The barista was nice and accommodating as well! We went during our stay in Silverton, and we all felt that the food was just ok (outside of the donuts - those were delicious!) and the coffee was perfectly adequate. The service was pretty quick - even whenever it got busy. The coffee didn't rewrite any history books and won't be added to a list of best shops in Oregon, but it's a great space to support a local shop and get a decent cup that's worth the price. Strong suggestion to order any latte half sweet - it'll be a good level for more serious coffee drinkers!

Although the woman behind the counter said she didn't make many cortados (even though they're on the menu), she said she'd give it a shot (see what she did there? ). It was tasty but had too much foam on top (cortados are equal parts espresso and steamed milk without foam), although now that I think about it, maybe it wasn't foam at all but simply the steamed milk bubbles rising to the top. Typically a cortado is served in a clear glass large shot glass but since they didn't have any of those, it was served in a small espresso cup. In any event, the drink was good and the bite-sized frosted mini doughnut was a perfect mouthful. I'd give them 5 stars if they had had a cortado cup, especially since it's actually on the menu, but overall, a charming place to stop for a pastry and a coffee. With several comfy nooks, tables for your laptop, live-edged wooden bars at the front windows, and a nice selection of pastries, I'd definitely come back here... and maybe next time they'll have cortado cups

I thought I was here for a quick stop-over between work meetings downtown Albany, but a quick email check turned into a "hey maybe I should use their WiFi" and unexpectedly and quite fortuitously for me turned into a gift of two and a half hours all to myself of people-watching. My travel companion told a couple next to us that they looked really cute and they shared that it's the love that's found towards the greater age in life that's more carefree. An environmental specialist who was sitting next to me and generously passed on the Wi-Fi password (it was all lowercase just as she remembered but had a couple extra words after the key one) is now a LinkedIn connection. The matcha latte is amazing. Definitely considering getting a large bag of loose leaf Earl Gray to take home with me - perhaps before the download spinning wheel reaches the magic 75%. Or maybe even after.

Back in the day when this place went by a different name and the vibe was more Hoppin' they made some of the greatest biscuits and gravy around. Legendary stuff. So naturally, I had to try it again. Good news: it didn't disappoint. I won't swear it's as good as the original incarnation (time has a way of polishing memories), but it's a solid second-best, and that's saying something. The biscuits were hearty, the gravy did its job, and I left full and ready for the road. The coffee? Decent. It'll wake you up, won't change your life, but it'll get you to Timberline without falling asleep at the wheel. That said, the place feels like a ghost of its former self. Sad to see the market closed that part stings a little. The building still holds the echoes of what it used to be, and you can almost feel the history lingering in the corners. Service-wise, there was a moment. The lady at the counter was BS-ing with some guy at the window for a solid five minutes or maybe he was just standing there, staring into the void but either way, I was ready to order. That little pause cost them a star. Still, for the price, the convenience, and the fact that I was in and out with no line while heading up the mountain, it earns four stars. It's good, it's familiar, it's just missing something. If they ever find it again, this place could really shine.
