Let me start off by saying that I have been a loyal customer for over 11 years and I typically upgrade my phones online because i don't like dealing with Sales associates. Trip #1 - December 14th I had an appointment on December 14th at this store because I was looking into possibly adding a line to my account and upgrading my device at the same time. My daughter had T-Mobile and they have the WORST service and she was not receiving any photos unless she was connected to Wi-Fi or on my Hot Spot. I explained all of this to Veronica the sales associate that helped us out. She mentioned about the current promotion where I will be given one line for FREE as long as I BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). She said my bill would not change, I would pay the same amount I was paying which was $140, then she mentioned, it would be no more than $150 with taxes. She offered me a FREE Apple watch which I declined for $7.50 more(50% off due to me having the Ultimate Plan). We upgraded my phone from 14 Pro Max to the 17 Pro Max. I kept my 14 Pro Max because she said I did not need to turn it in and suggested I can use it for the FREE added line if my daughter's T-Mobile iPhone did not work when we transferred the line over. Once we processed everything, I would have imagined she NEVER told me anything about the $40 activation fee. I obviously know about it but she NEVER disclosed it. My daughter and I left. Trip # 2 - December 15th By this time, I had already set up my 17 Pro Max and I walked in to the store on Monday, December 15th and was helped by a gentleman. He helped me transfer the FREE line to my daughters old T-Mobile phone, we transferred her phone number in. While we were there, I decided to get the Apple Watch, I confirmed with the guy that the device was FREE as long as I paid for the plan which was $7.50/month. I said okay let's do it. He told me it would be shipped because they did not have the one I wanted in-store. Fine, I have no problem with that. AGAIN, he never mentioned a $40 activation fee for this device, but I KNOW of it so I keep this in mind. Wednesday December17th I received the watch and I activated it. Everything was okay until the following morning when I received an email with the changes made to my account. I reviewed it and there were 2 apple watches on my account. One activated on 12/17 and one 12/18 - mind you I only got ONE! I contact customer support, the lady on the chat removed the extra device (IDK HOW THAT GOT THERE) we move on. Days later I noticed my bill is high, okay normal after making changes) I decide to ask the Chat agent and they told me I was paying for my daughter's line. So i am confused because Veronica told me the line was FREE. Trip # 3 - December 22nd I walked in because I wanted someone to help me understand my bill. I was helped by a younger girl and I did not get her name unfortunately. She reviewed my account and she told me that the extra $10 charge was what I was paying for my device, she said even though I did not turn in my 14 Pro Max, I was given a credit for it as if I did so the $10 was the difference I would need to pay for my device. I said okay well Veronica NEVER told me this. So I reiterated why was the charge showing up under my daughter's line if I suppose it should be a credit for my line, she insisted that it was for the phone and I was getting a good deal in which I agreed and said yes it is a good deal but if I was told by Veronica that the line was FREE, I should not see a charge for a PLAN on that line. Then she told me "this is why we tell customer's their first bill will be higher than usual" and I responded "YOU may tell your customer's that but not Veronica, she NEVER told me any of this" she then proceed with "okay let's calm down, let's calm down" which pissed me off because I do not need her talking to me like I am her child. I then told her that I did not care if the deal was good, if they tell me something is FREE, do not charge me for it - it can be $2 for all I care but do not MISLEAD customers so that you can meet your daily quota and commission. this young lady was zero to no help. I left the store upset because she did not take the time to explain clearly. I went home and decided to pull my bill in PDF format (I should have done this at the store) because I clearly saw the $10 Plan charge for the "FREE" line. it was late at night so i decided to get on the chat to speak with an agent. I spoke with Eva, super helpful - she confirmed that Veronica misled me and did not disclose that this line was $10 after a $45 discount of the line + $10 discount for having auto pay (cost of this plan is normally $65). She made it right and was able to speak to her supervisor which approved for them to honor the FREE line for the 36 months as TOLD by Veronica. This will be my last time at this store. Associates need to learn to BE BETTER and tell their customer's the TRUTH instead of lying so that they can earn their commission. read more

And once they do decide to help you, they are still bothered and act like you owe them something or they are doing you a favor, their attitude is Just horrible. Came in on the 1st for a trade-in promotion that was supposed to give me $1,100 spread over monthly bill credits, as I've been doing for the past 10+ years. The first employee I dealt with actually knew what he was doing--quick, efficient, no issues. Since I needed time to transfer my data, I took the trade-in phone home. Big mistake trusting this location after that. I sent my mom (the account owner) back to drop off the phone, expecting a simple handoff. Instead, she got stuck with an employee who was painfully incompetent. Rather than processing the $1,100 trade-in credit, she issued a $265 Verizon gift card. How you mess that up this badly is beyond me. She looked completely lost the entire time, randomly clicking through the account while I was getting nonstop alerts. Because of her screw-up, I had to waste time calling Verizon customer service. Thankfully, the call center agent actually knew what he was doing--but even he had to dig through records to untangle the mess this employee created. Going from $1,100 to $265 isn't a small mistake--it's outrageous and honestly feels borderline scammy. She wasn't even wearing a name tag, so of course we couldn't identify her. Customer service could only tell me her name started with a "V." Now I see why this location has such terrible reviews. We went in three different times to get this promotion. Switch over to Verizon with your Broken iphone Plus get Apple television. I've been seeing the commercial over and over only for this month ! We walked in and immediately David helped us. We left came back two more times. He made us his immediate priority. I really appreciate the information that he gave us. SHADY! Went in for the current promo on free iPhone 16 with trade in. All was good, friendly service. Took a while. Rep kept asking me how much was my current bill, asked several times. All done, at the end showed me my new bill was just about the same. Next day went in to see estimate on next bill in detail. I asked for the $55 plan. The Rep put me on the $65 plan (which includes Hot Spot). ALSO, added additional Hot Spot for $10. ALSO, added Verizon phone insurance for $20, which I did not ask for. Put in a temporary discount on my other lines so that the bill estimate Rep showed me was the same as my previous bills. Bill would have jumped up the following month. As you know, this was all done to sneak in their up-sales and look good/meet quotas at the cost of the Customer. My fault for not going on Yelp first and seeing their BAD review history. Called Verizon direct about this location and what happened. They corrected everything and were very apologetic. DO NOT go to this location. Crystal was very professional, patient and knowledgeable. She took the time out to explain everything to us. We were basically there for over two hours. What a day to end the year. I had to come to this store to pick up a new phone and all it did was triggered my ptsd. The Tony guy went inside to get my phone and had me wait for over 10min. In the mean time, a message comes to my Verizon app that stated order cancelled. I kept asking the security guy to call Tony and the guy told me about the system being slow which I did not believe. When Tony comes, he told me that opening the safety lock takes 10min & pretty much that was the delay. Another bs to swallow. I asked him if he did anything to the order because I got cancelled message on my Verizon app and he said he did not do anything. Their customer service as well as trusting this business is zero for me and I ended up cancelling my order. Do NOT Shop at this store! I lost my phone on 6/20/2025. Walked into the store to obtain a new one since it's the closest store to me. Two representatives "helped" me (it looked like one was being trained and the other was teaching her how to "sell". They both mentioned that the line and the phone would be free and I'd only have to pay the taxes since I have 4 other lines with them. They convinced me to get a 5th line I did not need in order to get the iPhone 16 Pro max for free; everything seemed legit so I went ahead and did it. Today I review my bill... and it's about $76 extra! I call 611 to see what's going on and after speaking to a representative for about 20 minutes, I ask to speak to a survivor since we didn't seem to be getting no where; after being on hold for about 15-20 the customer service representative hangs up on me. I head to the store where "Tony," the store manager seems standoffish and unwilling to help. Eventually he agrees to a measly $66 and mentions it was "Human error." It did not seem like human error to me. To me it felt like that's the way they do business at that store. Even if it was human error, then there is definitely a lack of training between Tony and his employees. Needless to say, I called Verizon customer service once again when i got home and that representative was a lot more helpful than the store manager who's store originally sold me the phone and a new line through deceptive ways. So if you need a new Verizon line or phone, i would suggest anywhere else but the Downey, CA store on Lakewood and Stewart and Gray... for your own sake. read more

This was the WORST service I have ever received. Go elsewhere for your business needs... The business account manager (Pablo) advised my bill would be under $250 per month, but after I made the switch to the business account my bill has been excessively high (exceeding $300 per month, and one time reaching over $400). To make matters worse, I had no idea I needed to download an entirely separate app to pay and view my bill. So late payments were inevitable. For some reason, they opened FIVE lines all of them active, when I only needed three. The first bill was high (I reached out - asked for an explanation, I was told it would be taken care of). This was the pattern for the months that followed with no resolution in sight. It appears that this company lacks integrity and will do anything to get your business. Turns out, they were supposed to suspend the extra lines, but that didn't happen until nearly three months later when the manager finally bothered to look into my account - claiming layoffs were the reason for the delay. Oh - should mention the emoji's he sent when I expressed my disappointment and dissatisfaction with the service (a thumbs up emoji). I advised I was coming in person to the store, and was told "they'll just tell you the same thing and redirect you to me." Sure enough, when I arrived the store associates said they couldn't talk to me, said the store manager would just redirect me to Pablo. I asked for the DMs contact, and was told "we aren't allowed to give that information out" then they came back out with a post-it, purportedly with Pablo's manager's contact information. I don't even want to bother calling, as it appears no one cares. Rudest customer service ladies I have ever experienced. I went in to pick up my phone (that I ordered online) with the pick up information. The customer service lady went to get it from the back and then refused to give it to me because I didn't have my physical drivers license (my wallet was stolen which I explained multiple times) and she told me to go get a dmv print out! Other options the other ladies working had passport I said 'I don't have one' her reply was 'who doesn't have a passport?!' Real id? I go to show them the one on my phone 'NO the physical one what don't you understand?' I explained again that my wallet was stolen. Finally the beyond rude customer service lady told me 'if you can get ____or____ to come in and get your phone then we can give it to them not you' well blank is not mobile and the other one doesn't live in California. Which I explained but they stressed they will only release my phone to blank or blank...not to me the one that paid for it. I should also mention that they not once asked me for my name. But they did wish me luck getting my phone and then laughed. So if you love to be treated badly I can definitely recommend this store location. If you want to be treated with respect and kindness like how a person should treat others go anywhere but here. This is definitely not the location for that. I would also like to mention that my family has been Verizon customers since 1992 and have always received amazing customer service that ended this evening(10/11/25) for us but after seeing your latest reviews apparently your customer service fell off awhile ago. Shoutout to Diego for his amazing customer service today! I came in to transfer my grandfather's LG Android smartphone to an iPhone 8 that I had purchased on OfferUp. Diego shared that they don't normally do data transfers, but that he would walk me through step by step. Diego showed me how to do a transfer using an app downloaded from Android, changed out the SIM card and activated the phone for me. What I thought was going to be a long and grueling process was made simple and easy. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes at no charge. Walked in after ordering a phone on customer service phone service. Came in and walked up to OMAR the manager. He got my phone and I recieved the text "your phone is ready." I give my ID to be told im not authorized, which I explained he just text me and I am standing there. He said I have to call customer service AGAIN and tell them to authorize me. I tried to explain that the payment for the phone and emails were all sent to me. So while attempting to do what he said him and VALENTE. Continued to do nothing to help, and talk about movies and nothing to do with phones. Im not sure but last time I checked CUSTOMER service is towards the CUSTOMER, and not just talking to eachother while a customer stands in front of them trying to fix a problem. Don't go to this store. Customer service is rude from the bald so called manager. I went in, and he spoke to me. I told him what I was there for, and he said he would be right back. Okay, no problem. When he came out, he went to someone else. After sitting there for 5 minutes. I asked a girl if there was a waiting list or if I needed to sign up somewhere. He told me he had checked me in (from across the store). Ok let me know, the way he talked to me was rude. He had the attitude that I was disturbing his day. When I asked when a different manager was available, he snickered and said he wouldn't know because hours fluctuate and aren't set. I was a little apprehensive to show up after reading the reviews. I tried calling Verizon for assistance and ending up speaking to someone who quickly said he'd transfer me to someone who could help me get a new SIM card. After nearly 2 hours on hold, I drove to this location. They had a small table and tent set up outside to assist customers. As soon as I walked up, a young lady asked me how she could help. I explained my situation and she verified all of my account info before telling me that a manager would need to approve the SIM card. I may have waited about 10 minutes for the manager to become available and locate the SIM card. During my visit two other employees asked if I needed assistance. This store is doing a great job with covid measures while continuing to provide service. I'm glad I went in and won't hesitate to visit this location in the future. read more

This is the worst business establishment I have ever dealt with in my life. Ghetto is the word to describe this place. The management here is shady, incompetent, and need behavioral training. All the employees are obviously taking the leadership que and are just as rude to the customers. This place should go out of business if this is the way they operate. Someone at this store took advantage of my elderly father who has dementia, he came into the store because he thought he had an account there (he did not, he has dementia and cant remember that fact that we canceled his verizon account years ago), he thought his phone stopped working. The volume was simply off. Instead of assisting my father in turning the volume up on his phone, they sold him another flip phone with a $50/month account (which is more than the cost of the actual phone) added a protection plan and basically sold a dementia patient into a brand new plan, which is in fact elderly abuse and is ILLEGAL. When I found out what he did I took him back to the store to ask for the phone to be returned and did ask the staff why they took advantage of him. They got defensive and brought out who I assume is the manager. His name was Anthony Duarte. This guy should be fired, he outwardly denied all claims and was so rude to the point of asking us to leave when we brought up the fact that their sales motives were illegal because my father himself could not remember the actual conversation at all. I asked them if they can refund the re-stocking fee, they refused. I walked out of there having to not only pay the re-stocking fee but verizon charges for his phone due to opening an account, which should have never happened in the first place. This place is full of blood thirsty people who only want to make sales and will take any action to do so, whether it is right or wrong. If this Duarte does not get fired or reprimanded for mishandling this specific situation, I would be strongly concerned for Verizon's act of service. I have been a Verizon client myself for over 20 years and never have I dealt with such negligence. When I spoke to escalations customer service they vehemently apologized for their behavior and assured me that this should never have happened. They issued me a refund right away. When I asked if the store could have just done this without the trouble of me calling and escalating my concerns, they said yes. So Duarte just wanted to give me a hard time because he did not want to admit his lack of customer concern. It is actually shocking how someone so unintelligent and rude is in charge of this location. This downey landing location just wanted to make a point by not only denying claims but refusing to help me after they knew they were in the wrong. I was advised to take legal action against this location, and still think about if I should. read more

There are many more, but this is my favorite: "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" (Taylor Swift) "Ugh, so V calls me up and he's like, 'I know I changed your plan even though I said I wouldn't then I racked up loads of fees that I said I wouldn't and charged you on items I said I'd waive, but I still love you,' / And I'm like... 'I just... I mean this is exhausting, you know, like, We are never getting back together. Like, EVER.'" If Charles & Eddie were Verizon in a song, they would serenade, "Would I Lie to You?" Yes, V, you would. And you did. "I got 'Another [Provider]' and he ain't nothing like you... he's not pushy (no) lazy (nah) he's motivated (yea man)..." (That's lookin' at you, Itch feat. Megan Joy.)
