Brookside Landscape Design did a phenomenal job. Our backyard went from the typical small, suburban backyard to a sophisticated and luscious landscape that looks like it belongs as a hotel lounge. Brooks and Jenny at Brookside have such a creative and and beautiful aesthetic that we never could have imagined on our own. Their attention to detail is amazing, and their design concept was truly everything we wanted. Even though we have a small yard, they were able to make it look so much larger by moving things around and creating a better flow. It seriously looks like we added square footage. All of the plants that they chose for our yard are so beautiful and unique. Everyone that comes by wants to know what each plant is called because they aren't the very common yard plants that everyone has...they are so interesting! They chose the foliage specifically for what they knew would grow well in our area and with the sunlight for each side of the house. Thoughtfulness went into every aspect of each item they added...from the plants, to the wood and stone for the built in bbq, the special market lights (that are really unique and fun), all the way to the treated concrete. Everything looks like a step above! The work process was easy, and the crews that showed up every day were gracious, kind, friendly and hard working. Over the weeks we got to know the workers, and it was a sad day when it finished and we knew they would not be showing up again every morning. We bought a new house a little over a year ago and had a vision for our dream backyard. The house already had the perfect pool but the rest of the backyard was less than to be desired with a fire pit that didn't work properly and some overgrown trees/shrubs in flower beds of dirt. In came Brooks with Brookside Design. I called him and explained what we were looking to do and he offered to come out for a free consultation to see what he could come up with. His professionalism and expertise were what we needed. He drew up the plans and after we reviewed and approved them, we scheduled construction. He also made some recommendations along the way based on some finer details. For example we wanted a seating area but didn't want to take up too much room. Brooks recommended a live edge wood table. He met me at the lumber yard, helped me select my piece of wood, had custom table legs made for us and it looks awesome!!! His design included hardscape and a complete renovation of our landscaping. He planes succulents and added lava rock to the beds as well. I've never had landscaping this nice. I hope my kids and dogs let us enjoy it for a little while at least. The construction crew was quick, efficient, and did awesome work. And they left the area spotless after each day of work. When I read those reviews, not only were they all 5 stars (not a single one was less than 5 stars), but if you read the narratives of the reviews, the common thread was the pride of craftsmanship that Brooks and Juan had, and their heartfelt desire to treat their clients right. For this reason, I called Stonebrook, but was disappointed to hear from Juan that Brooks was no longer providing design work Stonebrook, especially since it was the particular creativity in the designs (more so than construction) that compelled me to reach out. Fortunately, I was able to track down Brooks at his new company Brookside Designs. When I was able to finally catch up with Brooks, it became obvious after the first few minutes that Brooks had earned every single one of those 5 star reviews. Even though there was little assurance that I would eventually become a paying client, Brooks was patient when listening to our stylistic goals, honest, extremely knowledgeable and creative.
