Felt like I just walked into a used car lot. Girl who was helping me didn't even know about the buy one, get one free deal for the Samsung s8 OR how much it would cost to open up two lines under the beyond unlimited plan, but she DID know how much all the accessories (wireless charging pad, extra phone insurance, etc) cost. Would not take no for an answer...Looks like girls can't even follow the no means no rule. read more

To my surprise, not only was I greeted warmly, but I didn't have to wait at all. On a Saturday. I was happily surprised, to say the least, and that joy continued throughout the transaction, as I was neither pressured nor blown off. My phone decision was honored, I wasn't inundated with reasons why I should get anything else, and the gentleman was able to answer every inane question I hit him with. A true champion. I will absolutely recommend this store to anyone looking for Verizon merch in the future. read more

I recommend avoiding dealing with third party retailers and conducting any business directly with Verizon. This location employs deceptive business practices. I upgraded my iPhone and was misled about two things: 1. I was asked to pay $99 out of pocket when I upgraded my phone, in addition to the 24-month lease. I asked the associate how an approximately $700 transaction at 10.25% city tax rate would equal $99. I inquired multiple times and asked for an itemized receipt. I was insured multiple times that the out of pocket expense was only tax. Only later when my receipt was emailed did I uncover that the tax was only $74. Hidden additional charges of $10 for "set up and go" and $15 for a SIM card were included. The associate knew that I was keeping my old phone and did not need a new sim card. When I called the store later to ask about these charges, I was told that they were standard in the industry. Why not be upfront about these charges if the customer asks? Even if they are standard, the customer has the right to know what they are paying for. 2. When a customer chooses to upgrade a phone at a physical store, there is a surcharge of $40 for a device activation fee. I asked the associate about this fee several times, and was told it was standard and that only Verizon customer service could address it. As it turns out, if the phone is upgraded online directly with Verizon the fee is reduced to $20. The associate was aware of this when I called later but chose to withhold the information. Based on principle I returned the phone and will be handling any further business directly through Verizon. Save your time and frustration and avoid this location read more

Julio was great. He showed excellent professionalism and patience. Even though I had challenges remembering passwords and PIN numbers he patiently assisted me and resolved all of my problems. I would pass multiple Verizon stores to go to this store and have Julio assist me. I highly recommend him. read more

Anytime you feel rushed in a cellular store I think it deserves five stars. My phone was royally messed up and I took it in to this branch on Labor day. The guy asked what was wrong with it and I gave him a quick explanation and then stepped over to look at the weird gadgets that were new on the market. I didn't realize that the clerk was waiting for ME to get done, so I stepped back over to the counter and tried salvaging some things from my old phone, signed something and that was it. What's funny is that just before my experience I was waiting for my girlfriend who was at the sprint store right next to Verizon-They were so inept trying to call different customer service reps to modify service that it took a good 45 minutes. I was expecting more of the same at Verizon but in less the 10 minutes I had my phone replaced. read more

TERRIBLE! Like other reviewers, I went in and was sold what I thought was a reasonable "plan" only to find out that they tacked on way more charges in the long run and now am paying MORE than my previous plan, which I was trying to reduce. I even asked the sales rep before leaving, "is this the charge that will appear on my bill?" as to avoid the surprise charges and he said YES! I was completely lied to just to make a sale. When I went back in and asked them to explain the extra charges, no one could answer my question. They just kept reading me the bill, which I can do on my own. No One had an explanation, which is the worst part. I still have no answer to my extra fees. The sales rep became condescending and rude as I pushed for an explanation, as if it was my fault. All they could do was give me the 800 number for billing! I have been a Verizon customer for ten years and this place put such a bad taste in my mouth that I will find another carrier as soon as my contract is up. So disappointed. read more

Know what you want before you go and STICK TO IT. Went in because my replacement I-phone 6 freezing and not charging just as my original I-phone 6 was. I wanted a phone and was prepared to pay full retail for it because I did not want to be locked in for 24 mos. Christian spent an 1.5 convincing me to upgrade with a bundle promo (includes case, vehicle charger, speaker and tablet) that was supposed to make the phone half off. Twice I said, forget it because costs kept going up. First, my trade-in credit was decreased so that the $15 per month quoted increased to $25 per month, then I found out there would be a $30 upgrade fee (which the manager agreed to credit in 30 days when I said I would back out and purchase the phone), then I had to make a cash payment of $320 for the bundle. Huh? Supposedly that was so that I could get the discount on the phone? Again I said, no because I don't need a tablet, etc. But by now, I'm tired, my meter is expiring, I'm hungry, I say okay but I don't want to pay per month, I will pay the charge upfront. NO, I can not pay it off until after 14 days. I should have abandoned then. My mistake. Then when I rang out, I noticed Christian did not print a receipt. He said it would be emailed. Again, red flag. So I get to my office and look at my online account and find that I am being charged a $20 per month line charge for the tablet that I have NO use for. So let's add up the cost of this phone: 25.46 x 24 months = 611.04 20.00 x 24 months = 480.00 (access line for the tablet I never wanted) 320.00 for the promotional bundle __________________ Total cost: 1,411.04 Retail price for Samsung S8: $756.00 Of course when I called to discuss the store number went to the call center and a call to Christian's mobile went to voicemail. Had I done this purchase online, this would not have happened because me and Excel would have taken our time and crunched the numbers. Still deciding whether to return it all or just wait until the last 4 of my company's 25 lines go out of contract and move them all to another carrier. read more

I came in last week with an issue regarding my my Galaxy S6 not fast charging, an issue that seems to be quite common based on what I've researched on the internet, there's many threads with many different answers and YouTube video's with 100's of thousands of views discussing the possible ways of fixing it. I could not fix the issue, so I went into the store that I bought my phone at. I was met by a young woman who was apparently was their only "Android Specialist", told her about the issue, she said she had never heard of that before, so she went into the back for a few minutes to "Check the Forums." Lo and behold, she wasn't able to find a solution to my issue. So she told me her only option was to tell me to call customer support, and if I didn't like that to talk to her manager, Ramon. So I went up to Ramon, explained the issue that I was having on my phone and told me that he "only employed Iphone specialists because that's what most people in this area buy." He then proceeded to tell me, without looking at my phone or even trying to address the issue, that "Best Buy has Samsung Specialists, you should go there and have them help you." I didn't buy my phone from Best Buy, I bought it from this Verizon store. I spent $1000 on this phone last year, paid for a case, A 2 YEAR INSURANCE POLICY THAT THEY DIDN'T EVEN BOTHER TO LOOK UP at this store last year, and the best thing they can tell me is to go to Best Buy? You suck at your job Ramon, I'll never do business at this store again. How lazy, unprofessional and disrespectful, easily a top 5 worst customer experience I've ever had. Just walked in the store and one of the managers Ramon didn't even look up from his phone while talking to me until I didn't respond him in which case he then looked up waiting for my answer. Hector, and another employee Mariah provided excellent customer service. They were both very friendly, professional, and had excellent product knowledge. Ron had helped me initiailly when I went in and he was super helpful in helping me get a replacement phone for my broken Samsung Galaxy s5. He ran quickly through troubleshooting and got me an overnight replacement shipped to my office within 24 hours. He was also really courteous and knowledgable in addition to providing great service. Thanks again Ron! I also worked with Jerzy, the store manager, as I had to return to the store a few days later for assistance in activating the new device. I actually learned after the fact that he was the manager and I'm glad to see he is someone who leads by example. He greeted me immediately upon entering the store, told me someone would be right with me, and walked over to help me out very shortly after that. Jerzy was also very helpful and also made some good recommendations on how to protect my phone going forward. It's great to see that even this store's managers are so willing to help and it definitely shows through in the employees working there. I'll definitely be doing my cell phone shopping at this store going forward! read more

I called to inquire about whether or not I had insurance on the phone and the guy basically hung up on me. He said he couldn't help because there were people in the store he needed to sell to. I thought I'd write a positive review since so rarely people do so. I have used this store for my cell service over the past 2 yrs. Although I have never had an overwhelming positive experience, I have also not had a bad one. I always expect to be at any cell store for an hour when I go for service. I just find that the nature of the beast. However, everythime I have gone to this store, I am in and out within 30-35 minutes. I realize ahead of time that chances are I will not be in and out in a fast manner. Cell stores have always been crappy about this sort of customer service. Do I expect more? Yes. Am I a realist? Yes. I have to remember I am not dealing with the creme-de-la-creme. Anyone can be "trained" to work in a cell store. read more

Is it possible to give negative star ranking? Negative 100, Verizon. You have wasted my time and money for the last 8 months. IF YOU LIVE ANYWHERE NEAR WICKER PARK, DO NOT GO WITH THIS CARRIER. I REPEAT, DO NOT GET YOURSELF LOCKED INTO A CONTRACT WITH VERIZON. Perhaps you are wondering why all the shouting. I'm not normally an angry person. But, see, apparently they're doing some work on the tower in this area. Work they said would be completed months and months ago. In the meantime - your cell phone will be useless anywhere on this end of town. When I signed up with Verizon last July, the tower worked fine. Verizon and I were buddies. I told everyone how wonderful Verizon was. I got 1500 business cards printed up bearing my Verizon number, because I could tell this was going to be a long term relationship. However, only a couple of months into my contract, my phone became utterly useless. Because it is my primary work-line, this created a whole heap of problems - not to mention the fact that I can no longer talk on the phone to my mother, boyfriend, or college roommate. Skype is my new life partner, but alas - a girl needs a cell phone. I have made two visits to the Wicker Park store, and both resulted in nothing but a waste of my time. Both times, as soon as I walked in, the store manager put me on the phone with customer service. Both times customer service told I should, instead, be speaking with a representative at the store. Verizon has essentially stolen a couple thousand dollars from me. I have on serveral occasions requested to be compensated for inadequate service. The closest I got was the manager said he would credit my account a measly $30 - which, by the way, never in the four months since has posted to my account. I am certain they will not do the right thing and let me out of my contract without a penalty of a couple hundred dollars. But at this point my choices are to pay expensive cell phone bills for little to no service or drop a few hundred dollars to have this headache go away. In the last 8 months, I would estimate that about 95% of my calls have dropped. I wish that was an exaggeration, but unfortunately it is the honest to God truth. Certainly, it is my own stupid fault for sticking with this company for as long as I have. But, I wanted to believe, Verizon. I wanted to believe that you would change! People of Chicago, save yourselves. read more

I have been to many different Verizon stores over the past ten years. (I have been a verizon customer for at least that long) This store has the best customer service anywhere. You can tell it comes from the top down. Jerzy, store manager was very helpful with my FitBit purchase. Ron, was very helpful with my Samsung specific questions. But, Myeshia, was absolutely amazing! She took time to explain the very complicated changes to the plan and figure out which plan was best for our specific situation. She saved me money. She explained features. She is a natural at sales and customer education. I appreciate that I never felt rushed or hurried. There never was high pressure sales. We will come back for all future upgrades! read more

Mariah, my customer service rep, was outstanding! I recently received a replacement phone through the mail, and was overwhelmed by the process of backing up and wiping the history from my old phone. My iPhone8 was malfunctioning big-time when I realized I was just a few blocks from the Verizon store. No one, I repeat, NO ONE likes to spend any time whatsoever in their cellar provider's store due to technical issues. When my phone was acting up yet again, I ventured into this Verizon outpost for some assistance. Yanni, the store manager, could not have been more helpful. He took a bit of time to peruse some options on the web after diagnosing my problem with some kind of app launcher. I'd run into this problem in the past and the fix was to entirely wipe out my phone and start from scratch. Obviously, that solution sucks, so after Yanni wiped the phone, he wanted to prevent me from experiencing the same problem in the future. This took a bit of time, so he welcomed me into the back office and let me watch football on his phone while he worked on mine. Come on now. That's very nice. Turns out the factory installed app launcher sometimes freezes up, so he installed a new one on my phone and helped me get set up. He also prevented me from totally losing my shit when I thought all my contacts were lost (they weren't). Truly, just a stellar guy helping wigged out customers. I can dig it. So if push comes to shove, and let's be honest, more often that not it does, and you have to go in to a Verizon store to have your phone serviced, I would highly recommend this location. read more

Never too long a wait; always friendly and helpful, conveniently located. The regional manager Isaac was so helpful in explaining everything that I was changing with my plan and set me up with all my new devices. I cannot believe how helpful Eva Rebollar was when I went in with a malfunctioning phone on Tuesday, February 22nd. She explained everything really well and had a few laughs with me about how little I knew about what my phone could do. Since my phone was still under warranty and it randomly stopped working (I couldn't hear through the ear piece when someone would call), she replaced it for free with a phone they had there! I have been with Verizon for several years and have been extremely satisfied with my service. I recently upgraded my phone and wanted to make sure I did my research. I stopped by a few locations. The first locations I stopped at I was disappointed with the sales representatives due to their lack of knowledge on the products. They just wanted to sell me the latest and greatest phone without taking into consideration what I was looking for or what my budget was. I wanted to take a moment to write a review for Joe because he was so helpful. He listened to what i was looking for and how much I was looking to spend. He gave me advice about the phones I was looking at and made other suggestions based on my interests. Furthermore, he helped me save money by looking up the price online and at amazon when I mentioned that it was cheaper there. By the time I left, I had all my questions answered. I would definetly go back to this location and recommend it to others. read more

I was a Verizon customer for 8 years and then decided, with my boyfriend, that we would both join accounts to one plan with an entirely new carrier. Let me tell you how that worked out...within three days of the new plan we return to the Verizon store to have my account reactivated and to add the second line. We went to the store thinking they could just reinstate my account, but they no longer have access to do that and had to call their "win back" department. So I sat on the phone in the store with the "win back" department, and one of the store employees, Marques, checked in on us every few minutes to make sure we were ok. After an hour, we were ready to go...or so we thought. The woman I spoke to on the phone assigned a random number to my account, instead of my actual number. Once that was fixed, something else was wrong and they had to fix that too. Marques and the other staff were problem solvers and figured out how to correct my account, add my boyfriend to the account and get our new phones up and running. Throughout the entire two hours we were in the store (yes, two hours!) Marques was very attentive, personable, helpful, apologetic, and pleasant to talk to. Although we were there so long, I didn't feel as though it was a burden because the staff was so great. They asked if there was anything they could do while we waited and my boyfriend jokingly asked if they could reimburse us for parking as we parked in the street. Marques advised us that there were a few parking spaces in the alley specifically for Verizon customers. So my boyfriend was able to move our car, without having to pay the meter again for another two hours. In addition, they were closed and still helping us set up our phones and transferring contacts. Overall I had a good experience, despite being there so long. The time in the store was because of corporate errors, not the staff at the store. Downfalls: Having to call Verizon corporate to reinstate my account. Had I known that, I would have done so prior to my visit to the store. That was probably the most frustrating part of the visit. I was also frustrated that there was an upgrade charge to get a new phone. I think this fee should have been waived because of my wait and all of the errors. Advantages: Friendly and knowledgeable staff, and free parking! read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. I went in for a new phone and the guy who helped me told me he could lower my bill. He also said to pick out a case and that with the new plan I would get a hot spot for free. I made it CLEAR that I did not need a hot spot and if I had to pay for it I did not want it. Two days later when my husband went to a different Verizon store they informed him I was charged for the "free" case. I called Verizon and they took it off my bill. I also called the store and told them what happened. The manager on the phone said they would look into it. The person who had helped me that day also gave me their business card---meanwhile it was a card that was for someone of the opposite sex who no longer works there. Fast forward a few months later I look at my bill closely (it goes through work and I don't always see it.) I am being charged for the FREE Hot Spot. the worst part is that I went into the store, and when they looked up my account they said "Jimmy" had helped me that day. When Jimmy came over I knew that he was not the person that helped me. Jimmy was small build with facial hair. The person who helped me was very large and heavy set. I spoke to Ramon, the manager. Not only was he rude and unhelpful, he made me feel like this was my fault. He also told me he could not do anything and that I would have to call customer service. Why are there physical locations if they can't do anything to help you? I have been a customer of Verizon since it was AMERITECH, these people have been the WORST.
