We've worked with Maria and Sauro twice so far. Once for them to build a 35ft. x 6ft. wooden fence to separate from our neighbors, the second time to install a 42ft.-long white vinyl scalloped fence out front. On the first job, their team arrived much later than planned but the job was well done and completed on the same day and we were very pleased with the end result. For the second job, they arrived on time, started promptly, and did a terrific job installing that vinyl fence out front. The work was meticulous and the end result shows for it. Their rates are also reasonable in comparison to other contractors in the area, with similar fields of expertise. We will gladly be hiring them again for other projects soon. read more

Sauro and his wife Maria, quoted us on a full Landscape job at our house. We wanted Top Cast concrete finish, floating steps, retaining wall on the slope behind our house with proper drainage, install new drain throughout property and make sure that water did not pool anywhere and also drain away from the house. The job was bid at nearly $150K. After the 2nd time Sauro installed new concrete, the concrete looked nothing like the first pour, the top cast was none existent in some places, he told me not to worry that they would fix it with acid and make it look uniform. When they did the final pour which included a section next to the house, it rained a few days after and I quickly realized that water was not draining away from the foundation but instead was draining toward the foundation, and creating dampness in my garage where I had just spent a lot of money epoxying; water was also ponding on the steps and at the entry way toward the front door. Again he said that he would grind it and fix it. During this whole time, i was fishing out $10K and sometimes double that amount per week to Sauro. As we were nearing the completion of the job, he ask for an extra $10,000 for extras...we settled on $5,000 as he was ready to walk away and; as a show of good faith we even made the check out to $5,500. This was early January. The following week he ask for the remainder of the balance which at this point was only $11,400...he told us that he had to go to TX to get his son; he was almost in tears. We agreed to $8K as there were some items which were not completed yet and needed to be fixed. (concrete, drainage, irrigation, lighting) At that time we agreed to give him an extra $10,000 to complete all the irrigation, drainage, front lawn, lighting and whatever landscaping work needed to be completed. When he came back, he barely worked 2-days and ask us for a check for $10K. We refused to give him the $10K as he had not done anything to warrant that amount. He left the job and refused to come back. I had paid for all the material used on the job with my Credit Card, it is true that he bid the job including material; but we discovered that he stole from us several things, plants, stone for the retaining walls, some new garbage cans that I had purchase for a future built-in BBQ, drainage pipes, and sock for the French drains. He used the gravel which I had raked and piled up in the back yard behind the retaining walls...this gravel was to be used on top of the Weed fabric on the hill side. He said that he would replace but did not. I would not recommend them! read more

It is a family enterprise that makes up for certain lack of state-of-the-art equipment (for example a mulcher) by sheer hard work (carrying off cuttings by pickup and trailer). They did a good job of tree pruning for an extremely low price. I recommend them unless a decorative arborist is needed. read more

They were attentive to our inquiries, design and suggestions. The company in the midst of building a paving stone patio and fire pit and they are wonderful to work with. They are hard working, skilled craftsmen and experienced. I've rarely found a company so free of any issues, hassles or complications. They are using excellent products and materials and have made many good recommendations. This all began with the need to solve a drainage issue from an old patio. They not only solved this issue but are building a I whole new modern patio structure that's beautiful. They've taken on other work such as moving and building new garden beds, adding walkways and much more. Their pricing is very very fair. Maria manages the work being done by her husband, Saura ,and large capable crew. It's easy to communicate by messaging and they are super responsive. I found them on Yelp and checked several references that were equally effusive. I will update when all completed. It's now a few weeks later as the work is nearing completion. Couldn't be more pleased with everything. They've built a patio, a fire pit, garden beds, walkway, stained a large wooden deck added a sprinkler system, and planted ground cover. This is a great family run company with a group of skilled workers that we were fortunate to find. Velazquez Landscaping performed just as discussed in their proposal. We had the yard redone with pavers. They worked very hard. The yard had to be completing removed including old cement, asphalt, broken pavers, a large ivy plant and a large amount of dirt. The challenge with our yard is there are very little areas that are square. So they had a lot of cutting to do on the pavers. They completed on time and made sure everything was cleaned up. Thank goodness for Velazquez Landscape and Construction! We basically had multiple sprinkler valves causing geysers in our yard due to softball pitching incident. We broke one valve and a domino effect happened with no way for us to fix it ourselves. And of course this happened at night... I contacted several vendors in the area for estimates to revamp a retaining wall planter that runs the length of our back yard (remove dirt, add plants and addition of large pebbles). We had a somewhat small job of replacing patio pavers and installing a gas line for our fire pit. They were professional the whole way through. Clear contract, volunteered to show insurance documentation, prompt return of calls and messages. The color was tougher to match than anticipated, yet they honored their agreement to match the color and ultimately found a great match. They were conscientious about cleanup and preventing damage coming through the house. The one mistake I made was I did not ask what equipment they'd be using. They used a jackhammer and I didn't warn my neighbors ahead of time. Jackhammers are extremely loud! I would highly recommend them and would use them again. read more
