Wow! That's the best word to describe our experience with Nuwave. We had hemmed and hawed for awhile before deciding to replace our grass with turf as it felt like we were quitting something important. The truth is we saw so many of our friends and neighbors take the plunge with mixed results. We have a small footprint but with a new puppy, 2 kids and wanting to use the space for entertaining it was hard to maintain the grass and use it as much as we wanted. Hearing stories of bad contractors, scammers and Rolls Royce prices for the good stuff really slowed us down. Once we decided to get quotes we were still on the fence so we had a couple companies come out. So many options are out there and we went with referred teams. The lowest price quote was sketchy to say the least and most told us it would be over a month to get on the schedule if we signed up immediately. The last guys to come in were James and Justin from nuwave. Two young local guys that I saw doing really amazing work on Instagram. They booked a consult the day after i called them, showed up on time with samples and knowledge. We talked about the space and needs and they let me pick blind a surface from the samples they towed in with them. Pet and family friendly with lots of use expected while looking the most like natural grass. While we're chatting they're throwing in measurements and materials into the tablet and in less time than i spent on hold or with multiple calls to other guys we had a plan, selection and great price. We booked for 3 days later but the rain delayed us for 2 more. Install day came, the demo crew was here early prepping their equipment and they kicked off right at 8. By 4 the same day the site was getting cleaned, we had walked it with the guys and were off and running. We haven't appreciated our yard this much since moving in. Demo, paver edging, base and install crew were fast friendly and kicking butt all day. Highly recommend these guys for anything landscape related you might be considering! I like to consider myself a pretty handy individual, but when it came to me potentially laying 2000 sq ft. of turf I went straight to the Pros. I had a few concerns in regards to how the turf would hold up with dogs, children and an army of gophers that has been in my yard for many years. Effortless process. I had an appointment and estimate within a day of my inquiry on Home Advisor and my project started in less than 2 weeks. Samples were delivered upon request and their design ideas and suggestions really helped. On Day 1, demo day, the pavers were delivered before 7am and the crew arrived just after. Then the dumpster arrived. By 8am work was underway! These guys are great and really know what they are doing and are an absolute pleasure to work with. Justin and James are on site daily and their attention to detail rivals my own! They clean as they go and at the end of each work day, the site was neat and tidy. Clean up at the end is meticulous and you are left with a finished project and clean site. The actual job was done in 4 days and the pavers were sealed on the 5th day. Nu Wave completely transformed my front entry and walkway, turning them into a courtyard. I was able to reuse Mexican beach pebbles and transform a planter bed into a focal point, framed by the new entry. I also have proper drainage and irrigation now. Initial meeting: James and Justin arrived on time and were very professional. They heard us out on what we were hoping to accomplish on our property. They were VERY understanding of our budget and kept it in mind while they designed our backyard. The option they presented was PERFECT. Some pavers here and some turf over there would allow us to finally enjoy our backyard without breaking the bank. The Proposal: they emailed it a few days later (which aligned with when we were told we should expect it) and everything was broken down clearly. Very clean and detailed. As we reviewed the information, we had some questions and they were addressed via email in a timely manner. Signing the contract: days prior to starting the job, James and Justin scheduled a meeting to finally sign the contract and start the job a few days later. We were so excited! We were anxiously waiting in line to be their next project. We went over the plan of what would go where, they answered our many questions, we picked out the turf from the samples they brought, and signed the contract. Demo/Installation: give them space to spread out....for our project, they took over our entire driveway. It was just amazing to see all the components to this process. Lots of movement and noise, so be ready for that. The workers were non-stop. Man, they really work their butts off. Any questions I had the workers were polite and responsive. They were very approachable. End result: the project was completed in 5 days. There minor touch-ups that had to be made a day or two later, but very minor. The bulk and the most intense part of the project was done so quickly. Their timeline was on point. It was impressive. Kudos to Saul, Miguel, and the rest of the crew for all their hard work. First, let me start out by saying that we hate dealing with contractors. Just from personal experience and hearing horror stories from others, we knew we had to take our time finding the right one. We ended up interviewing 7 contractors total and then narrowed it down to 3, but ended up choosing Nu Wave for our backyard project. Some good first impressions we got from them were that: 1) James and Justin were very prepared for the initial meeting. We loved that they brought turf samples and paver catalogs for us to see. 2) They provided a very detailed quote where everything is broken down and itemized. A huge plus because then you know what things you can tailor in order to stay within your budget. Most contractors will just give you very generic quotes with an "umbrella" number to cover everything without indicating what a particular portion of the project costs. 3) They are not pushy sales people. They may suggest other options and solutions to things, but will not try to upsell you. They leave it up to you to call THEM if you want to move forward. No annoying phone calls/texts/emails like some other contractors we interviewed. In the end, we loved how everything turned out and our backyard really opened up! Pavers and turf was definitely the way to go (no more lawn mowing and weed wacking). And our "grass" is always green! Pavers made the final product look very high-end. A bit of advice: Just be patient. Due to the pandemic and people staying at home, it is an extremely busy time of year with tons of people requesting landscaping and home improvement projects. James and Justin are super busy and dealing with multiple projects at once, but they ARE responsive to texts/phone calls and emails. Although there were some delays to no fault of theirs, they worked pretty quickly, delivered on everything that was promised, and all issues that were pointed out were addressed. We decided that after a few years of being here, it was time to enhance our front yard. Now I do a lot of research and I am pretty particular when it comes to how I want home improvements done. It's a large investment and very long term for that matter. We were referred to these guys by my husband's hair stylist, nonetheless, I am glad that she did. they came in with a competitive quote and were very professional from the beginning. These guys are still starting out so they are a bit greener when it comes to having their own business however, their experience has been long-term from being in the industry. I am giving a pretty honest review and if there were a 4.5 star rating I would extend that. But I shall round up! These guys have been responsive any time I had questions or concerns. Not that there were many concerns, they were always available with a reply whether it was text or email. The project was supposed to be completed in one week, but with the rain, the project actually ended up being over two weeks, almost 3 weeks. But that was not fault of their own. When planning the details, they had very good insight and an innate eye for design. They truly measured and drew to scale when other companies just "estimated". I appreciated their insight and recommendations. My final project is beautiful! The quality of the artificial grass is perfect. My kids love running around in it and the pavers look great! My entire neighborhood has raved and thanked us for redoing our yard as it has enhance the value of the neighborhood. I thank these guys as they provide quality and efficient work. When it was time to lay down the turf, I caught one of their workers laying down with a pair of scissors just trimming every inch to make sure it was all even! Now if that is not attention to detail, I don't know what is! I I would have never expected any business establishments to have that type of attention to detail! The reason for the half rating is for the cleanup process and crevices in the pavers. The sand to fill the crevices could have been filled a bit more but Not a huge issue. As for the grass, I get that artificial grass is purely plastic being cut. The grass needles ended up being all over the place and it was small needles so I guess they left it in hopes it would fly away or get buried? Not really sure. When I went to go check and move around my rocks, I found two turf nails which probably isn't the safest having two young kids around. They did show me where the live water spout was in case I want to re-route my irrigation to the section below, however, they never covered the hole back up with the sand/dirt. And the last thing that wasn't as positive of an experience was the portable restroom that they had on my property. I'm sure it was just a misunderstanding and timing of when the project was happening but the portable restroom was delayed in being picked up. None of these factors would prevent me from hiring them again though! All in all, it was fine craftsmanship and quality product used. I would highly recommend them and take their recommendations! NuWave put in an amazing new putting green on my backyard. From beginning to end, James and Justin were pure professionals. I have learned there is rarely a project that doesn't face some type of challenge or obstacle. What makes NuWave so special is that they are pure professionals. I was so mesmerized by the completed green, that I didn't realize on one side of the project a measurement was slightly off my original request. I let James know after the work crew had already cleaned-up and left. His response was exactly what you would hope...he replied "No Problem, We will adjust." (To my original measurement) And a couple of days later the crew was happy to come back, fixed the issue exactly to the design, and made it perfect. The roll of the green is true and they were able to make exactly what I wanted. They laid the cups in concrete, and flattened the areas around the cups so they will last for years and years. The green rolls just like on a real green. It's a two-tiered green with 6 holes and it has every break, left-right, right-left, uphill and downhill. There is a 20 foot span that is perfectly flat for practicing straight putt alignment. They contoured the green to the available landscape and all their recommendations were spot on. James pulled up a picture of a 2-in-1 landscape light with a tiki torch as a great finishing touch to match my Hawaiian motif. Even though I didn't buy the lights they offered (at cost), they installed the ones I purchased from Amazon for free even though that wasn't in the bid. They really want their customers to be happy and any (reasonable) way they can help to complete your dream, they will do. On day one of construction (it took 2 days) James mentioned that they make special plastic caps to cover the holes when you have people over so they don't trip on the flags or step into a hole. He said he would pick some up and bring them. He didn't charge us anything for the cup covers and I know there was a cost. They also offered some extra material from another project since my project didn't yield extra material. I wanted to create a distant practice "rough" to chip from across my yard. Ask James or Justin for my contact information if you wish to verify this review. If you are reading this review in an effort to decide if you should call them to get a quote, don't go any further...pick-up the phone now and call them. You won't be disappointed. We are so happy with our new workshop floors! We bought a house that had astroturf in this room and we wanted to use it as a workshop. After months and months of not getting this project done ourselves, we hired Nu Wave Outdoor to tackle the job. They were able to schedule us quickly despite having other projects going on. When we decided to landscape our backyard and install artificial turf there were so many choices that it was completely overwhelming. My wife and I were thankful to finally find NuWave Outdoor as Justin and James took the time to personally answer all of our questions, put together a detailed quote, and deliver an amazing design within our budget and ahead of schedule! They were great to work with, made a point to be available to us for questions throughout the project, and stood by their work months after the project was complete when we needed a small patch of turf repaired thanks to our dog.
