Today I had a soak off done, the last girl I seen was not there today so a gentleman helped me, soak off took a minute and I decided to do the cat eye, but they color they had was darker, I assumed he knew what to do with this polish, I hesitated because I didn't like it but he said he was new to the salon so we proceed and I didn't like the polish but I paid and left, it has already been a long process, I feel like he didn't listen or didn't know what he was doing I asked for builder gel and I got dipped to make my nails stronger before the polish, I reached out when I got home but only and automated reply. My sister and I arrived here at 6. They close at 730 so I asked if they had time for 1 pedicure, 1 fill in and 1 color change, they said yes. We got seated around 630. They started us around 7. The lady was in such a rush with doing my pedicure that she literally scrapped off the skin on the side of my foot where my bone is where she shouldn't have been scrubbing to begin with. She didn't ever apologize or seem to care at all as she simply co tinted and overlooked the blood coming out on the side of my foot. It's gotten worse since I've gotten the pedicure and hurts terribly when I walk unless I wear flip flops and nothing touches the side of it. The pedicure lasted all of barely 25 minutes but in cold water and does it really matter when no one apologized about cutting my skin?! My sisters nails were supposed to be "matte" and this is what she walked out with, the picture explains it all. He apparently filed the top coat off to achieve the matte look but they ended up looking like that?! She had to go home and try to fix them herself because at 8 when we got out of there no other nail salon was even open for us to go and get them fixed. My polish change is lumpy and has spots all on the gel. This place sucks so bad and I know so many of my friends that go here that no longer will be going there because of this! I will make sure to never recommend this place to anyone and explain why. **VERY DETAILED** I don't normally leave reviews/ratings...but here I go. So... I've been coming here for the past +/- 2 months and have had a great experience, and I only request Mr. Aiden. Well today I was coming in for my usual 2 week fill. I arrived early (8:38a), before the staff but remained in my car until they decided to turn on the "open" sign. While I was in my car, the staff start arriving at 9:20a and I was definitely noticed by the manager Jessica after she got in to turn the light's on. At 9:25a the open sign was still not on however; another customer pulls in but makes it to the door before me. It seemed like the manager knew her and they immediately discuss her needs while she requested Mr. Aiden. When I was ask, I requested Mr. Aiden as usual. The manager said to me..."ok". Now keep in mind we were all still at the door. The manager continues a convo with the other customer, gets to the front desk leans to the side and says "Um Mr. Aiden is going to do her first". I immediately replied "but I've been waiting since 830"... the manager proceeds to say "I know but she walked in first".TF!! Now this may not be a big deal to some but to me this was not at all good customer service. This was a shitty start to a shitty end! Here's is where I get "cussin" mad. I was given to Ms. Young who fkd up my cuticles.. ALL OF THEM!! Then I HAD TO TELL HER to take off the lifted area's of my nails... ALL OF THEM! This heffa was just gonna add acrylic to already lifted nails?? Lame af or nah? But wait, there's more... Apparently I had a small fungus spot from trapped water bc of a lift and Ms. Young had to ask the manager what it was...then got instruction on how to fix it...smh! Now I have been getting my nails done for over 10+yrs and am very very very particular about how they're done. THEN I was passed to this rude ass bitch (wish I knew her name) from the front desk to polish my nails. I told her the polish looked lumpy and asked if she could fix them. This bitch decided to ONLY paint over the lumpy shitty job that she had just done and proceeded to toss my hands to the side with each paint over! Despite my request, she sent me to the dryer anyway. I turned to the manager and asked if someone else could paint my nails bc the 2nd lady decided to paint over instead of fix them. Jessica kindly fixed them herself (re-buff included) and advised me that the reason the polish didn't look good was bc my acrylic job WASN'T SMOOTH! During all of this I over here conversation by the manager (despite her nice paint job) about waiting for this bad review... idk if that was about me or not... so here you go! I was pretty upset and I know they could tell by the look on my face... hence the conversation. If you come here, PLEASE choose your tech wisely. Not everyone knows what they're doing or how to treat a customer. Don't let the offer of a drink distract you. read more

Not only was the service poor during my visit on 10/8, but the quality of the pedicure and gel polish manicure were awful. The gel polish wasn't sealed properly (by the original manicurist or the person who was supposed to be fixing it) and didn't even last a week. I also noticed that they used Scrubbing Bubbles spray to "clean" the pedicure bowls after finishing pedicures. The pedicure bowls need to be truly disinfected/sanitized between uses; which doesn't happen with a quick spray and wipe off of Scrubbing Bubbles. I definitely won't be back. read more

Looking for a place to get a manicure on short notice and decided to try Vanity Nail and Spa. My first impression upon walking in the door was that it was fairly nice inside and looked like a good place to get a quality manicure. I was already mentally planning to come back for a pedicure at a later time. That was until..the young lady that checked us in did not seem the least bit knowledgeable about the services they offered, she had to keep walking off and asking one of the other women about their services and prices for various things, which is no biggie, I can deal with that. We were then seated and left to sit for approximately 20 minutes before we were acknowledged by any other employee in the salon. Maybe I was beginning to look a bit unhappy at that point since the lady that checked us in asked literally everyone else in the salon if they would like a drink but bypassed me all together. One lady finished a pedicure and came over to start my manicure, she was the one that asked if I would like a drink. Not that I even really wanted a drink, its just the principal of the matter. She stayed there for about two minutes before she abruptly got up and went to another table to work on another woman`s nails. Then she came back to work on mine after abruptly leaving that woman. After another minute or so she left me again, for good this time. After about five minutes another nail tech sat down and finished my manicure. I have never had my nails worked on by multiple people like this, and with no explanation as to why, and this is easily the worst manicure I have ever had. They did not trim cuticles, the edges of my nails are rough and snag everything, and the polish began chipping in less than three days. My week and a half old manicure looks like its a month and a half old. Unhappy with the quality of service I received here. My daughter also has tips on and got a fill in with gel while we were there. Her index finger nail came off less than two days later, not broken, just separated from where it was not filled correctly. Not to mention that her nails do not look professionally done, she is also very disappointed with her nails for the price she was charged for them. We will not be returning and will not recommend this salon to others. read more

Never have I, nor my friend, had such a terrible pedicure. It was rushed even though there were zero customers waiting and plenty of open seats. There was no massage with lotion, only a brief, very rough scrub (not even including our feet!) followed by hot towels, and we paid for the "deluxe" pedicure. One of our techs acted like he was on some kind of substance, laughing throughout, asking the same questions repeatedly and often answering himself. He also had seemingly uncontrollable hiccups and kept painting my friend's skin before laughing and apologizing. His dress and the way he carried himself were both very unprofessional (wearing what looked like house shoes and clothes he slept in the previous night). Everyone else working there seemed totally unfazed by his behavior and laughed at him as well. Our techs both ignored our requests (nails to be cut shorter and to stop cutting so deep into the side nail areas) and hurried us out of our chairs immediately after finishing the polish, even after we asked if we could sit to allow our nails to dry. We both left with polish on our skin as well. The service we purchased was not worth the $36 we paid, let alone any kind of tip. This is such a disappointment, as the previous owner built a really excellent nail salon and our experiences were always outstanding with the previous owners/techs. Would NOT recommend this place to anyone now. read more

I was a customer from minute doors opened. Everything was absolutely first class. Mike would bring you a list of drinks he had and he wanted you to have a great experience. Everything was always so kept and clean. Now when you walk in they try to turn you away and tell you to come back in hour or tomorrow or they say 15 mins to everyone that walks in door which means take seat and plan to stay an hour. They do not disinfect in between customers either. Just dust off table if that. It's not the same place it once was and my family will not be back. read more

5 months after my pedicure at Vanity Nail and Spa in Kannapolis, NC, I am still seeing a foot doctor at the end of July to take care of my 'bad' pedicure situation. The pedicure caused an ingrown toenail and ended with the toenail being removed. It was the first of March - the young man dug way down into the nail bed on the side of my big toe. He hurt me - he jerked back and looked at me when he did it and I flinched and let out a big "OUCH!" It continued to hurt, but I let him finish the pedicure. I went to get the ingrown toenail taken care of by dr and then went back to Vanity to see if they were remorseful or willing to help in any way - by providing some free services or something - but I was not well received. I was told that they would let the same person who did the damage do a pedicure for me for free. (Yes, that was the best they could do.) The reasoning was that the others would lose commission by doing a free pedicure. Not kidding. I declined the pedicure. The others there were rude and giving me ugly looks, and going back into the back room and looking at me while they were talking, and the manager (on the phone) indicated that he had no reason to believe that it was because of the pedicure that it happened. However, my doctor indicated that it was in all likelihood how it happened, particularly since I had never had an ingrown toenail before and was not prone to getting them. Really think Vanity Nail and Spa should have been nice to me - I felt I was nice to them - I spoke quietly so that others in there could not hear, and I just told them I thought I should have some compensation of some sort - which resulted in the possibility of one free pedicure from the same person. Sad... Two weeks ago, I had to have the toenail removed. I am willing to forgive, but they really need to step it up... read more

I have been going here for a year since moving to the area. About every third visit I would get a manicurist that obviously wasn't experienced but nothing too terrible or comparable to my experience today. I came in with a specific idea of what I wanted and was advised why I wouldn't be happy. That was fine, I understood. I am getting married and wanted my mani pedi for the special day. The manicurist quickly became short tempered with me while trying to choose another style. She made about 3 back handed comments and it was all I could do to remain calm. There was another manicurist that realized her coworkers bad behavior and attempted to say things to smooth it over... Pathetic! I will NEVER return to this nail salon. In the end the style I ended up with is O-K but her work was less than favorable. SO I will be going somewhere else! Consumer beware.
