I called ahead and made an appointment for a dip manicure. I left with just dip i could have done myself. My cuticles are a mess, hurt and zero lotion or massage. When I asked about the manicure part, they refused. Also their color selection process is different than any other salon I've been too. As a new customer, you think they would explain and not just assume I would know. Won't EVER come back here again! My cuticles are stuck to the dip because they didnt do it right or the correct service. Im going to have soak off and go somewhere else to get them done correct! Such a waste of money and time! 4"} I had a very disappointing and upsetting experience at Vanessa Lashes & Nails today. I arrived as a walk-in and was told to wait 15-20 minutes. I waited patiently and was eventually helped by a very kind and respectful female technician who did my pedicure. She even tried to do the French tip I requested, and when it didn't come out the way I wanted, I calmly told her it was okay and asked her to continue with the color. She remained professional and kind the entire time. However, when a male technician named John began my nails, the experience completely changed. I politely explained that I did not want my nails curved. I was calm, respectful, and not being difficult. He suddenly became rude and told me he would not finish my nails. He then removed the nail and refused to complete my service, even though I had waited over an hour. He immediately began working on another customer instead. I felt embarrassed, disrespected, and singled out. I was the only Black customer in the salon, and I observed other customers receiving respectful and professional service. His attitude and behavior toward me came across as dismissive and racially biased. I remained calm the entire time and even left in tears. This was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. am extremely disappointed with my experience. The nail work was rushed and poorly executed -- uneven lengths, bulky cuticles, inconsistent shaping, and an overall sloppy finish. This is not acceptable for a paid service. When I raised my concerns, no effort was made to fix the nails. Instead, I was offered a 10% discount, which does not resolve the issue or reflect accountability for subpar work. A discount does not correct uneven nails. I left with nails I am unhappy and uncomfortable wearing, and I will now have to pay another salon to fix what should have been done correctly the first time. I would not recommend this salon to anyone who expects quality work or proper customer service. This experience felt dismissive and unprofessional. Review Update: I returned this past Sunday after two different people independently told me my nails looked like ibuprofens. Based on that feedback, I politely came back to ask for them to be fixed. I was met by a woman who appeared to be the owner or manager. She immediately said they didn't have any time because they were "too busy"--despite there not being many customers in the salon at the time. I asked how long the wait would be, and she claimed they were booked for the entire day, which did not seem truthful. Since they were unwilling to fix the issue, I asked for a refund. She went to the register, stated, "Your full set was only $55 yesterday," pulled the cash out, and instead of handing it to me, placed the money on the counter while my hand was outstretched. The man who did my nails was super sweet, constantly asking if anything hurt (my nails were fragile from taking off gel tips myself) and at the end of my service wrapped a warm towel around my hands. So this is NO LONGER Vanessa's nails! Vanessa and her husband moved literally on Sunday 9/18. My daughter was in last week on Thursday and her nails where so thick and she's a teen and didn't feel comfortable saying she didn't like them. So I called and Vanessa was quick to say come tomorrow we will fix. We went on Friday (homecoming next day) they fixed it and as of Sunday she was like my nails are lifting mom I said are you sure? Tuesday came and bam on mail off by Thursday 4 all off! ‍ mind you she paid 88.00 for nails and toes. Pretty expensive. So we called and a Lynn answered and I told her the story she said she was the new owner and she would fix it. Well today we went in and the husband to Lynn started my daughters nails but was only fixing the 4 when 3 more where already lifting! I said can you please fix all of them this isn't fair? She had some "co manager" come and start speaking for her I said "no I want to speak to Lynn that's who said she would fix? Lyn said she doesn't speak good English and I may not understand her. I said "understood you yesterday just fine on the phone yesterday and I understand you perfectly now? Anyway they made my daughter cry they wanted even MORE MONEY ((which obviously I would have tipped again)) but pay for them to make the situation correct absolutely now. They said it's not their responsibility to fix the husband literally had a grown man tantrum threw his stuff down and ran to the back and left the women to deal with the out come. My daughter said please let's just go I don't want them to touch me mom. The name still says Vanessa's nails the gift card says Vanessa nails this is just wrong. They are rude. I said I'm going to write a review and he said I don't care go ahead! So I'm assuming they may change the name soon. She said call Charlie and Vanessa for our money back but idk where they are other then Florida?? Very frustrating now I need to GOTO another salon pay for rest of the nails to be taken off and pay for new set. I would never EVER go back and the way they tried to twist it on me because my voice is naturally loud but I sat the entire time and spoke to her. I REALLY enjoyed this place until my sister called and spoke with the gentleman that works there to cancel her appointment due to a personal reason he said "okay". She later received an extremely rude voicemail from one of the ladies stating that she missed her appointment and that it was very rude of her not to show up. They also left in the voicemail to never call or come in again. Obviously communication is an issue at this salon. I'm sorry but that it NOT how you treat a customer that is always in there and has NEVER no showed and appointment before. We will definitely be going elsewhere. read more

Since the owner was kind enough to reach out to me and tell me I needed to be a more honest and positive person, I will give a more honest review. The women staff I encountered here is very rude. They constantly try to up sell you on everything. Then when you say no for the tenth time, they are rude and try to push gel even more. The positive was the guy I had gotten a pedicure from Both times I was there did a great job. But nails he needs improvement. My nails and shape came out very nice and what I wanted. I don't know why I had to pay $7 for a glitter top coat but I went with it and again it was nice. However I don't think he used the right tools because he cut my cuticles pretty badly on a majority of my fingers so I left with several fingers bleeding and still sore a day later. The owner was kind enough to honor the 60% discount that he had told me when I was there last time was good all month of January. But just changed to 20%. I originally gave them a five star when I first went. Then a 3. But because the manager said I needed to be more honest in my reviews, I gave them a one star. Yelped a place to go last minute at 9am. Found good reviews, thought I would give them a try. Got me in right away. Very quite and peaceful. No TVs blaring just nice music. Clean. The tech took her time at cleaning up my long overdue callused feet. Lots of cleaning/removing of cuticles and borderline ingrowns. I like pedicures that pay attention to those details and "get in there". I will def return. My feet/toes feel good! I have had bad pedicures that only wash your feet and paint toes.....I can do that at home! I want the stuff done that I can't do.....this place did just that. Thank you! read more
