We brought 8 people to Diadema while in town for a conference, based solely on location and Yelp reviews. We were not disappointed! The restaurant itself is modern but very comfortable. The menu was wide-ranging and had something for everyone in the group. Prices were very reasonable, like an Aperol Spritz for 6 euros. Everyone enjoyed their meals immensely. Stay away. Food is sub par at best and if you're a tourist it's about 25% more per person plus they have the audacity to ask for a tip. ( separate menus for tourist with higher prices, plus tourist pays an extra 2.50 euros per person to just be seated, and 4 euros for water) This isn't a high end restaurant to charge 16-18 Eros for a small portion pasta dish, of Carbonara, Fettuccine Bolognese and Penne ala' Sorentina. We were really hoping for things to taste better with a 4.3 rating, especially in Rome. The bolognese sauce had a dirty water tase, the Penne ala' Sorentina sauce was too sweet, and the Carbonara was just okay, portions were just small. Nothing tasted like fresh pasta or sauces. I'm giving them the 2 stars for the Bruschetta, that was on point, the tomatoes were perfectly seasoned. Don't waste your money or time. read more

Pasta was great. The restaurant was very nice-- clean and calm inside. Very enjoyable for dinner. We had wine recommendations from our server based on our pasta choices. Amatriciana had crispy pancetta on top, the best I found this trip. The ravioli was mouthwatering with a sage leave for presentation. Very pleased with our dinner. Reservation made a few hours earlier online. Very easy. But let's highlight the best part, Alfredo. I'm not sure if he is the manager or the owner or just an employee with a lot of heart. But you can tell he loves his job, he loves the restaurant, and he loves the guests. He chatted with each table. Personally delivered our limoncello and check. After checking out the reviews we expected a pretty great experience while having dinner here, and unfortunately they fell a little short. There was nothing glaring , but we weren't overwhelmed at all. The ambiance is quite nice, the service was pretty good, the plates themselves were gorgeous and the food was pretty good. We felt that for the price we should have gotten more, but didn't. We've eaten at other places in the neighbourhood, and felt they have a better bang for the buck. I normally take photos of the place and the food and didn't really get the urge to do so here, which says a lot. read more

We came here for dinner on our first night in Rome with family. Since my mother can't eat seafood, she ordered the ribeye (Bistecca). Unfortunately, half of the steak was mostly fat and tendon, making it very chewy. I understand ribeye tends to be fattier, but the quality was disappointing. The server disagreed with my feedback, which made the experience even less pleasant. Overall, the dishes were average at best and overpriced. With so many excellent restaurants in Rome, I would not recommend this one. read more

This was our first stop for food in Rome. It was close to the hotel and was empty so we were excited to be seated quickly. We started with a few appetizers that were great portions and didn't take up too much room. The entrees were good but didn't blow us away. Service was great. This place is quite spacious with an easy going atmosphere. There is both indoor and outdoor seating but I opted for indoor. There was only tap water served as the natural option so if you are opposed to drinking tap, you can ask for sparkling water. Service was pretty good and attentive with jokes being cracked. The calamari here was the absolute best I have ever eaten. The batter was thin and crispy and the squid was soft with a little chew. The ravioli I ordered were unfortunately cold by the time it reached me. I believe my dish was made first so it was left to cool a little too long. Still good but no one really likes eating cold melted butter. The tiramisu was very delicious and soaked well with the liquor. Overall, a great dining experience! read more

*Californian tourist, first time in Europe* Absolutely delightful cafe. We had a late lunch/early dinner here on a Sunday afternoon; not crowded and we got an intimate corner table outside. Our server was really nice and accommodating, much more attentive than other waiters we've had in Italy. The food was great--we had their bruschetta mix appetizer (comes with two traditional pieces of bruschetta, one chili flake variety, and two different olive paste ones), the cacio e pepe (so well done and perfectly portioned), and the Diavola pizza (yummy salami with the best crust I've had in Italy so far). No drinks, as we've been overdoing it with the spritzes on our trip! But the water here is crisp and cold. This spot is quiet and comfortable, even though there's some vehicle traffic through the street it's on. They were playing all Celine Dion songs the whole time we were there, so it's romantic too! No bread and no limoncello at the end of the mail... and when paying the bill, the server asked if I wanted to add a tip..first time that happened during our trip . The food was good and location was as well. Quick (for Rome) meal - food was as expected - nothing amazing but good.

The food is okay, but they sneakily added a tip along with a cover charge. Don't go there if you're not familiar with the customs.

There is no AC or fan inside. It was super hot dining inside. We were sweating while we were eating... very unpleasant dining experience. The waiter tells us that they don't serve tap water. We had to buy still water. I've not been to a restaurant where they flat out refuse serve tap water. And the still water comes in their own open bottle - who knows if that is just a tap water that they served?? And they ask for tip at the end. I've not been directly asked to leave a tip here in Italy. I've read that tipping is not norm here in Italy. I would leave a tip if the service was great... there were no smiles... and we were sitting in hot environment forever waiting for our check to come. We had to flag them down ... and it took a while to flag them down since they don't even look at us or come near us. No smiles, late in providing a check... Overall, not a good experience. Food on the other hand was good. That's why I'm leaving two starts instead of one. read more

His suggestions of the Spaghetti Carbonara and Chicken with Mushrooms were both amazing. Beautiful inside - great for solo dining but I also saw a few large tables in the back. Was by far our worst meal in Rome. Service was poor - the waiter was extremely pushy, for both food and drinks. He refused to stop asking what we wanted, and was very judgemental whenever we would turn him down. He would not take a hint. After lots of pushing on his end, we were forced to order two sodas as he was extremely disgruntled with our choice of just plain water. In terms of food, the food was also the worst we've had thus far. We started off with a seafood appetizer, which was generous in terms of the seafood portion (lots of squid, prawns, etc.) - but the sauce was too tangy and citrusy. My parents ordered pizza, and the individual portions were also extremely generous, clocking in at a size larger than their heads. However, it was too greasy and floppy. I ordered the minestrone soup, and was only okay with what I got. There were lots of vegetables, but it was honestly just vegetables boiled in chicken stock. Finally, my sister got the lasagna, and barely touched her dish. It was just far too greasy and dense. Not good at all. read more
