Mi Ranchito menu items can be fairly hit or miss, but when they are, they are phenomenal. Mi Ranchito has delicious green, avocado salsa that they serve free with meals. Their espinaca dip and salsa are also both very good. My husband and I both always get their Cream Cheese Chicken Enchiladas. They are seriously SO delicious!! This is a must have dish if you go to Mi Rachito. Their chicken tortilla soup is delicious and comes with a cheese quesadilla. That is an excellent cold weather dish, but would be yummy anytime. We have ordered To Go orders before and they have misplaced or seriously messed up our order several times. They always correct it, when addressed, but that can be very, VERY frustrating. Overall, it is a good Mexican restaurant, but the ToGo orders are unpredictable and the menu items are pretty hit or miss. Went for my boyfriends 41st birthday. Well he specifically asked for no singing. ... could get past that, but that took a spoonful of fried ice cream and smeared it on his glasses, beard and up his nose. So rude. I'm always tickled when the self-appointed Mexican connoisseurs rant about authenticity, or lack of it. Hey, not every southern grandma fries her chicken the same, and not every nonna's cacciatore tastes like another's. Get over yourselves and enjoy life and your dinner a little more. Although I've eaten Mexican fare all over the U.S. - and even in Mexico! - for over 50 years, I'm glad I don't have such an extensive knowledge of the cuisine as claimed by some of the reviewers. That way I don't know what I'm supposed to not like. My dining out tastometer is way more basic. Did it taste good? Yes, Mi Ranchito serves tasty Mexican food and sells it at affordable prices . . . actually very inexpensively. The service is prompt and friendly. Servers come by often during your meal to check on your progress and make sure you're happy. The margarita menu is well above average, with several choices of quality and affordable tequilas. Order the large one and you won't need another. In fact, if you drink two, you'll have trouble staying under the legal limit, I'm sure. Drink responsibly always! The menu is extensive, so I won't get into all of that. Order your favorite Mexican dish and bury your face in it . . . but be careful, the plate is hot! read more

Worth the wait. My family and I have been going here even before they had a location in Gladstone. The wait on the weekends is sometimes long, but there are many other Mexican places within a few miles with no wait. That speaks for itself. One of our favorite friday night spots! They always have great food and Marg specials. We have never been disappointed with our food choices. They come up with their own amazing cream sauces. Definitely recommend. The salsa is decent, the guac is really good but kind of pricy. They do offer complimentary salsa Verde which can be hit and miss. read more

Your typical Tex-Mex joint. The restaurant occupies a location that has morphed into multiple table service establishments over the last few years, without anything sticking. People seem to really enjoy this place and it took me a long time to make the effort to actually come try it. Very casual, family style where you could take a date or hand with some friend or your family. There is table service and the day we were there it was a bit slow, but nothing unusual. Have an extra beer. My normal go-to for a place like this would be carnitas - it's my base line, but I didn't do it - not sure why, but I went with Machaca Beef tacos. The waitress said it was the best thing on the menu, the thing she ate the thing you should get. I got it and it was beef tacos. Typical bean and rice sides. If you are looking for a different place to eat the usual Mexican fare, this would be a good choice for you. read more

the staff here was amazing. I took my daughter out to celebrate for lunch but we didn't bring a lot of cash with us because we hadn't expected to go out. We realized after we sat down that we probably should have planned better so we started to leave when the beautiful hostess with gorgeous nails came over and asked us why we were leaving, she then offered all the appetizers to be on the house. Having lunch here was one of the best experiences I've had dining out. The restaurant was very busy, as I expected it to be on a Saturday at lunch time. Yet, the waiter was so attentive and nice, and the food... Can we just talk about the food??? The food was soooo good. First let's discuss chips and salsa, holy cow! The lightest most crispy chips I've ever tasted in my life! The salsa? Well the salsa was so flavorful, you could taste how well balanced and fresh it was, the garlic, the onion, the cilantro... Oh my! When our plates came I was just taken aback at how pretty the food was. How did it taste you ask? Well, it was just fantastic! I had the steak chimichanga. The steak was not fatty, it was well seasoned and wonderful. The rice? Perfection! Beans? Creamy and delicious! The sauce was so wonderful, complex and rich... Just amazing really. Overland Park location is wonderful, this location, extreme disappointment. We waited for everything much longer than we should, witnessed several staff altercations, my water tasted like soap, and my food came out cold, like it had been sitting directly under the air conditioner. The girl who brought it said "I'm not surprised" (???) and then a worse offense, they just stuck it back in the microwave or oven and everything was stale and gross after. I asked for a refund which I have never done in my life. There is clearly a staffing issue that needs to be corrected ASAP. The food and service are great at the OP location but I won't return to this one. Huge bummer, we desperately need better restaurant choices in Gladstone and I thought this would be our new place. read more

Poor restaurant quality service. I have a lactose allergy so I ordered tacos without cheese. They arrived with cheese so I sent them back for new ones without the dairy. When I received the "fresh" order, one taco was fine and the other was again covered in shredded cheese. The service response to this was poor and they didn't seem to see this as the issue that it was. Otherwise, the other food was sub par quality. The experience overall was poor and dissatisfying. We have been here at least 5 times in the last three months. The employees are ALWAYS very polite, which actually goes a long ways. But after our last visit we are trying to find another spot. The food is a bit hit or miss, nothing has been amazing, while several dishes have been good. The chips and salsa (especially the white/green avocado salsa) are really good. It is a decent middle of the road Mexican place. They give the kids cookies at the end of the meal which is also a plus. The food just needs more spice, seasoning and consistency. The avocado salsa is so good! Favorite thing is the la crema chimichanga. It's your average Americanized mexican food. The chips are good. I tend to like thinner chips and that's what they are. Better service than Margarita's. read more
