Driving through Naples and we found this restaurant on Yelp. What a cozy little place! Their website says "Our food is made with Love" and I believe it! I've never been to Italy but I imagine this is what it would be like. Sonia was our server and I think she's also the owner, she seemed to know most of the customers there, many who also spoke Italian. My fiancée had a craving for lasagna and at first we didn't see it on the menu but Sonia pointed out that it was called Trio dello Chef and came with cannelloni and manicotti. Then she said "you only want lasagna? That's fine!" Very accommodating. The lasagna was amazing and came with a side salad but I think I was more surprised that our two side orders of garlic bread and meatballs (3) were probably the BEST I've ever had! Really happy that we found this place on Yelp! read more

Love this wonderful restaurant. Don't skip on dessert and cappuccinos! The service is always great and the ambiance feels authentic!

This is one of the best restaurants in Naples - let alone the best Italian restaurant. The food was spectacular - the lasagna feels like you're in Italy, the pasta dishes are fresh and good portions. The bruschetta was amazing, I felt like I was having the best sausage from the Italian Market in Philly! (which is cappuccio's btw), the deserts were amazing - and even though we were full they felt very light. The homemade tiramisu is a must - if not go for the chocolate cake. read more

The food is outstanding, and the service is friendly. Reservations are a good idea because the place is small and popular.

As soon as we walked in the door, the staff was kind, quick, and helpful. They brought drink and homemade bread (which is amazing) right away. We got the calamari for an appetizer, and there wasn't much on the plate compared to past dinings, but it was still phenomenal as always. We got the Penne ala Vodka with shrimp, and it was really good, and heats up great at home. We also got the Italian Trio, and it was nice to be able to sample 3 separate dishes. We ended with the chocolate cake and an espresso. The chocolate cake was very rich and amazing, and the espresso was fresh, the perfect way to end a dinner. We will definitely be back! read more

The service was very nice. Love the people here they're so friendly and this is a family run restaurant as what they told me which I think is very nice tho they don't wish to expand their business. The food was really good and I ordered dessert it was very nice. I really liked how when my mom wanted to try a sample of one of the types of pasta sauce they got it for her in no time no problem with no charge. read more

My birthday dinner is always Italian. While searching for places, and with a little YELP from you guys we found this gem of a place. I called and spoke to Sonia who accommodated with a reservation. What we didn't know was they were closing after tonight for the summer break. Loved that Sonia made her way around a few tables to check on folks dinner. She didn't stop by us, but it was ok. As she was so busy because the place packed very quickly. Ok, to the review. Short and sweet . Salad was ok, meatballs could have been heated up more, bruschetta was incredible, fettuccine with clams and mussels very very good, wife's chicken piccata could have had more fettuccine, and our son had a dish of pasta with oil and sausage. I know simple, but the fact that they accommodated our son (special needs) and made his dish with as much love means the world to us. He loved it. Wine was great. Deserts were incredible. We couldn't decide on 1 so we just ordered 4 (tart, spumoni, tiramisu and cannoli) of them. Susie our server was a star from start to finish. Reading the reviews I saw they charge extra for using cc so I used cash. But that was not a problem. The service , ambiance, and food were all on point. Hope they have a great summer vacation and hurry back as we will be back for sure!!! Great job read more

Food was great-got it to go. Great chicken dishes & shrimp scampi. I would go back! The portions were huge and nicely presented. Seems like it's a well kept secret in a strip mall-try it! read more

First and LAST TIME! Wow...the service was slow (20 mins before a server arrived to the table...only after I requested), portions small, and seafood special was Long Jong Silver style (breaded smelt). Patio is within 6 feet of a busy plaza parking lot. Olive Garden puts this place to shame! Not sure how it's still open. read more

Where do I begin? No server for 20 minutes, bus crew that seemed bothered, asked us to keep our forks, overcooked chicken piccata that was not lightly battered and pounded thin. It couldn't be cut with a fork and it was tough like shoe leather. Save yourself money and the hassle. Too many other great restaurants, this is one and done... read more

First time for me not to finish a meal at an Italian restaurant. It was busy for a Wednesday night. Service was good. Portions in line with moderate prices. I just did not think that a value was served. Caesar salad looked like it was out of a plastic bag. The dressing was served on the side and tasted like a cheap store bought dressing. I thought the calamari was perfectly fried but the marinara was lackluster. We simply did not like the bolognese sauce. Definitely was not simmered long enough and did not taste good at all. The music seemed too loud. Maybe because it was awful music for any restaurant never mind an Italian restaurant. We sat outside. Basically on the covered sidewalk of a strip-mall. It was too bright and the white led lights were harsh on the eyes. I will not make plans to return when there are so many other Italian restaurants to pick from. By the way, when our check came. We were told that there would be an additional fee if we used a credit card to pay. Poor business practice! read more

Old school Italian cuisine. Ordered Baccala Livornese over angel hair which was delicious. Very good service. Meals arrived in a timely manner, with nice size portions. Frequent diner. Never had a meal which did not meet or exceed my expectations. Worth trying, you be the judge. Domenico read more

Fun family restaurant owned by Italians directly from Italy (Not to be confused with NJ Italians). The food is fresh, homemade, made with love, and served with all of the genuine hospitality that transport you back to your last trip to Italy. The gigantic television silently playing scenes from cities and villages around the country will make you desperate to book another vacation in Italy. Buon appetito! In a city full of Italian restaurants, this one is worth a special trip. read more

Incredible food and service, wonderful time, bruschetta, sausage peppers & onions were the best I have ever had, caprese salad was so fresh and tasty, chicken parm was full of flavor, wine was delicious and reasonable fair prices across the board. More than anything they treated us like family. Thank you. read more

Excellent food & service. Kudos to the kitchen and staff. Excellent parking facilities.

Saw so many great reviews so had to try it. Just didn't shine at all. Meatball app was fair at best. Small and not moist at all. One dinner linguini white clam. Pretty average pasta and clams very chewy. 2nd dinner cavatelli and shrimp with red sauce. Shrimp very small and only 4. Pasta ok but not great. Overall- nothing special. Also very small place but service very good. read more

Very small restaurant not enough tables. I had veal marsella which wasn't very good. The sauce was too watery and it was not very well seasoned. Chicken parmigiana was okay. The service was good. read more

When asking for a table for 1, I was told, "...you'll have to give it back by 5:45." That was 45 minutes from when I asked. What a tacky, insensitive response, not to mention humiliating. Because I was single, I am a second class citizen. I will not be going back. read more

Such an excellent dining experience. Reservations are highly recommended, because I walked in without them on a Tuesday at 4:30pm and the place was filling up fast! I was seated but told I had to be done by 5:45pm because the table was reserved for another party. The decor was cozy and inviting, the staff was super friendly and they had me in and out in no time but without rushing me. The food was excellent with very large portions. There was more than enough to take for my lunch the next day. The quality of the food was superb! My dinner came with a really fresh side salad and warm bread. If you're searching for good Italian food in the Naples area, then I highly recommend you stopping here. read more

Trattoria Mangia - Pollo Carciofini - Italian Near Me - Naples, Florida

As we just returned to Naples for the season, my husband and I were so excited to get a reservation at Trattoria Mangia. We don't know what has happened but we were so disappointed. The bread served was one step above white toast, the salad was soaked in balsamic and we couldn't eat it and our meals did nothing to change our disappointment. I had the special pork and beef braciola with walnut ravioli. The pork braciola was mushy and the ravioli should've been cooked a little more. My husband had the lobster ravioli with shrimp and he said it was mediocre. The best part of our visit was the two accordion players. Tratorria Mangia was one of our favorite restaurants and sadly we will not return. read more

SO GOOD! I give this restaurant 5 Stars! Trattoria Mangia is our favorite for true authentic Italian cuisine, excellent service, and great wine selection. The inside decor makes you feel like you are in Italy. Reservations recommended because the secret is out! read more

The BEST! We go to this quaint Italian restaurant when ever we're in Naples ! The Veal is amazing ! read more

Had a nice dinner here on a Saturday night. Called at 4 and got a reservation for that night at 7:45, which was perfect. Sat outside, it's not a big place. We had the caprese salad to start, which could have used for balsamic, but was good. We all had different pasta dishes and enjoyed. Good service. There is an upcharge if you pay with credit card versus cash. Nice place. read more

Walking in the restaurant I felt like we left Naples and entered a small beautiful Italian cafe. This place family owned where the chef makes fresh pasta, excellent sauces and a full wine menu. Our server was excellent she was the daughter of the chef and her mother ran the front of the restaurant. A hidden gem worth finding for authentic Italian food. We will be back! read more

After reading the reviews I figured I'd give Trattoria Mangia a try. It had these glowing reviews about its authentic Italian food and how it's a must try and you won't be disappointed blah blah blah. Well I was disappointed and actually bothered that I dropped almost $300 (which includes $55 on a bottle of wine) on some of the worse Italian food I've had in a long time. Geez where the heck do these people eat giving this place 4-5 ? I will admit I probably have higher expectations then most especially when it comes to restaurants rated 5 stars but this place is a 3 max. Olive Garden makes tastier food and that says a lot. Okay before I go off Trattoria Mangia is a cute place, nicely decorated with cute relics which gives it a cozy feeling. The staff was friendly and service was okay but none of that matters when the food is not that good. To begin with Trattoria needs to get rid of that cheap greasy, tasteless olive oil that's on the table. It's just pure garbage! Water and bread came out relatively quick. The bread was served warm and was not bad but I made the mistake of dipping it a little olive oil, salt, pepper & cheese sauce I made. The cheap flavorless olive oil just ruin it. Anyway, started off with 2 appetizers La Fragaia (fried calamari) & the Guazzetto (mussels). The Fragaia came with 2 shrimp, some calamari and a whole bunch of zucchini (all lightly battered and fried) looked great but was tasteless/bland except for the zucchini. The Guazzetto (mussels) which came in a nice fresh tasting tomato sauce was pretty good. The following entree's were ordered Penne alla Vodka - tasteless, I've had better vodka sauce out of a bottle. Veal Modo Mio - paper thin all you could taste was the breading Flounder Francese - another tasteless entree, I knew I was eating fish but very bland. Shrimp Scampi - the shrimp were good, the sauce was below average. Note: all entrees were ordered with linguine because we were told it was homemade however, the taste fell short. Your choice of salad came with each entree. We went with the Ceasar salad which did come out on a cold plate ( 1 point) however dressing tasted store bought.. Trattoria Mangia is like cruise ship food it's looks so delicious but when it hits your mouth you're like "it's terrible" I love trying new places and do rely on Yelp reviews to guide my decision but it hurts when everyone over rate's restaurants. read more

We found this place through yelp and it was fantastic. The restaurant is in a small plaza but when you walk inside it wows you. Great atmosphere. The staff were so friendly, service was fantastic. Now the food. The homemade pasta was incredible. We had a couple different pastas and they were perfect. The flavors in all our dishes were so good. Highly recommend to anyone wanting a great Italian meal to go here. read more

This local, busy Italian restaurant is in an unassuming shopping center. But that is where the distinctive, charming delightful experience begins. Trattoria Mangia is awesome! Great ambiance and excellent service that goes perfectly with their homestyle cooking. From the moment you walk in you can help but feel the warmth and coziness of this place. Seriously... just like walking into a friends home. The wine list isn't big but has a little bit of everything. Dinner was great and plates are pretty big. Fried Calamari: perfect crunch and it comes with fried zucchini and the sauce is light and tangy. Fresh fish: grilled and comes with veggies or other 2 sides of your choice. Veal porcini: Delicious, lots of mushrooms and the sauce is creamy ... not heavy. The place gets packed so plan ahead.it isn't a big restaurant and people here come to eat and talk.... there is no rush when you are at Mangia's table. Definitely a great place to come and have dinner with friends and family. read more

This is unquestionably the best Italian restaurant in naples. Love the service and the homemade pasta atvthis restaurant.

A great surprise - my wife loves marsala but can never find a good one. Turns out it's great here! Try it, you'll like it. I got gnocchi gorgonzola again and it's still delicious but I want to try linguini with clams or the rolled pork next time. read more

Great food and service! Eggplant and lasagna were awesome ! Everyone loved their food even the kids!

Amazing service, the waitress answered all questions very thoroughly and explained how every dish would taste very accurately. The food was amazing and very fresh! All of the pasta and bread was homemade and the breaded Veal was delicious. The ambiance was also very nice, you wouldn't expect it from the outside but the decorations make you feel like you are in Italy. Hidden gem, would 100 percent recommend to anyone! read more

My family absolutely loves Trattoria Mangia! The service is great but the food is amazing! I'm fairly critical of Italian food and I must say that every dish I've had here is wonderful. The homemade pastas and sauces are great! Tonight for me it was the Chicken Parmigiana feature with Pomodoro sauce. Delicious!! I wish I had taken pictures but everything was so good that I couldn't delay digging in. Thank you, Trattoria Mangia for another wonderful meal! read more
