Alex, Anna and their team at JJ's Landscaping did a wonderful job for us, demonstrating quality and perfection in every way possible. They listened to our needs and concerns and then carefully advised us regarding a recommended course of action. The main purpose of the project was building two block wall planter beds for trees in our backyard. The project also involved removing existing trees, moving and replacing old sprinkler heads with bubblers, moving and replacing old valves with new ones, relocating a drain, bringing in organic soil and planting five fruit trees. The walls were built with quality, including a concrete base and lining the sides of the planter beds with heavy duty plastic to protect the adjacent walls from leaching calcium deposits. Their employees are a credit to the company and always left the area neat at the end of the day, despite the fact that the project involved over a hundred wall blocks, concrete and yards of soil. Besides delivering quality results on time and within budget, they are nice people and very easy to work with. No doubt we will be telling neighbors and friends about their skills and are looking forward to recommending them to many people in the years to come. Highly recommended! read more

Alex and his crew did an excellent job on my front yard. They trimmed three trees, trimmed a hedge, trimmed several other shrubs and removed several agave plants. The price was very fair. The work was done in a timely manner everything was cleaned up nicely. I will be using Alex and crew again! Thank you!! read more

After receiving several bids from multiple landscaping companies, my husband and I were impressed with Alex's (owner) professionalism. He made us trust the project would get done on time and to our liking and boy did he deliver! We also liked this business was family run and operated. Alex had great recommendations relating to our project and has the hardest working crew out there. They diligently removed a large fire hazard forest in the back of my property on time and with better results than I had originally expected. I will be contracting this crew again. read more

We had a Canary Palm that was infested with the weevil going around killing all the palm trees. These guys were very experienced with it and knew what to do right away. They were fast, hard working, and provided a much less expensive quote than the others I got. Within a week of contacting them, we had the palm tree removed and replaced with my tree of choice. They made sure I was satisfied every step of the way. 100% recommend them for your tree care. read more

I called Anna with JJ's Landscaping last minute and asked them to come out to take a look at a property the same day. It was very important for us to have some general cleanup done on the property because we were getting ready to sell it that weekend. They came out, gave an estimate, and executed the job the very next day which was super appreciated! Not only that, but they went above and beyond and removed a dead tree in the back yard which was not included in their estimate. Anna was very professional and their price was extremely fair. I will definitely be calling JJ's Landscaping if I have any more big jobs come up on our new home! Thank you JJ's Landscaping! read more

I can't not thank Ana and Alex enough. what an extraordinary job their crew did. From the start they were nothing but professional; their quote was so Thorough. I had several trees trimmed and thinned . In the proposal ,I knew exactly that they were doing to each tree and explained the tree( I have several rare trees to the area )Communication was top notch, phone calls, email and even walk through for beginning and ending the work . Their crew was respectful, friendly and very tidy. There was no left mess of branches, saw dust, or wood of any kind . Very hardworking crew I will depend on now for all my tree and landscaping needs. J&J did a wonderful job clearing the area behind our house and building a new fence. They were very thorough, clearing all the brush, ground litter, dead ice plant, and the poison oak while leaving the native trees standing. They even ripped the poison oak roots out of the ground. The area looks nice now. I highly recommend them. You can take a look at the before and after pictures below to see the excellent job they did. read more

Alex and his team removed two 40 YO and 40 ft tall trees from my hard-to-reach backyard: one melaleuca and a bay laurel. And I mean removed entirely: including stumps and roots. Started on time, and--due entirely to the unexpected hardness of the burls atop the melaleuca root mass--completed work in two days. The price was very competitive and they had the area fully restored as well. It was as though no trees had ever been there. Highly recommend! read more

Didn't even get past getting a quote. Appointment scheduled for 6pm. 6:30 and no call or show up. I don't do business that way. Not even a call to say they would be late. So I said don't bother showing up. Definitely not a way to get my business. On time gets the job read more

Great job removing a stump in our cramped back garden.

extremely happy with the work that the guys did. We had a pretty big eucalyptus tree removed and they made it look easy. They are clean and respectful and after they left it was like they were never here, except the tree was gone. They also leveled out the yard for us and got rid of all the debris around the area. Having them plan out landscaping for the front next and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking. read more

Alex was great. He took the time to listen what I wanted and made great suggestions. Anna got back to me with a quote when he said she will unlike many contractors. He took the time to even picking plants with me at nurseries. I have worked with many contractors over the years and he is one of the very few that I am happy with and want to work with again. read more

I can recommend JJ's landscaping. The people that helped me were Alex and his crew and they took care of a couple of large, difficult to reach trees that I have in my backyard. I have many good things to say about them: * They arrived on time for the first appointment. Shows professional attitude. * The quote was reasonable. Not the cheapest, but the one that best described exactly what they would do. More professional behavior there. * They discussed the procedure with me as they were doing the job and asked me which branches to remove, and explained to me why my suggestions might not be the best. Professional correctness. * Friendly and polite. You will not go wrong with them. read more

Perfection from start to finish. I really appreciate their reasonable bid and professionalism. They cut 4 dead diseased trees from our property. They were timely and left our property cleaned and tidy. I HIGHLY recommend this company. (They are also very nice people on top of their great work ethics.) read more

We just moved into our house in Ramona and the backyard needed a LOT of work. Alex and his team were by far the quickest to get back to us, and the most kind. The team was here for 1.5 days and were incredible. So respectful, diligent and hard working. We'll have them come back to install our turf later this year! Before you go request a quote somewhere else, ask Alex first! read more

What an amazing experience!!! We had an oak tree, a pine tree, palm trees, a pepper tree, a jacaranda tree and some bushes that needed to be trimmed. They came early in the morning, did the job, cleaned up and left. Alex and the crew are the best. I highly recommend them!!! read more

Responsive and Skilled Alex and his wife, Anna, both worked with me for full day as I gathered three other bids on a very difficult Melaleuka tree that was about 40 feet tall with a circumference of at least 40 inches. The roots had grown into my neighbor's yard and was threatening her foundation. I can't speak more highly of this company. After a thorough and professional examination of the problem, they were very optimistic about how to solve it. A crew of five showed up the very next morning with a grinder. I had another tree that needed trimming so they did that too. The removal of the Melaleuka was intense! They removed it, though, and the stump too. I would recommend this company to anyone who needs a professional, clean, and skilled removal of a tree. When you work with this company you know you've made the right choice! read more

Anna and Alex were some of the most professional landscape people I've dealt with. They came by to review or project the same day and then worked together in a methodical and thorough manner to go through all the areas of our front, side and backyards that we wanted worked on. They measured, took pictures, asked knowledgeable questions and brought up great insights and ideas for what we could do. Very impressed with them! read more

They were wonderful communicating with us. The same day I reached out, they came by to assess the situation. Then, they provided a very reasonable and professional quote. We were able to schedule quickly. Day of, they provided excellent service. They did an excellent and thorough job, start to finish. Very knowledgeable! We'll definitely use them for our tree trimming needs in the future. read more

Working with Anna and Alex has been super great! A day after asking for a walk-through of our front and backyard, they came to the house and we talked through what made sense for our space and what they recommended. Alex and crew did a great job removing a 50x30ft. pine tree that was in a tricky spot against a fence on a ledge. Cost was reasonable for the amount of time and work involved. read more

We called JJ's landscaping at the recommendation of our landscape designer to remove a huge dying Canary Island Date Palm from our backyard. It was important to us to do this in a manner that minimized the disturbance of the rest of the fairly new landscaping. The JJ crew did a superb job even erecting large tarps to prevent chainsaw dust from blowing into our neighbor's yards. It was a lot of work including grinding out the stump to create an excavation for the replacement tree. Anna and Alex were very attentive to our concerns and the crew behaved very professionally. They definitively knew what they were doing. We highly recommend them. Maureen and Gary Wood read more

JJ's Landscaping reached out to me immediately when I was looking for help with my Hibiscus trees. They were timely, and always immediately answered my texts and emails. They got on the job within a few days and were always in contact with me. They were super knowledgable and friendly. It was such a relief to find a company that I feel I could use again and again. Alex and Anna were able to help me set up my watering system, which had not been running for a year. They left my yard cleaner than when they found it. I am so impressed with every aspect of my experience. I feel they value the client and their experience as much as they do the work they perform. read more

They did a wonderful job removing 4 HUGE Eucalyptus trees from our front yard, and trimming 2 HUGE eucalyptus (50'+ tall). We didn't want the remaining trees to look chopped off, and they did a great job lacing the tree while reducing its height and width by about 20 feet. We've used them on at another house to remove trees up close to the house and we're just as pleased with their work. They do a great job cleaning up, without leaving a mess in the neighbors yard, street or driveway. Highly recommend!! read more

Stop. Drop. Call Anna at JJ's landscaping now. No need to read other reviews. Anna was pretty busy but always got back to me. Their price was fair but I loved how she worked with me to ensure that my 10 palm trees were removed with care and precautions such as covering my pool and protecting my driveway was taken care of. The day they came, the crew was clean, professional and ensured they cleaned up every single day. When there was some debris that got through the barrier, their guys stayed for another 30 minutes just to scoop up the debris and cleaned up their working area. Again, not the cheapest but you shouldn't expect it with this level of service and professionalism. You get what you pay for. They are licensed, bonded and insured. Get it done right. read more

We found JJs on yelp and they responded very quickly to my request to trim 10 Mexican palms and 2 queen palms. Alex came out the next day to give me the quote. He also talked me through everything they would be doing. We decided to go with them and asked them to stump grind 7 of our stumps as well as remove a huge yuka plant! The came out Monday morning and were finished and cleaned up by 4! They did an amazing job! There were a couple of sprouts of a previous yuka plant that are still here but Anna let me know Alex would come back out to remove them! Definitely will use them again!! read more

Hard workers! They did an excellent job of trimming my 50' palm tree. The price would make me a repeat customer. Highly recommend.

We requested someone come out and give us a quote for sprinklers and sod for our 2200 sq ft yard. We had someone come out and give a quote. He suggested really unreasonable things like excavate 2 FEET of dirt to remove crab grass. He ball parked a quote that was the highest by thousands from the other companies. He also just never got back to us with a real quote taking into account the measurements he took from the yard. read more

Very responsive in getting a good quote and helpful in planning the removal of a large tree, and the residual effects of removal. During the the job the were artful in the way they shaped and thinned the remaining trees in the small grove. Helped in trimming trees back from neighbors and I received wonderful feedback from both neighbors thrilled with the work done. Highly recommend and would use them again! read more

These guys are amazing! The quote was thorough and they were able to handle a wide scope of tasks that we presented to them. Their price was also the most competitive out of all other bids. Our property is challenging for removal of yard materials and they handled the task no problem. They went above and beyond to clean up after their work was completed and even took the liberty of manicuring our 40 foot queen palms in the process. We are looking forward to having them back in the winter to trim up our pine trees. We would recommend them to all! Thank you JJ's for all your hard work, our property looks great! read more

Alex showed up as soon as possible to give me a quote for tree stumps removal. It was a complex and big project to do due to the stumps are on the hill and the location provide no access for the tools. Most of the job was done by hands, and they gave me the best deal I can find in San Diego (I got 5 quotes from different companies) ! The stumps were about 5 ft and grew deep. It was 3 full days of work, and they did an awesome job!! I will definitely recommend them to do any future projects!! read more

Alex and his crew were FANTASTIC!! We are listing our home to sell and decided last minute to get some help with the yard- I called and had someone out for an estimate that same morning and they came back THE NEXT DAY to give my front and back yard some much needed TLC. Alex was very upfront with the cost and was very reasonable, I think I got a GREAT deal for the amount of work that was done. He also oversaw all the work himself and made sure it was done perfectly and exactly how we had agreed upon. Could not be happier with their work! 5 STAR! read more

Came out to do an estimate ,then called 1 week later to make adjustments for estimate, and I never heard back. Disappointed on the lack of follow thru.
