On the outside, this place looks a bit dead and possibly not open. Inside however, is excellent service and tasty food. They are pretty fast too. Clam chowder was fantastic. Lots of content to dig into and not just liquid soup. Potatoes and clams are literally overflowing in the bowl. Chicken Fried Steak - huge chicken fried steak paired with a large side of mashed potatoes, both piled with their country gravy. Wow. This is a hefty entree for anyone. Gravy has bacon bits, is creamy, and tastes fantastic. Chicken fried steak was as solid as any other and the mashed potatoes had a great garlic flavor. Bacon Cheddar Burger - I like that burgers are half deconstructed so you can pick and choose what extras you want like pickles, onions, or tomatoes. Very nice for the average picky eater. It's a solid burger. Lock Jaw - lock jaw or heart attack, both are pretty solid names for this. It's three patties and these patties are 1/2 pound by the way. Like what, that's crazy. I give my meal (BLTA, bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado) a 3.5 and my husband would probably give his (Shrimp Louie) about a four--maybe slightly less today because the shrimp seemed a little salty (compared to other visits here.) I asked for my bacon to be extra crispy and it was not. And I don't think it was the server's fault because she made a note of it. Sometimes, I think the cooks just don't get what crispy or well-done means. If a patron asks for that, they really do mean it. Today it was under done. As it is in most restaurants even when I say both well done/crispy. We've eaten here 3-4 times now and I'd be hesitant to go back, but my hubby does love the shrimp louies and the service has always been stellar. Especially today. Another note: the seasoning on the tots is too much/too salty. In the future, I'll ask to have it without. read more

So, based on the reviews and photos I wasn't really expecting much from this place, but I was pleasantly surprised. Starting with the service, only one waitress in a jamb packed place, but she still managed to be timely and efficient. The food was really good! I ordered the Cajun tri-tip wrap, and didn't think I'd eat much, but it was too good to put down. My companion ordered the fish and chips and they weren't super greasy or bland. The bar is pretty big, and there's a wall a video lottery games. I would recommend and go back. read more

Simply the best. We've flown to Buenos Aires for a steak dinner, Portland (Maine) for lobster, and Edinburgh for haggis. We'll add Wilhelm's to our "go to" list. His burger is moist, complete with three laminated layers of bacon, and the meat was grilled to perfection. The bun wasn't intrusive, complementing the rest of the flavors. My Alfredo is excellent, full of shrimp. The garlic bread is the best I've tasted. In all, perfection. We would recommend Wilhelm's to anyone, anytime. read more

Wait staff seems pretty rude. They pretty much get in, get orders, leave, and then walk back 20 minutes later to drop off plates without a word. Beer selection is fine, nothing special but there's enough variety for anyone but the greatest snobs. Prices are pretty reasonable for the amount of food you get. Quality of the food is extremely hit and miss. I ordered a bacon burger with bleu cheese and it was quite good, but my girlfriend ordered the open face chili burger and it was an utter disappointment. The patty was bland and unseasoned, the buns weren't toasted so the chili just turned them into a soggy mess, and the chili was most definitely from a can. If you want a decent sports bar experience then this place is as good as any other, but the food and service is far behind the curve. read more

The service here was friendly and bubbly, just what one would want after a hard day! Food was absolutely sublime, and that's what really stands out I think. The round were tender and the sauce was perfect and plentiful. The cocktails were made correctly and were quite tasty, well done indeed. The only real complaint I would have is it is rather loud, as the acoustics there just seem to bolt everything up a little. But overall, that's a very minor thing in what was an otherwise superb experience! We will most definitely be back, and look forward to sampling more of the menu and cocktail offerings! read more

Was greeted by the bar tender, ordered a beer and then received the food menu. I had read on Google that this was the place to get a blue cheese burger and I was not disappointed. Loaded up with blue cheese, 3-4 nice strips of smoked bacon, pickles, let, onion, tomato on the side. The burger was huge, cooked to perfection and the taste was to die for. Call in orders (if someone answers) sounds like a good idea, but you are met with a bad attitude when you pick it up. Charged extra for take out if you have 4 or more orders. Some boxes are left open. Used to tape shut if too full. Now they don't care at all. If you dine in and are a regular you get special treatment. If you are not, good luck. Waitresses don't care about tips. Sometimes great or rude and don't have time for you. Our office is done. We will no longer order take out or go in to eat lunch. I will miss the food. read more

This place is great. The owner and all servers are very friendly and they make a mean drink. The food coming out of the kitchen all looked amazing, and I can personally vouch for the burgers, wraps, and the pasta. My burger patty was slightly over for my taste, however I never told him how I wanted it cooked so that was my bad. The thing was huge and had great fresh toppings. The fries are amazing and the soups are ever changing and homemade. If you want a good burger, I put this up there with Game Time, and if you want a decent drink, these are some of the best in Albany. Give this place a shot.
