The wireless service is through the same towers as ATT, but for about half the cost. That cost differential comes up in their customer service. My blood pressure always rises when I call their customer service team. I don't want to bore the reader with too many details, but when I tried calling for confirmation of some details I was told to enter my 4- or 6-digit security code. I was flummoxed; I hadn't set a security code. Trying the usual codes I use, I was greeted with a system response that they couldn't find that code and to try again. After the 3rd or 4th iteration their VRU (voice response unit) finally told me I could say "I don't know it", which I did. When I finally got in and connected, their customer service agent said now we're going to set up a security code. I was annoyed that they modified their processes to require a security code without telling their customers. How hard would it have been to include a note in our bills that this change was coming and to be prepared the next time we called customer service? Doesn't anyone think about how these changes will affect their customers before those changes are implemented? If you never have to call their customer service team, you might be satisfied with their service.

The savings (I just discovered) is $1.00 a month. AARP is $16.00 a year. NO savings at all! 2) I just bought a new phone and a screen protector. The screen protector I received is flawed. They do not do refunds for those. I paid $21.00 for it - thinking they would have a higher quality product. I was wrong. Do not purchase this unless you go to astore and have them put it on before you purchase it and see that it works. I will not be giving them a good review going forward. I'm very disappointed. Shame on you Consumer Cellular.

We stopped in to check out their 55+ program and Avery was well informed and very respectful of our needs and concerns. She explained every detail and all of our questions were responded to in a positive manner. We had been AT&T customers for decades, but in recent times have been less than pleased with their customer service and pricing policies. We immediately saved around $250 a year by switching to the 55+ program currently being offered by T-Mobile. We took advantage of having our car set up for broadband access with t-Mobile's sync hardware. The store manager, Akash immediately set up the hardware and associated software in our car and on my iPhone. He was extremely positive and super knowledgeable, plus an all-around good chap! In addition to basic roadside assistance, one of the benefits of the sync hardware is that you immediately receive recall and service notifications about your car. One of the service notifications we received when the system went active dealt with a particular issue that we had been having with our car and had been unable to pinpoint the exact problem. Because of this feature we now have a solution! Overall, a very positive experience with the crew at this t-Mobile location. We were also fortunate to have the Portland area marketing manager present at the store when we signed up for T-Mobile service. His name is Drake and he was totally awesome!! Had a very keen and vigorous sense of humor and made our entire experience pleasurable and unique.

He wasn't trying to upsell us on anything, literally might have been one of the best representatives/ managers we have ever talked to regarding support / service. Thank you Jeff, for providing service beyond expectations and rolling with the punches while we figured out what needed to happen. You were were so amazing and I hope a manger Is able to receive and spread this praise to you!

Twice the same Hillsboro location gave us the wrong covers. So frustrating. Newberg returned them no problem. We will definitely be back to this local store for any further needs.

Also, if you pay off your recently-deceased mother's iPhone, they refuse to remove the carrier lock. Understanding that corporate is responsible for whatever carrier locks they have in place which also directly violate the FTC's Feb 2024 law changes, no one in the store will even tell you that. They'll tell you to call in and sit in phone tree hell eleven different times until you get someone that will tell you the rules. And as soon as you also say you're moving your dead mom's husband to your plan to save him money, they'll sit down, watch YouTube videos on their phone and won't even talk to you or assist you with assistance on the account you're closing, which is ironic considering you're closing it because your mom died and your parents were severely overpaying for two phone lines and one financed phone. Happened on 10/29 to me. I'll do everything in my power to make sure everyone I know is aware to not do business with ATT (and Xfinity whose Newberg store is equally horrific).
