Although we had Thursday dinner reservations, we arrived 1/2 hour early, sat at the bar, and stayed for ~ 2 hours. There was a significant rainstorm throughout Naples so the bar and restaurant areas were only maybe 1/3 full and the 5th Street music events we came for were cancelled. The bartenders were friendly and attentive and the food was great. Weekend eves are a hot spot with live music. Vergina is one on our list of restaurants to dine in SW Florida. read more

Walking into this restaurant we came with high expectations considering the ambiance from the road and the reviews. We were ushered to the back of the alley outdoors and sat in a less than desirable area. It was very hot, no fans for that particular area, no music, just very plain. We did go for happy hour so everything was half off! Which was great, until we tasted the food. The Chicken Masala was very bland and lacked any desirable component. The spinach was just steamed and thrown onto the plate next to the under seasoned mashed potatoes and the poor quality, questionable chicken breast. The chicken Parmesan tasted like spaghetti O's. Not trying to be funny here, but the flavor was uncannily similar. The tiramisu. Please just don't do it. Our bill was $80, which meant it would have been $160 on a normal day-non happy hour. We came in with some family friends because they raved about Vergina. We had to wait about 30 minutes for a table so we sat at the bar and ordered drinks. The drinks were all good and strong. They also had live music. The vibe is just chill and everyone is having a great time. Once we sat down we ordered our meal. I added pepperoni to the pizza because it looked good in pictures and it also tasted good. We were a party of 6 and everyone liked their drinks and food. The wait staff was attentive on refilling our water and making sure we were ok We had a great time, with good food, drinks, and good company. The portions are also small which I guess is something to expect in a fancy spot like 5th Ave in Naples. Also the service was not the best. This place has the low ratings it does for a reason. We walked by here and I told my boyfriend "this place has 3 stars on Yelp, let's try somewhere else instead". One of the employees (I guess the manager?) heard us and asked us to give them a try. They offered us 50% off. Of course, we said we'd try. The place itself is very cute and service was great. Our waiter was awesome. The manager brought us a glass of prosseco which was thoughtful. But the food itself was very mediocre. Meatballs tasted average and didn't really have much flavor. Shrimp scampi was a little bland. The complimentary bread was actually fresh and tasty and my cesar salad was too. Everything else was pretty average. What made us upset was that as we walked out, we noticed they changed the entrance sign from offering a lunch menu to offering a 50% off happy hour menu... so in other words, the manager bribed us to try their menu half price when it really was just a happy hour menu. Which made sense as to why the menu was so limited. We saw another table with a much bigger menu. Next time, he should tell people they offer a happy hour menu and let them decide if they'd like to try it or not. We feel like we didn't really give this place a fair shot since we couldn't pick from their real menu. Just a big disappointment. read more

We had our office luncheon Christmas party at Vergina in early December. The ambiance was great and the service was friendly. We placed our orders and one main course was not delivered and later a dessert was not delivered until we called back our server. Six of us ordered meat dishes medium or medium rare and they were delivered medium well -the server never came back to ask about our meals so we couldn't get any satisfaction. Drink service was slow and we ate our meals often without the benefits of our wine and beverages. I later sent two emails to contact the restaurant to let them know of the failed service and food prep and they asked for an additional email but never did get back to me. They don't seem to care. It's a shame because the setting is great and our apps and many of the dishes were tasty but we spent over $1250 and next year will take our business elsewhere. read more

Visited January 12 and found the servers, hosts to be extremely nice,attentive and informative. Dinner was terrific, service prompt and overall, 5 stars . My friend and I went here on Saturday afternoon during happy hour, which, by the way, is one of the best I have been to. Everything on the menu is half price. We had calamari, Italian chicken wings, fettuccine bolganese, and lemon drop martinis. We sat on the patio and watched the world go by while enjoying delicious good and excellent service. We were royally ripped off on NY's Eve - a party of 8 with reservations at 6:30 ($95/person fixed price menu) - 4 bottles of $65 wine, tax & automatic gratuity and were charged $2400 - which was over $1000 more than we should have been charged. Split in 4 and each couple paid about $600 for a meal....it was a scam! Multiple tries to contact a manager starting 10 minutes after we left the restaurant, showing up to see the manager when I was told he would be there and NOTHING. Will dispute this horrendous overcharge with cc company and never set foot in this dishonest place again. read more

A group of eight friends went to Vergina's for the New Year's Eve dinner for their prefixed menu for $95. You had to order by 7pm. Our reservation was at 6:30pm. To our stunned surprise, our bill came to $2300. We did order 4 bottles of wine which were under $70 each. We have been trying to contact the managers to complain without any response. If you go to Open Table, you will see we were not the only people that were charged $195 instead of $95. It is very disappointing that the management won't respond. read more

Our waiter asked if we wanted sparkling or still water. We asked for still. When we got the bill, we were charged $9.50 for water. When we asked the waiter why we were charged for regular water, he said he opened a new bottle for us. We had no idea it was bottled water! Never going back (and we are locals). Crowded and loud. Sol refilled our cocktails. i ordered the Jumbo Shrimp Scampi appetizer, wow it is so good I ordered another one instead of dinner. My friend ordered the Wagyu Meatballs and they were delicious she then ordered the Veal Piccata and it was so amazing. We kept watching the food coming out and it all looked wonderful. Sol is a very sweet young lady and helped us with our ordering, everything she told us was right. The food here is delicious and all is served hot and fresh. Worst Linguine Vongole ever. I was so excited to have a nice lunch at one of 5th Avenues many Italian restaurants. I was sorely disappointed. The pasta was so overcooked it was quite mushy. And although the clams were tasty, the rest of the sauce completely lacked flavor. Bland soft pasta. I wish I had chosen elsewhere. They kindly took the pasta off my tab without me asking. Had reservation but no tables outside when we got there. Inside was very loud as had live music and bar and restaurant collide in odd way. Music not fitting for this upscale place. Food was great. Cocktails were good with great options. I had Chilean bass over risotto. Friend had gnocchi with scallops with a pistachio bases sauce. Both delicious choices. One odd thing is that they have several people standing outside trying to lure you in which seemed a bit what you see in places desperate to fill seats or in other countries. I had a terrible experience last evening after taking other people to Verginas! The food was good, but the waiter and the manager treated us terribly! We are older and one person was late and was coming for dessert so we asked that her dessert and drink be served when she arrived. The server didn't oblige and when we complained the manager backed the server rather than giving my friend a fresh drink and dessert. Then the manager had the nerve to add the tip on to the check! My wife ordered two appetizers and were incredibly, the Mussels in white wine broth was really good and octopus plate as well, these are the hits... the misses was the Caesar salad and the with bone Veal parmigiana..... Salad was to dry, lack of dressing, the sliced parmigiana cheese was flat and I asked the waiter to stay true to the salad to include anchovies in the dressing... but just got 4 fillet of anchovies on top of the salad. lol I dig anchovies but that was unreal. Main course.... the veal parmigiana could have been more tender, waiter convinced me to order the veal instead of the chicken.... Should have stuck with the chicken and would have saved a few bucks as well, espresso was bitter and sucked. Bourbon Manhattan was perfect. This place had some killer meals! so very YUMMY! However! Do not stay late on a Friday night! As the restaurant becomes a full BAR/CLUB. I repeat Do not go on Friday night for dinner after 10. Now, if you want to Party.. You're at the right place! Honestly the food was amazing! We expected to have a normal night and our food was absolutely delicious. My compliments to the chef, everything from the calamari, the burrata, and the fish. We absolutely scrumptious. Although, the food was great what wasn't so great were people partying during a pandemic WITHOUT A MASK. I don't know about you but I didn't sign up to get Covid-19, all I wanted was dinner. It was terribly packed that the line was out the door and drunk people were falling in front of our eyes.
