Chai Tea Martini
Cody J.

We love Vault 244! We were lucky to come during happy hour, so their already reasonably priced drinks were even cheaper. I started off with the Crater Lake Smokey, while my partner got the Chai Tea Martini (special of the week). The Crater Lake Smokey was super smooth, with a nice hint of smoke that paired nicely with the goat cheese stuffed olives. The Chai Tea Martini was super tasty with a strong hit of chai, and had a nice sweet finish. For our second round, I got the Sazerac while my partner got the Oregon Manhattan. The Sazerac had a nice hint of anise/liquorice from the peychaud's bitters that provided a nice balance to the spiced rye whisky. The Oregon Manhattan is one of our favorite drinks on the menu, and has a nice balance of complex flavors with the chai tea surprisingly pairing nicely with the bourbon, vermouth, and bitters. Highly recommend Vault 244 if you're looking for fantastic and reasonably priced cocktails. We'd love to try the food next time!

Creative, upscale dinner restaurant. I was hoping it had music, since I read somewhere online it being described as a "lounge". Nope. Service at the front was pleasant. We had arrived too early for our dinner and the sweet hostess apologized as there was no room at 5pm. We had flown in from a different time zone and I had made reservations for 7:30pm. We wandered around town for an hour and when we returned a new server/host rearranged her station to accomodate us at 6-something. Awesome, because we were both hungry and tired. Food was very good, and I thought the pricing was fair for the very good service we received. I'd come again.

Let's start off with the service; every person that works at this establishment was so polite and they were all full of recommendations on places to explore in Oregon. The history of the restaurant was also explained to us and it still has the original front door. The food was great, well seasoned and reasonably priced. The ambiance is a bit moody but calm. I loved the dim light and the relaxed seating.

Porterhouse Pork Chop

Nice looking restaurant, modest elegance. Appetizers we had were Brussels and seared ahi.. wonderful! I had the porterhouse pork.. delicious. Tanya, our server, recommended a Washington Cabernet that was great. Highly recommend!

My husband and I love coming here for date nights when we are in town visiting his family. The martini's are so fun and the food never disappoints. The ambiance is a bit more moody and romantic making it perfect for a date night.

Wonderful service and beautiful, cozy restaurant. The food is not only beautiful to look at, but delicious as well. The drinks! Perfect! And the prices for the drinks are so much better than I've seen in other fancy restaurants. The Saturn my son had I want next time. My lavender lemon drop tasted great, but could have used a garnish for presentation

Mai Tai Fun Fun.

I'll be back for supper soon, but dessert and cocktails were absolutely fabulous. The barkeep was lovely and made a stunning Mai Tai. Not sweet and juicy, but rum forward and true orgeat. I devoured my Creme Brule after giving it a good whack. Damn, it was divine. The vibe here is a bit of nostalgia with a side of simple pleasure. I loved it. I can't wait to come back and have the brussel sprouts and enjoy the Corpse Riviver. The bar is stocked with the best spirits, and the service is dreamy. See y'all soon.

Came here with some friends from Seattle. What great time was had our server was amazing. He was honest and fun and took great care of us. The food was outstanding. We all shared pretty much the whole small plate menu, all four of us agree that everything we eat was great. and a few bottles of wine made for a great meal. The place is clean and cute. Probably the best food I have had in Albany. So if you're looking upscale food in town this would be my recommendation. Can't wait to come back and try the pork chop porter house.

The food is pretty good, prices are a little high but there aren't a lot of high end options in Albany.

Probably the nicest place in Albany. The waiter was excellent and food superior, with some great wine choices. I will be returning.

The stark difference in our second experience was night and day, making this visit truly exceptional. The cozy and romantic aesthetic of the restaurant remains fantastic, and the food and drink menu is still absolutely amazing. This time, however, we had the pleasure of being seated downstairs in Tiffany's section, and she was beyond stellar. Tiffany is the definition of exceptional service. She gave us a complete, helpful rundown of how they structure their tapas menu, offered fantastic recommendations, and was incredibly attentive throughout the evening. We had a great time chatting with her and her professionalism and warmth instantly made our return worthwhile. Her suggestions were perfect--she expertly helped us select a great wine and recommended the black ink pasta, which was a showstopper. Cozy Taberna, when paired with service like Tiffany's, is easily a 5-star restaurant. From now on, we will only return if we can be seated in her section!

There are not a lot of other dining options in the area, so Fireside is a pretty easy choice. The food is just OK. Definitely stuff that is mass-produced and heated on-site. Prices are mercifully low, so one doesn't feel as though they've been ripped off. There is a big selection of non-alcoholic beverages, which I appreciated. The real standout here was the friendliness of the staff. Everybody I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. There was a band playing during my visit, and they seemed to be as "bar band" as bar bands get. I was the only person who applauded after each song, which was weird to me. I'd have hoped that staff, at least, would have applauded as well.

Over the last few months, I've stopped in for a beverage and sometimes an appetizer. The fireplace…read moreis cozy and the atmosphere comfortable and live music nightly. In the last couple of visits, though, it's different. My past history here prevents me from giving it a 2-star review. I know there has been a management change, and it shows. Some of my favorite staff have departed, seeking greener pastures. The reason for this review now is my most recent purchase ... a $17 glass of Pudding River Pinot Gris. When I found out the price as I cashed out, I felt robbed. I can drive less than 9 miles away and buy a whole bottle for $25. My previous glass of wine that evening was an $8 chardonnay from another local winery. I figured the Pinot Gris couldn't be much more than the Chard, especially one from Pudding River, which I've personally visited so I know their bottle prices. So, before you buy anything at the Fireside Lounge, ask the price. Don't be surprised (aka robbed) as I was.

I had never been to this side of Albany before, so it was great. Heads up for those of you that have never been here, there is parking on the street, or some parking lots I believe. There were some salads calling my name, but ultimately there was a French dip that won me over. I must say, I am happy with my choice. It was very flavorful, and I also added a cup of chili. I would recommend both. Service was fast, and the staff were all really nice. Sorry, I didn't get any pics. I was too excited to see my family.
