Lasagna
Lois M.

Craving some Italian food for my birthday yesterday, I found this place on yelp and along with a couple friends, decided to try it out. It was okay. Just okay. I had lasagna as did one other person and the other one of us had the Gorgonzola butternut squash ravioli. The lasagnas were okay but obviously had been in the pan for awhile as the edges were dark (burnt) and crunchy, and the whole serving was dried out and not especially tasty. Flavor was just okay but truthfully, after reading the other reviews here on yelp, I expected to be eating something amazing. It was not amazing. According to my friend who had the raviolis, they were good but not enough of them to satisfy her hunger. We ordered at the counter, including canned drinks from the cooler. Self-service water was pointed out to us as was the coffee. As I already said above, it might be that we were expecting to have our taste buds knocked out of their seats but it didn't happen. With four inside tables, three of which were reserved, it seems they are doing well so we are hoping we just got in on an off night for the chef and we'll try them again another day and hope to have the same experience as other yelpers have had.

Pinsa Romano

The pizza we had was a special of the day Pinsa Romana. Nothing to improve on here. Was delicious and cooked to perfection. Was a good value. Shared with .y friend. Music was not intrusive. Nice choice guys. ..

This tiramisu may look unassuming, but it's the best we've ever had. Mouthwateringly delicate and flavorful.

Delicious, authentic Italian cuisine in a causal, intimate setting with friendly service! This is a GEM! Don't miss the opportunity to eat here, and definitely order the tiramisu!!

I had a tasty ravioli lunch here. It's in downtown Silverton with many charming shops within walking distance . I will definitely return.

We were heading to visit family in the area for dinner and were asked to bring dessert. While…read moredriving through Stayton, my wife remembered The Lovin Oven from years ago. We also recalled that there was some connection to Gerry Frank's Konditorei in Salem, which immediately caught our interest. After doing a little research, we discovered there's a deep and fascinating history linking the two businesses. The Lovin Oven began in 1983, when founder Doreen Helmemn operated the bakery out of her home. In 1993, the business expanded into a small storefront in downtown Stayton after being purchased by Mike and Valerie Schultz. Mike, who was formerly a logger, was personally taught cake decorating by the original founder, an origin story that adds to the bakery's charm and authenticity. One of the most interesting details we learned is that The Lovin Oven is the primary baker for Gerry Frank's Konditorei in Salem, a partnership that dates back to the 1980s. That relationship grew even stronger in 2017, when the Schultzes became co-owners of the Konditorei. Many people enjoying desserts at high-end restaurants throughout the region may not realize that their cakes were baked in Stayton. The Lovin Oven is especially well known for its Champagne Raspberry cake, Marionberry cheesecake, and an impressive variety of gourmet bars and cookies. Their menu also includes cakes, cheesecakes, cinnamon rolls, brownies, cupcakes, and more, something for just about every dessert preference. The bakery itself is housed in an industrial-style building that includes the production bakery, a storefront, and a small seating area where you can enjoy your treats on site. The outside is a unique with a black painted brick exterior. The customer facing area of the inside is industrial. We picked up a selection of cupcakes to take to dinner and were quickly back on the road. The cupcakes were a hit, everyone loved them, and they disappeared fast. It felt great to share something local with such a rich backstory. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and we're glad we stopped. If you find yourself passing through Stayton or looking for high-quality desserts in the Willamette Valley, The Lovin Oven is absolutely worth checking out.

May 2026 Oregon…read more Driving from Bend, Oregon to Newport on the coast saw this place and it had good reviews and decided to drive 10 miles out of the way to come here. You order your food at a counter in the back of the store. The open dining seating is in a different room. You go and get your food when the buzzer goes off. The buzzer is obnoxiously loud. I ordered a chicken salad sandwich comes with a pickle and a bag of chips. My husband ordered the pot pie. We both had a slice of pie. I chose a strawberry rhubarb and he chose the cherry. The chicken pot pie was very good. Had lots of fresh vegetables from peas to carrots, green beans, and potatoes. It was a good size for lunch, but a very small portion if it was your main meal. The grapes were large globe grapes, and they were firm and delicious. The chicken salad was delicious. Large fluffy croissant and the chicken salad had celery, chunks of grapes and onion. It comes with a bag of chips and a pickle. The pickle was large and crunchy. It tasted like a specialty pickle not one you would get at a typical store. The cherry pie was not the best. The crust tasted different than the crust that was with the strawberry rhubarb. It almost had a cinnamon taste. The strawberry rhubarb was fantastic. The crust was very dry, but the filling was delicious. My only complaint is the staff is not aware of the ingredients that are in the menu items. I first ordered some thing and told them I had an allergy to meet and they told me I was OK ordering the corn chowder. After taking a bite and getting an allergic reaction, they then check the book and find out it has bacon. There also was a cross-contamination with nuts. Overall, I would give this place 4.3 stars
