I miss the Cupertino location. This location is a little too far for me but I love love love the milk tea here. It's frothy, not too sweet and it's just delicious. But parking is bad and it's a little too far for me. I haven't been here in a long time but I love this place. If I'm in the area I'll get the tea. read more

Great job stepping it back up in the flavor department Verde! The last few time I've been there the drinks have been made well and the boba pearls have been thoroughly cooked. My mother is obsessed with the sesame milk tea and drags me here quite frequently. Though the girl handing us drinks literally grabbed my drink out of my hand as I picked it up, yelling "THAT'S NOT YOURS!" Actually, it was. Back it up. read more

The only reason why we went here was because Tea Era was closed. Seriously, who closes on a TUESDAY. I went here with some friends after eating at La Bamba. The place is simply too crowded, it's a serious fire hazard. I always snicker at fobby English, and I was tempted to order the "forthy milk tea" on the menu. I got my standard green milk tea with pearls. It was tasty, a tiny bit too sweet, but over all OK. It was really hard to talk in here with the crowded single path from door to bathrooms. Also, despite the 8' wall between the kitchen and seating, the din of the blenders was deafening at times. The atmosphere felt like a bar, but without the darkness, cool music, and scintilla of a chance of beer goggles. read more

Verde Tea Cafe - Cafes Near Me - Mountain View, California

One of my favorite places to go to for dessert AND for late night eats! Not sure if this is the same Verde that closed down in Millbrae a couple years ago but their milk tea's taste similar. Service is seriously super quick here - as soon as you're done paying for your order...don't be surprised if your drinks are already ready! My recommendations (which are pretty much everything I've tried): - Green Milk Tea (best boba drink ever; tapioca is perfect; taste great either hot or cold) - Peanut Butter Toast (sooo yuuummm!; someone please tell me...where can I get Taiwanese Peanut Butter!?) - Cheesecake (truly addicting and hella cheap) - Chicken Katsu dish (goes well w/ everything it comes with! - especially the tea eggs) They have ALOT to choose from on the menu. So far so yummy with my experiences! Oh and Free WiFi - great place to just hang out or even study. It can get pretty crowded though, especially since its a late night eats spot! read more

This verde location is relatively large, but actually doesn't feel spacious because the seating is so tight. The cashier was confused for the longest time when I said I wanted to order a "hot black plum tea". when I was reading the menu, word-for-word, which said "hot black plum tea". In the end, he called over the supervisor who said that wasn't available. They take card but it's a $5 minimum. They also have decent popcorn chicken here, and you can tell by just looking at the attached picture. There's a really balanced batter to chicken ratio so it doesn't feel like you're getting all batter and no chicken, like many other PMT places. You add your own spicy pepper to it as well, which I like because you can fine tune your desired spiciness level. If they weren't trying to cram and entire band into such a small space, are better able to communicate with customers, and have diluted tea, I'd give this place higher ratings. Verde chains are starting to fall, along with Quicklys, Q-cup, etc. read more

Good pearl tea with decent surroundings...One of the few things I really miss about living in the South Bay. I've definitely got some secret boba spots in the city but all of them seem to come standard with less-than-acceptable decor (ie sticky linoleum floors, dim fluorescent lighting)...That's why I really miss places like Verde. I seem to have consumed a whole lotta their hot Almond Pearl Tea...but you can't go wrong with their hot sesame or peanut flavors either. And their thick slabs of dessert toast are quite satisfying as well. Next time the city weather gets real dreary...just jet down to Mtn Vw for some sun & good boba...does a body good. read more

As a pearl tea (boba) connoisseur, I am going to crown Verde the title of best pearl tea in the Bay Area. After having tried pearl tea places in SF, Berkeley, Oakland, San Mateo, Fremont, Milpitas, Union City, San Jose, etc... I have yet to come across a place with better overall pearl tea scores than this place. This review is solely focused on their pearl tea drink (specifically the pearl milk green tea), rather than the decor, food, etc. The drink that I choose for judging is always the pearl milk green (or jasmine) tea. Why the milk green tea? The reason is because it's much harder to make a good tea drink than a super-sweet artificially flavored drink. If a place can make a good green tea, then they can easily make the other drinks as well. Scores (1 for worst - 5 for best) Tea (4) - The tea score is not bad, it's sweet while still allowing the tea flavor to come through. Not as artificial tasting as some of the other tea places like Tapioca Express. Not a perfect score here since there are other tea houses that specialize in the tea (for example TenRen or TeaStation). Pearl Consistency (5) - The pearls are just about perfect. Not too soft too be mushy, not undercooked so that the center is hard Pearl Taste (5) - The pearls themselves are nice and sweet. This is something that only the best pearl tea places get right. Value (5) - The drinks are excellently priced around $3 considering their standard size drink would be a large sized drink at most other pearl tea places. Ice (5) - I hate a drink that has too much ice. Not only do you get less tea, but it makes it harder to get to those last few pearls once you've finished the drink. It also dilutes the tea when it melts. Fortunately, Verde gets it perfect here - they put just about the right amount of ice in the drink. Consistently Well Made? (5) - Every time I've come here the drinks have been well made. I added this category because there were certain tea places which would be good sometimes and bad sometimes depending on who was making the drink. This place does not have that kind of problem. Total Score: 29 out of 30 read more

This place is nice! Compared to the other two pearl tea spots in DT Mountain View (Tea Era - small, no place to really sweet but good pearl tea) to Tapioca Express (sketch chain place) I wish they had better signage because the burgundy kind of blends in the skin care place next door so I've totally missed it before! My coworker took me there and treated me a lychee smoothie with pearl and the regular is HUGE. Wish they had a smaller size because its just so much but I suppose more worth your money. There's plenty of space to sit inside and they have free wiifi. Also the food on the menu seemed interesting too from simple sweets to meals. I can't wait to go back to try other flavors of pearl tea and maybe a snack! read more

I have seen the lines go out the door many times going past the store and have been meaning to try it. Finally did this weekend and left with mixed feelings. It is cramped but it was entertaining to listen to this young couple perhaps on their first date and talking about their experience picking up people at clubs. I swear I was not eavesdropping but they were like a foot away and loud. The drinks were good and the popcorn chicken (different name here) was very good. The cheese cake for $1.95 was tempting but decided to pass. This would have been a 4 star rating if not for the service. The woman taking the order was a total grinch and looked like she hated her job. I had to ask the same question a couple of times and she seemed annoyed that I had some questions. I am so sorry I interrupted you with some questions since it was my first time here and I had some questions regarding the menu. That was a sarcastic apology. If you are pregnant (I was not sure), I am truly sorry and hats off to you for continuing to work. read more

My cousin absolutely raves about this place like 24/7 so I wanted to try it out for myself. When it comes to milk tea, I always get my favorite honeydew ice smoothie with pearls. The guy taking my order had no idea what "honeydew flavor" I was talking about so my cousin said to order the "melon" which is the same thing apparently. I was surprised the cashier couldn't offer me it himself. Is he new? Anyways, he didn't offer any sizes so when I picked up my drink it looked like a large. Unfortunately, I really wasn't impressed with their drink making skills. I've had my fair share of "melon" iced smoothies and this was not up to par. Plus, the ladies making the drinks were bothered when we asked for a different sized straw. You won't see smiles behind the counter, that's for sure. I'll try it again with my cousin because maybe I dropped by on an off day. Who knows, I might even try a different flavor. read more

Verde sucks. I rarely say a place "sucks" but man, that's the only fitting word I can think of for Verde. I had the Green Milk Tea, and everything about it just tasted odd. The tea was extremely light so the drink just tasted sweet, even with quarter sugar. The milk/creamer they use also had a funky taste. Maybe it is a combo of creamer and condensed milk? Whatever it is, it ain't the right type! Kitchen closes 30 minutes before closing time, so after I got my drink, decided I want to try some fried goodies before they shut down the back and got back in line. Person in front of me ordered some popcorn chicken, so I decide to get that as well, but for some reason, the girl said she can't take any food orders, even though it is not the end of kitchen service yet? The place is bigger than Tea Era down the street, but the setup's a bit odd. Can get cramped at the entrance, but it may be empty inside. read more

BLECKK! ICK. How I've been spoiled by super cue, snowflake teahouse, and amor! Honestly the one star here is for the Earl gray milk tea, but even then, that drink is pretty hard to mess up. But omg. Let me get to what really made me ding stars off: 1. The boba. Oh my sweet lort. It was the worst boba I've ever had in my life. The boba was hard and had absolutely no flavor to it! I felt the indigestion starting after two sips of my drink. Just fail. 2. The calamari and chicken. Disaster. The worst part isn't even the oily disgusting flavor. Its that they put shitty ass fries to fill up space in the bag! And the fries were just as nasty! This place is fail. A party foul. A disgrace. Just. No. read more

You have such a wide array of boba choices when you go to downtown MV. There's TapEx right across the intersection and Tea Era farther down...you can even have gelato or froyo--or you can get Verde. It seems to be a common curse at Verde that seating indoors is limited and in super close quarters. I've never EVER sat inside a Verde Tea place before, and am so happy every time I see how crowded and small it is. I've been to the Cupe Verde many times, and this MV one is not anything special. I came on a late Wednesday night and it was very much so alive around 10PM. There were students and young professionals chillin and hanging out here with their boba and snacks. I had their pearl milk tea or what they call "QQ frothy milk tea" with no sugar. BUT at the end of the night, they ONLY had mini pearls left--disappointing. I wish I could have had their regular boba size, but that's what happens when you go when ingredients run out at the end of the day. SERVICE was on point. Shoutout to the Mexican homie at the cashier who was efficient, quick, and VERY attentive. He even checked with me to make sure my drink was yummy after purchasing it. Might be back if my friends wanted to go, but I'd stick with TapEx or Tea Era (just my humble opinion). read more

I came just to get some Taro Frothy Milk Tea. I laughed when I first read "frothy" because it made me think of nephrotic syndrome. Anyway, this place was alright. It's smaller than I thought. They play really loud music. The cashier was speaking Spanish to me (not a bad thing but just interesting experience). The flavor of the drink I got tasted alright--maybe the taro flavor isn't their speciality. It wasn't that busy so service was quick. They have a nice bathroom in the back. I want to give this place another chance just because the menu looks so good. read more

I've been to many milk tea place... some pretty bad like Quickly (even though I'm still a fan!) This place is... argh... the milk tea came with more waterly milk than tea, it taste like diluted milk and diluted tea. No flavor what so ever. I had the pop corn chicken and it was ok, not a lot for the money you paid elsewhere. Listen, want some good quality milk tea? Go to Tea Era across the street on Castro. read more

*update* GEEZ!!! They are REALLY declining in quality. First I hated their renovation and now they are using flimsy stupid cups for their iced milk tea that don't hold the cap well and milk tea ends up dripping on me as I constantly try to put the lid back on. If I pay $3 for some milk tea I think I deserve a decent quality cup! Same here, I HATE the remodeling job and if it weren't for it, I would have given them 5 stars. I like their almond and melon milk tea with pearls. Fried tofu is pretty good. Their salty fried chicken used to be better. Now they are lazy and it's huge chunks of chicken vs before when it was smaller and more flavorful pieces. read more

Verde is my go to place whenever I feel like having pearl milk tea. The drink size is larger than other pmt places I've gone to, or at least for the cold drinks. I have been coming here for years and used to get the green milk tea, but lately I've been getting the pudding milk tea with the small pearls. Another great drink to get here is the grapefruit green tea with aloe. The large chunks of aloe combined with the tea is refreshing, especially when you feel like having a lighter drink. You can also get it with mango green tea. They also have some tasty food choices if you're feeling hungry for a snack. I like the spicy fried chicken which comes with some sweet potato fries. It's a nice and casual hangout spot if you want to grab drinks with friends, and it's great that they're open late. Be aware that it can get crowded and noisy at times. read more

This location seems to have fallen off compared to my previous visits, and with their other location in Cupertino. My shaved ice, was not made as good as Cupertino's. Here the ice is practically rock hard, while the one in Cupertino is made much better and shaved so it's much more soft and easier to eat. Also- -Their Oohlong (sp?) tea that my GF ordered was disgusting and made me want to throw up. It tasted sour like the milk they used was expired. -Fries served with the popcorn chicken were soggy, and tasted like it was microwaved? -Some of the workers here are idiots. I asked for the sweet sauce to go with the popcorn chicken, but instead they pointed to the Sriracha sauce , WTF?! I'll try to avoid this location next time. read more

NOTE: $10 MIN ON CREDIT This rating is for the milk tea only. First off, the new place is very nice. Got the Regular sized Rose Milk Green Tea plus qq boba pearls. The tea was good and the little boba was interesting (not my preference though). The total cost was about $4.25. The reason I gave it 3-stars is because Tea Era (which is around the quarter on Castro St.) is soooo much better. I give Tea Era 4-star because it's good, but not better than other places I've been to (like Pekoe). Therefore, I can't rate Verde higher than Tea Era. read more

I love their milk tea, it's better than quickly's or tapioca express. Milk tea with tapioca comes out to $3.01 after tax, so be sure to bring a penny if you're just buying that because you wouldn't want to get 99 cents in change right? I tried their green tea, like plain green tea, the tea was too strong, and bitter, I didn't like it, but I liked their Lemon iced tea, it tastes like the vita lemon teas. I also tried liked their kiwi kiss! There's a slice of kiwi inside the drink so after I was done with the drink, me and the bf decided to eat the slice of it, but it took forever to take out, &trying to use the straw to stab it did not help! So we decided to tilt to cup towards the others mouth so it wouldn't drop out, but get out enough for us to eat it and once we got it out, the kiwi inside it was real sour. It was funny how hard we tried to get it out though! haha. As for snacks, I usually get the popcorn chicken, I personally prefer snacks from tapioca express which is down the block better, but verde is for the milk tea tapioca! read more

Ahh just as good as the other location. This place is small so don't expect to get a seat during it's busy hours. I like that this place has a huge menu board so I can look at something to decide what I want to order. I got the hazelnut milk tea here and it was amazing. The hazelnut flavor was strong, but not overpowering. Definitely love this place. I wouldn't mind coming here everyday to get my milk tea needs. read more

Verde is one of those places that has its own unique flavor. The drink is somewhat milky, frothy, and regrettable as someone with lactose intolerance. I'm not sure I would consider it a good milk tea place, but it has its own appeal. I always go for a regular milk tea or the earl grey, which are relatively conservative options if you want to stay safe. You can get your drink with boba, various jellies, or QQ ramen, which to this day I have no idea what it is and I'm not really sure I want to. Wouldn't say it's worth the drive to Mountain View if you have no reason to be there, and I wouldn't say it has the best atmosphere ever. My biggest complaint is that it has a $10 credit card minimum. That's never okay. TIP: Go somewhere with no credit card minimum. read more

Nice little shop. Prices are decent and guess what? They have decaf teas! I'm really sensitive to caffeine so this is the perfect spot for me to have teas or milk teas. I was told that this was one of the very first Verde's in the bay area, and had visited here years ago when I still worked in Mtn View. Not that the service was great back then, but Earl Grey Milk tea is my catnip. Met up with a friend earlier today for a quick bite, and we were utterly disappointed with the quality of their food AND service. First of all I asked for no ice, TWICE. And I was being nice. LOL (see pics) Then, my friend's popcorn chicken order came half way filled (what ever happened to their portion?) AND was filled with french fries. (Huh?!) My friend stated that she was here just a month ago, but the girl insisted that ALL OF THEIR popcorn chicken orders are filled with french fries. (see pics) If we want french fries, we would be at McD's. Oh and this place had no AC, it was actually a bit chilly today and this place was stuffy like a cray cray sauna. They have a big selection, hot , warm, icy, slushy, etc. I like how they have flavors alot of other places don't have. One thing that I couldnt find anywhere else: Mocha Mint Crystal . It's a cold mocha with mint jellies. MINT JELLIES! My gf had sour apple w/ pearls, and we both agree that the pearls here are one of the best. It's very soft and gummy at the same time, not too chewy. Some places have it too chewy meaning cooked too long or left out too long. I had the strawberry taiwan toast, I haven't had taiwan toast before, but it's thick and very very light. 2-5 has Tea time special: +1.20 for toast and something 6-? Special combo : combo plus tea drink $6.40 They have free wifi internet, and I know it works cause two guys were on their laptops. I think the prices are just right, wide selection of drinks, snacks, and food. Only thing is cleanliness. The decorations need to re-vamped, new board games, and needs to be spick and span. I will go back and recommend it. Update 10/14/07 The place has been revamped, I like it! The menu looks like its changed some as well. The boba is still soft, sweet, and gummy, best ever! Keep up the great work!!! read more

BOBA!!!!!! (4 stars) Tired of Quickly and decided to venture out. Not much to say about bubble tea shops. Verde the best bubble tea places in the bay area. They serve food but I didn't get any. There's a variety of selections on the menu but I stuck with my usual "Taro Tea". The wait can be lengthy just to get bubble tea but the good thing about it is when the bubble tea is ready a person will come outside with a tray of them and call out numbers from your order. It beats dodging in and out of a small space inside. Will I be back? Yes. Until the next review.... read more

A very run of the mill boba place, this establishment will always have a soft spot in my heart since it's been around for as long as I can remember. Came here on a whim because a couple friends and I were bored, and ordered a Red Bean Freeze, which is what I always used to get at the Cupertino location before it closed. Disappointed by the icy consistency, as I was expecting a more smoothly blended mixture. Also, the people behind the counter weren't very friendly. Not that I expected a whole lot from a place like this, but a little bit of cheerfulness would have been nice. One thing that I do like better than the old Cupertino spot is that you don't have to pay extra to sit inside. But this isn't anything extraordinary, as any food joint that charges to sit is ridiculous to begin with. But still, it's nice to know that it's not the case here :) read more

Friends green tea also made her feel ill so she tossed it. Usually we spend hours here but we ended up staying for less than a hour. I always miss late nights at Verde when I'm at school. During the summer, my friends and I always stay here until closing (11:30 or 12:30 depending on the day; I like that Verde always stays open pretty late). Personally, I prefer Tea Era's milk tea, which is just down the street on Castro, but Verde has more spaces to sit down, is open later, and serves food, which is why we end up here quite often. Service is pretty fast, even when they're really busy (which is basically every single night). Verde is so popular; I almost always see people I know whenever I'm here. Fav drinks include Pudding milk tea, honey milk tea, almond milk tea, and passionfruit iced tea. Can I just say that this place has the best pudding out of the many places I've tried? I think they use powders to flavor their drinks, but they don't taste bad or anything. Plus, the pudding makes up for it. Also the size of the drinks for the price :) As for food, I LOVE the coconut Taiwanese thick toast. YUM. And Cheap too. If you go during 3-5 pm on a weekday (I think) there is 'tea time happy hour' and you can get a drink and a toast for cheap! Also, the salty fried chicken is really good, but big enough to share with friends. I like the minced pork rice bowls as well-- huge portion, yet so inexpensive :D :D This place is crowded and small, but my friends and I are usually able to get a table. It's kind of noisy too, so I don't see how some people can study or read here, LOL. Maybe I just suck at concentrating; I don't know .. :P Anyway, I like this Verde over the larger one in Cupertino, because it doesn't have that wait-outside-for-your-drink-because-we-only-let-you-inside-if-each-person-has-spent-minimum-$5 thing going on... read more

The milk tea here is just decent. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but will stop by for convenience. I must say though, they have these smaller sized boba with amazing taste and texture!! It's definitely one of the best boba tapioca pearls I've had! If only their milk tea can be up to par with the boba. Service is a bit slow here. There was only one person before me, but it still took a long time to get my drinks ready. Employees aren't friendly, no smiles, no greeting. Seating is cramped and the place isn't cleaned up too well. You need to spend at least $10 to use card. Pretty much a hassle because I will usually just need one drink for myself. read more

This is a little hole-in-the-wall of a "tea house." I came in on a Friday night and nearly half their menu was unavailable because they had run out of flavors. This might give you an idea of how packed the place was, but as a customer this isn't necessarily a good thing. The place is really narrow, basically one long space. The kitchen is on one wall and tables and chairs are along the other, both separated by a counter. There's flat screens playing movies or music videos. The tables are poorly kept, in the sense that they're not cleaned in between guests. It's not really a place to hang out, really loud and hard to move around. Plus, they ban people from playing card games here. Not that I'd do that in a place like this, but some people like to do that at tea houses. Don't know why they'd ban it here. The flavor of the drinks are only okay. read more

This place is very hidden. I've been to Downtown Mountain View countless times, but never noticed that they had a Verde Tea Cafe here. Today my favorite pearl tea place was closed (Tea Era), so I was going to get Tapioca Express instead, but I saw some kids passing by shaking their Verde cup. I was like WHAT THE HELL, there's a Verde nearby? I kept walking, but didn't see it and right when I saw Tapioca Express I looked to my left and saw Verde. I was like what the hell might as well get Verde. I came in and the place was REALLY NICE! Wow,the decorations and tables were so modern day and high class. There was a few people ahead of me so I got time to look over there menu. I decided to get a Thai Tea and the total came out to almsot $5. I was like uh,okay. Then after I got my drink, I realized why, because they only had one size and the cup was HUGE. Okay,do you know why its huge? Because most of it is like light foam , all the foam from the top really helps fill the big cup. That's my only concern, there's way to much foam in that huge cup. When I swallow my drink I can barley savor the flavor because it just goes down my throat LIGHT and instantly. When Tea Era is closed on Tuesday i'll make a note to go to Tapioca next time. Not a huge fan,but it's just okay. I was excited to get some Verde too, because the cafe in Milpitas is pretty damn great! read more
