I really enjoyed my food from this place. I imagine the service would be good had I gone there to pick up my food or eat. The Hot Sauce is great! Nice bite to it. I ordered extra and the size of the portion they provided measured to about 1/2 a cup of salsa. Good stuff! Plan to order from here again before I leave town. read more

Was greeted at the door with a smile! We both had fajitas and I had flour tortillas. We also ordered queso and they even fried some flour tortillas for chips for me. The restaurant was clean and well managed. Will definitely come back. read more

I went here and the service is the only good thing here. The salsa was ice cold and the blandest tomato concoction, reminiscent of cheap tomato soup. The chips were cold and horrible. Not fresh the waitress served us our drinks and left while we perused the menu. We became alarmed when we noticed that the sides were not automatic. Like beans with the fajitas etc... and the flavor of the salsa was alarming so we decided to leave. I then came on here and read some of the reviews! I am in agreeable on the food. read more

We went here for a family birthday lunch during the weekend and I really enjoyed our experience. The hostess was very friendly and quickly got our tables ready since we had a huge party. There was already salsa and water starting to arrive at our table when we were almost finished getting seated. Our server was seriously fantastic. So personable, very attentive, and honestly did just a great job. The restaurant itself has a nice bar & grill feel to it mixed in with it definitely being in Kansas City (Chiefs and Royals décor). There are TONS of TV's in here too. The menu is almost too big, and has a great selection of items including daily specials every day of the week. The chips and salsa were decent. The chips were perfectly cooked but the salsa was too sweet with not enough spice. Flavor was ok though. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Wrap with Rancho Grande dip smothering it. The burrito/chicken wrap was massive and packed with flavor. I loved what I ordered and was really impressed. Overall, I thought our service and our food were 10/10 and made for a wonderful dining experience here. I hope I get the chance to come back here and try something else! read more

Clean, Busy place, good location service was good food is good tacos r terrific gotta try it!

To start out, I'm going to say the service was fine. The lady was attentive and was kind and helpful. That, however, is where the good ends... We started out with the complimentary chips and salsa, which was lackluster. Basically, tomato soup watered down with onions and no flavor to speak of. We asked if they had another salsa, maybe a hot salsa, which they brought out and was also found to be a disappointing mix of the first salsa with jalapeño seeds in it. We then decided, "Let's get some cheese dip it can't be worse than this." I ate my words faster than I would ever eat that dip. It was not queso as the menu suggested but was instead Velveeta with BBQ pork and some tomatoes. I would advise against it unless you have been drinking already. Oh yeah, and the bottom half of the chips .. stale or rancid, I can never tell the difference but stale fits. Well then, we made it to our main course which was for me, the Torito Bravo a combo plate of unseasoned beef taco, disappointing unseasoned beef enchilada, and a pork tamale that was also, you guessed it... unseasoned .. or at least tasted like nothing. My date ordered the Street Taco Dinner and found her "street tacos" were mostly onion and cilantro, and the meat tasted like it was seasoned with a standard steak seasoning. Combine that with the fact that it was greasy, and it too ended up with the gold star of "please never again." Both dinners came with refried beans, which i assume came from a can and rice that I assume came from a box with how bad they tasted. The ambiance is something I wouldn't really bring up except to say this... if you go out to eat and most of the people eating there are not, in fact, the folks that the food is known for (ie mostly white people) its probably not the best representation of the food being served. This place serves "Mexican food" made for white people. Tldr: Do not eat here if you value your taste buds. I will not be returning here. read more

We come here when in town. Our friends introduced us to it several years ago. So tasty and prices are good. This time I got the taco salad, soooo good. I don't understand all the bad reviews because its yummy. read more

This location isn't as good as Parkville. It's a nice location though. We went on a Tuesday and it wasn't that busy when we went at 1pm. The chips were just ok. Seems like they were in the warmer too long age got extra crispy or something, or they were old. I got a Long Island Iced Tea. Was just ok. I have had better ones, seems like it was a pre-made mix? Not good. The server was kinda slow and didn't check on us much. We had to ask for refills on things. read more

Great food & Service reasonable prices nice atmosphere portions were amazing in the restaurant seemed very clean

Everyone here was super friendly. The food tasted great. The chips and salsa were really good. I got the el pastor street tacos. The thing that knocked down the stars was how small the tacos were! Normally they are larger and should take up more of the plate than the beans and rice. I felt pretty disappointed since that is my favorite part. It tasted great but why were they so small?! Sad but good. Everything else was fine. read more

Menu selections are disappointing. A taco salad comes with meat, lettuce, and cheese. Wants vegetables on a salad, that will cost you extra. In fact, the rest of the menu, less the street tacos and fajitas, is the same. But then I ordered the street tacos and wait - came out to my table - with chopped onions and cilantro. Forgot the pico! Service was very good. What saves this place are the STRONG drinks. They were a nice change of pace compared to many restaurants. IMHO, food is below average. Good service. Great drinks. read more

Terrible. I used to frequent Rancho and then new management took over and ruined the place. Food is the worst that I have had from Rancho in a very long time. I hope they find a way to improve their service and food... Pretty disappointing as this was one of my favorite spots in Liberty. read more

Bad food, hair in salsa and small portions. Shrimp fajitas are a joke. This place has changed and we won't be going back!

This was my go-to Mexican for many years but lately something has changed. I came in tonight to place an order at the bar and was appalled to see the 3 people working behind the bar touching the chips in the warmer with their bare hands right after clearing dirty dishes off of tables. I may be somewhat anal about people touch my food, but it's pretty gross and, not to mention, against health codes to touch ready-to-eat food. I understand being busy in the restaurant industry but certain things like hand washing and proper food handling practices should never be skimped on, especially during a pandemic. It takes 30 seconds to wash your hands and two scoopers in the chip bin could eliminate the need to touch all over someone's food. read more

This place has hidden charges on your ticket to pay. I will not go here again because of this. I think this is illegal to charge for something that is not on the menu. We realize there are taxes but don't put an additional food tax and tip on my bill. I will pay tip as I wish! read more

Great food. Great service. Never a problem. Good prices. I do t like having to post 85 characters for yelp though.

I'm just wondering why this place is usually packed?? But if people seem to enjoy it, good for them. It's a large "Mexican" restaurant off the main path of other mediocre restaurants. Maybe a neighborhood thing?? I honestly don't think as many people want to/know how to cook anymore, and don't have many expectations when it comes to flavorful food. We came mostly to meet friends but good food should bring people together, not ready to head home with stomach cramps. That being said. These are only my thoughts... Festive atmosphere. Staff seems great! Nicely greeted. Table already had chips and salsa on the table. Sadly, the chips were very bland, half taco shells. And the salsa was like red tomato water. No bulk. So of course we had to dress up the stale chips with Gauc and Queso cheese dip. Cheese dip was great!! It's the only thing that helped me get the tacos down. Gauc was helpful too. As for the tacos... fried, greasy (like five napkins greasy for four tacos) corn torts with flavorless meat. Again saturated shell. Shred lettuce. Sprinkled cheese. (At least it's wasn't powdered!! OMG!) No onions, seasoning? I realize businesses want to cut down on cost but damn. I think making a good meal, specially on Taco Tuesday, would be a businesses first priority. But again, it's been my observation that many don't have high expectations when it comes to good food anymore. I mean the lines around the local fast foods are telling. Our server "Vanessa"... you know who you are, was great! I guess she likes the powdered cheese tacos. Has them with her dad. And that's wonderful!! Good moments. Everyone likes something different. But when spending money while eating out, we just like to feel like it was money well spent. I hadn't taken any pix so the one below will have to suffice. Happy Eating...!!! read more

Rancho never disapoints! Recently we ordered curbside pick up and we were very impressed with the service and quality of the food. Dispite the hard times we're facing Rancho is keeping the quality of their food top notch and their runners are upbeat and helpful! We are obsessed with the chicken and beef burritos! They're honestly the best and the only thing I can get my toddler to eat right now. haha. Rancho is doing things right! Go here! read more

New management and definitely not the same. Lots of better choices for Mexican in the Liberty area.

Shout out to the staff at Rancho Grande in Liberty tonight! Some tacky long acrylic nailed, top knot, fake baked, broad got completely out of line this evening. She was sitting 5-6 feet away from one of the staff entrance/exit doors to the kitchen. Literally watched the whole thing with my fiancée this evening while enjoying a delicious dinner paired with margaritas. So, a staff member accidentally splashed sour cream on this overly dramatic guest. After several staff members tried to apologize and wipe down the 2 drops that had spilled on her the guest still felt that an adult tantrum was necessary. After the staff had tried to correct the issue she still felt the need to continue the scene by yelling at everyone in the main dining hall who was trying to enjoy their peaceful Sunday evening for starring. Well, the sour cream was obviously too much to bare..literally. She mule kicked her chair out from under her, and thought it necessary to yell at the table next to her on her way out. She then had to be escorted out of the main dining room AND the bar by a manager. The lady then got pissed because she couldn't take her bud light with her after such a catastrophic event. Anyway, shout out to the staff for keeping it professional, the food delicious, the tequila strong, and for the free entertainment this evening. I tried to start a slow clap for the manager but my fiancée wouldn't let me. I seriously felt bad for the server who was taking care of the guest, because it looked like she got yelled at for something that was so minimal. Most people wouldn't act like that this over spilled milk... or in this case sour cream. Shout out to the waitress who gets 5 stars tonight because she kept it classy and apologize to several tables who sat around crazy sour cream lady. We salute you!! SIDE NOTE, this place is great if u like a strong margaritas. Go eat there. Chicken coyote is amazing! Highly recommend! read more

Came here for lunch on a Thursday with a fairly large party. We were seated right away, and the chips and salsa came out almost as soon as we sat down. Our server was very attentive and patient with our large group. The salsa was good and the queso was delicious! Most of us got some sort of enchiladas (we all got different types) and enjoyed them. Clean restaurant, nice atmosphere. Glad we tried it out. read more

Our server was attentive and polite. There was a totally disgusting smell that kept resurfacing. It was beyond over powering and smelled like sewer, a baby with a dirty diaper...... it was our table and the booth, badly. Then we noticed every time someone wiped down a table or chair around us it was back. The tags, or wash bin was filthy apparently and they were just speeding that disgust all around. I mean it was gagging!!!!! Then I know I read the menu but doesn't make sense to me. So my sister ordered a burrito and was charged $1.99 for the cheese sauce topping. I ordered two enchiladas (one the same plate and served right next to one another) and they charged me $1.99 for cheese sauce for each small enchilada. I mean ok..... not my complaint. Just seems a little ridiculous to me. The food was good. Not great, not horrible but the smell and knowing I was eating at that nasty smelly table and sitting in that booth is just gross!!! Honestly the whole place was just filthy. Broken chips and straw wrappers all over, napkins. Just a little sweeping and picking up could have taken care of that. It wasn't busy, no wait and servers chatting so I'm taking all of that into account. read more

Ordered pickup for two meals like I've done many times before. This time when I went in and told them the name on the order they said they needed a confirmation on the phone, this was a first. I was irritated that I had to walk back across the parking lot because their 2 "pick up spots" (the curb in front of the building) were full. I mumbled as I walked out the door about the fact that I had to do so and when I returned to the building I was greeted by the "zone manager". He proceeded to accuse me of verbally attacking his employees while I was trying to retrieve my food. When I told him he was wrong he proceeded to follow me out of the building and to my car threatening to use the DoorDash system to look up my information and claimed he would disable my account. This is absolutely ridiculous behavior and just to reiterate I said absolutely nothing negative to or even about the employees. I had no intention of doing so either, it's not an employees fault for company policy. read more

We just discovered this place and have been twice -- we really love the food and the margaritas. Service was great both times, chips and salsa came out right away, and it was very clean and spacious. Planning on taking my parents when they visit in the spring. read more

Something has changed here. I've eaten here many many times over the years and during the era of Covid. Food was simply not as good. I almost always get a #11, puffy tacos with shedded beef. The amount of beef was minimal at best. Less that a small spoonful. Even after I complained I was unsatisfied with the amount of beef. I have never even been close to rating this restaurant at less than 5 stars and I've been here well over a 100 times in the past few years. This time I struggle to rate it a 1 star. At least the margaritas were still good! read more

Mr. C and I wanted to get out of the Independence area to try a different kind of Mexican restaurant. Plus we wanted to get out of the house and go for a quick drive. So, we ventured to Liberty and tried Rancho Grande Cantina. Mr. C had heard about the friend avocado so that's what we went for. We decided to sit in the bar area because the chairs looked "cool" as Mr. C put it. And personally, I like tall tables... so ya. We both had a Pacifico and had the fried avocados for an appetizer. And they, were delicious! Not just the beers, but the avocados. They were tempura fried and To. Die. For. A little too bready, but superb! We really thought we might be in for a culinary diversion from typical Mexican. The chips and salsa were mediocre. To be honest, the chips tasted like they had been fried in old oil. The salsa was tomato... yeah, just tomato sauce with cilantro. Whoohoo... I tried a little of the hot salsa, but it wasn't notable for me to remember if it was good or not. For dinner we ordered spinach enchiladas, a side of whole beans and to go with it, french fries. Fried potatoes mixed in with Mexican food, especially soupy beans is great. Try it next you venture to a Mexican restaurant. The enchiladas were drenched in red salsa, shredded cheese and covered with lettuce. I believe if they would have used actual enchilada sauce, it would have been acceptable, otherwise, no bueno. The beans were basically just boiled in water with a little salt. They lacked spices and were lackluster in taste. The fries also... bland. Who knew you could screw up french fries. Well, RGC did it. Congrats guys! My biggest complaint about RGC is the fact that Chile Rellenos are not a part of the regular menu. They apparently are only a special Friday menu item. If they are battered like the tempura avocado, then they might be awesome. I cannot judge before I have it, but if they just smother it in salsa, I am fairly certain it probably isn't all that great. Here's the review: Food: dull and boring. Generic Mexican for Generic Gringos (aka the majority of the people who live in the Liberty area) Service: They brought us our food and drinks. Would I go back: I might go back for the avocado and maybe, maybe. To try the chile relleno, but probably not. read more
