Dustin is an amazing Salesman. Kind, thoughtful and works hard to give you what Verizon has to offer.., without gouging your pockets! Went in twice. Issue with the original phone. I was sick and flustered. If it phased Dustin, you could not tell. He 100% fixed all of the issues with my phone and perks. Don't hardly ever, encounter many salesmen that offers his time via store or text. Actually calls you back, and leaves you feeling as though he will do what he can to helpnkeep us returning. Outstanding experience - saved us as customers We had an incredible experience with Verizon - Coburg Rd, specifically working with Mike and his team. Mike accomplished in 2.5 hours what another Verizon location could not figure out over an entire month of multiple visits and many wasted hours. He took our absolute mess of a $2,400 bill, identified and removed lines and fees we never agreed to, and rebuilt our account with a clean, correct setup from scratch -- all without a single issue. The visit itself was great from start to finish. I've seen reviews mentioning long wait times, but honestly, that's easily solved by scheduling an appointment. We were seen within 10 minutes of our appointment time -- smooth and stress-free. This team truly deserves credit. We were fully prepared to cancel everything, and this was our last attempt before walking away. I'm so glad we chose this location. Mike and his team completely turned the situation around and earned our trust back. Highly recommend. If you're dealing with billing issues or a complicated setup, this is the place to go. read more

I arrived at this store today at 1:45 pm, looking to get a new unlocked phone activated and added to my plan with Verizon's "Bring Your Own Phone" program. I was promptly greeted and checked in for service. The staff member told me there were 2-3 customers ahead of me, and I'd need to wait 20-30 minutes.. I gave up my spot in line and left an hour and 15 minutes later without being helped or even acknowledged by the staff. During the time I was waiting, at least 10 different Verizon employees were working in the store in various stages of their shift. Each time they finished helping a customer, they disappeared into the back of the store, leaving a growing line of customers waiting for service. Some employees were ending their shift, but others who were still working didn't come back out to help for 15 or 20 minutes at a time. According to the manager, there was a meeting or training they needed to attend. I don't know why a busy location like this would schedule a meeting or training during peak afternoon working hours. In addition to the extreme annoyance of waiting, the overall quality of the service I observed for other customers was atrocious. An elderly disabled woman using a cane came in to pay her bill. She was overweight and very obviously had limited mobility. At one point, she dropped her cane on the floor. The dipstick serving her didn't even take his eyes off of his tablet or offer to help pick it up. Myself and all of the other customers in line saw her drop her cane, so there was no way this tool didn't see her drop it as well. I ran over to help the woman pick up her cane, but she waved me off. The man behind me in line only needed to return a 5G router he was no longer using. He was waiting so long that he had time to leave, buy a smoothie next door, come back, drink the smoothie, leave again, go to Newmann's Fish Market, order a full meal, and then eat it. He still hadn't been helped when I got fed up and left. The supervisor, who looked like hipster Gimli from "The Lord of the Rings," spent most of his time being very un-Gimli-like and skulking about while not doing much of anything to help anyone. I've worked as a manager in service jobs, and when there are lots of customers pouring in, but you're understaffed, the manager should always jump in and start helping. This lout didn't even bother to try to get extra staff from the back to help. When the staff did bother to help customers, they added 10-15 minutes onto their interactions by schmoozing them and trying to upsell services and products, and then disappearing into the back like used car salesmen. Complaints by other customers about the bad service were met with a litany of excuses and blame-shifting by the employees. But the worst part of this whole cluster-eff of a store is that there are hundreds of awful reviews for this location, and nobody seems to give a rat's behind about fixing the obvious work culture and employee performance issues there. Verizon's corporate management is not taking any action regarding this location, which suggests either deliberate ignorance, incompetence, or a combination of both. I know service industry jobs suck, but there is no excuse for this kind of piss-poor behavior and performance. Sorry for the TLDR, but this was a disgusting, off-putting experience, and I don't want other people to have to go through the same bullshit. Short version - avoid doing business at this location like tertiary syphilis. read more

My wife and I walked into this store today, at 5:50pm. They close at 7. The manager greeted us and then asked how she could help. We said we were looking at switching to Verizon. She then says we'll "tonight's not the night, I want to tell you straight up. I told some of my team members they could go home early and because of that here in just a few minutes there isn't going to be anyone to help you" I replied. So are you saying we could wait to be helped and then you'd say "sorry we're closed now" To which the manager replied. "Yes, I am telling you that it's now 6 and we close at 7. If you decide to wait for us tonight it's going to get to 7 and no one will have helped you" She then proceeded to say "you'll have to come back another day" Like, I get not wanting to help clients right before you close. But we arrived a full hour before closing and we're told no. That's absolutely ridiculous. read more

Every bad experience you've ever had with the Cell company or a sales staff representing the company at a retail outlet the Verizon store on Coburg Road in Eugene Oregon is the pits. Bottom of the barrel and more like torture than joy at purchasing a $1000+ phone. 1. It is apparently a boutique shop - you have to make an appointment. You can try walking in but you'll be told to come back 45 minutes later. But stay close by because there is only a five minute grace period before they give your appointment away. 2. If you think you can avoid all of the hassles by ordering online for in-store pick up you will be wrong. It just confuses the staff. So if you order a phone online and they forget to ask you how much memory you need and you try to take the phone into the local shop to exchange it for more memory about 45 minutes 20 minutes I don't have a Lotta confidence in that Oh they forgot to tell me that that price was for the lowest memory. And no problem we have 30 days to exchange it... Forgot to tell you about the $50 restocking fee. That's OK they'll take the phone back into the bowels of the business where no customers are allowed and the waiting begins. Attention customers: it appears that Verizon is expanding into insurance if you have a problem with your Verizon cellular account and put on hold you will be treated to a 2 1/2 minute sales pitch regarding insurance. Auto insurance. Go figure. read more

Received help here from the manager and Jason for a 4G upgrade on a home phone because 3G was discontinued. Had lots of problems getting it to work and they stayed on it continuously until it worked properly. Very polite and friendly people. I really don't understand the negative reviews. I'm never excited to have to come in this store. I've never had a bad experience necessarily, but it's never spectacular either. It falls into the boring and annoying categories. First off, the parking lot is an absolute circus. It's a very tiny, cramped lot. They share it with several other businesses, so it gets a little crazy. It's hard to get in and out of. Next, you make it in the door and have to sign in with an employee. Be prepared to wait for at least 20-30 minutes. I've never made it in and out quickly or with ease. The store is almost as tiny and cramped as the parking lot. I'm amazed in this day and age how many people go into this store just to pay their bill, using an ATM-like machine. I wouldn't subject myself to this store monthly just for that. Once you're bored waiting forever, wandering around the store counting down the minutes until someone helps you, they finally come out. I don't know if this is some sort of sales technique, like pharmacies and photo developers in stores, make you wait an hour so you'll walk around and spend money, but it sucks. This is especially true for me being an avid Apple fan. I don't need to look at 47 other kinds of phones or tablets. I don't need a sales pitch. I know what I want, get it for me and let me get out. Then once you've picked out your phone or tablet, they up-sell you on another 47 different kinds of accessories. Some of which I can use, some are just ridiculous. The last time my husband and I were in, they came out with an actual basket full of crap to choose from. I'll tell you what I want, and you can find me choices based on that, not a random assortment of stuff. If I were clueless about what kind of products I wanted, all of these practices might make sense. But I know what I want when I go in, so it would be nice if they were more helpful in getting me what I wanted in a more speedy fashion. I've been to the Albany store, which is a million times faster and easier than this store, and I've also ordered online and had it shipped. Verizon contracts with FedEx, which is a completely different can of worms. But I can guarantee both the Albany store and ordering online are significantly easier than going into this Verizon store. read more

Came in to buy a charging cord for my phone and the place was packed. There's a person that greets you when you walk in, asks what you're there for and takes down your name, Heard the person ahead of me told that it would be a 25 minute wait for a sales associate. When my turn came up, I was told the same and I explained I didn't need service, just a purchase. Fortunately, the greeter called a sales associate over and thank goodness, I was in and out within 10 minutes. I purchased a s9+ Samsung. I had to argue with the sales that I did not want a phone protection plan. Progressing towards the exit, he stopped me, accompanied by his manger. I had to reject her add on offers, saying, "I don't let people out the door without some kind of protection plan". Since I was in a wheelchair and suffering from a stroke, I told her I'm leaving. She tried evry high pressure technique. They finally PRESENTED MY PURCHASE AGREEMENT which contain no protection as requested. I'd found that they inserted the protection add on and made me pay $15 monthly, despite my will. Now, please, what would you call that? read more

The guy at the front, not wearing his name badge and when asked refused to tell me his name, said there wasn't anything he could do for me. I needed to make an appointment to order the phone and then make another appointment to turn it on. He missed the customer service training day or maybe they didn't offer one. I had closed out my account and asked for a paper bill to be sent to me so I could give it too my new carrier and make payments so I wouldn't have to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket. The person on the phone has told me that would work great and they would send it right away. Two weeks later Verizon takes $950 out of my bank account and basically tells me tuff luck and won't refund my money after being told I won't be charged and that I have a bill on the way. Very few parking spaces. I don't like to "sign in" just to get a simple question answered regarding the price of a phone. After waiting way too long, and asking a simple question, the salesman refused to give me a direct reply. I had to ask it again...yes or no...and still no direct answer. Third time..."no I'm sorry it's not available for that price." If you enjoy negotiating with car salesmen you will love Coburg Road Verizon. If you purchased a 3rd layer of undercoating for your new car, plus bought all the multiple extended warranties, you will love all the up-selling options at Coburg Road Verizon. I have always found better prices and more competent sales people at Costco and Best Buy. These people gather the needed account information, give direct answers, and offer options without thinking about their own commission.. Update: My in-laws went in here to get their phone set up for overseas roaming. They assured her they set it up, and she would have no problem connecting in Europe. They get to Europe. Not set up. We had to spend a good amount on money making phone calls abroad, back and forth, to get everything set up. They should've offered them a free month in exchange for the expenses we all incurred, since it was their fault, but they offered them nothing. -- This place has the most technologically inept staff I've ever seen in my life. They're all very friendly (and we get a company discount at Verizon, hence the two stars), but complete idiots. They know nothing about upcoming new phones/technology, can't really explain the features on phones. When I bought my Samsung Galaxy Tab here, I had to stand around watching one of them attempt to get my SD card into the tablet for over a minute. I tried to explain it, but he just didn't get it. Eventually I took it from him and instantly put the card in the right way. And when I had to exchange it for a different tablet, due to various issues, the guy who helped me with the new one (different guy) ALSO couldn't get the SD card in (again I had to do it for him). Completely outrageous. They can't even answer simple questions because they simply don't know what various technical terms mean. Stuff that I know, and I'm an academic in the HUMANITIES, they're supposed to know ten times as much as I know. How can you possibly get a job at a cell phone store, in this economy no less, when you're completely inept at working with any kind of technology, and have no desire whatsoever to learn about new, or even current, products? I can only assume the manager of this store knows so little about technology that (s)he is incapable of screening candidates for appropriate levels of technology skills. My husband's theory is that they simply don't care, they just hire people who are good at "selling" things, even if they know nothing about phones. Well, I'm done buying from idiots. I agree with the negative reviews. Very poor service. I had a simple question which I explained to the check in person. I had to wait over 35 minutes to get an answer as no one seemed to want to help. I saw several employees in the back and going in and out of a store room but non on the floor to help customers. I could spend some time telling about the things I saw but suffice it to say it is one of the worst run businesses I have seen. I wanted to share what I had seen with the manager but she refused to come out and talk with me. Let's just say it appears she has set the tone for the rest of the staff. This store is not worth your time. I used to go here frequently for phones and questions, but in the last 2-3 years they have been very under-staffed and clearly more interested in selling you junk/services that you don't need than helping you solve your issue. For example, on my most recent visit, I had to wait more than 30 minutes to get a phone that I bought activated. Throughout the entire process the representative would not stop trying to sell me cases and screen protectors etc. which added another 10-15 minutes to my visit. No one in this store has thought if I didn't already waste 30 minutes waiting for help, I would be more interested in listening to your sales pitches? On top of all that, the rep couldn't even resolve the other issues on my account. I drove home after getting the phone activated and used Verizon's online chat to finish making all the changes I needed to. Sadly, I have similar stories for my last 3-4 visits to this store. This Verizon location is friendly and clean. I'm not going to review Verizon as a company, because that's a can of worms, just my experience visiting. I went in to pre-order the new iPhone for Sept 16. Gave myself about 2 hours to complete it, knowing it might take some time that day. Upon walking in, a representative adds you to the waiting list and informs you of about how long the wait is. You immediately know you'll be helped and in about how long. You can look around, explore the phones, twiddle your thumbs... After about 40 minutes, Mathias came to help. He was very friendly, got right to getting my new contract done and phones order. If he didn't have the answer to a question, he immediately went to ask. Our interaction was very positive. He explained all about a new contract and the pros and cons; helped me find a better deal for the things our family was using; showed me an easy way to backup all my contacts for when I have the new phone; and never pressured me to purchase more or upgrade. The new iPhone release slowed down their servers until it came to a complete halt. I didn't end up even getting my phone ordered because after 2 hours, we were stuck with no responsive server and I had a meeting to get to. While it was an incredibly frustrating situation, it was not these employees' faults and they all were handling it as best you could ask for everyone in there. I was really impressed with how calm and collected they stayed. I've not had any other experience there, but considering mine wasn't a good situation and it still went smoothly, I'd say the employees are being trained right. read more

Unquestionably the worst customer service I've ever had. You come in and they make you wait at least thirty minutes before talking to you about your issue. I've come, waited, and left several times out of frustration. It's unclear why they need one employee dedicated just to keeping the list of people waiting. He or she stands there for long periods of time doing nothing while many frustrated customers wander around waiting their "turn" to be assisted. Truly a horrible customer experience. Ryan a sales associate was extremely helpful and patient with my mom when she went in to this store. I bought her phone in California where I live and explained she would need to go to a Verizon store for them to transfer everything for her. My mom is 86 years old and sometimes technology frustrates her. She went into the store, Ryan sat down with her and patiently took care of everything, contact, pictures, text messages everything she wanted transferred he did. He even told her if she ever needed any help to come back and he or another sales associate would make sure they took care of her! WOW!!! Now that's customer service at it's finest!!
