Our group of four stopped at The Noble Fox Restaurant & Bar for lunch, and everything about our experience was fantastic. We decided to order several plates to share so we could try a little bit of everything: Gorgonzola Fries, Bacon-Wrapped Dates, Brussels Sprouts, and Spicy Tacos. Every single dish was delicious -- there wasn't a morsel left on the table! I also ordered an Old Fashioned, and I can honestly say it was the best Old Fashioned I've ever had. It was so good that I had to seek out the bartender afterward to personally thank him and ask about his recipe. That led to one of the highlights of our visit: he graciously gifted me a copy of his cocktail book! I was so impressed that I ended up buying five more copies for friends. What a fun and unexpected memory to take home from our trip! The service was wonderful, the food was fabulous, and the hospitality made the experience truly memorable. We enjoyed our meal outside in the beautiful Oregon weather, which made an already great afternoon even better. If you're visiting Silverton or heading to or from Silver Falls State Park, The Noble Fox is absolutely worth a stop. And if you enjoy an Old Fashioned, do yourself a favor and order one! It made me wonder what would've happened if she only had cash. Downstairs, we were greeted by a new server who seemed... off. Not necessarily rude, but distant, as if they didn't want to be there or didn't really want to engage with us. We ordered drinks and food--drinks were great! But food took about 30-35 minutes, which we understood. What was odd was the service flow. Our server came back to ask if we were ready for the bill... but we hadn't gotten our food yet. Eventually, another employee brought our plates and asked if we needed anything else. We asked for forks, but they never came back. When I asked someone again, our original server casually mentioned that utensils were still being washed--no reassurance or clear follow-up. It just felt like, "Oh well." My niece ended up asking for plastic utensils, and instead we were handed wet metal forks. We dried them ourselves and ate. The server didn't check on us again until the very end, and by that point, we just wanted the check and to go. The food itself was really good--but overall, the atmosphere just didn't feel warm or welcoming. I truly hope this feedback helps. The place has potential, and I'd love to give it another try someday, but this visit left us with mixed feelings.

Until today, that is…read more Waiting for a nearby store to open, I walked across the parking lot and ordered a cortado and a mini-doughnut with mint frosting and mini chocolate chips. Although the woman behind the counter said she didn't make many cortados (even though they're on the menu), she said she'd give it a shot (see what she did there? ). It was tasty but had too much foam on top (cortados are equal parts espresso and steamed milk without foam), although now that I think about it, maybe it wasn't foam at all but simply the steamed milk bubbles rising to the top. Typically a cortado is served in a clear glass large shot glass but since they didn't have any of those, it was served in a small espresso cup. In any event, the drink was good and the bite-sized frosted mini doughnut was a perfect mouthful. I'd give them 5 stars if they had had a cortado cup, especially since it's actually on the menu, but overall, a charming place to stop for a pastry and a coffee. With several comfy nooks, tables for your laptop, live-edged wooden bars at the front windows, and a nice selection of pastries, I'd definitely come back here... and maybe next time they'll have cortado cups
