Their seating is very comfy. I wouldn't mind coming here with a book. Feels very warm. They also have big screen television on the wall but what Asian restaurant doesn't? They also have a very clean and spacious bathroom. LIKE! LIKE! LIKE! The drink was tasty too. Soft chewy bubbles. read more

I've had Verde in Fremont before and it was fine. This location just didn't work out for me. My friend and I ordered the rose milk green tea with small pearls (I love locations with this option!) and regular qq milk tea (boba included). The drinks didn't have much of a tea flavor, very artificial as my drink was pink. Very abnormal for a real rose milk tea. I think they forgot the sweetness so I had to go back and ask them to put sweetener (which they were very willing to do). To be honest, nothing special and I wouldn't come back because the drinks itself did not taste good. It was also very stuffy inside which had me to the point of sweating. Quite uncomfortable. There are many options in the area: Teaspoon, Tea Verde, etc. Good service, but I'll get my boba fix elsewhere. *They take Venmo! read more

The Mountain View location used to be a great place, but now their snack menu isn't what their menu shows here on Yelp. No Minced Pork with Rice, No Tea & Spices Tofu, no Tea eggs. I have no idea what they even have anymore. Plus they're on a list of Santa Clara County business that have committed wage theft against their employees. Best to avoid this place unless you just want boba. read more

Hands down the cheapest bubble tea in the Bay, most bang for your buck however the tea itself is powder based and not real tea and the flavors can sometimes taste artificial. They do have snacks, the boba itself is really nice and chewy and not at all hard. It does the job for when you want bubble tea really bad (me, always) but can't afford the trek to someplace more quality. In some ways, it reminds me of the more vintage bubble tea establishments of the days of yore. The Sweetheart Cafes (Berkeley), Quickly (Bay Area), etc. In comparison to most modern avatars, it is meh. read more

10/10 boba and cafe! Lots of different choices of teas and drinks to choose from. Inside is a dim lit, trendy environment. The staff was very friendly, bringing our tea to our table and being very considerate of the kind of drink I ordered... I drink a lot of Taro Milk teas it's one of my favorites. I decided to try their taro milk tea with boba. The cashier asked if I was okay with "taro pulp", which I've never tried before but decided to anyways. Without a doubt the best tea I've ever drank. The pulp gave it a very interesting texture and added to the nutty flavor and the boba was very soft, and fresh! read more

Ok spot. I come here whenever I want to get some boba with some friends and when I do not have cash. You can use your card if you order 10 bucks or more here. I usually order the frothy milk teas, having gotten the grass jelly milk tea and the jasmine green tea. I wouldn't say that the teas were out of this world but fairly good for what it is. I usually order the salty fried chicken with a drink to get me to the minimum. Chicken is usually pretty good. They do mix in other fried stuff with it (sweet potato and yams maybe). It is a good combo to have with your drink. The drinks are fairly inexpensive, but the happy hour (2-5 in the afternoon or something) can get you a drink and a fried snack for about 5 bucks (how can you not?). Solid spot, pretty cheap, would go again. read more

If you want your boba milk tea and don't wanna pay $5, this is the place to be. No, this is not the best boba that I've ever had but it is decent. Don't expect the super duper service or hip trance drink establishment music in here because it doesn't offer that. Just a down to earth local drink joint earning one drink at a time. They don't smile much but the drink is nicely made. If you like the mini boba like myself this is one of the few places that offer them without an extra charge. read more

I'm not proud of my milk tea addiction but it helps qualify this review. Grew up in the Bay Area and have been drinking "boba" since it was called pearl milk tea since it was $0.49 at quickly's in Cupertino Verde is one of the solid, local boba shops. Been through different management but the latest is one of the best, an experienced Taiwanese couple who make great drinks and snacks I recommend earl grey and normal milk teas. The popcorn chicken is great too and one of the last boba shops in Mountain View that serve food too. Super convenient to park in the structure right behind the store With the pandemic coming under control, I am looking forward to it opening its dine in option read more

Service is great, seems to be family run and all drinks are made in good time. It's definitely a solid choice if you're looking for boba, but even better if you want some sort of fruity smoothie (lychee and melon are my personal favorites). read more

Our Mango slush smoothie had an entire plastic tuperware container inside! The plastic container came tumbling out when I tried to pour the drink into separate cups for my kids. When I confronted the owner and showed him pictures, he claimed that I was lying! Why in the world would I lie about this!? I was just so shocked and disgusted by his response that I felt compelled to let others know. It just goes to show that they are not going to be accountable for any mistakes made, and instead will accuse their own customers. Please, do yourselves a favor and support the (many other) business that really care about high quality, own up to their mistakes, and care enough to listen to their patrons. read more

Been here a couple times now. Out of most of the options in the area near Castro St, this one has decent seating and offers a pretty traditional boba teahouse menu. This most recent time, I got the passion fruit green tea with lychee jelly. You can customize the sugar and ice levels. My drink was great, fine, typical of what you expect to get. They also make hot drinks and slushies. And my friend got the coconut cream thick toast. So I got to try it. It was nicely toasted and only semi sweet. I think my friend was looking for a more sweet actually to get a satisfying dessert taste but she didn't get it from this. Maybe try and get another flavor of thick toast if that's also what you're looking for. Also a few people came in and got the popcorn chicken. We weren't even hungry but it smelled delicious. read more

Cute cozy café! Been drinking green milk tea here for the past 20 years. Taste, price, customer service are all terrific. Lately, I've had to switch to decaf milk teas and very few boba cafes even have decaf teas. But again, Verde Café offers the best decaf teas too. My usual order: decaf green milk tea with 0% sugar, no ice, and rainbow jelly. You should definitely give Verde Café a try! read more

We got tea here once and we're probably not coming back, to be honest. The service was fine and they got us our drinks pretty quickly, but the teas themselves were not good. I got the strawberry milk tea, 50% sugar and 50% ice, with popping strawberry boba. My friend got a hazelnut milk tea with the same amount of sugar and ice. The strawberry milk tea was...gross. You can taste the artificial syrup they use and it was _sickly_ sweet. The popping strawberry boba also did not add anything to the experience. It was too sweet as well and it left a slimy taste in my mouth. The hazelnut milk tea was also way too sweet. It was too sweet to the point that he didn't even finish his drink, it was that bad. You also couldn't really taste the hazelnut in the drink. Honestly, there are so many bubble tea places in Mountain View that you can skip this place for one of the others. read more

Stopped in for some bubble tea, and was pleasantly surprised by the efficient service, reasonable prices, and delicious bubble tea. I ordered a red bean milk tea ($3.20), which came out quickly and tasted like authentic red beans. They even had some real red beans at the bottom mixed with the boba. Next time I will also try some of the food items that were advertised, like the Taiwanese toast and the fried chicken. Overall, good selection of different bubble tea drink flavors (although I wish they allowed for more customization like sugar level and ice level). read more

It's been so long since I've been here. Back years ago, I used to go here like a lot, to meet with friends, to hang out, etc. But I never reviewed it back then. So this review is from a recent visit. I had the five star rewards and it still had points in the system, so a friend and I decided to come here to catch up. Sunday evening, as expected was not very busy at all. I ordered a mango fresh juice with aloe, one of their new items. It tasted like they watered down the mango juice by a lot and the aloe was in small cubes. I was expecting more mango juice. I used to like the taro milk tea and it was pretty good here. Not sure about now, since it's been awhile. Overall, a decent place for students to work and get drinks and snacks. The noise level could be loud, so if you want to have a private conversation, probably not here since the tables are super close together. We decided to take it to go and walk around Mountain View since it was a nice evening. read more

I've always been a huge fan of Verde. I think their pearl teas are delicious, their menu has always been extensive with lots of options, and their food is alright too! My favorite combo is their Almond Milk Tea with pearls and their fried chicken with spicy red powder. Their teas range from $3.5-$4 and their snack bites around $5. It's cheap and tasty. I do like this location even though it's a bit smaller than the old Cupertino location. Seating is tighter and not as much BUT it's more "lay-low" and quiet-ish. This location is great! read more

The tea is always consistent and refreshing. The service is quick. I look forward to coming here when I'm in the area.

Went to this place with my coworkers and did not enjoy the tea. I ordered the earl grey milk tea with egg pudding and it was too sweet. I could tell they used the powered stuff which isn't the best quality. They don't allow purchases with credit card under $10. Also, the place was run down and hot! There wasn't much ventilation in there. Not sure if I would come back. read more

I come here often with friends, often on weekend evenings. I love this place. The boba is very fairly priced for the amount; compared to the rest of the area, it is probably considered cheap, which is really nice. There's also a lot of flavors that aren't available at other places; I always get red bean milk tea, with red bean and boba for toppings, which I can't usually find at other places. The toast and cheesecake are really good. I usually get coconut toast -- it's simple but so satisfying. Popcorn chicken is also super tasty, and the serving size is more than fair. I love that there are cards and board games. My friends and I often like to try the different games that are there. There isn't a huge selection, but there's enough to keep us entertained and coming back. Generally occupied by groups of high schoolers or college students, or people working. A quiet and chill environment, and the staff is great. We usually don't get kicked out until an hour after posted closing, which is really nice. Overall, just a great place to chill and hang out and get some really reasonably priced food and drinks. read more

This is what I get for choosing a place out of convenience instead of quality. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. At first glance, Verde Tea Cafe looked like a decent place. The menu was massive with lots of milk teas, smoothies, and snacks to choose from. While the place seemed pretty tight in space, there was still a lot of tables inside for us to sit and hang out for a while. Not wanting to waste my boba-for-the-day at a place I didn't thoroughly read up on, I decided to order a mint chip freeze that came with coffee jelly while my hubby chose the salty fried squid as a snack. The wait for our food and drinks wasn't long, and just from the appearance, everything looked good. The smoothie was served in a long, tall cup with little pieces of coffee jelly sprinkled on top and sitting at the bottom of a chocolate-colored freeze. The bag of squid calamari was filled to the top with food, and we were surprised to find sweet potato fries inside too. But boy, can looks deceive... Let's start with the drink: the mint-flavor coated our tongue like a thick syrup while the coffee drink itself was so weak it could mimic water. The coffee jelly was the only thing that was redeeming and even that wasn't worth finishing. But the worst culprit had to be the fried squid. As if they have never heard of salt, the snack was ENTIRELY FLAVORLESS. The breading was sparse and barely fried while the sweet potato fries weren't even fries, but just thick bricks of the worst tempura we have ever had. What a waste of $9! Lesson learned: take time to read the reviews because their low score exists for a reason. read more

Great place to hang out with friends at late hours. I'm such a fan because Verde is open past midnight. Night owl favorite! It has a very cozy atmosphere and is conveniently located right off Castro Street. Large cups of milk tea are the standard here. My favorites are: - peach milk green tea (cold) - almond milk green tea (hot or cold) - mango milk green tea (hot) - honey green tea (hot) There is also a menu for Taiwanese-style food. I like the combo that has the pork cutlet, ground pork, and a hardboiled egg over rice. The perfect size for late night munchies. TIP: You can get milk tea with or without pearls (tapioca). Personally I prefer my milk tea without pearls, for both taste and health reasons. Apparently tapioca is poor in nutrition and high in calories. :( The good news is milk tea is delicious anyway! read more

A-ok - that accounts for the milk tea. I tried the Mint Milk Tea as suggested by fellow Yelpers but I found the taste not as refreshing as in other (milk) tea houses I tried before. Also, the boba tasted kinda dry and hard. On top of it, they didn't manage to put the foil onto the cup properly so half the milk tea spilled when I tried to drink it. I'll be back for more as it's the closest Tea Cafe in the neighborhood but I'll probably focus on the food items. read more

Service is lightning quick, but cashiers are brusque. Snacks and milk tea are fine. Averaging out to a 'meh' rating. Jelly's a "thing" now, hm? Well, who'd-a-thunk. Something Mama would break open from a can for dessert-- something I quite liked but had no clue what it really was-- now, more people know via the bubble tea take-over. Hello, Grass Jelly, my childhood friend. Roasted Barley flavour isn't on the menu. Dare I try Grass Jelly? G.J. boba with grass jelly and tapioca pearls.. order and wait. I prefer jasmine milk tea rather than standard black milk tea. Ready. Up the straw, down the hatch. How to describe Grass Jelly? Has a flavour, but then it doesn't. Jell-O but not high fructose-y. Verdant? Nein. Grass-y? Nah, well.. maybe. Not savoury either. Overall kind of refreshing and as minimally sweet as (a sugary boba) can be. Like the various Far East Asian ethnicities, not all boba are same. Some are smaller, some bigger, some chewier, some plumper, some are delicate etc. :P Verde's 'bubbles' seem softer, squishier than other tea shops, and the "QQ" mini-tapiocas are kute-kute. Melt-y texture of their grass jelly is sort of unique too. Despite being narrow and cramped, Verde Tea Cafe's seating, interior design and lighting are not unpleasant. You might even be inclined to stay and hang out... if not for the customer-loathing staff. read more

After my burger meal, I continue to sashay my rotund-behind around Mountain View's Castro Street for a treat before I head home. And lo and behold, I have found this beverage shop which is located a block away from the hustling strip. I was here and I ordered the Oreo Smoothie for $4.25 + tax. As I was waiting for my drink, I was listening to the loud blender mixing my frozen drink. I was also reading the menu posted on the wall. In addition to many blended drinks served here, the café also serve rice plates and appetizers. I might give them a try later. When I got my drink and after my first sip, the blended drink has a noticeable taste of the cookie. The drink was blended to perfection and not too icy. I guess I read the tea menu wrong and thought that everything below the green tea and black tea bobas were sweetened, but apparently everything on the menu is sweetened. Not a fan of syrup sweeteners. I like to drink my tea bobas plain so that I can taste the tea leaves and determine for myself the qualify used. Came by for an evening beverage the other evening with a friend of mine. I have known about this place for years, but definitely must admit that their location is less than stellar. I arrive around 8:30 pm to the Cafe w/ the front signage turned off... As soon as I walked in, I noticed the lack of A/C. Jose and Juan were both running around making drinks, and taking orders. Jesus was in the back kitchen... Jose who took my order was wearing one latex glove...which I thought was very odd... Ordered a couple drinks and watched while Juan was running around making drinks. - 1 Scoop Milk Powder - 3 Scoops of Liquid Sugar - 1 Scoop of Ice - Black/Green Tea from Cooler - Blend in a blender-like machine for ~15 seconds. I ordered the 101, Pearl Milk Tea, and it was definitely the "Large" size compared with Fantasia/Q-Cup/Tapioca Express.
