Me and my family visited Rome in 2023 and again this year. We had a superb experience during our first visit which made us come to Marco G 3x . We are no where in Rome again for 3 full days and had made reservations for the 3 consecutive days. The food is nothing like any other Italian restaurants we had. Coming from Las Vegas, there are numerous "world-class" restaurants in town, however there is a great homey feel to this place. You cannot go wrong with any dish listed in the menu. THIS IS THE BEST PASTA IN ITALY. I am Italian and got the Carbonara extra (truffle carbonara) and was practically emotional over how amazing it was. My father will never know I posted this review, but this pasta beats any and every pasta I have ever had. Must go. The staff is amazing and food takes time, but because they truly are putting their hearts into it. I went with a party of 9 and each person left extremely happy with their main dish and dessert. The staff are very friendly and the ambiance was cozy and casual. Wasn't a favorite spot but they did try to please. We just didn't vibe with the food. My husband and I are visiting Italy and we went to dinner here tonight based on reviews and honestly we didn't feel like walking any more than we had to since we'd walked all day and it was an amazing place. Really, so awesome. My husband wanted to get an early dinner (like 6pm, which in Italy I've noticed seems to be extremely early) so we thought we might wait a little since they were still going to be closed for a a while but they saw us and opened the door anyway and seated us. Now we don't speak Italian and this restaurant is 100% Italian. The main "server" (honestly he seemed very in charge so he might have even been more of an owner? Not sure) did speak English very well but they didn't make us feel like "ugly Americans" (100% we can be) They offered suggestions and were just wonderful. This food was superb! We came from the U.S. I use yelp for restaurant recommendations back home. I was glad to see that they used Yelp in Italy. After searching through Trip Advisor and Lonely planet book for recommendations, we found Marco's reviews on Yelp. We were recommended by Marco to order the pumpkin ravioli. We ordered the seabass with a zucchini crust. The fish was very fresh, the freshest so far, the pumpkin ravioli was amazing. I ordered the Gorgonzola bruschetta with honey. It was very good. The overall dishes we ordered were bland overall and in need of some help. Mussels were OK albeit small and the soup stock was pretty basic (butter, oil, water). Chicken dish was a very basic tomato sauce with a dry unflavored whole chicken sans the legs. Seafood pasta was also the same basic level as the chicken. Saving grace was the lasagna which was crispy on the top and on the four corners. The signature Aperol Spritz was made with flat Prosecco so we didn't venture into a second glass. Staff was semi-attentive, but no specials and had to be hailed down during most of our visit while the outside was busy, but dining inside (large space) was practically empty. We would not go back nor recommend this place with so many better tasting competition in the menu offering and price range. It is a nice space, but they need to refocus on the food as it's obvious that there is much missing from the flavor. read more

You MUST MUST MUST order the Gorgonzola (I think) and honey bruschetta. We ended up ordering 4 plates of it! Most orgasmic thing I've ever tasted. I also got the fusilli With truffle oil and sausage. The atmosphere is very friendly compared with other restaurants in Rome I've been to. We went to this restaurant two nights in a row and they remembered us and thanked us for coming back. The bread is not incredible, but you're not here for bread. You're here for some of the best pasta Rome has to offer. We needed to walk for about an hour after, but it was worth it. From start to finish this was truly the best experience that my wife and I have had eating out in Roma. I started with the smoked salmon on bruschetta which was smoked on the premises and delicious! My wife had the smoked buffalo mozzarella which was really nice. My wife had the chicken cacciatore and I had a traditional Roman beef dish which was fantastic.
