This is the third time we've used Steve and his crew, and honestly, we couldn't be happier with both the experience and the results. This time, we brought Steve back after completing a room addition that impacted some of the turf his team installed for us a few years ago. The goal was to transform the area into a new sitting space with pavers overlooking the golf course. His crew had to seamlessly tie the original turf into the new paver area while also dealing with an elevation change. The result was absolutely beautiful. The turf naturally rolls into the new sitting area, and the entire space looks like it was always meant to be there. These guys are true professionals. The materials they use -- both the turf and pavers -- are top notch, and the quality of workmanship is outstanding. They also took great care of our property throughout the project, which we really appreciated. We were honestly speechless when we saw the finished product. Steve was great to work with throughout the process. Excellent communication, great attention to detail, and a crew that clearly takes pride in their work. Highly recommend Panjia Outdoors. read more

Steve is AMAZING! His crew is the best all around. They are the hardest workers I have ever seen. The value for the work is perfect. Steve is clear and concise with his communication and plans. He takes the time to answer any and all questions. Amazing craftsmanship. All services requested and desired for my yard were completed to perfection. About 10 years ago he concreted work at my house. I moved and needed his touch a second time. I will recommend Panjia Outdoors 100000 times over. read more

I couldn't be happier with the landscaping work done on both my front and backyard! From start to finish, this was a fantastic experience. The attention to detail was exceptional - every aspect of the project was carefully thought out and beautifully executed. What really impressed me was the daily check-ins throughout the project. It was clear they genuinely cared about doing the job right and keeping me informed every step of the way. The pricing was very reasonable for the quality of work provided, and they stuck to the schedule, completing everything on time as promised. No delays, no surprises - just professional, reliable service. If you're looking for a landscaper who takes pride in their work and treats your property with care, I highly recommend them. Panjia replaced our concrete driveway and front walkways with a paver makeover a few years ago. They did a superb job and we get many compliments from passersby. Throughout the project the Job-site was clean and tools stored away when they left every day. The entire crew were courteous and professional. I cannot think of anything that could have gone better. This year we hired Panjia to install pavers on walkways and patios in the backyard. Again they did a fantastic job. The crew takes pride in their work. They are committed to please their customer. Steve is knowledgeable, responsive and has continuous communication throughout the project. When you hear of a contractor who gets followup business you have found a dependable high quality company. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company, Steve and his crew. Once you meet with Steve you will understand what I mean. I had a new driveway ( pavers) and front yard hardscape done along with a new back patio ( pavers) and some artificial turf. Steve was easy to communicate with and always answered my texts and emails in a timely manner. I gave Steve a general idea of what I wanted and he came up with a design plan . The crew of Panjia Outdoors worked so hard each and every day and were so skilled in their work. They were always courteous and cleaned up the site every day before they left. Steve was always available by text to answer any questions and came to the job site every few days to check on the project and see if I had any questions or concerns. It was a pleasure working with this entire team. read more

This is a wonderful company with exceptional service and quality work. Steve gave us a solid bid for our paver patio and got us in contact with Skyline Sunrooms to coordinate the patio cover with the patio install. We knew we'd be happy with the work as Steve's company did the landscaping for 2 of our neighbors. We are not happy, we are delighted! The workers are incredibly diligent and cleaned up from their work daily. The install took a day less than expected and the patio (and now the cover) are simply lovely. In our opinion, this is the best landscape company around for a great bid, excellent work and customer satisfaction. read more

We were looking to get our yard redone after moving into our new house. I work in the construction industry and went through a full bidding and consultation process with multiple landscape companies. Steve was the most professional and offered the best value of everybody we talked to. Not only did Steve offer up the best up front service but his crew also followed through hitting time lines and doing quality work. We got what we needed and if you are looking to do similar, Panjia should be contacted for a walk through. read more

I contacted Steve after he was referred to me by a close friend. I had several others bid on the project but what made me go with Panjia was Steve's attention to detail and description of their process, which was much more thorough than the others. He explained everything to me up front, was not pushy, and their price was in line with everyone else I got bids from. From the start, Steve, Pepe, and his crew were fantastic. It's a small crew but they are hard working and respectful. We had a lot of small changes throughout and Steve helped guide or decision making. We were even more impressed when they took the time to fix little things that came up. Our gardener punctured the irrigation tube by accident and Steve and the crew fixed it the next day. I'm extremely happy with the work by Panjia and would 100% recommend them to my closest friends. read more

Simply the best in landscape! I can't say enough positive stuff about Steve and his crew. Steve is very responsive and knowledgeable. My biggest criteria other than workmanship is how communicative my contractor is. Steve was able to address all of my questions and concerns. His crew worked fast without sacrificing quality. And when they finished they cleaned up after themselves. Cost is also very reasonable. They can do it all when it comes to landscape and our home which was literally just dirt looks beautiful. We were fortunate to be able to hire Panjia Turf for our backyard makeover. Our project included leveling out our sloped backyard by adding a retaining wall with stairs, new fencing, removing our old concrete patio and replacing with pavers, creating an additional patio area of approximately 400 sq ft, and installing turf. We are more than happy with the results! The crew was polite, tidy, and completed everything with the utmost professionalism. If you plan to turf, pave or redo your yards, this is the company you want to work with. Steve Young and I met many months ago and due to the virus and other life events, the timeline was pushed back. Cruz and his crew were great and the work completed in the expected timeframe. I could not be happier with my pavers and turf. Steve and his crew were so patient and flexible with my questions, concerns and requests. In addition, my driveway, etc. were meticulous before they left each day. Thanks. read more

Met with the owner of the company great dude. The products they use our top notch and hopefully I can do business with Steve in the future.

This was the best selection I have ever made. I had a so so experience with my last contractor at my old house so I really wanted a better experience. Steve and his team far surpassed anything I could have hoped for. From the day they started until finished, the crew was in my yard at 730 Monday-Friday. They were like clockwork. Each aspect of the yard was done with care and excellence. They did a combo of turf/putting green, cement, DG, along with planters. The entire job was reasonably priced and exceeded our initial goal. Steve is very responsive to my texts and helped make some adjustments as we went. I would not hesitate to recommend or choose again. I can't say enough great things about Steve, Bill, and their team. From the beginning when Steve walked me through the plan till the end of the work, this was a high-quality experience. Steve and his crew just finished an incredible new front yard landscape for us. This is the second time we used Steve, about 8 years ago he did our backyard and we're still thrilled with the work. Some companies will only do the minimum and then tell you it wasn't in the original contract and ask for more money for the small details you never discussed. Steve not only completed what was promised, he thought, for example, that our gutters needed to drain into the ground so as not to ruin the landscape, so he connected them to a central drain, correcting a problem before it occurred. Details like burying the drip line heads so they're not visible, are all thoughtful additions that he completed to produce a tasteful and beautiful landscape. I didn't even mention the pavers. Goes without saying that the installation was great, the finishing touches wonderful. We have a step up to the front door which a competitor told us could not be duplicated with pavers. Steve's crew completed it perfectly. The last point I will make is to thank his crew. These guys are the ones who made it happen and they are truly experienced artists. Hats off to your crew Steve. I will add that Panjia is not the cheapest, and really fall within the price range of the other top rated local paver/landscapers. But based on what I've seen and the estimates and perceived value, Panjia is the best in San Diego area. read more

Steve and his crew knocked it out of the park for us. From start to finish the entire process was seamless. The quote and design were extremely detailed. We didn't think the job would be done in time for our daughters first birthday because of the tight window of time and the fact Panjia was doing the front and the back, but the guys worked their butts off and finished a full week early. We are excited to work with Panjia on future projects and highly recommend you speak with Steve about anything you are looking to do to improve your yard. Picture to follow shortly. read more

These guys were nothing short of awesome while working on my family's home in Rancho Bernardo, and trust me, my mother drives a hard bargain! I helped a lot in the process of selecting who was the most qualified, prepared and ultimately the most affordable for what we were looking to do to get the RB pad up to date. We needed pavers, a fire pit, an outdoor kitchen, to level out a raised concrete area and to remove a bunch of old shrubs lining the fence. Gas would need to be run, sprinklers would need to be reinstalled and they would have to navigate around the existing pool. Steve was our dude! To say the results are incredible would be selling them short... it looks amazing, out of this world, fantastic, (insert positive adjective here:_____________)! They knocked it out of the park on our backyard and family BBQs have taken a turn for the better. I'm just dying to tackle that rotisserie! I would recommend Panjia in a second to anyone who wants a job done well, at a fair price and completed on schedule. read more

This review is based on my experience with Panjia's customer service during the estimate/design process. Steve showed up to meet with me and my husband on time and prepared with turf samples and lots of photos on his laptop. We wanted to expand our patio with pavers, replace a retaining wall, and install turf. He listened to our ideas and provided helpful input. He didn't try too hard to upsell us on the turf or the pavers, but he also didn't provide us many paver options. He did, however, dissuade us from going with the more affordable wall stone. Our experience with the consult was okay, not particularly bad, but not great. Our main issue with Steve and Panjia is their poor customer service after the consult. It took Steve 3 business days (5 including the weekend) to return an estimate, then he never responded to us when we asked him to adjust some of the items on the quote. I'm not sure if he didn't think we were serious (my husband and I are fairly young, maybe we don't look like we could afford the work?), but we felt totally brushed off. It's unfortunate, because his prices were not bad. We actually decided to go with another turf/paver company that has phenomenal customer service by comparison. Same day estimates, thoughtful and prompt responses to our emails, and overall attentive customer service. read more

I couldn't recommend Steve and Panjia more! From our initial meeting, design, demo and build, down to the final punch list, his team functioned like a well-oiled machine. Not just skilled labor and deep experience, Steve illustrated a solid bed-side manner and a consultative approach that allowed us to be creative but maximized the likelihood of a positive outcome, all within our budget. And what a positive outcome! Due to the high demand for Steve's services, we had to wait a couple months to begin the project, but glad we did and didn't decide to push forward with a company that was more available. Steve leverages an expert crew of craftsmen and hardworking professionals that he's worked with for years. Pepe, Mike and the team were highly professional, respectful of the property and the ongoing family life during the project. Even with difficult craftsmen requirements, they all seem to know their jobs from end to end and worked hard all day, every day to meet the project timeline. Even under adverse weather conditions! The end product is an outdoor utopia! Panjia has transformed my back yard from a large, poorly designed and expensive to water environment, to what is now low maintenance and ideally laid out to accommodate luxurious outdoor living for the family. Thanks to Steve, Mike, Pepe and the team for a great experience and an outstanding back yard! Highly recommend! read more

It doesn't get any better when working with a contractor such as Panjia. This group of skilled craftsmen led by Steve Young were professional and artistic in their approach to our large front and back yard project. Not only did we have 2600 sq. ft. of pavers installed, but extensive drainage, gutters, rain barrel valves, electrical, gates, and a wall were installed as well. After viewing about a dozen paver jobs in our neighborhood and discussing the work with those neighbors, I narrowed my search down to 3 of the best paver contractors. After reading many reviews, I selected these 3 and requested meetings and quotes from them. Of all the proposals and interviews, not only was Panjia right in the ballpark as to price, but Steve's understanding of our requirements and offers of help in designing our area was impressive and far exceeded the others. The job took one week longer than planned mainly due to hard soil and rock in our yard that needed to be excavated for the new drainage. As the work progressed they installed a few extra drains that they noticed were needed in low areas not previously identified at no additional charge. Additionally, my wife and I added some changes to the order that were incorporated at a very fair cost. Pepe, the foreman was very experienced in all work areas and his crew were a pleasure to work with. His crew constantly paid attention to detail and many times went above and beyond the scope of the job in helping us. Given the need I would definitely hire this group for another job! read more

I started off with a designer that wasn't able to complete the design as desired in a timely manner. I contacted Steve from Panjia with my concerns about my design and he immediately took over and made it better than how it was originally drawn out. What impressed me the most about Steve is that not only did he take over, but he did it so expeditiously and went above and beyond the call of duty without hesitation. He committed to helping me with my frustration despite the fact that I was on a time crunch. And with that being the case, he could have just made the changes I had asked for and be done with it; but he actually took the time to make other changes he thought would enhance the design and make it look much nicer. Steve made other changes that made it flow really nicely. There were also pictures that he incorporated so that the contractor can look at what is being asked to build, making it easy to read and follow -- which is something that was not done on my initial design. I only wish that Steve was my designer from the beginning. So if you are looking for an amazing design for your backyard, Steve is the person to go to! He is an awesome person that is really good at what he does, and I wholeheartedly recommend his company, Panjia Outdoors, for your landscaping needs! read more

We are beyond happy with the work that was done in our backyard. Steve and his team were professional and great to work with. My husband and I are perfectionists and Panjia Turf exceeded our expectations in every way. We were hoping to get our backyard finished for an event that we were hosting; the weather could have really put a damper on our deadline. Steve brought in a second crew and their team worked extremely hard to have everything done in time. We got so many compliments the day of our party - we are so thankful for a job well done! read more

I struggled for three years to find someone I trusted and could collaborate with on my somewhat large backyard project. I learned a lot and met a lot of people along the way. Some were designers that had little sense of what it would cost to build something and how it would function. Some had no interest in my design ideas and just wanted to build their vision. Others were too practical and wanted to talk me out of building a backyard bar and recommended just buying a big table from Costco. Steve and his team at Panjia were likely my last hope. Steve looked at my ideas and said he liked many of them, but had some ideas on how to improve them. I'm sure you're thinking he was up-selling me for more money, but actually many of the ideas were improvements that cost less. At the end of the day, the decisions were mine, but Steve and Panjia gave me the options with the pros and cons. This sounds like common sense, but you will find that the world of home projects doesn't always follow common sense. Egos and greed can often obstruct people's views and opinions. With Panjia, that was never an issue. Another benefit of working with Panjia was the ability to learn along the way and make changes - WITHOUT indecent change fees. This is also very novel among many of the folks I have worked with on past projects......any changes resulted in my financial pain. Also, many of my changes with Panjia resulted in cheaper options. Never was there any grumbling. Panjia just wanted to get it right and leave me with something I was excited about. I could go on and on about how enjoyable it was to work with them. Big projects are like a marriage. You are going to be interacting with your builder for quite a while, so it can be agonizing if you don't trust them. I separately (with a different company) had some audio equipment put in my backyard. The project was 2 weeks. They did nothing to build trust or comfort and just acted like I was lucky to have them. It was the longest 2 weeks of my life and I still regret some of the things that resulted from their work. This was never an issue with Panjia. I had trust from day one until the end. Sometimes their expectations for quality work were higher than mine. They re-did a couple of things at their choice and their cost to make them better. I likely never would have noticed, but appreciated their commitment to quality. My only regret was that it took me 3 years to find them. Three more years that I could have been enjoying my backyard. read more

Steve Young and his team exceeded our expectations. They just completed the replacement of all of our grass (both and front yards) with artificial turf. They also installed a new concrete walkway from our back yard patio around the corner to our storage shed on the side of the house. Steve was wonderful during the planning stages and we implemented many of his suggestions. The team that implemented all of the turf and concrete were on time, courteous, hard working and wow did they cleanup every day...wonderful. As others before me have stated, Steve's way of joining the turf rolls is much more advanced when compared to the work of others I have seen. There is no seam visible. What was most impressive was the care the workers too to make the edges clean and neat. Steve's prices are not the lowest in town but they do represent a VERY GOOD VALUE. Once you see how much work (and materials) go into a quality turf installation, you will be amazed. This is a serious investment and you don't want it done by the lowest bidder. I tried that once and in 8 years I had to replace the cheap turf (installed cheaply). After seeing what Steve's team did, I'm convinced I made the right choice with Panjia Turf. Bottom line is Panjhia Turf performed excellent work, they were on time, they communicated with us every step and they delivered as promised. What more do you want from a turf company? We are very pleased and MOST STRONGLY recommend Panjia Turf. read more

I have to disagree with some of the reviews here. Mike and Steve definitely do not look like identical twins. Other than that, I agree with all the good things that have been said about Panjia so far. They are easy to work with, knowledgeable, courteous, fast, and professional. We just completed a landscaping job with them recently involving pavers, gas lines, sod, irrigation, concrete, stucco, and a gate. Not only are we super impressed with their work, all of our neighbors have complimented us on the landscaping. We highly recommend Panjia. And no we totally didn't know Mike and Steve were brothers until like the 4th day into the job. read more

I can't say enough good things about Panjia Turf. They just completed our front and back yard turf project and it looks incredible. The crew was the best I have ever seen, for any project. They worked hard each day and were very friendly and even helped my wife carry some groceries in a few times while she was carrying our two month old daughter in her car seat. They cleaned up every day and kept us informed as to what they were doing and recommended a few things that I hadn't thought of. They are very detail oriented and you will not find a better turf company around. Steve is great and very responsive to every question I had before, during, and after the installation. read more

First off, we knew that this was going to be a semi large job and we needed someone who knew their pavers (since that was the majority of the job). We got estimates and consultations from the top 5-6 Angie's List pavers/landscaping specialists and decided to go with Panjia because of cost and their obvious extensive knowledge of pavers. Most other consultations you could tell the representative didn't know pavers the way Mike and Steve does as they actually worked on it (and Mike still does) themselves. That aside, Mike and Steve came to our home many times by now and they are always a pleasure to talk to both professionally and personally. The job was pretty much on schedule minus a couple hiccups as with all major contracting jobs but Steve and Mike showed me that Panjiya is truly a class act and stuck with their estimate equitably only asking me for more expenses when necessary. I really appreciate that part about Steve and Mike as they won't nickel and dime you like a lot of other contractors. Their crew with Pepe is unbelievable....we had the privilege of watching them work on some of the days we stayed home and saw them lay the pavers and cut the border trims.....that's not something you learn overnight, obviously years and years of experience. They were also very friendly and courteous to us and tried very hard to stay out of our way during their work while we were busy moving in......very kind to our kids too that were curious about their work. The main aspects were done perfectly, aka the pavers and the firepit. We did have some small issues that cropped up with irrigation, plants, lighting, and the fire pit flame output but Steve and Mike always made sure to take time out of their busy schedules to come back to us to take care of the issues. These guys are extremely busy ALL the time (for good reason too if you see their work) but they do make sure you are taken cared of and do what they say. I just feel that there aren't many companies out there that would go above and beyond the job anymore these days and when you have someone like Steve/Mike/Pepe/and the crew....you'd be silly to go elsewhere if you can wait for their schedule to open up. Thanks Panjiya, we'll forever be your customers should any other needs come in the future for landscaping. Steve/Mike, when you guys ever have time, we're always up for drinks in our spectacular yard you guys help us build. Thanks again! read more
