August 25, 2025 - Silverton, OR…read more We had such an enjoyable meal here on a quiet Monday afternoon. Our table was right next to a huge picture window overlooking the Oregon Garden and the valley beyond--absolutely beautiful. They also have dog-friendly outdoor patio seating, which I always appreciate. Since our pup was not with us, we opted for the comfort of indoor seating on this hot, humid day. Service was warm and prompt from the moment we arrived. We're usually meal-sharers, but after a day of hiking, we each ordered our own. I chose the pesto orzo chicken salad, while my husband went for the pasta in lemon caper cream sauce with grilled chicken. To pair with our meal, we shared a bottle of Saviah Cellars The Jack Chardonnay ($39), which was crisp and delicious. My salad was excellent, fresh and flavorful, but the star of the table was definitely the pasta. It was so good that I kept sneaking bites from my husband's plate.

Garden View Restaurant, Silverton, OR - August 25, 2025…read more We came in on a Monday afternoon after an enjoyable hike at Silver Falls State Park. We had worked up a hunger. We left the pup back in the air conditioned motorhome, but they do have outdoor seating if you want to bring your dog. They weren't very busy at all. We were seated indoors and our waiter showed up right away. We were given menus and water and given a few minutes to decide what we wanted to drink. The indoor restaurant area has an upper and lower level. There is a large window looking out from the dining room towards the Oregon Gardens. The dining area has a couple different themes. One is lots of pictures of old-fashioned wooden covered bridges. Another theme is a collection of antique China that is displayed along a shelf near the ceiling. Finally, there are a few pictures of Italian gardens. I also liked the small decorative metal-encased glass lights hanging from the ceiling above the tables. After looking at the menu, my wife decided to get a glass of the Saviah Cellars "The Jack" Chardonnay and I ordered an old-fashioned with makers mark bourbon. Both drinks were outstanding. I decided to order the lemon caper cream sauce pasta with grilled chicken and my wife ordered the pesto orzo chicken salad. Both meals were delicious, especially my cream sauce chicken pasta. Our server was great. He even convinced us to buy a bottle of the Chardonnay that was very good and reasonably priced at $39 a bottle.

That said, I wanted to share my experience in the hopes it's taken as constructive feedback. I brought my niece and her partner, who are visiting from Georgia, to this spot after a beautiful day at Silver Falls. We were hungry and looking forward to relaxing with some drinks and food. We initially sat at the 21+ section, but had to move since one of us forgot their ID. Totally understandable. Before heading downstairs, the employee asked to see my niece's ID. Since she's from out of state, they also asked to see her debit/credit card to verify her name. While I get the caution, it did feel a bit unusual--especially since we hadn't ordered yet. It made me wonder what would've happened if she only had cash. Downstairs, we were greeted by a new server who seemed... off. Not necessarily rude, but distant, as if they didn't want to be there or didn't really want to engage with us. We ordered drinks and food--drinks were great! But food took about 30-35 minutes, which we understood. What was odd was the service flow. Our server came back to ask if we were ready for the bill... but we hadn't gotten our food yet. Eventually, another employee brought our plates and asked if we needed anything else. We asked for forks, but they never came back. When I asked someone again, our original server casually mentioned that utensils were still being washed--no reassurance or clear follow-up. It just felt like, "Oh well." My niece ended up asking for plastic utensils, and instead we were handed wet metal forks. We dried them ourselves and ate. The server didn't check on us again until the very end, and by that point, we just wanted the check and to go. The food itself was really good--but overall, the atmosphere just didn't feel warm or welcoming. I truly hope this feedback helps. The place has potential, and I'd love to give it another try someday, but this visit left us with mixed feelings.

I've been here several times and everything I've ever ordered has been freshly made with fresh ingredients, and served with a smile. On this latest visit, I was here with a friend for lunch. We arrived soon after opening and since we had our choice of tables, of course we chose to sit where we could watch the rushing river go by as we ate. We both ordered the Shrimp & Veggie Tempura. My friend also ordered a side of steamed rice and I had hot tea. The tempura was perfectly deep-fried and the dipping sauce was very tasty. Our server kept watch over us without being overbearing, filling our water glasses and taking our used plates away quickly. The day we were here, the weather was in the middle of giving us an atmospheric river, which means it was pouring rain as we arrived. The restaurant overlooks the Silver Creek and on this day, it was crazy high and rushing like it was late for its own lunch or something. Good food, great service, fabulous company, and a lunchtime water show - couldn't have asked for a better meal experience!

Im so glad we found this place they also have outside seating when its warmer. Seriously great place for a resturant. So beautiful here and the town is amazing.

The barista was nice and accommodating as well! We went during our stay in Silverton, and we all felt that the food was just ok (outside of the donuts - those were delicious!) and the coffee was perfectly adequate. The service was pretty quick - even whenever it got busy. The coffee didn't rewrite any history books and won't be added to a list of best shops in Oregon, but it's a great space to support a local shop and get a decent cup that's worth the price. Strong suggestion to order any latte half sweet - it'll be a good level for more serious coffee drinkers!

Although the woman behind the counter said she didn't make many cortados (even though they're on the menu), she said she'd give it a shot (see what she did there? ). It was tasty but had too much foam on top (cortados are equal parts espresso and steamed milk without foam), although now that I think about it, maybe it wasn't foam at all but simply the steamed milk bubbles rising to the top. Typically a cortado is served in a clear glass large shot glass but since they didn't have any of those, it was served in a small espresso cup. In any event, the drink was good and the bite-sized frosted mini doughnut was a perfect mouthful. I'd give them 5 stars if they had had a cortado cup, especially since it's actually on the menu, but overall, a charming place to stop for a pastry and a coffee. With several comfy nooks, tables for your laptop, live-edged wooden bars at the front windows, and a nice selection of pastries, I'd definitely come back here... and maybe next time they'll have cortado cups
