I love that their salon is clean and comfortable. My nails and toes always come out looking pristine. One tip from a regular--they are usually fairly busy, so it's best to make an appointment at least a few days to a week in advance to make sure that they have the time. I was pleasantly surprised by my first visit to Van's this week. It's located in a very old strip mall but the nail establishment itself has only been there for 7 months. I had myself the basic spa pedicure at $20. The spa massage chairs were new and lovely, and the massage and time she spent pre-polish was a treat. I go into cheap nail places with zero expectations and typically leave thinking "I'll never ever go back!" but this wasn't the case with Van's - I think I'll be a return customer! Hooray. read more

I got my nails done here the other day. They look really nice. But this is a cheap nails salon. The lady did acrylic nails for me calling it gel powder. There is no such thing as gel powder. I had very bad PAIN in my fingers all night after I went home. She over filled my nails with gel powder. You think that because they are cheap they are good too... but they are not professional when it comes to taking good care of your nails. Also, the lady used too much drill on my nails and made my own natural nails way too thin. She even trimmed the skin on the edges of my nails. I hope my nails grow back as they normally did in the past. If you really love your own natual nails, go to a professional, not to this cheap nail salon. Pay more but atleast keep your nails for future. read more

Being a man I had no clue which business was better than the other as I was driving around one day. I stopped by Van's and stepped in to make an appointment. The staff was very nice the shop was very clean and they were able to make an appointment the same day. They did a terrific job. I felt like a king I had two of them working on me at one time. One was doing a pedicure and the other a manicure. Wonderful service. I go every two to three weeks. Guys don't be shy, it's worth it, i'm in the banking industry and my girlfriend thinks it's great. read more

I like this salon. The ladies are sweet. They seem like they have been in the profession for a long time and it shows. I come to this salon when I'm over in this area. It's located in a center that's not too busy and easy to access. A thing to note is that his is a smaller salon so they don't have a big work force. The trouble with this nail salon is that they try to fit in as many patrons as they can and if you have an appt you may still have to wait and this is very frustrating. I feel if you are a regular customer keep your appts, you should not have to wait for more than five minutes. I use to be a regular for a long time but the owner (Van) had an attitude one to many times and I stopped going. read more

Truly the best in Folsom. I've had manis/pedis from Bella Nails and Hoshalls Salon and Vans beats them both in quality, service, and price. The women here are also the most professional..they truly care about what you want and make sure you are comfortable and happy throughout your stay. I got their standard pedi that included hot stone massage, warm towel wrap, lengthy massage, and perfectly painted nails for $26 ($25 if you pay cash). I also got a full set of white tip acrylics that were done just the way I like (short, thin, and rounded) for $28 ($27 if you pay cash). Each service took an hour but good work takes time so it's understandable. I also love how clean the place is kept and that there isn't a noisy TV playing or kids playing in the background. Great way to do business ladies...keep it up! I will never go anywhere else and recommend Vans to anyone that's sick of the usual sub par service so many nail salons get away with. read more

With great sadness I have to rate this 1 star. I've been a customer here, as well as my daughters, for several years. For the past 2 weeks I've been trying to call to get an appt. I came to believe they must have gone out of business. I just stopped by and they are there! When told that I've been trying to call for 2 weeks, their reply was that they'll call me. I was standing right in front of them! Most women I know work and do not take personal calls during work hours so it's pretty important for a business that wants to stay in business to actually pick up their phone when it rings. I was treated rudely. I came in yesterday and was lectured in front of other clients on how making appointments is important so I came back today during my lunch hour with an appointment and was not greeted then after waiting fifteen minutes I was asked if I could wait another ten! I've been to many nail salons in Folsom and greater Sac area. I LOVE THIS PLACE. -- my personal fav is Tina but they all are very good at what they do. Pedicures are to die for. Place is clean and they disinfect tubs after every customer. You would have to spend $60 for the same kind of pedicure at a high end salon and trust me they aren't even that good. I would first like to say that they are good at what they do. However they fail in their customer service and management skills. My first appt was great, my second, Van called and asked if I could come in an hour early, I rushed and no problem, my third was not good, I had forgotten to enter my appt date and time into my phone, so I stopped by a week prior, to ask when and what time my next appt was. Chan went to the book and told me it was at 4:30 on thurs. I entered it into my phone. When I showed up on thurs at 4:15 Van told me I had missed my 12:30 appt. I showed her that I had entered into phone at the moment Chan had told me 4:30 and confirmed the time with her again after I had entered it. Van will not accept that the maybe the mistake was hers or Chan's, no apology. For all I know she mistook me for someone else when giving me the appt time. You cannot call and confirm or make an appt because they do not answer their phone. An answering machine picks up the messages that are broadcast very loudly in the salon. After the messages Van and Chan discus in front of the customers, the content of the messages. Things like "yeah right, she wants to come in today". Very unprofessional. I will no longer go to Van's nails. I feel like they think they are doing their customers a favor instead of being grateful for their customers. They need appt cards and a receptionist. read more
