Great food with tasty variety, friendly service, and relaxed atmosphere. Wonderful live entertainment!

My father and I visited recently for the first time and were super impressed with the food quality. It's a bar so expect some noise and what not, but their price is very good for the amount of food and quality of food you get. Since it's a bar they don't check on you often but you can easily grab their attention to order or for the check! read more

Always great food with generous portions . We tried the Chicken Enchiladas and the Bison Burger . It was awesome in every way. Service was excellent and with a smile . Really wish people would realize this place is one of those rare hole in the wall Diner /Bar& grill you must frequent often and spread the word . The drink specials were some of the best prices I've seen for happy hour by far for this kind of establishment .Gave this establishment 5 stars and 2 thumbs up. Stop by when you are in the Salem area, you will appreciate the food / and service it has to offer . read more

Half Time Bar & Grill - July 3rd specials . - American Near Me - Salem, Oregon

Best service by far ever, Kiki was my bartender and she was so sweet and very attentive and managed the busy environment. Everything on the menu looked amazing. read more

My new favorite local bar experience - I love everything about this place, starting with the bartender/woman-of-many-talents, Sammy! When you fall in love with a cozy little bar, it has much to do with how welcome you feel, the service and people you meet there. Half Time's Sammy is FULL TIME AWESOME! I was lucky to land there on Wednesday afternoon for "Whiskey Wednesday" - all top shelf whiskey drinks are $1 off. The food menu selection is outstanding, a lot more than you would expect, including breakfast (Hallelujah!) - we ordered a bunch of items from the appetizers and everything arrived hot from the fryer, not greasy, with great sauces. It got a bit crowded around 5pm, possibly in anticipation of Trivia Night(?), but the people were SO friendly and everyone was talking to everyone like it was a private party. Bravo! read more

I love it when you stumble upon a local watering hole and discover your new favorite source for pub grub. I had a crazy hankering for a grilled chicken salad, but considering this pandemic and my lack of familiarity with this town, I was at a loss. I scrolled several options and wasn't finding it. That's when my teen mentioned her sibling ordered take out from Half Time Bar. I pulled in and immediately saw the 21+ sign, bummer because I do appreciate places we can hang on the patio (but understand and also dislike the full on crying babies under foot). I went inside and grabbed a menu so she could decide what she wanted and returned with our order. There wasn't a grilled chicken salad, but there was a house salad, so I asked if they could add chicken. The bartender was super friendly and helpful, and said he could hook me up. I was thrilled. The weather was nice, so we chilled outside for a bit, and our order was up in no time. It was exactly was I wanted. The daughter's burger was fire. So glad we found them. Looking forward to going back for a cocktail with my sister in law! Good people, good good, good times. read more

Very impressed!! Bartender Sylvia was super friendly and made great drinks, cook was also amazing!! the food is way better than your typical "bar food" would suggest this place to anyone looking for a small location with positive environment. Outdoor area was clean and welcoming. Keep up the great job!! read more

The Half Time Bar & Grill is great. They have a great breakfast menu, and the service is friendly. I recommend this place to everyone I know. read more

The Half Time has become our new late night go to. They have probably the best chili I've ever had. Big chunks of meat, delicious cornbread. We've only been in Salem for a few weeks and have made it here 3x. If you're hungry and all the other sidewalks around town are rolled up, this is a great place to get some good grub! read more

Great ambiance, amazing bartenders, fun conversation. Love the people and the food is outstanding!!!!!

Great service, nice local corner pub, everyone friendly. Food right from kitchen very hot and at fair price.

The Half Time Bar & Grill hosted a car show today that was such a huge success! Fun all around, the staff offered free merchandise, drink specials, and a welcoming atmosphere. I really hope that this bar starts hosting more of these car cruise ins! I will definitely be coming back for the next one. read more

This has been our go-to spot for happy hour for years now. We love the food, the service and the 'dive bar' vibe. Our favorite times to go are: Taco Tuesdays with Sami and Sunday Breakfast with Tabitha (Tab). The food is amazing no matter who's in the kitchen and our two favorite bartenders Tab & Sami always are quick with tasty drinks and smiles, plus they love our doggy Henry Check out Halftime, you won't be disappointed! read more

I gave it a two star because the first time we were there it was good. The tall bartender/ female was professional and served our meal like a seasoned worker that knew how to serve food. She didn't ask if we wanted more drinks. I did have to go to the bar to order one from her. She did seem overwhelmed with too many customers and only her to work both inside and outdoor patio. Interesting regulars there that are friendly and people that fall out of their chairs because they drink and who knows what else. My partner and I thought we may have to use our medical training...but fortunately they declined help. The second time we went for breakfast...the young woman with a pony tail was working that shift around 11AM...she was abrasive and not very good at talking orders or listening. She needs to learn some order skills and people skills...but ...maybe the owner hopes that people will forgive them because they are stereotypically "cute" for the young crowd. We will never return and we spend a lot more money. Glad to never return and our Realtor recommended it. read more

Great grill & bar! Atmosphere is inviting and comfortable. Staff and patrons are friendly and kind. For me, the proof is in the product knowing quality ingredients produce quality goods. So, the most important thing I can share with you might be this: among the condiments is Honey. Real. unadulterated. honey. No HFCS, which is more than I can say for some foodie joints. When you have the time, visit Half Time. I'm not saying you have to spend half your time at Half Time, but you ought to. read more

if y'all aren't coming to half time you are MISSING OUT! Best food and drinks at any dive bar in Salem. The tacos on Tuesday are 10/10 best dive bar tacos ever. Please don't sleep on them!!! read more

The Food=4 stars depending who is cooking__ Service/Bartenders=4..depends who the bartender Sammie is a excellent bartender ,HER SERVICE IS A 5,She should be Head Bartender ,Bathrooms are clean but the size of a SPIRIT airplane bathroom...no room for the handicapped Yet the place inside is cozy and has booths tables and has seating at the bar.. about room for seven seating at the bar.... There is also a patio style space for smokers and dog owners...large parking lot , The clientele is friendly or entertaining,The Morning breakfast is ok ,nice size plate,a filling meal,if ur hungry!!! Good variety of alcohol..but no 360 Chocolate vodka,(that's almost un-american) just blueberry etc,Coffee needs a boost, too weak for a wake up drink, Late Night Crowd is nothing but enjoyable entertainment for that bar . read more

Been in twice now and the food, drinks, and service are just amazing!! My friend had their chicken and wild rice soup and wow!! Tacos again amazing! Highly recommend this place. read more

Excellent bar food. IPA tap selection is limited but always rotating so you can try something new. Love the people here. Defiantly a neighborhood bar where everyone knows everyone. Love this place! read more

Were we invisible? Or is the policy to treat people rudely & verbally attacked customers in the morning for doin nothing wrong. Apparently ordering breakfast & bloody Mary's & putting money in the jukebox crosses the line. read more

The food is almost alway 5 *, the staff -1 to 4* .so that averages out to the 3* rating. Have had a few bad meals in the past, but lately always good. The cooks are great, the bartenders mostly not so great, lot of attitude, laziness. A couple are pretty good. Almost total changeover from pre-pandemic staff who were generally pretty good, friendly and helpful. Hit and miss experience, but still good food, better than most dives in Salem read more

Drove a couple hours to meet a friend for lunch here cause he said "you gotta try the soup". He was right! Friendly bunch with good wholesome food. If you are an effete de snob this isn't your place. If you like people waiting on you that have a sense of humor and openly appreciate your business, then this is the joint. read more

Shitty biker boiz, cheap beer, and 50¢ wings on Monday. You already know it's 5 stars!

Eh. I use to enjoy this bar until I didn't. It's a bummer that the bartenders were so off putting and rude. I gave one star because I had to have at least one. Justin the bartender is the only good thing about this bar and their cooks. read more

bartenders are absolutely phenomenal and the service is better than most restaurants! drinks are reasonably priced as well. highly recommend!!! read more

Big disappointment here. It looks like a cool little place and has a good atmosphere when you walk in, but that's about the extent of it. We waited 5-10 minutes before bartender even acknowledged us or brought us menus. We had to approach her before we even got that. The food was good.. really big portions and prices are pretty decent. I'm writing this review as I watch our server outside smoking a cigarette (and 2 other servers standing around talking) while we wait for our check... she dropped our food off about 25 minutes ago and hasn't been back since. Great place and great food... but the lousy service outweighs anything good. Definitely won't be returning. read more

Do not order Uber eats from them. They confirmed order waited 40 minutes driver showed up and the didn't even cook any food. Horrible customer service all they had to do is stop accepting Uber eats if they are too busy. read more

This place is not for the snooty diner. I like it because it is a great price for a hearty meal. Usually breakfast for us. The food is really good. The service can be sometimes slow, but not unreasonable. The waitress/bartender is the only one there a lot of times. Of all of the times we have been here, (over 10) the server is always apologetic and she (all of the servers have been ladies) is on top of things as much as possible! I think our secret may be out , because tables are harder to find when we go. Lots of different types of people, TVs to watch sports and a jukebox that is usually going. I love this place! read more

Absolutely incredible place serving salem going on ten years! Amazing daily specials from .50 cent wings on Mondays and a full NY steak dinner Friday nights for $15 bucks! Their staff is always incredibly courteous and nice! They serve breakfast all day and it's delicious! for 8 bucks you get two huge sausage patties, hash browns, eggs and toast! One of the more under rated places in Salem! i would definitely recommend read more

This is the "Cheers" of Salem, OR. It is a small comfy sports bar with a familiar feel. Anytime the bartender can recall every band members name from the band that plays next door in the basement of vintage clothing shop is a reminder of how awesome neighborhood bars can be. At the center of the awesomeness is Kristy - mom, bartender, and all-around fantastic bartender. She is the reason this bar gets 5/5 stars and why I'm even writing a review. When I ordered an Irish Whiskey, she suggested Teeling because she did not have Redbreast. It turned out to be a fantastic whiskey. All in all if you visit Salem as I did, and you're looking for a sports bar, this is the place to go. And be sure to tip Kristy generously. She's sets the bar for bartenders everywhere. read more

Best bar in town. Food is great, service is great, their Bloody Mary is off the wall. Andrea is a phenomenal bartender and the whole place just has a cozy vibe. Definitely a great spot to stop into if you want to socialize and have some strong drinks. They're usually open late and the patio is always packed at night. Make sure you check out the food specials! read more

Wow. This place is a breath of fresh air. My partner and I stopped there after our workout one night recently. We weren't sure what to expect as it has the look of a dive outside. We were pleasantly surprised when we crossed the threshold. Clean, lively, and friendly. The staff behind the bar yelled hello as if we were old friends. We were invited to sit and immediately the Bartender/server came over. He was exuberant in his highlighting the menu. We both opted for the dinner special (A French Dip with Sweet Potato Tots.) The meal was excellent. I had never had sweet potato tots before and they were awesome! The service was impeccable and quick. The chef came out and checked on our meal personally! Honestly, the tots were plentiful and we took a good portion home with us. If I were to make any criticism, I would suggest they expand their selection of local micro brews. I have noticed with increasing pleasure that the parking lot is filling up almost every night now! Good job. We will definitely return. read more

This is an above average dive bar. Bartenders are very good and always provide prompt service even when it is busy. Clientele is an interesting mix of ages and styles, usually pretty friendly. You probably won't get stabbed here. Food is cooked well, though the menu is fairly boring. Specials are very good deals. It has one too many TVs for my taste but I guess it is a sports bar. read more
