The download speeds are at or near the promised 1 GB, what makes fiber different is the upload speed is also identical. I did hesitate becoming a Frontier customer given their past reputation for poor customer service, but that hasn't been my experience. I've had service techs visit me twice, both on time and successful with their service. Price point is a bIt higher than the competing cable service (then again, you kinda have to get their cell service to get the best deal). Still, service has been fast, mostly trouble-free, and consistent.
