Super clean restrooms (always a good sign), fast friendly service, and a vegan menu available on request with lots of veganizable options. I had the vegan scramble with hash browns, toast, drip coffee with plant milk, plus fresh preserves from Washington -- and WOW. I rarely finish a restaurant meal because I'm usually thinking, "I could make this at home." Not today. Plate = spotless. Breakfast was good! The menu was maybe a little limited, but the food was very good. I loved the thick-cut bacon. Annette's is not a fancy place, but it's nice and quiet, and the service is very good. My coffee cup never made it to empty! Three of us went after church today, and it's a good thing we hurried. Do not waste your time or your money here. We were seated and our waitress did not acknowledge us for over 20minutes. Our appetizer was served cold. We asked about our food 3x and kept getting a vague answer (other tables complained about the slow food as well). When we were served it was cold and gross and our whole table was not served together. The waitress never communicated that a mistake was made. After 20 additional minutes and asking to speak to a manager we walked out. read more

Went to Annette's due to a friend's recommendation. What an awesome restaurant and bar! A group of us from a softball team went there for lunch. The menu had lot's of choices, but everything was delicious, and the BEST part was the service! Our server was Jasmine and she was nothing short of amazing! Friendly, efficient, smiley, and very personable! Everyone in the bar area enjoyed her kidding and fun-loving personality! What a gem! We plan to come back because of the food and the service. I wish there were outdoor seating because it was freezingggg inside this place. Plenty of open seats, so no need for a reservation, even on the weekend. I went with a group of 3 others and we all ordered coffee, drinks, and food. Their drip coffee was pretty watery, but the food and cocktails were amazing. The service was horrible. We call ahead to see if they serve prime Rib on Friday nights. Person on phone was not knowledgeable on how much it would cost. Gave me wrong quote. When we arrived there were no servers in the restaurant or at the door. We waited about 10 minutes and no one even noticed we were there. Finally I had to go up near the kitchen entrance and even then no one noticed me. I finally had to call into kitchen to get seated. We actually ended up just leaving because Noone seemed to want to work that night. Very disappointing. read more

Second time here after recently relocating. I sat in the lounge as to not take up a dining room space just for one. Service was pretty good. Bloody Mary was just okay, pickled veggies were old, dried and limp, even the lime had no juice in it. Looked like the skewers had been pre-made days before. (You could have at least pulled the wilted brown leaf and stem off the pepperoncini before you served it). Must be a great place for locals, who seemed to be more interested in drinks and gambling at 11:00am, because that room was full. Ordered something off the menu because I had seen one in pictures online. Big Mistake! Seafood omelette with potato pancakes and sliced avocado. Clearly the cook has no idea how to make one. Seemed like they fried the already cooked (frozen bay shrimp and canned crab?) in grease along with what looked like some spinach, maybe, and tomatoes with spring onions, and black olives. Should have sent it back right away just from the smell alone. But I was starving by the time it arrived. Shrimp and crab should not smell or taste that fishy, and who adds canned black olives ever to seafood?! Could not wait to rush home and wash that smell off my face and brush my teeth. Like I said previously, this seems like a place for locals to hang out, who seem to like mediocre food at best. Never again. read more

It's not a good look to have a number of bussed and open tables available, but to leave people in the lobby waiting long. Food was pretty good. Portions were large, but I don't really care about quantity so long as the quality is good. I got a black coffee, and it had a hint of cigarette butts. It was gross. The ambience is lacking. The restaurant has a dark and dank feel to it. Almost all of the shades on the windows were drawn, or half drawn. All the staff were wearing pretty unprofessional looking uniforms. Restaurant was a tad dirty. They need to get one of those manual powerless vacuums to pick up all the food that falls on the ground. Hide the stack of Pepsi paper cups, and do a few other small little things to improve the visual aspect. read more

Came here for breakfast this morning based on review I saw on "Bring Fido". It was misting a little bit, but outdoor tables under an overhang, so could have done outside with my dog, but restaurant unprepared for outdoor seating as all the tables and chairs were still chained together. Came back a few days later to try again for outside, and tables and chairs still chained together. "Patio closed because it's too hot out". It was 77. Gotta drop a star for this. Suggest if you are taking your dog, call ahead to see if patio open Annette's is that iconic kind of small town cafe, actually quite large inside with lots of 2 and 4-top seating. I arrived about 7 and it was a "seat yourself anywhere" welcoming sign. I hadn't even sat down when my friendly server approached me with coffee pot in hand. Fantastic. I had read the menu in advance, so knew I wanted to try the 6-egg "huge" omelet. Settle on the "Jake" omelet which is a LOT of everything; 2 kinds of sausage, ham, bacon, cheese and veggies. Paired with country breakfast potato and rye toast. It was "huge" for sure, but with attentive service warming my coffee frequently, I made my way through it. I'm guessing this one breakfast was close to my entire day calorie goal of 2100! Mostly locals in here this morning, but great friendly vibe. There's lots of side street head-in parking and a couple small car spots on the street in front. West Salem location, but easy to find. read more

We've been there several times. My sister who comes from so cal always wants to go for. Lunch, as well as my brother who comes from Washington DC. Great sandwiches and large helping of fries and onion rings. Cheese steak are great I eat them so fast I should order 2!!!!! And I am over 80!!! Can't miss a place that serves great American food. I came once before and dinned inside. The food was great good enough to get a five star rating. Come in a month later and if I could upload my pictures it would speak for itself. I can pull the cheese away from the fries and it was burnt with bacon, green onions pull off like a omelet blanket coving the fries. When you spend money for another to prepare food for you and your family it should be a enjoyable experience not a disappointed factor.Today 5 stars moved to two stars. read more

Great spot tucked away in West Salem. Staff is very friendly, food is delicious, and coffee and fresh squeezed OJ is excellent. They accommodated our group of 6 on a Sunday morning with ease and delivered great service. They have a mini skillet + small pancake or French toast that satisfies the sweet and savory tastes. Others in our party enjoyed the Haystack and the classic chicken fried steak. It's a great stop, especially if you're headed to the coast...right off the highway! read more

I had occasion to have brunch here with 4 friends from 11 to 12:30. The food was good, the portions large and the service timely. It is definitely a "Family" restaurant and our table was surrounded by 3 other tables with children under 4. Initially at 11 the noise level wasn't bad, but as time went by, the restaurant filled up and the children became louder and the noise level increased so it was difficult for the 5 of us to have a conversation. For the noise level alone, I probably won't eat here again. Of course, being surrounded by those little kids didn't help either. read more

The food is always terrific! However, the biscuits were a little "doughy" this time and heavy. The restaurant isself has always been a great place to recommend and to go, but, it's no longer the clean restaurant that I used to go to. There are marks on the walls, there's flies flying around your meal and the bathrooms, particularly the men's bathroom is disgusting! My husband and I stopped for breakfast and we each had a delicious meal. Service was a bit slow but coffee was plentiful and our waitress super friendly. I happen to love has but most places serve canned hash which is not so good in my opinion. Annette's makes their own from prime rib and it is fantastic. Probably the best ever! My husband had Danish blueberry lemon crepes which he claims were pretty darn tasty. Lots of food and definitely leftovers for us to take home. We will be back! read more

Horrible. Waited an hour to be seated (as expected on a weekend), then waited over an hour and a half for food, watching multiple tables be served before us who had been seated after. Our server was awful. Never coming back and recommend that anyone reading this doesn't go in the first place. After multiple attempts to check in with our server and being met with a really bad attitude and no willingness to help, we left before the food arrived. We paid for drinks, and our server then proceeded to tell us we won't be welcome back after the owner reviews footage and sees that we left before food came out. Turns out our server was the manager! A friend and I met at Annette's Westgate for brunch on my birthday. It has a dining room and a lounge. The atmosphere is quaint. The food is excellent, the portions are substantial, and prices are reasonable. I ordered an omelet with various meats, hash browns, and a biscuit. My friend ordered a vegetarian skillet with bacon (everything is better with bacon!) with hash browns and French toast. We each had a non-alcoholic drink. The bill was just under $40. My only niggle would be that the service was on the slow side. I didn't care - I will take quality food and slow service over quality service and so-so food any day. Very unhappy with my breakfast. I ordered Waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. I got two small waffles that tasted like they'd been reheated from frozen, with hard chunks of sugar baked in. The plate was completely drenched in artificial strawberry sauce, it was more like soup than a breakfast dish. And instead of a bit of whipped cream, it looked like they sprayed an entire can on top. I had to scrape everything off just to find the actual waffles underneath. read more
