Good when it works, but service is already out for several days after just two months. I consider internet service one of these things that should work all the time. I just got service in Dec from Honest. I came back from a five week trip and had no internet upon my return. They diagnosed it as a problem in the lines coming to my unit (so not my issue) but it will still take them 3 days to come out and restore service. I understand that they are less expensive than others, but I can't really deal with outages like this. If it happens one more time, I'll move on to a more reliable provider read more

Not the fastest service plus I'd called because there was a security breach in my banking system and asked the tech support how many emails or access to my account were there. I was told only mine...not true. I received an email just a few hours ago that was also being sent to an email address not attached to me or my account. Not cool to be lied to like that especially about someones account security. read more

We are finishing up week #1 of the one-month trial and so far the speed tests have been good (i.e. around 800 megabytes per second for download). Our time with Honest has been good so far. The highlights: Andre did the install and I've not met many ISP techs in my life but we could tell right away he knows his craft inside out and enjoys it. We spoke to Rachel later to iron our some contract/money issues and that went very smoothly as well. It also helps that when you dial the number, you don't get that [expletive] "Hi! Thank you for calling [name of (expletive) company here]. Please listen carefully as our menu options have recently changed (no they have not). Also we are experiencing higher than average call volume, which is our way of saying that we don't know the concept of "average." You get a ACTUAL PERSON (or at least a very convincing artificial intelligence), thank heck. Lastly: the night of 1/6, our speed tanked. I texted the customer support # and within minutes got an answer, and shortly thereafter our down/up speeds were back to normal. All in all, so far so good.... my Cherophobia keeps insisting that /something/ will go tits up but so far it's been solid! read more

It's fast when it works, but I have had issues with video stalling for the last few weeks. Never had this issue with Spectrum and unfortunately I see patients online so consistency is vital. Yesterday the WiFi quit working for a prolonged period, and I couldn't even speak to a customer service rep. I could only leave a message. Decided to pay extra for service that hasn't given me this issue over the last several years and am canceling. read more

I have been a customer for a year or two and I think they are by far the best ISP I have ever been a customer of (I think it would be about 10 companies). The service is super reliable and fast. Last two providers were Verizon and spectrum. I had long term accounts with both and probably had their technicians out to my place at least 10 times and experienced over 30 huge outages that sometimes last days. Since getting Honest I've had zero outages (caused by them) and 2 caused by me accidentally. Their customer service responsiveness is outstanding and the team really care. So I'm back online within an hour or two. Lastly they are excellent value price wise. So all up I'm a huge long term fan. read more

i truly could not be happier with this ISP. we have gone through optimum, spectrum/time warner, and many others. we have never, ever had a service as good as Honest...not even close, frankly. installation (Carl) was fabulous, and they work with you for whatever your specific home logistical needs are. when you call customer service, you don't wait on hold for hours, you don't get some callback later in the day. you speak with a human being, right away, immediately. when you report an issue with wifi connectivity, they send a technician out that day or the next day. Honest then follows up via personalized text message afterwards to make absolutely sure your issues are resolved. only once was there ever a major internet outage. Honest sent text and email updates with detailed recounting of what happened and when service could be expected to be restored. then, without even asking, Honest voluntarily provided a 50% statement credit for the 14-hour outage to every impacted customer. i am simply blown away by Honest. this is textbook customer service. not to mention the money saved in monthly fees. could not possibly recommend them more highly. read more

Stellar internet service backed with great people, at a great value. We do not watch TV or use a landline so Honest was perfect for us. Installation was fantastic. Installation time was booked in advance via an online calendar for a specific time, not the usual cable-guy "sometime during the morning" scheduling method. Appointment was confirmed through email and phone. Andre from Honest Networks came to install, he was extremely professional, friendly and knowledgeable. He got the job done quicker than expected despite us being the first customer in the building. He tested the internet rigorously both using wired and wireless options to ensure reliability was good. Internet speed. Wired internet tested over 1100Mbps to connect to Netflix servers via Netflix's "Fast" benchmarking app. Can consistently get 500Mbps+ in the apartment over Wifi in both upload and download speeds (speed is mostly limited by the limits of wifi speeds frankly). A huge upgrade from the 75Mbps/75Mbps that I was getting from FIOS. I would have stayed with Verizon given FIOS's stability over the last several years but they would/could not upgrade past 75Mbps. Reliability: Knock on wood, I've never seen the internet go down. Andre mentioned there are redundant microwaves to multiple buildings and physical fiber links, none of which are expected by weather. Value: Hard to complain about internet that is half the price of FIOS and 12x as fast and is just as reliable. Top notch value! read more

There's usually not too much to an internet service - basically just pick a speed/price and hope you never need customer service. But, Honest Internet impressed me to the point of writing a review. They have set the bar for awesomeness. Basically, Honest internet works fine, just like any other internet -- but on top of that, they seem to have great people that make me happy to use their internet....They basically will take care of you. Every interaction has been really above and beyond my expectations. (1) They're really responsive - as in, a quick email late at night will get a real person's response (not an automated filler). So, to start...Even when I was initially just thinking about switching, they answered all my questions back-and-forth via email at 10pm, and quickly won me over with a great deal (matching the speed & price of Verizon, with months off), and made transitioning over super seamless/easy. (2) Next, to get it all set up, they patiently worked around my gnarly schedule, even with the multiple last-minute changes via email. And the technicians were so pleasant and got everything done quickly. They were respectful of my space, COVID-masked, and cleaned up after themselves...and maybe took ~15-30 minutes from start to finish. (3) Lastly, I had ongoing internet port forwarding/VPN tunneling issues that had gotten snarled (between business vs my prior internet provider IT teams - thus wanting to switch to Honest in the first place). Again, to fit my schedule, and outside of their wheelhouse, they asked their amazing network engineer Dan (thank you Dan!!!) to help me solve it in less than 30 minutes...All just in time for the holidays. They really went the extra mile for me as a customer, so I felt like they deserved a review. I hope I have Honest internet wherever I end up moving to in the future, because they're amazing. I just switched to Honest Internet from Verizon Fios and it is one of the best decisions I have made. I saw them advertising in my building and did not want to go through with it since it is often a hassle to change internet service providers. However, I got fed up with Verizon and decided it was worth it to make the switch. As far as the process of switching, it really couldn't have been easier. I called their support line and scheduled a time for installation that was convenient for me as the customer (took less than 5 minutes). I was not given a 4-6 hour window of when the technician may arrive like most internet providers do. This was great since I often have a challenging work schedule during the week. The technician (Carl Yard) arrived right on time. He was in and out of my apartment in 45 minutes to 1 hour. During his visit he was courteous and answered a long list of questions I had about Honest Internet. Carl also mentioned that he had worked for a number of competitors in his career and working I also recently had the opportunity to meet Landon Tucker, the CEO of Honest Networks recently in an event in my building where he was promoting the business. He took a lot of time to talk to me about the service and Honest's business plan. He was upfront with me about why he decided to go in to business and his focus on customer service. He seemed genuine about providing an excellent product and being honest with the customer. It is refreshing to see people like him try to take on the big players and be disruptive. I personally hope that they take off like a rocket ship. I told him that my wife and I would eventually be moving out of NYC to be closer to our families in the southeast. I signed up for honest.net after the roll-out in my building. To put it simply, it was a fantastic experience that I would highly recommend for anyone cutting the cord. Speeds were actually as advertised (I was getting up to 300mb/s) for much cheaper than the incumbent providers (fios and spectrum). The entire install experience was actually extremely easy and customer service was rapid. I only had one issue the entire time I had the service, and it was literally resolved within an hour. I never heard of Honest Networks, but my building recommended it. Wow, is it fast! I have yet to have a single service interruption, and the speeds are never really slow. I could use my PS5 online, play a YouTube video, and check my email simultaneously with no real change in download/upload rates. Mighty impressed. Switched from Spectrum last month and so far there have been no losses of connection like my building would regularly experience with Spectrum. The highest speed achieved is in the 300mbps range, somewhat Dishonest as the company advertises 1000mbps - turns out that type of speed is only over ethernet, not Wifi. Nevertheless, it works pretty well, better than Spectrum. The installation service was excellent - technician Andre was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond in working with my ancient setup. The next evening, my Roku wasn't working, but John was able to remotely make an adjustment and get it going - via text!! So light years beyond Spectrum in terms of customer service. It's month-to-month billing with no commitment, so I would say definitely worth a try if you're looking for an upgrade. read more

I'm the first adopter in my building (249 Broome St) and it works really great so far! Set up took a little over an hour, partly because I was the first one in the building, but speeds are just as advertised (we did speed tests during set up) and significantly cheaper ($50/month + $5/month for router rental) than Spectrum/Time Warner, which is unreliable, more expensive and not very fast at all. I've wanted fiber broadband for a while and was disappointed when I found out Verizon fios wasn't available in my building, but I did some research and Honest does seem to offer the better deal as well in terms of pricing, speed and service. Robert, the founder, came over to do the set up and explained everything very clearly (not that there was much to explain, it's pretty straightforward) and left his cell phone number in case I had any questions. I was impressed! Also got to chat with him about his company and basically his startup in the west coast did well enough to get bought out by a bigger provider but he wanted to do same thing all over again in NYC. So he has the experience/skills/resources to make Honest a successful startup and I really hope it takes off! Support local businesses, folks! This is the best deal on internet in NYC with $50/month + 30% discount code for over 1gbps up and down (symmetrical) at least in my building and confirmed via Speedtest. Verizon charges $15 more per month for half the speeds provided by Honest, and you can pay less with Spectrum but they're using Cable, so your upload speeds will be terrible and download speeds won't be as good as Honest's either. I don't think Honest is everywhere yet, but if they are in your building they are 1000% the best option available and you should not go with anyone else especially if you care about customer support and upload speeds. read more

They were able to come get my WiFi set up the day after I moved in (and on a Sunday no less!) which was incredible. The internet connection from Honest has been rock solid since I got it months ago. Multiple streams, downloads, etc .. no issues no problems. When I had FIOS the max in my building was 50Mb and they would not upgrade equipment. Honest was able to provide Gigabit speed and this has been night and day with connectivity. read more

I have used RCN, Comcast(xfinity), Optimum in the past, and now I am the first resident in my building using Honest. So far loving it WAY better than any providers I haves used. Here are my views: What do you need for internet? Fast internet, that's it. You don't need bundled service, annual contract, a bulky ancient router you have to remember to return otherwise they will charge hundreds of you or din your badly on credit score (COME ON!!!!) These guys are super cool, they actually came from Google Fiber, we hung out, talked about all sorts of cool things while the network was set up like a breeze. They are very accommodating on the time and everything, as I won't be able to be available during the business time, and my home was like a mess on my first day of move-in. They mounted the router, organized the cables, and even clean-up the cable cabinet so that it made a room for my NAS. Compared to my previous provider, I had to drive and pick it up the router from their store, figure out the cable within my apt, make all the wires, and go online and activate the connections. I mean I consider myself tech savvy, and it took me hours to get this done. I have been using the internet for weeks, the speed is so fast, I cannot go back anymore. These guys are great! The service is as fast (maybe slightly faster for ethernet?) as the FiOS I used to have for half the price! I knew that going in, but tonight I was having an issue with Disney+ access so I went to the website and texted an Honest rep for support. Went from Tony, sitting on a boiler room call center trying to sell me some price reduction package to get me to stay, not taking no for an answer, to a warm and genuinely happy voice in Jenny, getting me hooked up and actually picking up the phone as opposed to an automated robo activated message. Scheduling the setup was incredibly easy, the installation was fast and the tech was a pro, and there have been no service issues while streaming video, doing videoconferences, etc. Their customer service is so much better than what we've had to deal with in the past with Spectrum and Fios.
