They curate whatever drinks based on your preferences, including sweetness, fruitiness, etc. They ask you about your preferences, and then based on that they have a designated drink ready. It is not in a traditional menu where you order it which makes it all the more fun! The vibes were immaculate and very clean, the service was fairly nice even though they were busy. Drinks run $20 each and we're all amazing!

You walk in and there's a clothing store on one side and black curtains straight ahead. I just stood there confused for a second until someone suddenly appeared and escorted me through the curtains, down a long dark hallway, and into this intimate, dimly lit bar. Turns out, I had accidentally stumbled into a speakeasy. The space is tiny--maybe 6-8 seats at the bar and a long banquet along the wall for 10-12 more people. No menus either. They ask what you like and don't like, then craft a cocktail specifically for you. The pours are generous and the bar is stocked with top-shelf liquor. About a drink and a half in, I realized I needed actual food immediately and had to leave. The staff was friendly, personable, and chatty, and because the space is so intimate, you naturally end up talking with the people around you. Definitely more of a solo or date-night spot than a group hang. Such a cool, unexpected experience.

As far as hipster spots go I actually really like this one…read more They've split the 2 sections now, now one side is the restaurant and the other half is the bar, you can still order food at the bar but they've split the sections into two distinct areas now that only staff can pass between the black curtain separating. It's a shame because I preferred drinking on the now-resto side. Service is decent, nothing spectacular, again I found service on the now-resto side previously better than the service we received at the bar side. Again it's a shame cuz the bartenders on the now-resto side were fkin awesome: tailored drinks and personal caring customer service. Whereas the bar side was just typical 'here's your drink you ordered' nothing more nothing less. What I do really like about this place is I tend to like almost every single cocktail I order here. They change the list regularly so that's fun too 'cuz always new options to choose from. It is pricey and unfortunately the alcohol content is maybe not as strong as one might like for that price point. However, it does allow to try many many drinks in one sitting without becoming a total drunken a-hole so not necessarily a bad thing. Here's a list of all the drinks I've tried here so far and I've adored almost every one of them and would definitely order again: - Frank sinatra - Trinidad sour - Paper plane - "Gina And Cucumber" shooters - Bloody Caesar: steak spice rim for this one is awesome - Nina Simmone - Pinky Swear: meh good hit the spot, but probably the most disappointing of all drinkerie drinks ive had - Redwine: Pepperwood Grove Cab Sauv 12$ good but not worth inflated price for a glass - Cidre Dublin's Pub: delicious!!! My favorite cidre ever so far. - Martini Lychee: hit the spot not their forte but I was craving one and it did the trick. It's not a place I choose first, but I like comin here every few months to enjoy a few cocktails in a chill vibe and hope they don't close anytime soon.

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. I would absolutely love to come back!!

Not only did they have both but they were some of the best I have had. The 20 - Somnia Extererri Mango smoothy sour was so rich sweet and sour that it reminded me of a tropical cocktail but I would rather this one. No notes. The 6 - Above the Nuage hazy IPA and the 10 - Commutatio hazy IPA were both super hazy and fruity that you couldnt see even through the sample. It was complex and bright. Just what I look for in hazies. The seating was amazing too. Plenty of varied seating from long couches that could hold big groups, to picnic benches, and even a few single seating on the side. Even with the heat, the trees blocked out most of the sun so it was always a good tempurature without needing unbrellas The line would go from a few people to out the door quickly but they went through them pretty fast. When there arent many people (and depending on the bartender) they give samples which was how we got to find some of these great ones, but when its long they tend to shy away from samples so wait for it to calm down if you want some. I hope I can come back to Montreal again some time to come back to this one. I will miss it and recomend it to anyone visiting.
