his own time to repair it while I was there. I asked what I owed him for fixing the two - he waived payment. Have had to bring my computer in on multiple occations- Neal is always very helpful and professional. There are times it's a quick fix and he gets me out the door in 15. Other times, when I've had to leave it- he communicates well what he believes needs to be done, what it will cost, and my alternatives to getting it fixed. He's honest about the possiblities of other issues in the case that it turns out not be what he initially suspeccts- which I especially appreciate, so I'm prepared for the entire range of what I might need to pay. This place is truly great. I have had two experiences in a row where I've taken my computer to Best Buy, received disheartening news (e.g.: it will take weeks to repair and will cost a fortune), and then brought it to the Computer Room and gotten an entirely different and much happier story.
