In March 2026 I accessed Unit 411 and found two dead rats inside the unit and severe rodent damage to my belongings. The unit was clearly unfit for storage at that point: about 90% of the contents were contaminated or destroyed, and I had to hire a debris removal company to clear everything out at my own expense. I immediately notified the on site manager. No photos were taken, no inspection was done at that time, and the only response I received was an offer of a broom. After I vacated and cleaned the unit, I requested a refund of three months' rent as a reasonable gesture for an unsanitary, unusable space and the costs I incurred. Management refused and told me to take it up with my insurance company. Their rental agreement may disclaim responsibility for contents, but it does not change the reality that I was paying for a storage unit that ended up with dead rats, extensive contamination, no proper on site documentation, and no willingness to offer even a modest rent credit. If you are considering storing anything of value here, you should factor this into your decision.

Located along Dixie Highway, Extra Space Storage offers four floors of various-sized climate control storage units with first floor/elevator access. The facility is very clean. It provides a safe environment for customers and their belongings with an on-site manager, individual alarm codes for entry, and 24-hour video surveillance. There's also 24/7 access to the units, moving carts for heavy/bulky items, a convenient loading dock; as well as various locks, sized boxes, and packing supplies available for purchase. Rates vary according to the size of the unit. There's an administration fee added and insurance based on item value. Once I decide which size unit I need for my things, I will make a reservation.

Our storage unit was broken into in July 2025, yet we were never notified -- no phone call, no email, no text, nothing. I only discovered something was wrong when I attempted to access my unit in December 2025 and found that my personal lock had been removed and replaced with a CubeSmart lock. Because it was after hours, no one could assist me at that time. When I returned the next day, the local manager casually informed me that the unit had been broken into months earlier. When I asked why I was never told, I was told they "tried to call me." That is simply not true -- I have zero missed calls, voicemails, emails, or texts notifying me of a break-in or theft. What makes this even more frustrating is that CubeSmart had no issue contacting me in October to inform me that my credit card had expired and a payment did not go through -- yet still did not mention that my unit had been broken into. So you can reach me about payment, but not about theft of my belongings? When I was finally allowed access to the unit, the conditions were horrifying: *All valuables had been stolen *Rat feces and carcasses were throughout the unit *Rats had chewed through suitcases, bags, and clothing *Water damage and mold had destroyed everything remaining Despite all of this -- theft, pest infestation, and flooding -- CubeSmart continued charging me rent every single month while my belongings sat destroyed in an unsanitary and unsafe unit. The local manager was dismissive and rude and outright lied, and I was forced to escalate the issue to the General Manager, who ultimately confirmed that this situation was entirely CubeSmart's fault and there had been no attempt to contact me. This experience has been stressful, upsetting, and completely unacceptable. If you value your belongings or expect basic communication and accountability, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for storage. Also, if you have similar issues with this particular CubeSmart - especially the unprofessional and rude manager - contact the General Manager as he has multiple complaints against her and action needs to be taken.
