Based on reviews I selected this restaurant. Another example of having to qualify, validate and cross reference reviews. This is severely overrated. During our 12 days in Rome, this ranks in the bottom third.
Busy with tourists (obviously misguided like me from reviews), it took an inordinate amount of time to get anyone to our table to take drink order, and then our dinner order. There was zero service during the dinner, except for being the food.
Food was slightly better. We started with Carpaccio of sea bass, €20, which was fairly good, and the highlight of the dinner. An order of Carbonara, €13, which was often mentioned as excellent in other reviews, I found to be average, good, but nothing special. My wife had the Spaghetti with sea bass, €16, which were tiny flecks of fish scattered on the pasta. Side dish of Carciofo alla Romana (artichoke) was too oily and uninspiring, €7, and the Insalada Mista (mixed green salad), €6, was mostly iceberg lettuce. Two glasses of Sauvignon Blanc @ €7 ea., and three glasses of Chianti classico riserva, @ €11 ea. brought our total up to €109.
Needless to say, there are so so many other better quality dining experiences to be had in Rome. read more
