North County Pavers did some excellent work for us a few months ago (December 2024), and we recently asked them back for an additional project in April 2025--removing the artificial grass alongside our home and replacing it with matching pavers. Ronnie and his team, led by Pompeyo, discovered that the original pavers were no longer being manufactured. However, they found a decent (though not perfect) alternative product. They proposed a creative solution: to pull some of the original pavers from our seldom-seen side walkway and blend them with the ones they had previously installed. The result is a seamless mix of pavers throughout our back patio--it's difficult to tell the old from the new. The newer, less perfectly matched pavers were used along the side walkway, where they look great and are barely noticeable. It was quite a bit of extra work for them but they insisted that it be done right. They are true professionals and perfectionists. Thank you, Ronnie, for another fantastic job! read more

North County Pavers did a great upgrade to my front yard last year (see my previous review) and the back needed a similar upgrade (see before photo). Ronnie came over and we were able to formulate a plan. He estimated it would take 5 to 8 working days to complete and in fact it took 7 days. Very efficient crew of 8 under Pompeyo's lead. No backyard access for anything like a bobcat so the whole job was pick and shovel. All materials showed up on time and were carefully staged even though there was road work going on in my neighborhood at the time. Cleanup on completion was perfect--not a scrap left behind. This was our third and best experience with pavers installation, and our first go with North County Pavers! Ronnie responded to our request to meet for a bid in a timely manner and while he was on vacation! He followed up every day with his crew chief Pompeyo. Pompeyo was on site with the crew for the entire project. The crew worked well as a team, was courteous, considerate of our neighbors and restrictive parking, tidy, and professional. Our project with NCP included: some demolition of existing small slabs; paver retaining wall/planter (wall work included adding a French drain, running low voltage electrical line and installation of down lights - extra wire for up lights we're installing later and installation of a landscape lighting timer in our garage, ran a pvc line for a drip system we will be installing once we are ready to add top soil and plants); paver walkways, storage area, and patio including tying new drainage into the existing drain lines and tying in the rain gutter down spouts. The total project was just under 1000 sq ft of pavers for walkways, patio, and storage area, and the retaining wall was 2-1/2 ft high x ~70 ft long. The project was done in 7 business days! From inception to finish, NCP listened, made suggestions, and brought our ideas to fruition - on time, and done right. The owner, Ronnie suggested a color tone that matched our existing hardscape and helped us to see a different vision than we had originally thought of. I had some tree roots lifting my backyard patio pavers in numerous spots. We first met Ronnie Hemphill in 2007 when he was working for another company. He was the lead designer/architect and point person for our full backyard remodel project. He worked with us on all details of the project from design, material selection and execution of the vision! When finished, we had an almost fully paved backyard space with landscaping and a fully replastered/retiled pool (completed by a pool company). It was and remains beautiful and has held up well over the past 18 years! We loved working with Ronnie so much that when we decided to completely renovate the front yard 2 years later, he was the first and only person that we called, as he had recently opened his own business. The front yard remodel project involved completely gutting the whole front and side yards and starting over with an elaborate design of paver walkways/driveway, artificial grass, river rock, decorative landscape rocks, inlaid lights on the walkways/driveway, and a 5-ton boulder!! Ronnie again oversaw every detail of the project from start to finish in terms of design, material selection and the completion of the work. Even to this day, we consistently have people stopping to take photos of our front yard for inspiration. They often stop to talk about the elaborate design and the exquisite workmanship. Fast forward 18 years - we needed to have a 70-foot garden wall demolished and rebuilt, 40 feet of which was straight and 30 feet which was slightly curved and at slightly different heights for each section. We also needed some additional paver work performed in an area of the backyard that was only partially paved previously. Lastly, we were having some significant paver buckling on approximately 1/2 of our backyard pavers due to highly invasion pine tree roots, along with several other miscellaneous issues that needed addressing such as some loose pool coping stones, loose bricks on another retaining wall, some paint and rust on pavers, etc. Who did we call all these years later - Ronnie Hemphill! His work crew of 6, led by Pompeyo, are unlike any other crew. They were here before 7 am each morning so that they were ready to go when the clock hit 7. They were all extremely pleasant, polite and helpful - always with smiles on their faces. They worked tirelessly in all weather and truly enjoy the work that they were doing. Their work is exceptional, and they always clean up each day before leaving. Our new garden wall is beautiful and sturdy - Ronnie found the perfect wall blocks to complement the pavers he installed 18 years ago! And, although those pavers are no longer manufactured, he was able to move some around, use some remaining from our original project and incorporate some of the retaining wall blocks to complete the additional paved section of our backyard so it blended seamlessly. All pavers in the problem areas were removed, tree roots were expertly excised and all pavers we re-laid and re-sanded. The result - we once again love our backyard! After all work was completed, we decided to go one step further and have the team clean, re-sand and re-seal all of our pavers on the property - not a small job at almost 3,000 square feet of pavers. The crew spent 2 days here and our front and backyard look like they were just paved with new pavers. The transformation is unbelievable. Obviously, we cannot praise Ronnie and his team enough. They are consummate professionals who know their business; provide invaluable expertise on design and material selections; deliver EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE; perform flawless work; and always leave the customer delighted. His pricing is fair and competitive, but more importantly, the value of the work is second to none. Needless to say, we are customers for life. We have used North County Pavers twice now and both times they have done a great job. The first project was cleaning up and resealing/sanding some existing pavers. Talking with Ronnie (the owner) I was impressed with how he picked out some trouble areas (one in particular was a tripping hazard) and he recommended a nice fix (taking up and re-leveling some pavers). His team did a great job at a really competitive price. I was really impressed at the attention to detail that he showed and just how easy he was to work with - very straightforward. The second job was bigger, and they again did a great job. We needed to remove/replace our driveway (and repair our sewer line once it the driveway was taken out). Again, Ronnie was great to deal with as we tried to schedule plumbers, tree removal and his team. He is very easy going and really listened to our concerns. The team that showed up (Fernando's team) did a fantastic job. They were again easy to work with, and did a great job (all the debris removal, then meticulously leveling and installing the new pavers). Finally, the team sealed everything and got it looking great. Bo did a great job with the sealing, and even went above and beyond by filling a couple of small areas on older existing pavers to make sure that everything matched and looked good. Again, they wanted to get things perfect and make sure we were happy with everything. This company does great work and we would use them again in a heartbeat.
