This was a good place! We went here because they had both vegetarian choices and a kids menu. They did not disappoint! They were able to advise us on the rice (made with water, not chicken broth) and beans (get the black beans to be vegetarian, not the refried beans). My spouse got the vegetarian burrito, I got veggie enchiladas, and my kiddo got the cheese quesadilla with rice. They also give you unlimited chips and salsa for free. One thing I liked was they give each person a little dish of salsa, instead of just one for the table. Chips were good but could be salted more. Food was good. I really liked my enchiladas. Service was also good - they came by plenty to ask if we wanted refills on chips/salsa, and a manager came through to ask everyone if they were doing ok. The booth was comfortable, and the AC was good -- not too cold but refreshing to come into. The only thing that wasn't great was the bathroom -- one stall was out of order, one was a mess from a previous occupant, and the other had a door that didn't latch shut; luckily no one else came in while I used it. I'm just not a fan of junkie interior, which really is a put off, all the random candy and junk for sale, not a good look. Moving on, I did not care for the chips taste like old fry grease. Well, we initially were really excited to try this place out as we had a couple different people tell us how good it was. Simply put, it was the first and last time we will ever be going here for a meal. The only good thing about our dinner was the chips and salsa, and the cheese dip. For starters when we came inside, we stood by the "host" stand (if you want to even call it that because they don't seem to have a host/hostess) for about 10 minutes before anyone even spoke to us. When they did speak to us finally, it was just to tell us it would be 5 minutes and then he walked away. We weren't seated for another 10-15 minutes, and they almost skipped over us completely because they didn't even know who they spoke to first. By this time there were about 10 people behind us also waiting for a table. If they truly were jam packed i would have been more understanding, but half the tables were empty and just not cleared off yet. Once we were seated we just tried to figure out what we wanted as quickly as possible so we could get out of there. Our server was super short with us and never refilled our drinks. After we got our food we weren't spoke to again until long after we had both finished eating and once we got the check we waited again for another 10-15 minutes before anyone came to take our payment. In addition earlier in the day I had made a quick call in to see if they did reservations. The lady on the phone seemed pissed she had to speak to me at all. I said I wanted to make a reservation, and she didn't even take my name and hung up on me when I went to give it to her. Alright - we found our new margarita spot. Worth the $, 100%. When we arrived, check-in was a bit hectic. Once we were seated, I noticed the fun and bright decor throughout the restaurant. Mexican food is a favorite of ours. After passing La Costa on my daily walks for several weeks (we are in the area for an extended stay) I decided to make it a celebratory meal. It was an excellent choice! The food was delicious. Guacamole appetizer. I miss made table side fresh guacamole, but this was close. Dinner was taco salad for me and taco plate for the hubby...both excellent. Chips and salsa were kept full. Early dinner on Thursday had no wait time, but we certainly were not alone (a good testimony). If visiting on the weekend I would expect a wait time. Family friendly. Came to this place on a spur of the moment to get a few tacos and a drink or two. Its right on the Liberty square and pretty big. We were quickly seated and our server was quick to get drink order. I got a big margarita but without the sweet and sour and all that, I think they made it with Sprite and lime. It was refreshing but didn't taste like it had any alcohol in it so I got shot on the side. It was taco Tuesday so I got one of the taco specials, 3 fried tacos for 5.99 and my S.O got 3 crunchy for 4.99. The tacos were really good but if I had to pick I think I liked his crunchy more than my fried. We also each got a side of beans and rice. I think the portion was small for the price, almost $4 each and they weren't very warm. Also I LOVE beans and rice especially from Mexican restaurants, but those were not great not a lot of flavor and just pretty disappointing. Tried this place on a whim and were very pleased with our experience! Great food and customer service. Free chips with salsa started to flow once we were seated. Yum. So hard to stop eating them! What he delivered was a carnitas fajita plate (not on the menu?) that was amazing. Glad I trusted him. My wife was equally thrilled about her shredded chicken quesadilla. The torn vinyl seats and dirty walls were off putting at first glance but honestly I didn't pay for a Michelin Star experience. Nor did I expect it. The staff act like family and they love what they do and they also put a lot of passion into their cooking. So if you're looking for something a little bit more authentic come here, but also if you are in a hurry let them know so they can give your check in advance otherwise you're going to be waiting some extra minutes before it arrives or flagging down someone else who didn't wait on you. Other than that I would say this is a pretty laid-back place if you have children don't bring them around night time because some of the staff members will be taking shots with their customers. Bottom line: The only three redeeming qualities of this place are: 1. Taco Tuesday 2. Their spicy salsa 3. And spicy peppers and onions And that's pretty much it. Last time I was there they served my food cold and never came to check on me until giving me my receipt. My rating is based on the service we received. We decided to celebrate our anniversary with lunch. It was 1 pm and there were very few guests in the restaurant. We waited to be seated over 5 minutes. We were yelled at from the back of the restaurant but with the music and ambient noise, we could not understand what was said. Finally, a person, who I think was the bus boy showed us to a booth and served us chips and salsa. We waited quite a while before our waiter, Donis, (who was the person who yelled something from the back) came to take our order. We asked what beers they had and Modelo was a choice. I asked if it was Negra Modelo, at which he rolled his eyes and started listing beers again. I asked again if it was Negra Modelo, and was told no, just Modelo. No biggie but his impatience was palpable. The bus boy brought us our beers, and refreshed our chips and salsa. When our food arrived, our server, Donis, slammed my plate at edge of table and declared the plate was hot. He made no attempt to moved it in front of me. I had to wad up napkins to move it. When Donis brought my husband's plate, he literally threw it on the table, said the plate was hot, but made no attempt to put it in front of my husband. Wadded up napkins saved the day again. I would have blamed it on the temperature of the plates but Donis used hot pads. We were left to fend for ourselves. I rarely finish my meals and only ate 1 of the birria tacos (which was excellent). I laid my debit card on the table to indicate we were ready to pay, Donis grabbed it, and then slammed the paperwork on the table and left. I never had a chance to ask for a box. I usually give wait staff the benefit of the doubt, but when waiting on other tables, Donis was pleasant, and greeting people waiting to be seated as "brother," etc. Even though the food was great, we will never go back. read more

Our patience was tested but we finally flagged down a guy on his cell phone who was working the bar. Chips and salsa were just how I like them: thin chips and not too spicy. The waiter was fun and even ordered for my husband since he was unable to decide between two entrees. Got food to go here on a weeknight. Easily placed my order online and the food was ready in the window it said it would be ready at. I liked how they had a vegetarian section. I got guacamole and the vegetarian combo with a black bean burrito, cheese and onion enchilada, and black bean tostada. They slowed me to substitute the red sauce with their queso. It was decently priced and I had leftovers. The food was good, I especially enjoyed the tostada and the burrito. The enchilada left something to be desired but overall good experience! Used Yelp to order food from La Costa. After 2 hours, Grub Hub informed me that La Costa was not letting them pick up any orders. That they would only fulfill orders if you called the restaurant (phone doesn't work) or walked in. I find it very poor business to allow online orders only to notify the customer over 2 hours later that they would not be fulfilling the order. If you're looking for a quiet, cozy, authentic, and packed with flavor Mexican food, this is the spot. I had been wanting to check it out, and I'm so glad I did. Located in downtown Liberty right on the square, is a little teal and yellow painted restaurant sure to catch your attention when you walk by. A joint restaurant with a bigger side to it, you walk in and immediately are greeted to sit where you please. The walls are lined with bright colors and paintings adding to the authentic vibe. Although the device is a little slow, the food comes out hot, fresh and delicious. I ordered the lunch size (perfect size; not too big but not too small) chimichanga with the white queso on top. As much as I love a nice fried chimichanga, most places can't get the texture correct and make it too soggy. NOT THIS PLACE!! They deep fried it to perfection. It was crunchy just the way I like it. It was topped with tomatoes lettuce and served with rice and beans. The beans were one of my favorites too. We also ordered the lunch chicken fajitas and the steak ones too. ALL were amazing. They also have really fresh and vivid salsa with thin chips. I will for sure be coming back here. Especially when Groupon has their deals with them. HIGHLY recommended! read more

Good food! I like the location because it's away from the busier parts of liberty. Great selection of food and I appreciate they offer shredded chicken...some places don't offer it. The deluxe burrito is my favorite. The portion sizes are good, staff is friendly. The atmosphere is cool too, they have some intriguing pictures hanging on the walls.
