    Burnt hushpuppies
    Tim S.

Took my wife here for a bit of an escape from the kids, where we could get a meal and some drinks. As much as I wanted to find something to like about this place, there wasn't really much... Pros: Interesting ambiance Cons: Watered down drink (The Darko) Out of multiple items (The Chubz, zucchini fries, all pasta) Burnt hushpuppies Slow service (Bartender seemed to be the only one running the place) Smoke/weed smell constant from outside I give a second star only because the hushpuppy batter actually tasted good once you got past the burnt taste, and because the bartender proactively asked us when she brought them out to let her know if they were ok or not. Otherwise, we ended up not ordering actual meals due to how slow it was and being out of most of the things we wanted to try, and ended up trying another place nearby.

    Zucchini fries

I went with high hopes and was pretty let down. There were only 7 beers on tap with over half out and not replaced. We got zucchini fries which were delicious with a touch of spice but a lot seemed to have almost no zucchini in the breading. It could be our fault as we ordered the pasta dishes- bacon Mac and chicken Alfredo. We will update when we go to try the flat bread that everyone raves about. The pastas flavor was there and huge portions of pasta. However barely any bacon in the Mac, just on top and not through out sauce. And then the chicken was dry and very small and only on top not through out. The side salads were delicious with pickled onion beets plus normal toppings. Service was good. There was only one worker and she was doing a double. I think she did awesome for how long she had been working. I had been when it was the brew and I loved the updates and changes they made to the place. Very inviting and relaxing for a group setting.

Such a great spot. Whitney, the Bartender was absolutely fabulous, on point, personable, quick to make a solid recommendation. Specialty libations were all tasty. Can't go wrong. I took her advice on the The Rabbit flatbread...add prosciutto. Outdoor patio rocks, and don't forget to visit, ask about the jail!!

I came here last week and enjoyed the entire experience. I had the Gyro, hush puppies, and a side salad. Don't remember the name of the drink, but it was delicious. The waitress/bartender was lovely and amazing. I came early in the afternoon and glad I did. The ambience match the scenery. Love the decor of this place and outside there is so much space. Can't wait to come back.

The stark difference in our second experience was night and day, making this visit truly exceptional. The cozy and romantic aesthetic of the restaurant remains fantastic, and the food and drink menu is still absolutely amazing. This time, however, we had the pleasure of being seated downstairs in Tiffany's section, and she was beyond stellar. Tiffany is the definition of exceptional service. She gave us a complete, helpful rundown of how they structure their tapas menu, offered fantastic recommendations, and was incredibly attentive throughout the evening. We had a great time chatting with her and her professionalism and warmth instantly made our return worthwhile. Her suggestions were perfect--she expertly helped us select a great wine and recommended the black ink pasta, which was a showstopper. Cozy Taberna, when paired with service like Tiffany's, is easily a 5-star restaurant. From now on, we will only return if we can be seated in her section!

The downtown location is convenient and has a lot of parking and food options. It is a secure building with strong and fast wifi, plenty of space, and quiet booths for meetings. The cons: It really is quite dirty with a lot of necessities missing. There is rarely soap in the bathroom and toilet paper and paper towels are never in their dispensers... just sat out. There are multiple printers but they're all out of paper. While there are a lot of spaces for working, most do not have outlets. While the drop-in price for CoW isn't bad, it would be nice to see this office cleaned and re-stocked a little more frequently.

My new house is incredibly rural, and upon realizing how laughable satellite internet is, necessity called for a more reliable form. Co.W is about 45 minutes away, but the most cost effective coworking space option, so they easily won. They offer a variety of membership options from offices and dedicated desks, to flex seats where you just settle in any available space. All plans offer some conference room access, use of the printer, and even free beverages and snacks. It's easy to sign up online and you enter via the two available doors using your cell phone, so I'd actually used the space for a good few weeks before I ever met the owner. I did have some questions I sent via email, and he always responded promptly. The interior of Co.W is gorgeous. I don't know what the space used to be, but it's an incredible old building with exposed brick, gorgeous hardwood floor, and even a fireplace! My favorite spot was along a little alcove with a big window and skylight. There is plenty of room with both an upstairs and downstairs space. They have tables where you can stand, or more traditional desks, and the chairs were all quite comfortable. I really enjoyed the culture of Co.W and everyone I met here was so nice and friendly. Working there, I felt like a very cool urban gal with the convenient downtown and just off the highway location. The whole area is very walkable and I enjoyed many lunch breaks wandering the streets and checking out adorable shops or picking up goodies from excellent eateries and bakeries (Hello Little Cannoli!). My reason for discontinuing use of Co.W was through no fault of theirs. After working there for about two months, (a maximum of maybe eight days a month), the city notified me that I would be required to purchase a parking pass. Not only that, but the parking pass only allows parking on the roof of the parking garage. Figuring in the cost of the pass with the price of membership, my cheapest coworking option was suddenly much pricier. Adding in gas, wear and tear on my vehicle and so forth, I eventually moved to Alt in McMinnville. Now, if I lived in Salem, Co.W would have absolutely remained my co-working space of choice. I might have found an alternative means of parking, though!
