They dont communicate well when it comes to extra costs. The technician doing my pedicure stopped mid clean to do another clients hands, without warning. My partner that came with me was promised a design & got the great value version. Do not recommend going if you want something other than full coverage nails. Best mani/pedi I have ever had and that's saying something!! Spent 20 yrs as a professional model and hand model, must be absolutely perfect for close up photos. I found Venus Nails while I was living in Spokane, and now that I've moved- I still go back whenever I get the chance- I've done dip powder nails here but my favorite is getting a full set of acrylic nails done by Henny! Pedicure was great. Color options are a little low, but enough to choose from. My gel manicure that cracked within 24 hours. I went back to get it fixed and was told to come back an hour and a half later - no problem at all. I came back and the technician just filed down the top layer of gel and painted over with a different color than what I originally had on my nails (not what I asked for). You could still see the cracks under the new layers of polish. Then I was reprimanded for not calling ahead, though I had stopped in and came back at a later time. COVID time review: I have visited almost all of the nail salons in Spokane proper, and this one yields the consistent results. During COVID times they have customers call to make appointments, however at my last visit they were accepting walks-in. The staff are friendly, and the salon is fairly clean. They have large partitions to separate clients from each other and from the manicurists. All staff wear masks and all clients are expected to wear masks. I usually do a gel mani and spa pedi in matching colors. They are usually performed separately by the same manicurist rather than by two simultaneously so make sure you have 45-60 min to spare for the full mani-pedi. They do not use liners in the pedicure basins, so if this is a must for you, you've been warned. The manicurists are very careful--my cuticles are done well, I have been very happy with the shape of my nails (round, very short), and the polish ends up flawless on both my fingernails and toenails. No chips in 2 (and sometimes left on for 3! ;)) weeks! And pedicures come with a scrub and a quick hot stone rub! Will see them soon. read more

I came into the appointment with multicolored powder acrylics (one different color on each nail). I asked for a fill and got two different colors. It felt like the manicurist did not give me a professional fill -- she did not pay attention to detail and left gel on my fingertips and under my nail. She did not completely file my natural nail down underneath the acrylic, even after I asked twice. It did not feel like much effort was put in and she told me it looked like that because I had different colored nails and that I should get natural looking colors if I want them to look better. I have gotten acrylics and fills multiple times before and this job just feels lazy. My nails look crusty underneath... She also dusted off my nails by slapping the dust off my hands and not a brush. read more

Venus Nails is my go to nail salon in Spokane. I tried a few places and this is the best I have been to. My usual technician is Tom. Ever since I started coming here I have had the opportunity to experiment with all sorts of fun designs. I never get acrylics because I am never happy with the outcome. Tom introduced me to the dip manicures, and now I can get tips with all the fun designs and shapes without the thickness and permanence of acrylics. I have played with almond, coffin, and modified squoval in multiple lengths and it had made me so happy. I also get a pedicure every now and then. The quality of work is always nice, but the chairs are a bit older and not quite as comfy as I'd like. I highly recommend this nail salon! read more

Decided to try a new nail place in town and am very happy with the results. Excellent customer service. Enjoyed the leg massage. Most importantly Hani took care of the toenails in cutting out the edges. I've found that most nail technicians don't take the extra time to do that and it's something my toes need as I'm a hiker and need that extra room in my hiking boots. My nails love to spread sideways and I'm not a fan of that. She also did great on the ingrown nail on my big toe. Some of the worst nails I've gotten. I got an acrylic set done since I've grown an allergy to gel. To start, the tables where you set your hands on were filthy and left a powdery residue on my hands. The nail techs are reusing sanding bands and, my nail tech specifically, used implements that appeared to not be cleaned between clients. My set came out very thick and poorly done. It took me about an hour of filing at home to fix them and make them presentable. If you know anything about nails and cleanliness you'll avoid this place. I really hoped this place wouldn't disappoint but I was wrong. Luckily, I haven't had any reaction to the dirty tools that were used but it's a risk I will not be willing to take again and would advise others not to! Prices weren't too bad tho... read more

I had my first fill at this salon, and I was so glad I chose to come here. I searched for a new place to go that was close to my home, and I was also hoping to find someone who would see me on time for my appointments. I decided to come to Venus based on the reviews here, and it was worth it. My nails were filled with care, she took her time, I was seen at my appointment time and she never made me feel rushed. I got gel nails and Tom didn't make my nails square like I wanted. More so rounded, which I don't like and since I wanted regular polish on my toes they had to find a color close to my manicure. Did a great job. My pedicure lasted a LONG time. They are always consistent and friendly.

I went in to this nail place with decent expectations, yet they were not met. I went in for a fresh set of acrylics. The color is nice but the shape is chunky and thick. There was a lack of attention to detail and i was left to file rough edges down myself. there was no cuticle care done prior and when i did the care myself after the acrylics were on it looked like i already needed a fill. At the end he pressed on the nails to test the strength and just kinda went "oh" as if he knew something was wrong but couldn't be bothered to fix it. I went later in the day and it seems that they were just trying to get it done as quickly as possible to go home. Overall he was fairly aggressive in the filing and there were moments where i almost said ow. Him and the other nail tech were nonstop talking which i wouldn't have minded if the job was done well, but sadly it wasn't. I am also used to being "pampered" when getting nails done, such as towels, lotion, and at least a comfortable place to rest your arms but you won't find that here. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and i won't be going back. I literally only made a yelp account for this. read more

The service here is always great! I appreciate that they don't have an overwhelming selection of colors, yet it's the perfect amount. Sometimes I get stressed if a place has hundreds and hundreds of colors because it makes it hard to make a decision. The staff is always incredibly nice and friendly. Though I have been a regular customer for the past few months since I moved to the area, the last experience I had at their nail salon wasn't the greatest. I had originally went in, to fix a broken nail that I had acquired a week after receiving a fill. No biggie, things happen and nails break (especially when you get them as long I do). I left with the nail being a different shape. Fine, pick and choose your battles. Then again another nail broke (two days later), again I chose to give them the benefit of the doubt and go in and get it fixed. HOWEVER, this GO AROUND I HAD AN ISSUE!! Half way through the nail tech fixing my nail, I had noticed the nail lady had cut herself on her hand with one of her tools. While she wasn't bleeding everywhere, there was enough to justify her getting a tissue to wipe the blood. Rather than washing her hands and sanitizing the tools, SHE PROCEEDED TO WORK AND WORK WITH AND ON CUSTOMERS. To me this is VERY UNSANITARY and deserves to be brought to attention. Please be aware of these concerns when considering to go to this salon. read more
