We visited for the first time. I had a pork burrito. My husband had carne adobada (may not be the right name). The pork on my dish wash very tender and flavorful. Loved the cheese they pour over. The carne (meat) was also tender and well seasoned. He was very impressed. Chips, queso and salsa included which was a nice touch. Drinks were also good. He had a michelada which he liked. My Paloma was ok. They have a bit variety of drinks. Will come back again and recommend.

I absolutely love that they bring out salsa and cheese dip to the table before you start your meal or order. I was very impressed by this when we came for the first time. We brought in a large group for Easter, and they were so accommodating and the service was wonderful. This has become one of our favorite restaurants to go to now. They have a large variety of options to fit everyone's needs and the most delicious fried ice cream.

Fajitas Del Amor

Amazing quality and just as amazing service! That is the simplest way to put our experience here. We had a special fajita they created for Valentines Day, and impressed was an understatement. All around I would have to say that this is the best flavor, and best quality Mexican food we have had (and we really enjoy Mexican food). The fajitas Del Amor were delicious and the ice cream we got for my wife's birthday was just as good. Will definitely be back.

First time coming here. Very good! Really nice inside, think it used to be a pizza ranch. They give you a cheese dip when you sit down along with the chips and salsa so that was nice. Our server was very attentive and nice. They sang happy Birthday for my sister's birthday. The shrimp tacos dep Rio was good! Rice and beans were good too. I do want to mention that nothing in my shrimp tacos seemed seasoned. Like no pepper or anything. Shrimp was kinda bland and so were the veggies but still good. Absolutely loved the coconut margarita! Love that they put coconut around the rim too. Definitely will come back.

Besides bbq I've struggled to find good food in the Kansas City area. I had a taste for Mexican and found El Potro on Yelp. I am so happy I found it. I ordered the chicken Laura's lunch special with black beans. They start each table with chips and salsa but also a white queso. The queso is delicious. My food came out fast and hot. Everything was seasoned to perfection and a nice portion for lunch. Service was friendly and attentive. I will absolutely be back to El Potro when I'm in the area.

Holy cow what isn't good here? Seriously, I've tried half the massive menu so far and haven't found anything yet that I haven't loved. The service is amazing, and you get chips with salsa and some free cheese dip as soon as you're sat. The cocktails are fantastic and I just can't get enough of the food. Personally I like the el huracán the most, but the bacon wrapped shrimp is a great starter (if you have room for it all). 10/10, my partner and I love this spot.

Very beautiful and nice decor. Authentic style food. Futbol on the TVs. Walk in and you are seated by the host. spacious. Plenty of seating options from small to large booth, tables and high too table and bar seating. Chips, Salsa (bowl for each guest) and queso included at sit down. Clean floors. Clean tables and seats. Spanish music adds nice atmosphere. Tacos Al pastor are amazing. The burritos beef and chicken both amazing. Bathrooms are clean and accommodating. Staff is very friendly and professional. Drinks, napkins and chips/salsa stayed replenished. Complimentary cinnamon mints at host stand with toothpicks. Great for families big and small. Good date place.

!!EXCELLENT!! Two+ years after relocating from the late great state of Oregon and the marxist city of Portland we finally found a Mexican restaurant that we love. We saw El Porto for the first time a few months ago and thought it had closed but no, they were getting ready to open. So we were in for the first time a week or so ago. Despite being busy we were seated quickly and just as quickly served complimentary chips (warm, light and crisp) and salsa (spicy but not too). They were great and kept coming without asking. My wife had a fajita quesadilla. She said it was one of the best ever and based on the appearance I believe her. It was chock full of goodness. I opted for their seafood salad. Big and plentiful, I had to take some home along with quesadilla. The service was excellent and although I asked our server's name it escapes me and I'm sorry because she was very attentive, personable, and energetic all while managing a very large table in close proximity. She did an excellent job. Did I mention they are the first and only Mexican restaurant we've been to in the area that offers black beans? Just a wonderful experience all around and we'll be going back just as soon as we start jonesing for good Tex-Mex. It won't be long.

#31 lunch Chile relleno/bean chalupa

Meal started with nice thin chips, salsa and complementary queso. I asked for hot salsa and got a red and green. The hot red salsa tastes like mild salsa plus Tabasco and would not recommend. The hot green salsa was thin but very tasty. Meals were hot and fresh...portion size will give me lunch today and tomorrow at work. Overall staff seemed friendly although our server was not overly attentive or overly friendly. Would definitely recommend...very large menu with great prices!!!

House Margarita & Piña Colada Daquiri

We came in and were sat right away. The place was busy for a Sunday afternoon. The music and ambiance was pleasant. The House Margaritas can use a but less Sour mix and allow the Tequila flavor to shine. I think the price of the food was priced a bit higher compared to Kmachos or similar Mexican food joints. The quality of the protein was good. I was disappointed that my 9 year old sons $14.00 dish was not made right as I requested plain chincken taquitos and they were smothered in sour cream, guacamole and pico. No manager was ever present or checking on tables to see if the food and service was on point. This is why they get a 3 star and not 4.
