This is an UPDATE on my review of this terrible store. I went to the Verizon store IN MANHATTAN and they were absolutely wonderful, kind, friendly, responsible, and they fixed my problem in one hour. They did exactly the opposite thing that the Verizon store did on Flatbush. Let me be clear. Ash and Akif were so completely horrible that they made me cry. Ash talked down to me and got angry at me, and when I asked to speak to a manager, they simply laughed at me, made fun of me, made me wait for 20 min alone, and then kicked me out of the store. I cannot express to you that this was one of the worst store experiences I have ever had in my entire life, not just a Verizon store, but any store. The regional manager should fire all of these people close the store and then open the store again with new staff, because with all those one star reviews you can see that this place is just not functioning. On Friday, 10,2/2022 in at about 3:30 I went to Atlantic Center to attend to my account. The manager, a very pleasant, professional woman showed me to a seat and said that someone would be with me shortly. Some time later she directed a guy whose name, I think, was Bill. He told me I'd have to wait and started to walk away, I asked how long that might be, he replied about half an hour until another rep showed up. I left. read more

I don't know what it is about this location, but somehow this store tarnished the otherwise immaculate perception I had of Verizon. While this was not my first visit to this store, this was absolutely the most unsatisfactory visit to a Verizon store, and to any retail store for that matter. Here was my problem. My phone went missing; I don't know if it was lost or stolen, but it is definitely gone and I wanted to suspend my service until I got a replacement or located my phone. A fairly common problem in a city this large, so it is most likely a routine procedure. I also wanted to see if I could get a replacement, as I pay for the Total Equipment Coverage that covers loss, damage, defect or theft. I've had Verizon's phone insurance for years, so I am 100% familiar with the terms and conditions of the program. I probably go in one or two times a year to make a claim, so I'm not new at this in the least. So I show up to the shop, put my name and number into the kiosk for service and wait. And wait. And wait. I ask two different associates if someone would be able to help me and get the same "automated" response, "someone will be right with you." Yeah, thanks. I'm the only name up on the service board and as far as I can tell, none of the associates are busy. One guy is behind the counter listening to music on his smart phone, the guy at the desk across the way is licking his lips and checking out the only associate who might be helping someone. There's another woman is behind the counter finishing up a 64oz soft drink and a couple guys going in and out of the back room. After about 20 minutes, I hear "Sir, sir, is anyone helping you?" - "Oh, me? No." "Did you sign in?" - "Uh yeah, my name is right there on the board. I'm the only one on it." "What's your problem?" - "My phone went missing, I need to suspend service and inquire about a replacement." "What's your number?" - "xxx xxx xxxx" "Do you have insurance?" - "Of course." "You can do it online." - "Excuse me?" "I said, you can do it online. File your claim online." - "Yeah, but I am here in the Verizon store. Can't you assist me?" "Take this brochure, it will explain everything." I open the brochure and start to read... - "In the brochure it states 'notify Verizon Wireless as soon as reasonably possible so it may suspend wireless communications service.' Do you mean to tell me that you can't do that here?" "Nope and we don't replace phones here. Sir, you will have to go online." - "Are you for real? I've used Verizon for nearly a decade, anytime I have an issue with my phone, I always bring it back to a store for repair or replacement." "You will have to go online." What's the point of this coverage if you have to "go online?" What's the point of a Verizon store in the first place? I've broken, lost, or damaged about dozen phones in my time, and every singe problem was resolved at a Verizon store within a few minutes of making a claim. Up until this encounter, I have not been without a phone for more than a couple hours in all the years I have been with Verizon. After I returned home I "went online" and filed my claim. In four days, I should have a phone mailed to me. Wooooie! FOUR DAYS WITHOUT A PHONE! Full disclosure: Verizon has been my carrier for nearly 10 years. During that time, I took a lot of crap from my friends over the most trivial things. Like how the RAZR came to Verizon a year later than AT&T, crippled phones without all the features, or how it took the iPhone four revisions to make it into VZW's lineup, but I maintained that even though Verizon was slow to adopt the latest phones and technology, service was always the best. Up until this incident, I have never had a single problem with Verizon, in any capacity. I ranked Verizon up there with Apple, McIntosh Labs, and Campagnolo in terms of my own customer satisfaction. Really, I love Verizon, but this particular store really makes me think less of the company. If anything, I just won't ever return to this location, but this experience will stick with me forever. Absolutely unsatisfactory and third rate, I'd expect this from a mall kiosk, or big box store, but not the brand's direct retail & service outlet! Please, don't go to this location. I went to this location for the first time today with my husband to replace his phone. There was one other customer in the store being helped by an associate, and three associates hanging out, having a conversation. I stood in front of them and waited for a bit. When I said, "Excuse me," they looked up at me as if I had said something outlandish and offensive. I asked if they could check something for me and was told, "You have to download the verizon app," and they resumed their conversation. My husband then said he would like to buy a phone. The same associate looked up, and rudely replied, "Which one?" My husband said, "An iphone 13." The associate said, "Okay, which one?" My husband said, "This one," and pointed to the display model. The associate then said, "We don't have any iphones left," and went back to her conversation. I felt like I was in a Saturday Night Live sketch about rude retail associates. I recently sent a letter to Consumerist.com about Verizon and thought that it would make a pretty good review of specific VZW locations as well. Here 'tis: I'm on my father's cell family plan because it's cheaper for all of us to have the one plan even though I live in NYC and my parents live in Ohio. We've had Verizon Wireless for two years and recently were faced with the decision to either renew or find other service. Because he couldn't find a carrier that had the coverage, phones, or price he wanted, my dad decided to sign up with Verizon again. Since it's a renew, we're all eligible for new phones at the 2 year contract discount. When I went to upgrade to the phone I wanted, we ran into problems. I wanted a smartphone that was listed on the website as $199.99 with a $100 online rebate. My dad tried to buy the phone in the store since it was listed as being $99 there, too, but one Verizon rep told him that we had to buy an Unlimited data package with it - which I didn't want - another rep said we didn't have to buy that package but it would be easier for me to buy the phone in a store in NYC. When I went into Verizon stores here, I got craziness. Each rep literally told me a different thing. From 'Yes, we have the phone in the store but the primary account holder has to be here to buy it.' to 'No, no one has that phone in the store because it's discontinued.' Some reps at the Brooklyn/Atlantic Terminal store told me that they could order the phone for me, but two of the three reps who told me that gave me different stories on price. 'You can get it for $99 but only with an Unlimited Data Package' and 'I can order it for you, but you have to pay full retail of $299.' I'm an avid Consumerist reader, so I am well aware of what Verizon reps can and cannot do. I went in armed and they STILL came with the bullpucky. At the store on 81st and Broadway a rep and a manager both told me that they could not give me the online discount/rebate in the store. That 'Customer Service' doesn't allow them to discount phones (lie). The rep in the Verizon area inside the Circuit City down the street was even more hilarious. He said they had the phone in stock. I asked for him to give me the online discount and he said he 'couldn't'. When I said, "That's a lie, I know you can," he said something like: 'It's not a lie, it's just in the way I say it to you.' WTF? Then later he said, "I could discount any of these phones down to zero if I wanted to, but I won't do it for you or him or her or anyone." I told him not to try and convince me he was full of integrity, he did work for Verizon, after all. Finally, a rep in the store on 42nd and 6th told me that it was indeed true, no store had those phones anymore (though they have them on display...) and really the best way to get it was to go online or call customer service and order. That did not end my troubles. After some fun and games where the website was wrong and calling customer service did nothing but piss me off more, I almost gave up. Completely at the end of my rope, I went to Consumerist and found a list of Verizon Executive's phone numbers. I called one, got an assistant who sympathized with me, who then put me in touch with Executive Customer Service (yes, such things exist). Someone from ECS called me the next day, apologized, was really nice, and FedExed me my phone for the $99.99 is was supposed to cost. I had to go through all of that just to get one lousy phone. The moral of the story is: stay away from Verizon if you can. Also: don't believe the salespeople when they tell you they can't do aomething. Do your research, find out all you can about reps and their selling practices (Consumerist is a good place to start) and don't let them con you. And don't go to this particular location, they suck. read more

This will be the last in a long line of unpleasant experiences here. While I set my expectations for verizon customer service very low after 10 years as a wireless and small business customer, they always manage to outdo themselves. Long review ahead, sorry! I ordered a phone online for my husband for father's day and arranged for in store pickup. Arrive to no other customers ahead of us, and the gentleman who approached us was polite and friendly. After they asked me if I was sure I arranged to pick it up there for 15 minutes they managed to find our order. we informed them we had a limited window for running errands as we were toting around a tiny baby but the sales pitch continued. Then came the next round of computer issues, which I won't bother getting into. The nice gentleman that was helping us was brand new and clearly having issues processing our order. At this point we were already an hour in. Several other unhelpful employees, including managers came over, and should have helped him finish, but couldn't have been bothered. After another forty minutes our daughter was getting hungry, so I had to feed her. This did not go over well with the employees, even though I was covered up with a shirt(not that I had to be.) Every employee in the store was staring at me, shaking their heads and scowling. One actually made an audible scoff of disgust. Verizon should familiarize their employees with the numerous state and federal laws that state that a mom can breastfeed absolutely anywhere they're allowed to be. I'm not self conscious about feeding my daughter, but I can only imagine how potentially damaging this kind of discrimination could be to a new mom struggling with breastfeeding. I was annoyed enough about wasting two hours of my life, but this really took it to another level. An employee at this store named Jason called to ask about my experience and was apologetic, but this still a completely unacceptable experience for anyone to have. read more

It's like she's moving in slow motion and has never seen a phone before. She just deleted my backup numbers and told me sometimes the backup just doesn't work. I'm slowly losing my mind...at least I didn't get a two year contract so am not tethered to these clowns, but feeling buyer remorse before leaving the store is pretty insane. Read the Yelp reviews prior to my visit and came here expecting a total nightmare. Happy to say that wasn't the case. Yes, it was a pain in the ass having to sign in and I did have to wait (about 15 minutes) but my service rep LaToya was very friendly, patient, and knew what she was doing. My advice to other Yelpers would be to try to come here when you're not in a hurry. It's a bit of an involved process and not a quick in-and-out kind of place. read more

Chris(sales associate or manager- handsome,brown hair, glasses, about 6'4") greeted me cordially and not only did he immediately help me find what I was looking for but he also gave me the more affordable option. DAMN. I feel like the anti-christ writing this review. Maybe things have improved since 2007? I would certainly hope so. Despite the shittiness at the rest of the stores in the Atlantic Terminal Mall (i.e. Target, DSW, Old Navy and Daffy's), this Verizon was quite a pleasant experience. I barely had to wait, and both sales associates who helped me out were really nice. At the register I did feel a tad bit pressured to purchase all the lil extras for my new blackberry- but being the strong-willed, strong-personalitied, and just plain STRONG woman that I am, I had to put my foot down. Homegirl didn't want me to pull my guns out ( arm guns, not like weapon guns). All in all, I would love to do business at this Verizon again. And in terms of Verizon's service. I couldn't be a happier woman. I've been with Verizon for over 4 years now and wouldn't have it any other way. Except maybe once I can realllllly afford the iPhone and the monthly bill for it. I just hope that one day Verizon will get over themselves and hop on the iPhone bandwagon and then I'd have the perfect combination. read more

Unfortunately, after struggling to make it there for service to one of my devices on Christmas Eve, to my shock the gate was pulled down; although employees were in the store. They indicated they were closed -- before 6pm Christmas eve! The rest of the mall was teeming with people -- lines were formed outside of stores so as to organize entrance and purchasing. SCAM ALERT! During COVID 19 I attempted to get Verizon service. I ordered a router. Setting up this router was supposed user friendly and I was suppose to get service easily said a customer service representative. This was the first lie Verizon told me. It took weeks for my router to come and weeks for a technician to come. Eventually a technician came. They looked at the outside of my apartment and the wiring. After this they they told me that they were the wrong team for the job and they would be sending other technicians. Another group of technicians came they told me that they couldn't do anything due to the Corona virus. Mind you they never informed that they were not going. To be able to examine inside my home due to COVID when I asked. They said a hold would be placed on my account and I would not be charged. I then called to cancel the service that I never got( funny right!). They were happy to do that because they knew the scam they would be involving me in. I contacted customer service to return the equipment I got from them. I was given a ' disconnect order'number and I was told that returning the equipment would be easy. That was incorrect! I went to the nearest UPS as they instructed me twice. Upon visiting there they told me that my ' disconnect order' number was wrong. This is where the second stage of my battle with Verizon began. I contacted Verizon numerous times to send me a return label so I could send their equipment back up to this day I haven't received a return kit. Over the weekend I missed two calls from their company concerning this matter. They called me concerning and outstanding bill for a service I never had or equipment I never got to use and this equipment I made several attempts to return. After speaking to me they said that they would investigate and an email would be sent to me with their findings, well that has yet to happen. I spoke to the supervisor Alex and he was extremely rude and unprofessional. I told him that I was treated unjustly and I would share my experience on social media. He proceeded to tell me "OKAY BYE,BYE"! I was then passed on to IC system. This is a debt collector. I had to pay $73.87 for equipment that I never used or a service I never had( Verizon was never clear on what the chargers were for. One day they told me it was for the equipment the other day it was for the service). This is a scam Verizon is running! 2020 has been a hard year for many individuals and Verizon hasn't made it easier on me and many others. I shared my story with my friends and each and every one of them had a bad experience with Verizon. Their service sucks and they are scamming individuals out of their good hard earned money. They lied to me and I am very disappointed and upset! Please share this and make others aware of Verizon's scams on their customer. Make others aware of their poor customer service and robbery. As soon as I walked in Marcia helped me. She was wonderful and her customer service was the best. She knew about the product, and any question we had she knew the answer. We didn't have to wait long for anything. I got my bill paid, a new line, new phone, a new case and I spent less than an hour in the store. She was wonderful. I would recommend going in and asking for her. She even explains your receipt, your next bill cycle, and explain how the phone worked (my uncle is new to IPhone). Apparently the only internet service available to me is Verizon DSL, for which I have the pleasure of paying $40 for unreliable internet slower than what you could get living above a Starbucks and stealing theirs. The McDonald's upstairs had better customer service, and their bathrooms were equivalent to the cleanliness of the Verizon store and the Verizon employees' mouths. I stood and got lied to for over two hours at this location just to get a SIM card. I am ending my 25-year relationship with Verizon Wireless because of the treatment I received at this location. worst experience I've ever had at a Verizon Wireless store. I lost my phone and went in to see what I could do about getting a new phone. I tried asking one of the helpful poeple at the front door. I was asked if I had insurance and since I do they walked me over to a phone and told me to call in a claim. Funny enough I had just asked if I could to talk to someone to see where I was in my account to see if I could do my upgrade. After calling in the claim and finding out it would be $160 I hung up. Once again I asked if I could speak to someone. They put my name on a wait, I was number 5. I wondered around the store watched as 4 employees stood by the door with their little handy pads to put people names down for a wait. I waited, and waited saw a little computer so that I could check on the status of my account on my own. I checked it found out when I could upgrade, told them to take me off the list since they couldn't help me. Walked across the street to the Viva Movil which is also a Verizon store and was helped out as soon as I walked in. Got a new iphone 4S in my hand and a lower phone bill. Wow what a difference walking across the street can do. Avoid this store and go across the street it will be worth it read more

My roommate and I moved to an apartment in Williamsburg and signed up for high speed internet with Verizon Wireless. To say the least, the service is horrible. It's been about a month since we signed up, and we have probably had internet for a total of FOUR DAYS. It works for a day after the technician comes, and then all of the sudden stops working altogether. This has happened two or three times already. The customer service over the phone is also unhelpful and impolite. I wouldn't reccomend Verizon internet to anyone in the area. read more

Absolutely terrible. I ordered a new phone online and it showed up damaged. I brought my brand new, never activated phone to the store as I had been directed by the customer service person on the phone. I was told by the representatives in this store that because it was "physical damage" they would not provide a replacement even though it showed up that way. They were extremely rude and short with me, did not even try to be helpful or offer to help me figure out another option. They essentially said "Not our problem" and sent me out the door. Run don't walk to Shantel, a service representative, at this place. My experience with her was exceptional. Shantel was very friendly, professional, patient and extremely helpful. She REALLY went out of her way to help me. My little story: I had lost my phone, and as I do not have a landline and work freelance, I was in need of a new one asap. The insurance company was giving me trouble, but she sorted it all out, even if that meant that she still was on the phone when the store was closing, yes, you read that right, no " sorry the store is closing I can't help you further, try tomorrow "etc. She patiently sorted out the matter in a very professional way. I think they base their customer service model on Applebee's that is upstairs from them. Entered the store, chased around 2 different employees trying to get help..nope too busy finally after about 15 minutes an employee came to me to sign me in (thank you). But you have to sign in and wait "at least 60 minutes" to be seen. When I told him I ordered everything on line - he looked bewildered and then told me - "well look at all of the people here already" there were customers all over sitting on the floor, looking like they wanted to kill themselves it was really depressing.. all of the employees were extremely busy doing absolutely nothing - texting chatting and swatting away annoying customers. still have to pick up my phones but the walking dead look in everyone's eyes made me walk out read more

Ask for Natasha Campbell, who spent an hour with me, but in that time (when she expertly took care of everything) I watched the other girls helping other folk. Probably the worst customer service I've experienced. There was one guy (I forgot his name) who tried to help me out with an issue and a girl with braids who was nice, but everyone else was terrible. The manager SUCKS and knows NOTHING. The 2nd time I was there, one of the reps kept trying to sell me stuff I didn't need (after I kept telling him I didn't want it). There was an issue with my application and he reluctantly called Customer Service (which was the wrong department to call) and I was on hold for over 10 minutes. I told the manager and he said "well it's the same number that we all call and it takes a while". I just hung up, I thanked the woman and told the manager that the service sucks. He basically just shrugged his shoulders. I nearly canceled my service because of it but I'm going to give another location a try. Do yourself a favor and NEVER shop at this location. I've been to this location a few times. I had phone and battery issues, but their customer service representatives were pretty helpful. For the first time, I arrived to visit a salesperson. I was a little disappointed that he didn't help out as much as I would have liked. I'm in the market for an iPad or Tablet. I really wanted to get his expertise on the difference between the two since the store carries both products. and I really want to make this purchase within the next month or so. The man was clueless. He couldn't tell me the basics. I mean how do you work in a store and not have the answers on tech specifications or features? Then I asked him if the Tablet has a usb port and he says no. At that point, I figured my interest in both had come to an end and I'd just have to buy a laptop. I left very frustrated and left the same way I came. I simply said I'd do my own research, thanked him, and walked away. I later found out from a representative I spoke to online that he gave me the wrong answer. He gave me his card if I chose to make the purchase but I definitely won't be giving you that commission mister, you need to hit the books and study harder. read more

This is the most ghetto Verizon Wireless store. By that I mean, because it is located largely in a neighborhood of color, they think that they can treat you however they want. Such a shame.
