I had Green Roots Tree Care come several weeks ago and they did an amazing job on two very large trees that had been neglected for a year maybe more. Steph Patterson, who is a licensed Arborist, guided his experienced helper in the trimming of these large trees. He also artistically trimmed both trees and they look beautiful!!! I hate that hacked up look that some tree trimming companies do in a rush to get to their next job. Steph and his employees we're meticulous and cleaned up after the trimming and made it into mulch onsite. They also raked up leaves that were not part of the tree trimming job! We really appreciated that!!! I love how competitive his price was how honest Steph is!!! I will continue to hire Green Roots Tree Care on a regular basis because I know what a consistent amazing company they are!!! Family owned, not a corporation! I like that!!! This has been a most pleasant experience. Steve and his team showed up on time! I had six melaleucas to be taken care of, one to be removed. They dealt with the first three in front. It was such a professional job and the following cleanup was amazing. It looked as if nothing had happened at all. The following day they returned, again on time, to take care of the remaining three at the back. My friends and neighbors were so impressed that it resulted in three more jobs for Steve and the team! We tried GRTC last year and were very impressed with Steve and his crew. They were quick & efficient at a very fair price. They did a good job of cleaning up afterwards too plus we did not have several small dead clumps of leaves left in the trees unlike our previous tree trimmer. I had Steve come out again this year and he a great job again on our Carrot Wood trees in fact 2 did not need trimming. They looked great after last year's job. I first contacted Steve to get advice on what to do with my ficus tree, which was not doing well. He is a certified arborist and knew what was wrong. I hired him to treat my tree as well as trim and shape it. His crew came the following week. They were professional and did a great job. I had them trim up my golden medallion tree as well. They were pleasure to work with, friendly, responsible, and competent. I highly recommend them. read more

The only words that I can describe is hack job. The owner, Steve came by to look at our trees, as he did a few years back. At that time, his workers did a nice job. That's why we called him back, to SHAPE our 40' sycamore tree and SHAPE our beautiful orchid tree. It is painful to look at how the workers hacked the limbs of the sycamore tree, chopping off the ends of the branches instead of using a cherry picker (because of the height.) Our beautiful orchid tree needed shaping; they did a worse job on "her" cutting the inside branches all the way to the main branches through the tree as if they were pruning a fruit tree. Plus leaving a large section at the very top untouched. When my husband called to tell Steve how unhappy and sad job his workers did, we never got a call back. Steve was not on site to supervise the job, nor did anyone ask me if I wanted to talk about the job, before starting it. Of course, I made the assumption they knew what to do CORRECTLY, silly me, assuming! This is a late review because my husband couldn't find the business card, and I've been thinking about how to explain the unprofessional tree trimming and shaping these worker were. My HOA has had Green Roots come out twice this year to trim common area Palms, lace trees, remove trees, etc. Plus many of my neighbors have hired him to do their trees as well and and they always do an excellent job! I've also recommended them to clients and heard great reviews from them as well. They're reasonably priced and are actually licensed and insured... which is important when you've got guys on tall ladders with saws... plus Steve's a certified arborist, he communicates well, give free estimates, and is very good about fitting you into his busy schedule. Steve and Geronimo came to my little patio to do a small job of cutting a few palm tree fronds. However they treated my job as important as a million dollar job. They were quick to respond and their work was very professional. I asked them to help me redesign my little patio full of potted plants in sad condition. They got it done. It was a fair price. But, a difficult experience...left quite a bit of dead parts on trees, hanging down...did not get really into totally cleaning palms. I see regrowth a month or so later. Everything was "oh you want X tree?" that is an additional item when I checked my text, it was included. That happened twice. I've had various tree companies over the years come trim my trees. Some have been good and some have not been good. Green Roots Tree Care fit in the good category. Steve and his crew came off as honest guys doing honest work. They removed and stump grinded two giant palms and trimmed my other two palm trees. The price was fair. They were efficient and did a great job. They even helped put on the pool cover to limit debris to get into the pool. They also removed it and cleaned it off, which I thought was above and beyond. They left the area reasonably tidy given the amount of sawdust and debris from chopping down palms larger than my house; not spotless, but I wasn't expecting that for obvious reasons. Prior to considering then for the job, Steve sent me a copy of the company's insurance and I was able to verify their license online. (I suggest you alway ask and verify whoever you want to interview for the job if license and insurance is important to you.). I will likely hire them again based on their work today. read more

I had GreenRoots come out on two occasions to do some work at my house and they were awesome. I had them remove a couple of palm tress and grind the stumps down. I also had them remove a giant bird of paradise tree that was way overgrown (probably 20 feet tall) and grind that stump down. I then had them come back and trim and shape two canary island pine trees both about 30 or 40 feet tall. Both visits they were on time, professional and very efficient with their work. They made sure to clean up after themselves and even waited around for a rain storm to pass through so they didn't have to reschedule the work (that was much appreciated). i called 4 different Tree service companies to estimate the removal of a large Yucca, Ficus and Bird of Paradise. I was amazed at the price range for the same work, and how unprofessional two of the companies were. I chose Steve at GreenRoots and he did a great, professional job. My neighbor hired these people to trim a tree on their property but that also extends over the fence above ours. My neighbor let me know in advance when they would be working and I asked that the trimmers talk to me before doing anything that would affect our yard. We have delicate plants, pottery, an expensive statue and other décor immediately under the tree. I was seriously wanting to see how well they performed the work and was contemplating using them for tree trimming myself. The trimmers did not contact me and began work immediately. They never sought permission to come onto our property. I was alerted when our dogs started barking at a worker who had entered our side yard. As the chainsaw was already in use high in the tree I was unable to enter that area but told the workers about the situation and that they needed to keep items from damaging our garden. I was later dismayed to see workers tromping in our garden, branches being dropped on our plants, etc. When all was said and done our garden was in shambles. A wrought iron trellis was snapped off at the base, several plants were killed (more by feet than falling debris), others had flowers snapped off or stalks broken. This company did not seem to understand the concept of respecting the property of others. I complained to the workers when they were finished and all I got was, "sorry." They offered to "clean up" but I told them enough damage had already been done. My neighbor asked if I could put a price on the damage so he could deduct it from their invoice. Except for a having to buy a few new plants and replace the trellis, the damage isn't something you can assign dollars. We worked hard to get the yard flourishing and now it will take a couple years to get things back the way they were. Needless to say, I will not be hiring them. If you have a nice yard (and you want to keep it that way), I encourage you to choose someone else. read more

We used them to chop down a dead tree! Steve was on top of all my texts. They came by and did it while I was at work and did a great job. Everything was cleaned up nicely.
